Why I don't caution people of the South East against following the path of the North East is because there is no point trying to do that to someone who is determined, who fails to reason beyond his euphoria. Every time I read some of their comments, I remember how the North East started. They are following the same pattern, as if they borrowed the template. When it started in the NE and security agencies were being targeted for attacks, some people applauded them because of their perception of the security agencies as oppressors of the common people. Then it went on to eliminating members of the society who were suspected to be informing the authorities about the group. When all those were eliminated, they turned on the whole society and that was when people realised that what they were applauding was actually coming for them, but that was coming a little too late. Now the sequence is repeating itself in the South East, but I have seen those who attempt to caution them being shouted down with insults. Oh ignorance I say. Yesterday, when 'unknown gun men' reportedly killed some members of a vigilante group, and people were asking the rationality behind killing the same Igbos whose liberation they claim to be championing, the response was that they were cleaning the filth among them who were working with the gov't against the common interest. Right now in their own imagination, they think it is impossible for the now friendly 'unknown gun men' to turn their guns against the population, the same way some people of the North East never believed those who were struggling to establish a 'just and fair' society could turn against them, but here we are. So since the South East has refused to learn from the mistakes of the North East, I say welcome. |

We know you are expecting apl and as such you wouldn't want any thoughts that will go against your hopes but bros you sef reason am and tell yourself the hard truth. |
nzeobi:What they want is for the whole Nigeria to be a shariah state, their extremist version of shariah. |

I've just been informed of the death of Hajiya Jummai Alhassan, former Minister of Women Affairs ( Mama Taraba) in Cairo, Egypt. May her soul rest in peace. Pass11:I also think so. No smart head of a parastatal will like to go on a fight with a minister as rugged and politically sophisticated as Amaechi. That was her undoing. I don't think Elrufai can outsmart Amaechi in this particular chess game unless there will be some sort of a trade off. |
Poorboy:How about that of an entry level lecturer in a Federal Polytechnic? |
JungleJustice01:OP how far? |
Nigerian media has become a huge joke, wallowing in stupid drama created and played by useless elite wearing the garb of leaders and opinion leaders. Our base sentiments have gotten the better part of our intellect and knowledge. And our own media is in the lead of this blind journey. |
Iyajelili:It's very possible. |

The raping and killing of that innocent but desperate Akwa Ibom lady looking for a job is just showing how dangerous social media could be. Not all the people you meet on social media are as good as you think. They could lure and defraud you so bad that you can only realize this when it's too late. This is why it is always better to be enigmatic on social media. Revealing location as you travel or posting your blessings on social media or family issues that are supposed to be private can attract you a lot of curious fans but the danger is there maybe dangerous individuals lurking on the horizon and waiting for the right moment to harm you. Unless you are ready for the possible consequences, it is always dangerous to keep revealing your blessings on social media. The girls looking for a man to marry should also be vigilant as to how they quickly give their details to strangers. |

And some fools are busy beating the drums of war, chest beating and screaming they don't want t belong as a part of Nigeria. History has shown that Ibos thrive outside the homeland. Those beating the drums of war do not know that they are about to dance naked in the forest of a thousand demons. The mass exodus to the South East of Ndigbo will lead to implosion and unravel internal fault lines and conflicts. Remember the shenanigans that ensued after South Sudan seceded from Sudan. |
When Osama Bin Laden bombed the WTC and carried out many terrorist attacks in the US, their citizens didn't blame their President. For the 10 years it took to find him, Americans never once blamed their President but put the blame squarely on the terrorist. Here in Nigeria, we have a way of misappropriating blame, misappropriating our solutions and that is why we never find any true solution. We celebrate and glorify killers and own them as our own hence we defend them. Recently when one IPOB terrorist was killed some people said, "why didn't you kill your own terrorist, why are you killing our own terrorist"? They take full pride in and ownership of the evil people within their domain and that is why evil can never really go away. You want Nigeria to change but forget the change begins with you. |
