Education / PTDF Gives Scholarships To 60 Nigerian Undergraduates In Norwegian University by kingsdaughter: 4:31pm On Jan 06, 2014
The Petroleum Training Development Fund, PTDF, has given scholarships to 60 students to study oil and gas-related courses at Ostfold University College in Fredrikstad, Norway.

The Executive Secretary of the PTDF, Oluwole Oluleye, said this on Saturday in Abuja at the departure ceremony organised for the students.
Mr. Oluleye, who was represented by the General Manager (Administration and Human Resources) of the Fund, Balarabe Ahmad, said that the programme was organised in partnership with United Nations Institute for Training and Research and was also part of the PTDF’s intervention efforts in the Niger Delta area and other parts of the country to empower the youth.

He said the students – 12 girls and 48 boys – were selected from various secondary schools across the country, adding, however, that 70 per cent of them were from the Niger Delta region.

Mr. Oluleye noted that the Fund was known for training people via local and overseas scholarship schemes at postgraduate levels, adding that it decided to extend the scheme to cover undergraduates because of the success of the programme.

“The Fund decided that it would also be beneficial to Nigeria if youths were given the opportunity to explore various undergraduate programmes under the Amnesty Programme of the Federal Government. The Federal Government has designed various programmes to engage our youths in such a way that they will contribute meaningfully to national development, while steering them away from militancy and mischief,” he said.
Mr. Oluleye warned the students against being carried away by the euphoria of their success in the selection process, advising them rather to work hard and make the country proud.

In his speech, the General Manager (Education Programme) of the Fund, Hammed Galadima, said that there were more than 600 Nigerian students studying in various universities across the world under the aegis of the PTDF
He advised the students to abide by the terms of the scholarship which, he said, excluded the extension of the programme due to poor performance.

“There will be no room for you to repeat; you should ensure that that you finish your programme within the given time” he warned.
One of the students, Doubre Peter, who is from Warri, Delta, thanked the Federal Government for the opportunity given to him through the scheme, pledging to make Nigeria proud.
Mohammed Mohammed, another beneficiary from Salisu International Secondary School, Katsina, said that the award was a rare gesture, stressing that he would make the best out of it.

A female beneficiary, Aresuo Isu-Sylvanus , who is from Bayelsa, said that the scholarship would give her life meaning, adding that she would strive to contribute her own quota to Nigeria’s development.

I also chose El Paso because I checked both places rating with the links someone provided. El Paso is ranked among the best in the country and MIHS among the worse. And when I contacted both places the response i got was also very different in both. I was very impressed with El Paso and recommend it to everybody that is looking for the best service at a very low price. God bless

Ranked among the best and worst?? can you provide the websites from which you arrived at such conclusions?

So I got pregnitude(inofolic) and Femaprin started it last saturday. My period is about 14 days late if i have to count from my breakthrough period last month till yesterday. I have only taken the supplements for 4 days and to my surprise, i started cramping yesterday morning...my period is here!! I am so happy. let me mention that before october my last AF came in November of 2012.(PCOS) It came all by it own in october and didnt come as at when due in november. i knew i was going back to square 1 but not without a fight and all the knowledge received from our mamalawos. My husband brought the supplements last week friday and boom AF was pushed out!
I had also been on raw honey and i bought bsm too but i didnt want to mix everything together grin

Thanks for the recommendation @opejay. I am positive my period will be stable with this and i will get my BFP!

opejay: Hi good women,
I stumbled on this thread few months ago and ive recommended to others in the waiting room and I read n pray for everyone here regularly(though silent moves)....I rejoice with the numerous testimonies and thank God for all He will still do.
I got married Dec 2005 and our beautiful bundle of Joy arrived April 2010. We lived in South Africa then and docs had said it was impossible for me to conceive naturally due to blocked tubes. In 2009, we decided to try IVF and had an August date booked but by Aug 3rd, I was 5wks pregnant. While waiting for my IVF appointment, an older friend asked me to take Inofolic (it's in individual sachet and u just pour in water).
I took it for less than a month and I was pregnant. Fast-forward to 2012, we had relocated back to Nigeria (DH office posting) and I took the Inofolic for few days during ovulation and I conceived again and gave birth Feb 2013 though the baby died the following day due to 'the naija factor' health system (story for another day).

Wish I could upload a pic of d sachet as u have 30 in d pack. It's sold in Clicks Pharmacy or Dischem Pharmacy in SA for about R280 per pack of 30.

I had to post dis because of the fruitful woman's mail (childless).....it kept me awake because I felt her pain so deep!
You can google Inofolic to read more about it, I told few friends while in SA but it didn't work for them..... but it did for me.

I pray for many many many more amazing testimonies.....you r not alone!

I intend to do that when I see him. I just wish I knew the name of d drug. even when he gave it to me, I asked him for the name and possible side effects but he refused and said if anything I should let yim know that most times women ttc misuse drug information given to them. Thanks.

I've Google searched metformin but d pic doesnt look like the drug am talking about.

@ Fvine. ASK HIM you have a right to know what you are taking into your system He doesnt/ you dont even know if you are reacting to this drug in anyway. I never leave my gynea or physician's presence if he hasn't satisfactorily explained why i need to gulp chalk down my throat for over a month shocked and Yes I am in Nigeria. I have found out sometimes that i have been given drugs i didnt need. Do you liver some favour and ask questions. Just call and tell him nicely u are not comfortable with taking drugs, u dont know the name and its going to be so silly if someone asks a grown adult like you what d name of the drug you are using is and what it is used for and you cant answer and that its for you own good and you dont intend to 'misuse the information' . lets hope he answers

inwangobio: I have waited a few years now, i will continue to wait because my marriage wasn't primarily for children but for companionship and that i have been enjoying. However, 'i will wait till my change come', my change comes from the LORD, whatever it takes, i will wait, so no time limit by God's grace.

inwangobio: Congrats to all our preggie mums, our God is faithful. Its been long i posted on this thread but i read it almost everyday. it is really a source of encouragement to me. We did our 4th cycle late last month but it came out BFN. The Dr. who has been so supportive now ask us to go for hysteroscopy so as to know the state of the wall of the uterus and the opening, because to him, he didnt see anything that should cause the 4th one to fail after every precaution was taken and it was a blastocyst ET with 3- A grade embies that was done. The result of the test showed that the wall of the uterus had some scars, he know asked us whether evacuation was done when we had that miscarraige last year( it was in a different hospital that we did the 1st and 2nd cycle),we said no, he now said that was responsible for the embies not implanting because of the scars. Well everything is ok now and the scars has been cleared. We are now waiting for the AF so that we can start the 5th and final cycle that will result in our triplet i.e 2boys and a girl that we are trusting God for, pls join us in prayers for this. I know it is well in Jesus Name..... Amen.
inwangobio: @Blendy77, thanks alot for all your encouragement, you are truly God's sent, am so eager to hearing the cries of those great generals, thanks so much. Yea, we were in the hospital today, the stimming is commencing this evening, we are to go again on the 1/2/13. i want everybody to agree wit us that this is our last cycle and we are going to get our needed result in Jesus name.... Amen. I want to thank God for provididng again the money for the procedure, He did it in a big way this morning, am so happy and this has gone to show that He is very interested in what we are going through. I want to encourage everyone to keep the faith and know that God is working things out for us.

inwangobio: Hello my great sisters, just to remind u that God is working things out for us nomatter d challenges. we were in d hospital y/day cos my wife had been throwing up since last thursday so our dr asked us to come instead of moro that we had an appointmnt. A scan was done n i saw my twins -one 6wks n 4days and d other 5wks n 6days. D dr showed me their heartbeats, i was so excited though i hav not lost sight of d 3rd which our next scan will likely reveal, lol. I thank God for His faithfulness n love.

after 10years of marriage; 3 naturally conceived miscarriages; 5 IVF cycles; mockery from friends and some family members; stretched misunderstandings in the home; God still stood by us to give us this miracle, He is really faithful.

I had to go all the way back to all your posts....This Level of faith...Jehovah that is never too late, always on time, Restorer of the years!!!! answered your prayers...God is Faithful.....Big Congratulations to you. May they grow in the knowledge and love of God.

prettyrosefave: @my God @Smiler, so sorry about what happened to your DH, there shall be a miracle in Jesus name. Thanks for your response on my post. Of which I stylishly checked my DH for all the syptoms but none, am I started discouraging him on the sugery and he himself fear the thing. The first thing he said when he was told was ' e mio ni je ki e ge mi lepon', lol, don't know if I said it well, will not allow you guys to cut my Pe.nis.

Thanks so much my sister, of which Blendy already advised against it in a mail to me.

Thankssssss. Was actually worried and that was why I seek advise yesterday here and the other sister thread, only for me to be bashed there or maybe I don't understand the motive I don't know.

But now am glad you share your experience. May God help us all.

I didnt want to say anything about this yesterday and am glad pple shared their experience. just when we thought i was d carrier of all the issues in the world, DH was diagnosed of abnormal sperm morphology ( teratozoospermia) caused by varicocele and we already read about it online before seeing an urologist. the Moment the urologist mentioned surgery as the only option we fled without looking back. We have read enough journals online to know surgery isnt exactly the way forward for a ttc couple. na to begin gather money for AR remain. God is on the throne.
Meanwhile I have a testimony. AF came naturally yesterday after absconding for 1 whole year since last year october that it was induced. Its more or less rushing like a tap!

Big AMEN to the prayers. Thanks everyone...Our God is still in the business of doing Miracles grin I am really encouraged by your words @ Mychildren am glad your body fought it. I had the same report as well after a year although not totally cleared out but significantly reduced. I use Livolin Forte ...It just makes your liver function properly. God will never leave you in a trying period pls dont punish your husband o ...This is the time you can speak some sense to him.
@Tontolo I know you have probably prayed and done everything humanly possible. It might just be the self service addiction that caused it. Like others have said Encourage yourself in the Lord. Noone can understand what you are going through except yourself. You are in our prayers and God will surely intervene in this matter.
