ReysonDrabek: Thats besides the obvious fact that barkley played against carpenters and interior decorators. Imagine a demar derozan dominating your era Barkley played against MJ, Magic, Bird, IT, Hakeem, KAJ, the admiral to name a few in their prime. MJ's game is exactly what derozan models his after. The game then was inside out not like now which is outside in. Please stop disrespecting the Chuckster he is a legend. |

A40: Kyrie? Lmaooo. He was a star even while having to deal with Dion Waiters being his second best player. That's how good everyone knew Kyrie was so he doesn't count
Kuzma, Randle, Ingram were doing pretty ok. All they needed was time which the Lakers understandably did not have but LeNomad's arrival disrupts all probability of these players having a fair chance to develop. How can they improve? When they are not sure they won't be traded. Denying that LeNomad's arrival throws all development out the window is just being intellectually dishonest.
So when someone is talking about Magic not being at some obscure gym in Eastern Europe I'm wondering how many Eastern Europeans were in any of LeNomad's roster that wasn't already in the league. Cut the crap! He tried moving two lottery picks and a second year product (all with less than 3 years experience) to get an All-star and you fanboys are talking about he doesn't travel, he doesn't scout. As if these Lakers actually have the mandate to do any type of player development
Of course. The job to build around their best player is any GM's mandate. And in this instance the plan was to go via the Free agent route!
Anthony Davis joined LeNomad's proxy, LeNomad openly courted AD and LeNomad's proxy naively tried to strong arm his client's team to a trade. Of course Magic wanted to do a trade. But at whose bidding? You think Magic would try to trade half the roster including the guy he drafted and swore would have his number in the rafters if he wasn't trying to make LeNomad happy?
Lol you're a joker His poor scouting culture wasted a 2nd pick on lonzo when better players were still available in the 2017 draft. Tatum, d Mitch, and even fox who dropped 30 something on Lonzo. The funniest thing about the blame Lebron camp is that you guys have made him into a god who controls all that there is around him. So Magic was not interested in accelerating the Lakers timeline when he called a 15 year veteran's agent during free agency. Stop with these nonsense and let's talk basketball if not objectively but at least like someone who has followed the league long enough. So what you want people to somehow believe is that lebron comes from Cleveland, and starts calling the shots with Jeannie and co watching in awe at his intellect. Please bring up plausible arguments and I might drink whatever coolaid you are trying to sell |

A40: Stop being so emotional. Lmaooo.
What am I supposed to do with this trailer load of PC garbage you posted here? You expected them to curse him and go on some tirade? You think everyone is like Antonio Brown. Save it!! And accept that everywhere LeNomad goes there is always upheaval and anarchy in his wake.
A GM, A coach and 1 President of Basketball Ops lost their job in an absolute shitstorm of a season where a beloved Laker legend was reduced to tears and you're telling stories With due respect to Magic. He is not equipped to run basketball operations in a NBA team. He is more like an owner type of person. A president of a NBA team has to be more hands on than he ever was. Travel to watch player in dingy gyms (at college or in Europe), watch films, read scouting reports, improve player development staff etc. All of these Magic failed to do. how it became Lebron's fault I don't understand. |

For Denver the final standings played out the way they hoped. Apart from GSW the only playoff team the nuggets seems to have problems with on a consistent basis is the Rockets, so avoiding them in the 2nd round is a perfect outcome for them. Now through both the first round(if they defeat the Spurs) and the second round the Nuggets actually have a good chance especially with home court advantage |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 8:28am On Apr 11, 2019 |
The rockets finishing 4th means a potential 2nd round matchup with GSW. IMO this is their best bet, since they as a team actually believe they can beat GSW as constructed. A second round matchup mean that the rockets players are already in playoffs mode and at the same time still relatively fresh. This is perhaps the most optimized round for the rockets in a series against the GSW. |

A40: MVP - Divide it into two between Giannis and Harden
ROY - Luka Doncic. Trae Young didn't wake up till after All-star Break. Assists is the only department Trae Young tops Luka
DPOY - Giannis Antetokounmpo. Can guard all 5 positions. Go and ask Embiid's back if you're in doubt
MIP - Pascal Spicy Siakam
6MOY - Lou Williams.
COY - Who had the Bucks as a top 4 seed never mind best record in the league. Honorable mention to Doc Rivers and Nate McMillan but Mike Budenholzer all the way Embiids back lol A lot of Coaches have been great this year. Let's not forget what Mike Malone has been doing in Denver. |

A40: Lmaooooo I lost count of how many times Giannis blocked Embiid last night. If I were voting he'd be my MVP abeg. This dude is the most dominant two way force in the league as we speak.
MVP and DPOY - Giannis Antetokounmpo Giannis had 5 blocks in that game, 4 on Embiid alone |

Regular season is ending soon. End of season award time.
MVP: In this category I really do think this year's situation is a great reason why the modalities of awards like this, should have allowance for two players sharing the award. But if I have to pick just one I'll give it to Giannis.
ROY: Luka Doncic honourable mention to Trae Young
DPOY: I have Joel Embid ahead of PG13
6MOY: Lou Williams
MIP: Pascal Siakam
COY: Mike Budenholzer |

SmooshCHN: Woke up this morning surfing IG then I saw this. I almost ran mad. This dude Stephen was the last person to ever drag with thief. Always cool and easy going. He was in the nephrology unit in LUTH when I joined them there. I spent a month in that unit with this guy and two other House Officers (Dr Ike and Dr Damilola) they all were perfect like siblings. We would tease him when he's getting tired and asks us when ward rounds or clinic would be over. I'd be the first to lie and tell him we still have like 4-6 patients to see. His reaction was always priceless. He couldn't live without his glasses, the SR would make fun of it and we would all laugh about it. Even after leaving the unit, I'd see him and he wouldn't recognize me from a distance until he was really close because of his eye sight. I teased him about looking so tired from working last week Friday and talked about his glasses 2 days ago. He was to finish his House Job in few months. He was young, calm and collected and worked hard like many Doctors who are never appreciated because no one sees what's happening behind the scene in this damaged healthcare system. And this morning, I'm hearing he was stabbed to death by armed robbers. I left the hospital around 9:15pm yesterday and it never looked like anything dangerous would have taken place outside the hospital where he was stabbed. One thing I know is, this country is f*cked. The government is f*cked up, Security including police, SARS is f*cked up. After stealing from the innocent man, you proceed to take his life. This is f*cked up.
I pray for his family. If you have the opportunity, leave Nigeria. The most useless statement I keep hearing is "if you all keep running away, who will fix Nigeria?". I don't totally regret deciding to come back but I regret every single minute I spend each day and won't hesitate to leave once I'm done. If the government policy isn't against you, poverty stricken people are against you. People have been so damaged even a perfect government right now won't fix it.
Tomorrow is never promised to an average citizen even when you live diligently. RIP. Prayers for his family. |

Roland17: My problem with RJ is that he drives primarily to the left because he is left handed and when forced to drive right he struggles. He is also not a consistent scorer like say Reddish, Morant or Nastir Little. In comparison, today’s NBA suites Morant and Morant’s style of play and his skill set reminds me of D’Angelo Russell when he was in Ohio State. The D Russ comparison is very apt(never thought about that comparison before), especially in terms of skill set. What Ja doesn't have in length he makes up with elite athleticism. |

steady986: There's one thing y'all should know about the Warriors. They depend heavily on their 3 ball. Any time there 3 shooting is off point, they lose. There's no plan B for them. That's why Curry is very important for them, as they can't seem to win without him. Same thing can be said of Houston, The Blazers, Bucks, the list goes on and on. Few teams in today's NBA can win a game where their 3 ball is not falling. |

Tundesam923: sheesh!!! Kd would set the nba on fire. The fg and efficiency would be higher than harden, because he's practically 7 feet and can shoot over anybody. But harden has been otherworldly!!! Can kd do this on a nightly basis? The conditioning and the agression to pull this off?(kd has been know to be a bit passive, not having that mamba mentality-"go get it mentality". Kd has the skills, and he's a better overall player, but am not sure he can pull it off Totally agree, Harden's usage rate and shots taken per game maybe high, but the fact still remains that not a lot of players can do this on a nightly basis and still remain as efficient as he is. |

Tundesam923: I know we are all thinking it( at least I am after harden latest 61 points) . Who is the best player in nba right now? Hell yeah, cause Lebron is no longer that player. I still will pick KD over Harden and Steph cause the durantula is just an offensive powerhouse who plays elite defense. While Steph Harden are extraordinary in offensive output their defense can be said to be good not elite |

etidy: Brook Lopez: 28-9-3-4-3 in a win tonight
D’Angelo Russell: 44-12 in an insane comeback win tonight
Ivica Zubac: 12-9 in 18 minutes tonight
Julius Randle: 45-11-6 vs Portland the other night followed by 21 pt and 30 pt games.
How did the Lakers give up on all 4 of these guys? All this speaks to very poor talent development on the part of the Lakers. D Russell and Julius were allstars waiting to happen and they just gave up on both. |

Tundesam923: exactly!!! And he's a better passer too. The dude had a triple double!!! I believe he can be the best player in that draft class and don't sleep on Ja morant. Phew! Zion, Barrett and Morant are the top 3 picks un that order. |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 7:04pm On Mar 16, 2019 |
Tundesam923: I don't know why, but I have reservations about the guy. Maybe becos you can't get by on athleticism/physicality alone...can he shoot?(am a Steph guy, so I love shooters) p.s I know the Greek freek has been a beast, but when you are practically 7 foot tall and a wing span of 7 feet 4 and see those limbs? . Maybe Zion would get better shooting wise... hopefully! His shooting IMO is still a work in progress. He will shoot if defenders back off him but otherwise he prefers getting to the basket. My assessment of the 2019 draft class is that long term RJ Barrett might be the better player. he has elite athletism, is willing to play D, coupled with great scoring instincts plus he is a better shooter. But the mind blowing athletism of Zion coupled with the media's and publics fascination with him which will instantaneously make whatever team that drafts him must see basketball, means the dude will go as the undisputed number 1 pick. |
