They should go fix Adeola Hopewell street on Victoria Island. Imagine the traffic due to the pot holes on that road. The traffics spills over to Ozumba Mbadiwe when it gets bad during peak hours . I am amazed the authorities have not fixed the potholes because it has been like that for over two years.

IslamRe: Islamic Ruling On Family Planning by Kinikini: 9:42am On Jan 24, 2020
Based on the bold section, can we use inability to provide quality education and good quality life to children as a basis for discouraging having large number of children?
Lukgaf:
Permissibility of delaying having children is indicated in the narration of As Jaabir ibn ‘Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with said): “We used to engage in ‘azl [coitus interruptus, a form of contraception] at the time when the Qur’an was being revealed. Narrated by al-Bukhaari (5208) and Muslim (1440). ‘Azl (coitus interruptus) means ejaculating outside the woman’s vagina in order to avoid pregnancy.

Shaykh Ibn Baaz (may Allah have mercy on him) quoted this hadith as evidence for it being permissible to space having children in order to give them a proper Islamic upbringing, when he said: If a woman has a lot of children, and it is difficult for her to give them a proper Islamic upbringing because they are so many, then there is nothing wrong with her taking something to space her pregnancies in order to achieve this important purpose, so that pregnancy will not adversely affect her or her children, as Allah has permitted ‘azl for this and similar purposes. End quote from Fataawa Noor ‘ala ad-Darb by Ibn Baaz ed. by ash-Shuway‘ir (21/394)

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Taking contraceptive measures is permissible in principle, because the Sahaabah (may Allah be pleased with them) used the method of ‘azl (coitus interruptus) during the time of the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), and he did not forbid them to do that. But it is contrary to what is preferable, because having a lot of children is something that is prescribed and is desirable. Fataawa Noor ‘ala ad-Darb by al-‘Uthaymeen (22/2).

So, the statement of the International Islamic Fiqh Council no. 39 (1/5), which has to do with family planning says:
The session of the Islamic Fiqh Council held during its fifth conference in Kuwait, 1-6 Jumaada al-Aakhir 1409 AH/10-15 December 1988 AH. After studying the research papers presented by council members and experts on the topic of family planning, and listening to the discussion that took place on the topic. And based on the fact that one of the aims of marriage according to Islamic teaching is to produce children and preserve the human race, and that it is not permissible to undermine this aim, because undermining it is contrary to the texts of Islam and their teachings which call for having a lot of offspring, protecting them and caring for them because protecting offspring is one of the five holistic principles that are promoted by Islamic teaching.

The council determined the following:
Firstly: it is not permissible to promulgate laws restricting the freedom of couples to have children.

Secondly: it is prohibited to completely eradicate the ability to have children in the case of either the man or the woman, which is known as sterilisation, so long as there is no necessary reason, according to Islamic standards, for doing so.

Thirdly: it is permissible to use temporary methods of birth control for the purpose of spacing pregnancies, or preventing pregnancy for a specific length of time, if there is a valid reason, according to Islamic teachings, for doing so, according to what a couple decide on the basis of mutual consultation and consent, on condition that this does not lead to any harm and that the method used is Islamically permissible and does not cause harm to any existing pregnancy.

May Allaah grant us understanding

BusinessRe: I Released My House Document To My Cousin To Obtain Loan, How Can I Get It Back? by Kinikini: 3:46pm On Jan 23, 2020
Better involve the police now. Get them to value his assets. Whatever you can salvage from there, please take. You have been kind and it has been abused. Show them you got some balls. Fight for what you laboured for and disgrace him in the family.
I gave my house documents to my cousin to take a bank loan of 3 million naira but I like to retrieve my documents back because of the way he and his wife have been doing things since October, 2019.

He is involved in sales of agrochemicals. He discussed with me on how profitable the business is but that he didn't really have money to put into it.

The wife lost her job in the bank and had to join him in the business. Being a close cousin and friend of mine, I gave out my house documents to him as collateral and the bank actually came to do some inspection in my house and I signed some documents.

The big issue now is that my cousin have not paid a dime back since August last year when he got the loan and between then and now he has done 3 parties that I'm sure gulped lots of money. The wedding of his younger sister in October, wedding of his brother in law in December and 40th birthday of his wife in January. These were serious lavish parties which I think could be done modestly.

I asked him on Monday about the loan and he said his moratorium will expire in February and there's no cause for alarm. This is different from what he told me before I released my documents, he said he will have gone far in repayment even before the expiration of moratorium. I reminded him about this but he said there is no problem about his ability to pay back since the business is lucrative.

I also discovered that one of our uncles actually borrowed him 2 million naira in 2017 which he hasn't paid back till now, he hasn't paid a dime back, I didn't do due diligence before releasing my documents to him.

Uncle told me yesterday that he would have discouraged me from giving out my documents if I had informed him before the loan was granted. Uncle also told me that he disagreed with him about his clubbing and partying lifestyles as a struggling businessman but that instead of appreciating his concern, he and his wife fought him and boasted his 2 million naira will be paid back before mid 2018 but till today he hasn't paid a dime. Hope I haven't shot myself in the leg with this help which I think I rendered to a friend and family?

The worst part of it is that my wife was not fully in support of my intention to help him then.

Where do I start from good people?

He promised to start paying by January ending, if he fail to do this, is it possible to break that bond and retrieve my documents from the bank? Can I tell him and the bank that I'm no longer interested in guaranteeing the loan? I'm afraid, kindly help.
RomanceRe: 2 Women In My Life, Which Should I Marry? by Kinikini: 4:08am On Jan 23, 2020
You are lucky Susan showed her true nature. She is not domesticated and will never be. You will forever cook your meals and run your shores yourself. Some ladies now insist cooking isn't their duties and wants out. Worst, she is jealous and untrusting. A lady who tracks her boyfriend's with phone calls at odd hours will be a nightmare when wedded. Good luck to you and Benita.
mrbenjame:
I think I need matured minds to advice me because I’m very confused right now. Please take pains to read my story.

I dated a lady called Susan (not her real name ). For 4 years. I loved her so much and she did too. I met her when She was preparing to enter the university. 6 months into the relationship I went for service. Came back and it was already clocking 2 years. Whenever she visits I always try to make her comfortable. So she took advantage of my care and always wanted me to serve her all the time. Even when she visits from school she would be operating her phone and watch me do what on a normal terrain she should assist me do. As a young guy I try as much as I can to let her know that at least once in a while it would be nice to get my meal served by my woman even if I prepared it (since she doesn’t like entering the kitchen). Most time I overlook it because probably she’s very tired and all that. Sometimes I thought I was just being selfish but I really wanted to feel that woman attributes but I wasn’t seeing it.

Each time we fix time for a date she comes very late and that piss me off to my bone marrow. She never keeps to time. I endured this for a long time because she never turned up early in any appointment. She calls me at late hours and when I try to explain to her that it’s late she gets angry ( I’m talking of 12 am or there about) and I’ll go to work the next day. Anytime she offends me she would want to be romantic so I’d forget her wrongs just to calm me down. But I was suffering inside.

I felt very weak emotionally and decided to take things easy.

Until I met this lady called Benita (not her real name). I liked her. I admired everything about her. So I approached her while we were going back home from work. We had good conversations and I was happy because she was fun to be with. We exchanged contact and we started chatting. Forgive me because I became happy again just talking to her. Whenever we say goodbye when she gets off the bus she times when I’d get home and immediately I step my foot in my house she calls.( already I’ve told her when I’d be home). I invited her to a date in an eatery and she turned up 10 minutes to the time. I was shocked.

I became more involved with her. I invited her home. She went to my kitchen and she said “ your plates are not washed why? I just smiled and told her I’ll take care of that. Before I knew what was happening she’s started washing the plates. I begged her to stop because I didn’t send her to do that and besides it’s her first time in my house. But she refused. I let her (though the plates were not much but I was happy). She started visiting often with food items to cook. And I obliged to assist her. She refused again. We argued until she had her way. I just sit with her in the kitchen and gist while she cooks. To me I felt I was punishing her because all I wanted is that things of such can be done by her once in a while. (I sabi pity person o. Lols!). And secondly I’m not used to a woman doing things for me for a very long time now.

She calls all the time. Talks so lively and very funny. She’s not the miss romantic type but very smart and reserved.

After a while, you can’t cheat karma. Susan found out. She came to know about Benita. And since then it wasn’t easy settling between two of them. But Susan won’t just give up and I think I’m cool with Benita.

Today Benita is in her 100 level while Susan is about going for her service.

Now I’m trying to be responsible to settle down. I talked with my mum and some close friends of mine but they’re tipping Susan for me because she’s out of school and it would make things much easier for me than settling with Benita. But I love Benita now. She makes me happy. What do I do?

He should look in the mirror. Calling itinerant cattle grazing a culture that cannot be changed in this age and time? Forcefully feeding farmers crops to cows and killing the owners of the farms? Raping 70 years old women in their farms? Marrying off 14 years old Fulani girls as full grown brides? Denying majority of the young Fulani boys education but instead coerce them to become violent itinerant herders? Contributing to 50% of the poverty in any environment they exist?
It is only the thief that dislike the presence of the night guard. If fulanis have no hidden agenda to forcefully take lands from other tribes and are law abiding, why are they the only tribe kicking against neighborhood security. It appears the North is going from despondency to desperation on Nigeria's case. What has Amotekun, a populist security collaboration got to do with 2023 presidency.
First, the North is not trusted to relinquish power in 2023 even if Amotekun was not formed.
2023 presidency is not Yoruba matter but an ambition of some eligible Yoruba sons and daughters.
Therefore, we are better off having our people secured from marauding herdsmen and kidnappers than gambling our security for yeye presidency. The North cannot be trusted.

My understanding is, ABU will take the two best from each state regardless of the scores and ranking on the overall average performance by all candidates. This implies a candidates with lower score but who comes either first or second from one state gets admitted of a candidate who scores higher but comes third and from another state. This is not merit all and it is simply 100 percent federal character. This is not the way Federal universities in the South manage admission. Again, JAMB claimed ABU was wrong yet did not report them to NUC. Neither was ABU instructed to stop the practice.
This is the practice that destroyed merit in this country and ABU continues on the path at this age, I am short of words.

And you that debunked the news is also without authentic source and have no access to intelligence sources.

Xisnin:
Don't be fooled by the source.
This is not proper news from independent. This is a propaganda opinion written by a pro-Iranian columnist.

No. The commander is a diehard Shiite militant.
He wasn't in Iraq to discuss peace, he was there to meet with rebel top commanders.
The prime minister should have at least name the Saudi General who also came for peace
but since such General does not exist, he surely can't be named.
This is 2020, Generals are never used for peace negotiations as they have vested interest in
war. If Iran was interested in peace, it would have sent a diplomat, not a warmonger.

Saudi will never reach out to Iran for peace because they are no fools.
They are both interested in middle east dominance and there can only be one winner.
Besides, no country negotiates peace in an enemy territory. Iraqi government is largely
beholden to Iran via the Shiite ties. Saudi would have to be dumb to propose a peace meeting
via the Iraqi government.
There will only be peace when it becomes too costly to fight.

The fact that you can call terrorists to order via proxy proves that Iran indeed ordered the embassy attack via its militia wing.
Soliemani killings was a revenge for the embassy attack.
Foreign AffairsRe: The Reason Qassem Soleimani Was In Baghdad Shows How Complex The Iran Crisis Is by Kinikini: 2:42pm On Jan 08, 2020
One thing DJT has brought to US is integrity doubt in view of the many mistakes and policy somersaults precipitated by his spontaneity since he assumed office. It will take more than just another US president after DJT to restore the lost trust.

CaptainMeks:
As part of the incendiary and escalating crisis surrounding the assassination of Qassem Soleimani, there has come an explanation of why the Iranian commander was actually in Baghdad when he was targeted by a US missile strike.

Iraq’s prime minister revealed that he was due to be meeting the Iranian commander to discuss moves being made to ease the confrontation between Shia Iran and Sunni Saudi Arabia – the crux of so much of strife in the Middle East and beyond.

Adil Abdul-Mahdi was quite clear: “I was supposed to meet him in the morning the day he was killed, he came to deliver a message from Iran in response to the message we had delivered from the Saudis to Iran.”

The prime minister also disclosed that Donald Trump had called him to ask him to mediate following the attack on the US embassy in Baghdad. According to Iraqi officials contact was made with a number of militias as well as figures in Tehran. The siege of the embassy was lifted and the US president personally thanked Abdul-Mahdi for his help.

There was nothing to suggest to the Iraqis that it was unsafe for Soleimani to travel to Baghdad – quite the contrary. This suggests that Trump helped lure the Iranian commander to a place where he could be killed. It is possible that the president was unaware of the crucial role that Soleimani was playing in the attempted rapprochement with the Saudis. Or that he knew but did not care.

One may even say that it is not in the interest of a president who puts so much emphasis on American arms exports, and whose first official trip after coming to office was a weapons-selling trip to Saudi Arabia – during which he railed against Iran – to have peace break out between the Iranians and the kingdom. But that would be far too cynical a thought.

Abdul-Mahdi spoke of his disappointment that while Trump was expressing his gratitude over the mediation, he was also simultaneously planning an attack on Soleimani. That attack took place not long after the telephone call from the president.

There is also the possibility that the US military planners knew nothing about the conversations between Trump and Abdul-Mahdi, and took out Soleimani when the opportunity presented itself.

There may be credence to this, if one follows the narrative which is emerging from defence and intelligence officials in Washington: that the assassination option presented to Trump was bound to be refused, as it had been by his predecessors in the White House. And that there was a desperate scramble to track down Soleimani when, much to their shock, Trump ordered the hit.

What does the Iran crisis mean for Trump’s impeachment?

The existence of the talks between the Saudi and the Iranians and, more importantly, the threat of impending violence, has meant reaction in Riyadh at the killing has been markedly muted.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, not a stranger to sabre rattling, has sent his younger brother, deputy defence minister Khalid bin Salman, to Washington to urge restraint.

The very real risk of the region becoming a arena for conflict has led to rare cooperation in the stand-off between the Saudi-led Gulf block and Qatar, whose foreign minister was dispatched to Tehran with a similar appeal for calm.

In Tehran, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met with Iranian president Hassan Rouhani to discuss “measures to maintain the security and stability of the region,” the state-run Qatar News Agency reported. While in the UAE the foreign minister, Anwar Gargash, called for “rational engagement”, tweeting: “wisdom and balance must prevail.”

As well as being in danger of getting caught in the crossfire of a war between the US and Iran, the Arab states in the region are vulnerable to Tehran’s allied militias – in Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq and Syria. There is concern whether the US, after unleashing a wave of missiles, would do anything when retribution is taken on its partner countries.

The Saudis learned only too clearly last summer that one cannot always depend on American commitment, when drone and missile attacks on oil-processing facilities in the kingdom halved oil production. Trump directly blamed Iran for the attacks but there was no American military response, just as there has not been to the many attacks on the kingdom from the Houthis in Yemen.

In the light of all this Khalid al-Dakhil, a Saudi political sociologist, pointed out: “Saudi Arabia and all the Gulf countries are just quiet. They don’t want to antagonise the Iranians, because the situation in the region is so delicate, so divided, so sensitive, that you don’t want to stir it up further.”

Robert Emerson, a British security analyst, said that it was clear why caution was prevailing. “You don’t know whether Trump will just light the blue touchpaper and then just disappear,” he said. “The Arab states are right to be wary. The talk about Iran and Saudi negotiations is intriguing, further details should be emerging.’’

The Trump administration continues to insist that Soleimani was killed because he was about to launch an imminent terror campaign, without providing any evidence for the assertion. There is increasing scepticism about the claim and the questions are not going to go away. There are too many memories of Saddam Hussein and his non-existent WMD arsenal. The repercussions from the assassination in Baghdad will continue for a very long time.

PoliticsRe: Femi Fani-Kayode Blasts Ismaila Isa Funtua, Calls Him Uncircumcised Philistine by Kinikini: 7:18pm On Jan 06, 2020
''Diehard human right activist''? Iyen FFK? Diehard self seeking activist may be.

Nik77:
The former Aviation Minister and diehard human rights activist, Femi Fani Kayode has attacked Ismaila Isa Funtua for saying that if Igbo (Southeastern Nigeria) must occupy the position of President in 2023 general elections, "they should belong."

Kayode on his official tweeter handle, @realFFK, blasted Funtua, calling him "unrepentant amalekite, racial supremacist, uncircumcised Philistine & ageing almajiri."

Read the full tweet below:

"If the Igbo want to be President then they must belong'' - Ismaila Isa Funtua.

"Belong to who? To you & your people? Just listen to this asinine and arrogant contribution coming from this unrepentant Amalekite, racial supremacist, uncircumcised Philistine & ageing almajiri.

Who the hell does he think he is? Was he there when the Lord created the universe, established the foundations of the earth and forged the heavenly firmament? Is he God?

He wants the Igbo "to belong" after the heinous crimes that were perpetuated against them by the Nigerian state over the last 59 years and after denying them their most basic and fundamental rights?

He wants the Igbo "to belong" after humiliating, marginalising and excluding them from virtually every sphere of governance and human endeavour over the last 4 years?

He wants the Igbo "to belong" after attempting to destroy all their top businessmen and businesses and after denying them the support that he gives others?

Is this creature serious? Is he in full control of his mental faculties? Does he come from another planet or from another world? Is he from Nigeria, Niger Republic, Mali or Chad?

Let me give him a piece of free advice. If he wants the Igbo "to belong" then he should first apologise to them for the mass murder, ethnic and religious cleansing and genocide of 3 million Biafran civilians, including 1 million children, during the civil war.

If he wants them "to belong" then he should urge the Federal Government to stop butchering and demonising them and to stop treating them like slaves and animals.

If he wants them "to belong" they should stop calling IPOB members and Nnamdi Kanu terrorists simply because they called for a referendum on independence and Biafra.

If he wants them "to belong" they should be fairer to them when it comes to Federal appointments. If he wants them "to belong" they should stop humiliating, bullying, depriving, cheating, insulting, raping and denying them at every point in time.

If he wants them "to belong" they should stop slaughtering Christians and burning Churches.

You have the nerve to cite MKO Abiola as an example of a man that "belonged" and that "was allowed" to win an election forgetting that your people never allowed him to exercise his mandate or to rule and that they ended up murdering him whilst he was in detention.

When will these insulting, patronising, disrespectful, outdated, anachronistic, racist, provocative, infantile, petty, tongue-in-cheek and puerile assertions from unrepentant barbarians like Funtua cease?

When will you accept the fact that the Igbo, and indeed the entire south and Middle Belt, are far more interested in a restructured Nigeria where power is devolved from the centre, or indeed full blown independence, than your accursed Presidency.

Get this clear and stop acting as if yours is a master-race that owns our country and that was born to rule. You are not the one to determine who will rule Nigeria: GOD IS!"

PoliticsRe: Why Chad Withdrew Troops From Nigeria by Kinikini: 6:07pm On Jan 06, 2020
Closing the border was never an economic blunder. Even US did something similar. Those neighbours were too much parasites. Only unpatriotic Nigerians especially those smuggling goods were embittered by the border closure. We should criticize constructively.

Racoon:
See how an economic blunder is gonna cost Nigeria more security complication.
