If the silent Igbo rise up, there is a good chance Ndi-Igbo can gain enough respect from Nigerians, even if the country breaks.

Anyone old enough must wonder which did more damage to Igbo reputation, the war or the chest beaters.

The lesson for all of us is that you have to earn respect. Anyone old enough cannot be happy with the present state of our brothers and sisters we grow up with.
But Fulani herdsmen are killing Nigerians daily but it didnt do any damage to to a Fulani like Buhari winning the presidency twice?

True. Everyone from CAN to Afenifere to Bishop M. Kukah to OBJ has been screaming same thing, Christians are being killed in Nigeria just for being Christians.
Forget Garba Shehu, he thinks he can decieve the international community with this nonsense he wrote. Every time Garba Shehu opens his mouth about IPOB, he ends up making him self sound an idiot. This same Garba Shehu was who went national tv to say that unarmed IPOB with no record of killing anyone is a Terrorist organisation but armed killer herdsmen who murder and rape, are not terrorists.

This same Garba Shehu said that Senator Abaribe should be locked up for standing surety for Kanu, allowing Kanu to escape, but Garba Shehu had no answer to the fact that Abaribe was in court over the matter and that this administration tried to kill Kanu
PoliticsRe: Aguiyi Ironsi Unifies All The Regions To One Entity Not The British by kingzizzy:
Jax1:
In May the Eastern region’s consultative assembly authorized Ojukwu to establish a sovereign republic, while, at the same time, the federal military government promulgated a decree dividing the four regions into 12 states, including 6 in the north and 3 in the east, in an attempt to break the power of the regions.

The four regions where divided into 12 states by Gowon
How is Aguiyi Ironsi responsible for that?
They know the truth but they keep living in lies. They know it was gowon who removed the 4 Regions and created states, they know it was Gowon that took away resource control, they know it was gowon who removed true federalism

But the always like to blame Ironsi for what Gowon did

PoliticsRe: Aguiyi Ironsi Unifies All The Regions To One Entity Not The British by kingzizzy:
What I find funny is that those who say that Ironsi brought unitary rule are the same people who have been ruling Nigeria since Ironsi was removed in 1966 and they ended up making Nigeria worse than Ironsi did. For 54 years since Ironsi died, they have been ruling Nigeria and turned Nigeria into a disaster that is far worse than whatever Ironsi did.

During Ironsi's time, there was resource control, today it is gone

During Ironsi's time, there was 4 Regions, today we have 36 states

During Ironsi's time, the Regions paid the federal government and kept majority tax. Today, the Federal government pays the states and keeps the majority tax

Ironsi's regime may not have been the best in the world but one thing is certain, Ironsi's regime war far better than any of the military that later came.

PoliticsRe: Is Igboland Landlocked? by kingzizzy: 3:09pm On Jun 07, 2020
To be sure, Ikwerre land or Igweocha which bears the greater portions of the Portharcourt seaport was dredged up to 50 miles to the Atlantic front through the Bonny River. Onne seaport was dredged up to 60 Miles to the Atlantic and Calabar seaport was dredged 45 nautical miles to the Atlantic. Ibaka seaport is about 30 nautical miles to the Atlantic and the Lagos seaports dredged up to about 50 nautical miles to the Atlantic.
Compare all these to Obuaku in Abia State, which is only 25 nautical miles to the Atlantic from the confluence of Imo and Azumiri River which itself separately lies not more than 30 nautical miles to the Atlantic beachfront. The less obvious one is the little-known Oseakwa River in Ihiala (Imo State) which is mere 18 nauticals to the Atlantic, all with its 65 feet of natural depth, unarguably comparable to no other River in Nigeria
If a place has access to sea through waterways that flow through its territory then it doesnt matter if it is landlocked or not

You dont seem to understand, there is no "we".

But nobody will ever see anybody campaigning for Niger Delta Republic, not now or in 200 years time

Niger Delta Republic is your dream but nobody has seen anyone protesting for Niger Delta Republic.

Immediately he finds himself trapped, he will device strategy, plan A, plan B. He will use plan A to send repeated warning messages meant to distract and make the enemy think he is weak and compromised, but secretly deploy plan B meant to actually trap the enemy into realizing his foolishness, as he perishes lamenting in regrets.
Its a bit unfortunate that a Yoruba man like Brigadier Ogundipe did not remember this when he should assumed power on the death of Ironsi. He quickly ran away to London

Bola Tinubu quickly ran away to London when Abacha had him on the radar

There must be something about this London that Yoruba leaders like running to

What I dont understand about this Niger Delta Republic dream is why nobody us doing anything about it? How can something be your dream but you are not doing anything to actualise it?

I would love to see the day that various tribes like Edo, Ijaw, Ibibio, Ogoni, Anang and many others protest on the streets of their communities that they collectively want a Niger Niger Delta Republic.

But the truth is that its never going to happen, nothing really brings them together except oil interest.

PoliticsRe: Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Godwin Kanu; The Indomitable Nigerian Navy That Fought 4 B by kingzizzy: 8:40am On Jun 06, 2020
THE BIG QUESTION
What could have happened if we Igbos fought like Ndubuisi Kanu in our agitation for Biafra. Where could we have gotten if we forgot past in the past and joined Nigeria, could we have been accepted back and forgiven like Ndubuisi Kanu was forgiven? Could we achieve more if we stop this agitation for a moment? What does the creation of Biafra pose for us?
After the war ended in 1970, there was no agitation for Biafra for 30 years. The agitation for Biafra started again in 1999 with Uwazurike and MASSOB. In that 30 years Igbos were not made to feel they belong to Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: UNO State Of Cameroon: How Real/Feasible? by kingzizzy: 10:57pm On Jun 05, 2020
Throwback:
And the 2nd choice will lead to a Biafra that is padlocked inside of Nigeria.

You will end up having your tribal space that you have always had, but without rights within Nigeria that you currently have to make a living and send money back home to develop a Biafra that needs Nigerian commerce to thrive.

I see many Igbos currently earning their living outside Igboland withing Nigeria, quickly applying for a renewed Nigerian citizenship, while those trapped inside Biafra will daily throng embassies including Nigeria's, looking for an escape visa.

For those who cannot escape, Nnamdi Kanu will send them whatever he can from his base in UK, ensuring to hold on to his British citizenship.
Padlocked within Nigeria? How? International law does not allow any country to be padlocked. Nigeria is not the only country in the world. It is better to have your own space than be part of a bigger space which is a total mess like Nigeria

Biafra should forget us..

Will they force us to speak igbo
Its got nothing to do with Biafra. If the minorities feel that they want a separate country called Niger Delta Republic or any other name, they had better organise themselves and start pushing for that. The reason is that of all those who are currently seeking separate country, Niger Delta Republic will be the most difficult to actualise.

If Igbos go for Biafra, it will be easier because they are one tribe, one language and one culture

If Yorubas go for Oduduwa Republic, it will be easier because it is one tribe, one language and one culture

If Hausa/Fulani go for Arewa, it will be easier for them for the same reason.

But if the Niger Delta goes for Niger Delta Republic, it will be very difficult to achieve because you have over 30 tribes, different languages and cultures. To unify all of them will be almost impossible.

So if Nigeria breaks up, and their is no movement that is championing the cause of Niger Delta Republic, what is most likely to happen is that each of the tribes in the Niger Delta will have no choice but to choose which they want to go with, Oduduwa Republic, Arewa Republic or Biafra.

Imagine a Niger Delta Republic Where

Akwai-ibom represents the states tourist attraction/ Recreational And sports center

Calabar - Returned to being the administrative center

Rivers- Business/ Industrial Capital

Bayelsa- oil and gas hub, and agriculture

Delta- Entertainment/industrial Hub And Agricultural Nerve center

Edo state- the historical side attraction center

Believe me one day our dream will come to past
Its a beautiful dream, but absolutely nothing is being done to actualise it. None of the ethnic groups have ever even come out to say they even want a Niger Delta Republic

A country nobody is actively seeking to actualise is likely never to happen

So what's the issue? France supported the Biafrans during the civil war and yet the Biafrans lost woefully. Biafrans keep saying Nigeria won the war simply because the British supported Nigeria. What a joke. Cowards
Frances support for Biafra was taken support. Britain supplied Nigeria with Warships to blockade Biafra, arms and ammunition and even British military advisors. Russia supplied Nigeria with Jet fighters

The support of Biafra by the French was a drop in the Ocean compared the British support for Biafra

My fellow igbo brothers and sisters, you see what you've caused for yourselves? I kept on begging you to stop playing politics with sentiments and bitterness, yet my advice fell on deaf ears.
I beg you folks to stop listening to that fraud, Nnamdi Kanu, he's full of hate for other enthic groups and he'll draw us back politically. But mbanu!! You people termed me 'Afonja' hausa apologist and other derogatory names.
Now look at, the worst I've feared for my people have finally come. We are no longer a force to reckon with politically, all our efforts since 1999 to rebuild our relevance has finally gone to waste.
Okorocha might have been a terrible administrator in Imo State but he sure understood Nigerian politics and how to play it and was fighting for us to stay revelant in main stream politics, but alas! We dismissed him as 'Hausa Apologist' aka 'Okorohausa', same thing with Joe Igbokwe and Ohanaeze N'igbo.
We need to learn to building political bridges not by abusing other enthic groups like we do here on nairaland and other foras but by seeking strategic alliance and remaining humble even in our achievements.
I know some people we call me 'Yoruba Apologist' or 'Ofenmanu' but I said my own, it's not too late to retrace our steps. A word is enough for the wise
Go and sleep. All those who claim to be politically relevant in Nigeria, how has that helped them? Politicall relevant in a nightmare of a country.

FFK is right, theres no way the North is going to allow power to shift the South in 2023, power is all they got.

For a couple of years now especially since the inception of this administration in 2015, we’ve been inundated with news of things akin to ethnic cleansing going on all over northern Nigeria from Zamfara state to Benue, Kaduna, Katsina, Taraba, Sokoto etc. All these aren’t even the ones done by our regular Boko Haram. We’ve even had situations where a sitting governor like Nasir ElRufai went to pay the terrorists herdsmen a hefty amount of money to sto the killings though that move failed woefully.
Since the corona virus lockdown, we’ve been seeing gory pictures coming out of Southern Kaduna especially even as recently as yesterday, we’ve also heard about attacks in Ebonyi state, no word yet from the federal government or even the kaduna State Govt as it seems the diminutive governor there is more interested in the astronomical rise in his wife’s twitter account.

Now my question is should we in the southern region of Nigeria be prepared for attacks by the rampaging Fulani terrorists ? Seeing as the fg is obviously or purposely impotent in stopping these marauders. What do the southern regions need to do in unity to protect ourselves ?

God bless and help southern Nigeria AMEN... cool
God bless and help Southern Nigeria? How? When people like Uwazurike and Nnamdi Kanu are shouting at the top their voice that everyone should seek a seperate country where they can defend themselves, people like you will be fighting them to keep one Nigeria.

How can you be looking for one Nigeria with people who slaughter their fellow human being like fowl?

Is that not madness? You people thought Ojukwu was a fool to seek a seperate home land for his people away from those who spill blood like water

You people havent seen anything yet

All if this would not have prevented what mattered most, the Northern domination of Nigeria. Thats what the war was really about.

Guys when do you think our country (Nigeria) will become a developed nation like USA, Australia, Germany, UK e.t.c and which generation do you think will witness this development? huh

Reason why I asked this is because we appear not to be making progress in several aspect as a nation as we are still pegged down by so many issues ranging from epileptic power, insensitive leaders, tribalism/ethnic bigotry, poor infrastructure, poor health system, corruption, poor educational system, insecurity, poor road network, cultism, kidnapping, banditry and so on.

Mods* please do justice to this thread let's discuss collectively as citizens what we can do that will propel the development of our beloved country Nigeria.
You dont have a united country, you dont have a peoples constitution, you dont have a national plan accepted by all, you dont patriotism and you are are talking about becoming like USA and Germany? Lol
