Give us a SS standard to use as yardstick.
Give us a half Yoruba standard as a yardstick. none. primitive ppl with backward minds |
Do I sound like Im joking? Name a Nigerian tribe better than Yoruba at leading successful corporate and public administrations or running growth strategies and government policies. Gej's administration is politically delinquent and morally insolvent. Where should he go to turn his scorecard green? He cant go to East, thats all he is sorrounded with now and they helped sank him this deep; they dont have the technocrats and bureacrats needed to get him out. The best brain you have in East is NOI, a Harvard graduate and director of World Bank with zero instinct for running an efficient economy or managing policies. She was sent out of the same occupied position when her incompetencies as a decision maker became obvious to Gej's predecessor. Who vetted her for a return to the job? Another incompetent bureacrat from East? It ought to enter Guinness World records as an unsolved human mystery that the pair of a Harvard graduate who also was a World Bank Director and a two times Finance Minister, served in a ruling capacity with a Phd University Professor who had seasoned stints first as a Deputy Governor, then as Governor of a State, upgraded to VP and then a elected President, yet they could not steer the affairs of a Nation half as efficiently and prosperously as was done by a 32yr old Gowon who had no more than a secondary school education and rudimentary military trade schools or another 35yr old Obasanjo with similar education as Gowon but innately savvy in the management and administration of manpower and political states. Yes, I agree, we need the Best man for the job! Ibos are not known for producing "best man for the job". If they did, with as many Ibos that serve as pillars of his administration, Jonathan should be rocking as the best regime we ever had in this country. In fact, if he was sorrounded by as many Yorubas as he had Ibos, the finance ministry, aviation, education, and so on, should be enjoying similar encomiums as is directed towards his Yoruba Agric Minister, Mr Adesina. We need an Adesina type for CBN.
Seriously, y do keep advocating for the tribe that destroyed Nigeria's public assets: Nitel, NEPA, refineries, john Holt, leventis, wema bank , aviation ministry, railways, Nigerian airways, civil service in general? Yorubas are lazy, incompetent and lack drive. They don't have ideas to put in a venture, they only think of how the venture will help them . Highly corrupt persons. They only got the chance to manage something in the 70s because the igbos were fresh from the war and Nigeria got worse for it. They increase inefficiency in any thing they manage. They embezzle money to keep wh.ores and concubines. Nigeria got destroyed as a result of the rot they left in the systems and parastatals. Wonder y there is no rich Yoruba who did not embezzle public funds. Soludo cleated most of the mess his predecessor left. We can't go back to yorubas again as far as this administration is concerned, the Rot they put in the aviation for eg is still giving stella oduah some assignments to clear. Thank God she sacked the 5 yorubas that were perpetuating evil in the industry for years and bicourtney will follow suit. If they like, let them look for what to probe her with, her tasks must be accomplished. |
TribalEAST: igbo musicians still sing a lot in yoruba language neglecting theirs e.g don jazzy, dr sid, d prince, chidinma etc.And who told u igbos hardly have Igbo movies? Are u in the east? All the cds i bought these last 3 months are of Igbo movies. Do u think there is any Yoruba movie CD in the east? Same way easterners are not aware of yoruba movies unless when they flip thru dstv. Moral: talk only what u can defend. |
Chartey: True! But I'm more concerned about either the hypocrisy or clueless-ness of these people. They complain they want to promote the Igbo language through this university but the very name of this university is European. Can you imagine this in Yorubaland. If it's in Yorubaland, the school will have a proper Yoruba name and the school will gain popularity in no time. All in all, i think making learning of Igbo compulsory at pre-degree and 100 levels isn't a bad idea. And who told u they don't study Igbo Lang in 100 levels in eastern unis? I learnt that in my time, so what does that make u sound like? Which univ in Yoruba is named after a Yoruba word? Trash |
Chartey: Everything you've said is just the other way round. In fact, some few years back Igbo musicians had to incorporate yoruba into their music to sell. People like Ruggedman, African China and Dj Zeez couldn't even identify with their Igbo heritage boldly.who is incorporating Yoruba to sell a music album? Is there any language they don't sing urban Nigeria music with? what of yorubas that sing in Igbo? U stay in ur Yoruba villages and get to hear of Yoruba songs only, u ppl shd civilize for once and get exposed globally. |
eggheaders: https://www.nairaland.com/1573425/enugu-village-100-people-1909/5#20555258What has Enugu of 1909 got to do with Enugu of 2013? u don't talk abt a city that no Yoruba state can achieve. No Yoruba town can reach the beauty of Enugu and owerri ever. . Ibadan remains the biggest slum in west africa |
Am sure innoson will come with brighter ideas |
So, superstar, u have finally agreed no part of Yoruba land is developed enough to match SE? Beautiful. I told u there is no city there, and u font reason am. Y do u want to show me Lagos which strangers have been buying and developing serially for 100 yrs, I thought u said u were proud of ur ancestral slums? Na me go show u around Lagos when u are ready. Una no get more than 10% of Lagos properties, , left for u, Lagos would have been another disaster. . hahahaha, we are both non indigenes of Lagos, so talk sth else As every other Yoruba, u are even ashamed of Yoruba land. |
cheruv: I know say na girl(ajiboota) dey speak this thing...lee ihe I naasu igbo ka nga a naacha ugu jiri mma nadighi nko.M kpuo gi akanti ugbu a dimpulz juru gi n'ihu acha rosen roseno ka na ede chaachaa I na agbaghari |
The worst hit in these tnz are Igbo children raised outside SE. Measures to ensure they speak Igbo are more paramount than those of SEners. Igbo Lang is not dying in the SE, |
Orlando Owoh: You may kill yourself.hahahahaha |
eggheaders: The same way asiere and his propaganda machine radio Biafra were saying you guys are winning the way, when the reverse is the case. Tell your alaigbo development story to the dogs not to we that have seen the hellhole.hellhole is better than SW |
@ philiopiano, these ate no proper threads, devt go beyond roads. take a cue from Enugu thread for instance |
agbameta: Thanks for letting us know you have nothing in iboland to show us even though you people and your isi ewu governors are all Christians... talk about hateful and bitter fake no christmas lights and decoration Christians...lmaoAnd that none exist in Yoruba land. How do y manage to trash sef. Xmas tree/ lights na anything? Theodore orji put it in abia last yr, is that going to make me clap for him? If its there in owerri this yr, I don't know, didn't go there. U really have to learn to involve urself in more intelligent discourses. |
01mcfadden: Ada Ada is irrelevant?just because skelewu came out yest, he thinks it reigned better than Ada Ada or other hits . Earlier in the year, Limpopo was even number 1 hit. Most DJs on Silver Bird and African magic attest to that too. They could play Limpopo 20 times in an all night event and ppl will still be excited. Can u do thatcwith skelewu. One said that he puts on Limpopo to buy time whenever he is at a loss at what he shd play or not. That odua boy thinks ppl are being tribalistic but the thing is that as a village boy, he will keep writing at the level of his understanding. |
Keneking: Anyway Sha, Igbos are indeed doing well.y do u always say this |
Orlando Owoh: Why do you deceive yourself by saying the work of Wole Soyinka is not known worldwide? His poetry, drama and prose were considered when he was announced as the winner of the Nobel Laureate Prize in Literature. It was even announced that his "Interpreters" could not be interpreted by six intellectuals. This is a Yoruba man that is commissioned by the Queen of England to write play(s) in her native English dialect. So what proves the world knows of his works? nothing. is better u stick to the Nobel theory than this BS cos Achebe got greater feats in that direction |
dayokanu: The only Nobel from Nigeria says HelloWe have dissected how unimportant he is worldwide. Wait, na only one name Una get? So if he had not won Nobel, he isn't presentable? Because u have not even proven the guy is famous in the world. |
that's good @ phillipiano. Just open a thread on that or u upload many more pix. Its better than the savage talk from agbameta. include the Xmas tree too. no photoshopping |
eggheaders: After taking the Igbo all to the dissection room and playing with their cadavers. For where? U guys failed woefully, in the course of unnecessary tribal defence, u exposed ur weaknesses. Upon all ur name callings, u didn't achieve anything. Thanks to u both for keeping the thread alive. Back to topic . Igboland states have more developed non capital cities than anywhere in Nigeria. Igboland is densely populated too. The additional fact that igbos exist in large numbers elsewhere only points to the notion that the Igbo population is underestimated. |
agbameta: But you are yet to show us anything from any of your villages where you and all your governors are Christians. Do you not believe in Christmas lights and celebration? No Yoruba land has Xmas trees. No Yoruba land has a thread. smh. The only ray of hope in SW is hugely cosmopolitan and has the least contribution from yorubas. o dikwa egwu. |
superstar1: Which ojukwu released Awo?I thought u said yorubas pounced igbos, u see ur life now? |
Even Limpopo reigned better than skelewu. @odua boy which village are u living in? |
odua boy: You are a bigot....Skelewu is undeniably the biggest song of 2013.....whatever tickles ur fancy. I have told u Myn. what does skelewu entail? |
the hair is not doing her justice
INI Edo looks best in Ghana weaving |
atlwireles: Who was responsible for those loses?? Soludo or Sanusi? As far i'm concern, the person that screamed fire in the market is responsible. Soludo did not bury the confidence of the Nigerian stock market and our financial sector. Sanusi was the one that called everybody a thief, only to leave the industry in worst shape than he met it. No amount of fake awards and noise will change this fact. |
agbameta: Lagos state, olodo villager.I mean a core Yoruba enclave |
omusiliyu: Proudly team ada ada. Have you seen my beautiful baby have you seen my tomato baby oooo, baby suffering dey cool temper, ada. Baby Nah sugar sugar oooo. Everybody dey wait...Putakene n' ogbo Ihe di mma amaka Beta soup na money kill am o Ada mma kwekwem ya Ada Ada Ada Ada |
odua boy: I agree completely with this list but Ada ada is not the biggest song of 2013 and shouldn't be the no 1 song on the list. That position rightfully belongs to davido "skelewu"that's where u failed it. Ada Ada all the way. Both in popularity and meaningfulness |
agbameta: There is Christmas tree in Yorubaland where the governor is a Muslim as depicted in this thread. The question is, where is the Christmas decoration in your christian villages..?where are they in the Yoruba villages? |
dayokanu: Yes Soyinka bribed the Nobel committee to award him, The govt of IBB sent oil blocks to the Nobel committeeNa Una know best. Prove me wrong, no Yoruba of Intl repute. even ur awolowo remained a local champion, u don't even have a zik match. smh |
