PoliticsWhy Bruce Mayrock Died by kingzizzy(op):
It has become necessary to clarify why Bruce Mayrock died. Bruce Mayrock is the young man who set himself alight in front of the UN building in New York in the late 1960's. He later died from his injuries. A lot of people dont seem to understand why he did this. Some people say he died for Biafra, others say he died for Ojukwu

Bruce Mayrock did not die for Biafra or Ojukwu, in fact, he had no interest in who won or lost the Biafran war. What mattered to Bruce Mayrock was the starving children in Biafra who were dying in huge numbers due to the blockade effected by the Nigerian Government and Britain.

As the Biafran war raged in the late 60's, pictures and stories of little children starving to death due to malnutrition and lack of medication started to reach the outside world. Bruce Mayrock was highly disturbed that the world stood by while Nigeria and Britain enforced a blockade of Biafra that was leading to unnecessary deaths of thousands of children. Bruce Mayrock's main gripe was that starvation should never be used as a weapon of war. So Bruce Mayrock went to the UN building and set himself alight to draw the attention of the world to the children who were dying in Biafra due to the blockade.

Bruce Mayrocks death galvanised the international community into action. Donor agencies raised money for relief supplies and even paid to fly them into Biafra under the cover of darkness. The increase in the supply of relief materials to Biafra saved many lives

As a result of Mayrock's death, many more Biafran kids who would have been starved to death by Nigeria, were saved. Another consequence of Mayrock's death was that the UN started started to look into the issue of using starvation as a weapon of war and it culminated in a resolution that outlawed it. Today, using starvation as a weapon of war is a war crime.

Mayrocks death was not for nothing, his death saved many Biafran lives and ensured that a law was passed that would save many more lives all over the world.

RIP Bruce Mayrock

You were not just a hero of Biafra, you were a hero of the world.

Put that in your mind. Scammers come, scammer go, but the ideals of Biafra still stands tall. Biafra will outlive fraudsters like Kanu, until the real freedom fighters come along.
When the so called real freedom fighters come, we shall see them. If it were not for people like Uwazurike and Kanu, people like you would not e talking of Biafra right now

MinorityOpinion:
Every man is innocent, as they say "No child is born with hate". Whatever we are today is as a result of our environment, including our parents, friends, neighbours, tribes etc

Our characteristics and features is shaped by these environmental factors, we use it to judge many things either good or bad. The best thing is to learn more about environment to sort out bad from good and lies from the truth.

I don't blame the Biafrans for getting angry at Nigerians. I would be mad too, I would be angry but will that bring back Biafra? No it won't. Will it bring back the lost soldiers of Biafra? No it won't.

I was opportuned to ask a young igbo boy what he thinks about his home town, the young boy was from Enugu but he idolizes Onitsha, he also speaks of his good neighbours who are Yorubas. Now does this narrative hold truth for all igbos? No.

An average igbo hate Yoruba and he even hates the Hausa more. If you think the statement is false, go to Nnamdi Kanu page and witness the unholy activities going on there. While you may think igbos only hate the Hausa, the recent outburst of Nnamdi Kanu racist and hateful remarks against Yoruba while no igbo elder cautioning and condemning it shows how far the relationship between the two tribes is hanging on a thread.

The cause of this hatred is not far from the Civil War. Many igbos believe they were wronged, Why? Because their parents and elders told them so. Many of the things they were told as a child are;

-Hausa are not your friend and they are illiterate
-Yoruba are cowards and they are not to be trusted
- Both Hausa and Yoruba attacked your people without doing anything to them
-it only Igbos that are hard working in Nigeria. Hausa are stupid and Yoruba are lazy
-South south are only good for house girl and boyboy
-The Nigeria troops killed 3 million igbos during the war
-The wicked Yoruba use their dirty Media to support the genocide of igbos during the war
-Nigeria took away igbo money and gave them 20 pounds.

And so on, if you were told this as a young child, you will feel nothing but rage against these two tribes, you will feel wronged and nothing but hatred towards them, you will not want to associate with them.

If I were to tell the above listed statements are all false, I don't know why the elders of igbos choose to tell them the lies instead of the truth or choose not to say anything to correct the wrong impression of igbos against other tribes.

Today's igbos are not to be blamed, they are all innocent, they are our brothers. Instead of fighting them, we should be showing them the truth that their elders chose to hide from them. We should be showing them love, the only way to counter hate is love.

I repeat, Today's igbos are not to be blamed or hated! They are our brothers

#minorityopinion
The present generation of Igbos have eyes and ears and see for themselves what is happening in Nigeria. This one is not even about whatever story that was handed down, this is about what is happening now.

The present generation of Igbos see the marginalisation, the killings, the nepotism, the subjugation, the injustice. The present generation can see that Nigeria cannot work. Nobody is fooling anyone

PoliticsWhy Are People Parading Pictures Of Odenigbo's Funeral As That Of Nnamdi Kanu? by kingzizzy(op):
I have been seeing claims and counter claims of the death of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, on social media. Whether Kanu is indeed dead or not is not the point of this thread. The point of this thread is those who claim that Kanu has died and was buried abroad are parading the picture of the burial of late Biafran activist, Professor Innocent Odenigbo, as that of Kanu.

For those who dont know, Professor Odenigbo was a die-hard Biafran supporter based the USA. He had worked with Ojukwu before, during and after the war. He later relocated to the USA where he lived and taught for many years. He was an outspoken Biafran activist who hoped to one day witness the independence of his fellow Igbos as Biafrans.

Sadly, that was not to be. He succumbed to Cancer and was buried in the USA in January 2015. His final wish was that he be buried as a Biafran.

Below are the links to two different blogs that reported his burial in 2015 as well as pictures. The pictures being paraded online as the burial of Nnamdi Kanu are that of Professor Odenigbo.

PoliticsRe: Ifeanyi Okowa Has The Opportunity To End This "Delta Igbo" Toga by kingzizzy: 1:22am On Nov 07, 2019
Ikechunna:
I told myself that I won't log onto this forum for awhile but seeing this topic, I just had to say something. What the hell is wrong with some of you SE Igbos? Like seriously wtf is wrong with some of you people. We classify ourselves as Delta igbo because Delta State isn't like SE where Igbos are majority of the tribes. It'll be stupid for an Anambra lgbo to mention their Anambra Igbo because Anambra is predominately igbo and majority of people identify Anambra as an igbo state. An igala from Anambra on the other will obviously mention their state as that indicates they aren't Igbo. Most Anioma that don't identify as igbo do not use the term Delta Igbo, that term is used by those of us that identify as Igbo. So in what way does saying we're delta Igbo seperate ourselves as igbo. I've come to the conclusion that this isn't our problem, this is SE problem. Una had a problem with the term Anioma and now Delta Igbo. You can call yourselves Wawa, Oniba or whatever name Anambra people call themselves but let anyone else call themselves a name and that's like war. This is una problem, not ours. I've finally realized that..Some of una have inferiority complex and project that inferiority complex on others. Okowa does not need to change anything rather you and those that think like you should work on yourself. Your inferiority complex is your problem, not ours. If you don't like the term Delta Igbo, get over it. The day I see una crying to Enugu people for calling themselves Wawa or Anambra for calling themselves imbalance or Omabala or whatever is the day I take una seriously.
So you dont see the mistake you are making? Nigeria carved you guys into the Midwest Region, you became "Midwest Igbos"

They then carved you into Bendel, you became "Bendelite Igbo"

Now you have been carved into Delta, you have become "Delta Igbos"

Should Nigeria carve you into another area tomorrow and call it imbecillia state, will you become an "imbecillic Igbo"?

This has got nothing to do with inferiority mistake, this has more to do with the gradual erosion of the identity of a part of Igbo land by the agents of division in Nigeria, and naturally, an Igbo man like me wont be happy with that

Secession clause would never have been of any value to anybody

your fellow terrorist ipob will be laughing at this your statement.
So threaten federal government in your village is not a crime.
Even a threat to kill your neighbor is a serious crime, not to talk of federal government.
You can not threaten a person or government with mouth or words alone. The law does not see that as viable threat. It would be a different case if one is armed and making threats.

If everyone who ever threatened another person with words alone were to be locked up, we would all be behind bars.

Does his freedom of speech mean blocking federal roads from Zaria to Kano until his followers walked down from Kano to Kaduna? I have said it if Sheka is arrested today, people like you will protest why Sheka is arrested just to show your hatred for the present govt
Yes, his freedom of speech allows him to tell his followers to take up arms. What you should be concerned about is if his followers did take up arms. If there is any law in Nigeria that criminalised the call to take up arms, please tell me. The law is concerned with the actions we take, not the words we utter. If El Zakzaky tells his followers to take up arms, he has broken no law until such a time his followers hid that call and take up arms.

Dont talk about blocking of roads which is a simple traffic offense that ends with a fine. There are far more serious security challenges in Nigeria today to be talking about the blocking of roads.

Your bigoted father must be ashamed he gave birth to a foolish fool n fool only give birth to fools. So your father expected Yoruba to sidon de look Ojukwu invade West when the Hausa he should be fighting are in far away North ba ?
That Ore situation actually exposed Yorubas as slaves of the North. You Yorubas were so concerned that Ojukwu invaded the west that you joined hands with the North to enslave everybody to the North

Today, Obasanjo is shouting "Fulanization" and "Islamisation". If Adekunle was still alive, he probably would be shouting the same thing. But 50 years ago when Ojukwu was fighting against the same Fulanization and Islamization of Igbos, Obasanjo and Adekunle thought he was a mad man and fought against him proudly.

When Yorubas should have been teaming up with Ojukwu to drive Gowon and his Northern goons out of Lagos back to the North, Yorubas were busy teaming up with the North to make everybody come under Northern rule

Today, it's no longer Ojukwu invading the West, it is Fulani herdsmen who are invading and killing Fashoranti's daughter
