Jobs/VacanciesRe: Undecided Over Two Jobs Offers!!! Please Advice by Kgdavid(m): 10:41pm On Jul 13, 2016
victree007:
Hello everyone, My name is Victory and I don't know how to tell you this or what format to follow

On 31st May this year, a day after my birthday, I resigned from a mining company where I was working in Jos because working terms and conditions no longer gave me what I wanted in a job coupled with the fact that I was fed up with ONE MAN BUSINESS and promised myself not to work with any again.

Immediately I got home that day, I was excited to receive a mail inviting me for an interview with a multinational organization. To cut the long story short, I ended up doing interviews with three different companies within two weeks in Lagos and I resumed with one of them just last week.
Where I am now the pay is 100k per month for my position, accommodation, staff bus to and fro work daily with no other benefits for now, it is a one man business that is just starting up in Abeokuta and I am enjoying working with the company though the job is tasking and demanding but I am learning daily...

Just yesterday, one of the three companies called for me to resume this Friday in Lagos...Please find some benefits that come with the position below as I was told during the interview and from a source within the firm. Though the start up pay is half what I am getting in Abeokuta;
1. PENSION
2. INSURANCE
3. 13TH MONTH
4. TRAINING AND RETRAINING
5. CAREER GROWTH
6. JOB SECURITY
7. EXPOSURE
ABOVE ALL, IT IS A MULTINATIONAL ORGANIZATION

Now I have between now and tomorrow Thursday to either resign in Abeokuta or reject the offer in Lagos
Please I would like for moderators to help move this post to where it can be seen quickly for advise, thank you
Multinational that wants to pay you 50 thousand Naira....

The most educative post ever on NL.
If only the mods will be pushing this kind of thread to FP and not about Snake,Bushmeat,Tonto Dikeh and others. sad
Nairaland is not meant to be educative. It is an open forum, meaning it is meant to be reflective of the preferences of the people who use it. As you can see, despite this thread being on the front page it is only 2 pages long. This shows you that the bulk on nairaland's clients (nairalanders), do not appreciate topics such as these, as much as they do others.

Nairaland mods have to respond to the demand by creating the supply. Snake threads go to front page because the bulk of nairalanders and even other Nigerians online, like to read snake stories.
FamilyRe: I Am Scared, My Fiancee And Her Mum Treats Her Father Like A Houseboy by Kgdavid(m): 8:28pm On Jul 13, 2016
sammily:
Please I want people to help me out here. I proposed to my girlfriend of 8 months last 2 week ago and we agreed to visit her home last Sunday. I have always dropped her off around the place but I have never entered the house because I wasn't yet ready to meet the parent because we were just dating then and I wasn't yet sure that she was the one for me. Meanwhile all these while, My girl was only referring to her mum so I subconsciously concluded that the father is late. So last Sunday, I got to their house at Agege pen Cinema and what I saw was very sad. I saw a man looking so haggard in the sitting room and I greeted him, He answered in a very low tone and welcomed me. My girls mum soon came out to the sitting room and also greeted me. We exchanged pleasantries before my girl came out to join us in the discuss. At a point my girls mum brought out money and asked the haggard man to go and buy fuel to power the generator for me so that Heat will not disturb me.

We discussed at length after the man left. To cut the long story short, After the meeting we fixed another date for the second meeting that I was supposed to attend with a family member. When I was about leaving, I gave them some money and some to the man and he fell on his knees thanking me as if he has never owned N1000 in his entire life. When my girl was seeing me off, I asked her who the man was and lo and behold, it was her father. I couldn't believe my ears. it was like a rude joke. it was unbelievable. She must has sensed my confusion before she started telling me stories of how the man maltreated her mum when he had money, how he married another wife who squandered all his money and left them in penury. She said he used to beat her mum and all sorts which I cannot write here.

Since that Sunday till now, I've had no peace of mind, I've been thinking and imagining how a right thinking woman and her daughter can comfortably relegate the man of the house to a mere houseboy. That Sunday, the man was wearing a torn knicker and a white singlet that I won't even use to clean my car. Even my wife to be hushed him down when he came back and wanted to keep the fuel change to himself. Something is wrong somewhere, a woman who could treat her husband like this no matter what he did in the past is scary. I have not even picked her calls since that Sunday evening. I am scared and I don't know what to do next.
This piece is well written and meticulously edited. The story is strange and lacks salient facts. You took the time to upload a picture to add visual appeal.

I suspect that you, Mr. Op, are a writer testing your skills on the readily available sample.

Nice job though.

this report does not add up to me.

A lone spy attempting to gain access to a military installation?

1. if his mission was to carry out recon, then he would have needed to blend in but,

2. Carrying arms and wearing camoflage makes one stand out and

3. a rational person would only carry arms if he came to fight but then why would he come alone?

Terrorism is here to stay. It's about time the citizens of the world learned other ways to cope. Government sin affected areas chould encourage private gun ownership but only of thoroughly vetted citizens. Businesses should be mandated to eithe arm themselves or employ armed guards. The fight must be taken back to the enemy.

TravelRe: How God Saved My Life On Saturday by Kgdavid(m): 11:06am On Jun 27, 2016
Jerrypolo:
I wanted to travel from Abuja to Delta on Saturday, so I decided to board a commercial vehicle (name withheld). Soon, the bus got filled up and we started the journey. I was so enjoying the journey because the driver was on a very high speed and there was a lot of breeze coming into the vehicle. Fast forward to Lokoja just before river Niger and river Benue, we saw from a far distance that there was hold up(because of environmental sanitation) and our driver tried to stop the vehicle but the brake refused to respond(our vehicle was on a very high speed), there was a petrol tanker just in front of us(I was already saying my last prayer, since the vehicle, refused to stop), everyone in the vehicle started screaming the name of Jesus (beside the four hausa guys at the back of the vehicle) and all of a sudden the vehicle diverted from our Lane into the other Lane and stopped miraculously without brake. Now, if the vehicle had not diverted we would have crashed into the tanker and only God knows, maybe I would have been dead, leaving my family in grief and sorrow, but God saved me.
I shared this in crime section because, the careless driver knew the brake was not in good working condition but he decided to use the vehicle because his manager told him that if he doesn't use it, he should just consider himself fired... Is this not the worst crime on Earth??... Well I thank God I didn't die nor did anyone in the vehicle die..
Please tell me you have commenced plans to file a lawsuit or turn this into a public relations nightmare for that company?? Come one bro!! more innocent lives are at stake here so why are you shielding them??

What sort of country are we living in? Someone almost killed you through gross negligence, in fact i believe this is what the lawyers might call criminal negligence and you cannot act like a responsible citizen by taking the appropriate steps to bring them to book?

This country needs prayers.

CrimeRe: What Happened To The Thief That Robbed Me Some Months Ago by Kgdavid(m): 10:46am On Jun 22, 2016
s4short:
Nobody said petty thieves should be set free, they should be handed over to the police and should face the law like the big thieves do, not for every and anybody to pour their frustrations on them because if you understand that the person stealing phones and other items is in a far worse state (psychologically and emotionally ) you will feel more of pity for him or her after the initial anger has settled.

All those who choose to beat petty thieves and bow down or hail the big thieves (corrupt leaders) are simply cowards and hypocrites, because whatever motivates them to beat a petty thief should intensify in the case of a bigger thief.
In my post, it is very clearly stated that i do not appreciate jungle justice. That being said, hope you know that that very same thief would not, in his desperation to get away, hesitate to give you such a beating himself?

Hope you realize that these petty thieves often steal from people who are only marginally better off than them emotionally and psychologically? Had it been they were stealing from the so called big thieves, i guess people would be less prone to manhandling them.

But they instead roam the streets looking for the weak and vulnerable to deprive of the little they have. In fact, as i am typing i am beginning to see sense in jungle justice. undecided

see, that is your problem. you have been licking ass too much grin

simple reality is that politicians are not available to be beaten. And what is the correlation between a thief in Aso Rock and the one that has been caught in the streets? is he no less a thief? Should he be set free on the grounds of unfairness? The people he robbed, are they immune to feeling their loss because politicians are stealing too?

having said that, i am strongly opposed to the act of jungle justice as it is barbaric, illegal and criminal, and brings out the worst in men.

For those talking about whether she had money or not, i ask have you ever sat down, thought through an idea, wrote a business plan and sought for finance? if you have not done so, it is possible you are mentally poor and finance is not your problem.

RomanceRe: My Fiancee Confessed She's HIV+ After I Proposed To Her. Please, Help by Kgdavid(m): 11:19am On Jun 20, 2016
fadjnr:
Oga what are you saying nao. The chances of a male contracting the virus during unprotected sex is equal to that of the female because there's definitely going to be exchange of body fluids
It's not equal sir.

the virus is transmitted through mucous membranes which is why if hiv + blood spills on your arm nothing will happen. because the skin is not a mucuous membrane.

The reason women are particularly vulnerable is because the entire of the interior of the vagina is covered by mucous membrane whereas for a man, the exterior of the penis is not a mucous membrane and the fluid has to make contact with his urethra in order to infect him unless he has an external cut on his penis.

The penis is also naturally resistant to this because under normal circumstances and particularly during an erection, the blood pressure inside the penis (an erect penis is merely penal tissue swollen with blood) is very high and it is difficult for anything to enter. that is why a man can go swimming without water entering his penis. It is almost like a pumped football: if you try to pour water over the valve nothing would enter.
