Do you realise about 2 years ago, while trying to recruit new employees into the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), some of the applicants died from stampede in d course of d recruiting process due to the fact that there some lapses and it was poorly conducted. But atleast all qualified Nigerians were giving equal opportunity to apply and try their luck, whether highly placed with connection or lowly placed son of a farmer or janitor. The buhari led Federal Government in her effort to prevent any reoccurrence while recruiting into our Central Bank opted for a more secret 'Targeted Recruitment' where only 'disciplined' children of top Govt officials including buhari's nephew and Atiku's daughter were 'targeted' and recruited without any stampede. For the children of those who embraced the 'change' mantra and the Sai baba slogan, relax! A training workshop on how to manufacture soap, detergent, shoe polish, insecticide, bead, and how to make ice cream and zobo (products that will be categorised as fake and substandard) will soon be organized so you can be gainfully employed. Do you think they consider the masses or in their language the "ordinary Nigerians"? Their first point of order was to ban our alternative source of power supply (the I better pass my neighbor generator) in a bid to take away our source of livelihood, comfort and business. If they had the interest of Nigeria and Nigerians at heart, why not ban the big industrial generators being used in government offices and government houses, including their private houses so when they suffer the heat we suffer, they will thus find a lasting solution to the power sector? As if that was not enough, they took away the regular and manageable power supply we enjoyed from the National grid but did not stop the crazy bills we pay, but rather it was increased despite the public out cry and protest. If them sincerely like us, them for do am? To make matter worse, despite the hardship occasioned by their failed economic policies, we still manage buy bigger generator with loans from cooperative societies and thrift clubs. Now them come take away the petrol. Assuming na diesel to power their various generators them take, or them take the two, e for nor pain me. But why take away our fuel during this crazy heat period and make diesel available? For how many weeks now no fuel, if you manage see buy, them nor dey sell for kegs so you need to carry your big generator for head or bike they find am they go and wen u see buy u go still pay deve else odiodi (nothing) for u. Some people nor understand say na one boil for body, na e leprosy or chicken pox take dey start. But them still dey shout Sai baba, Sai Buhari! Ekpas! If I understand what op is saying, Basic rent is 84k other incidental expenses such as agency and legal is 50k which makes it a total of 134k. Dear Op if u have that money, why don't u move closer to Ota and get a mini flat or 2bedroom for 100k per year and the balance will cover other incidental expenses. |

My dear, quit being sentimental. We are not saying they should not be investigated for alleged corrupt practices, what we are saying is do that won't in the ambit of the extant law. We are not on banana Republic were in you can arrest someone, on alleged unsubstantiated facts, and summarily details same without recourse to the provisions of his fundamental human rights as provided for. We happened to someone being innocent until proven guilty? What happened to releasing him pursuant to court order and then placing him on 24hrs surveillance. What happened to charging him to court and praying the court for accelerated hearing so Nigerians can put this behind us? We are being distracted unnecessarily from seeing the bigger picture and focusing on other material things. Oil workers all over the country have shut down the operations of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) throughout after the unbundling of the corporation ordered by the state minister of petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu. The members of staff and management of the corporation arrived their various offices on Wednesday morning to discover that they could not gain entrance. A Nigerian man sentenced to death in Malaysia has proved his case before the court after his appeal gave him a new life line. A Nigerian national who claimed he swallowed capsules containing "precious stones" escaped the being hanged to death today, for drug trafficking but was jailed and ordered to be whipped for possession of drugs, reports BERNAMA. The complete report states that a Court of Appeal made up of three-man panel led by Justice Datuk Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat sentenced Abuchi Ngwoke, 31, to 20 years jail and 10 strokes of whipping after convicting him for possession of 251.66 grammes of methamphetamine. The court unanimously allowed Ngwoke's appeal to set aside a Melaka High Court's decision to convict and sentence him to death for trafficking in the drugs at the Melaka General Hospital between 5am on May 23, 2012 and 2.50pm on May 25, 2012. Tengku Maimun said the court found there were merits on the issue raised by Ngwoke's counsel, Hisyam Teh Poh Teik relating to the chemist's evidence. The panel which also included Court of Appeal judge Datuk Ahmadi Asnawi and High Court judge Datuk Kamardin Hashim ordered Ngwoke to serve his jail sentence from the date of his arrest on May 23, 2012. According to the facts of the case, Ngwoke was arrested by the police after he was found breaking into Batik Selat House MITC in Melaka and drank a bottle of ink. He was brought to the General Hospital where 27 capsules allegedly containing methamphetamine were removed from his stomach. In his defence, Ngwoke claimed that he swallowed "precious stones" which were wrapped, with soup after a man named Chibike told him that it contained precious stone gold dust which was used in jewellery-making in Malaysia. He claimed he was drunk when he followed Chibuike's instructions to swallow the capsules which he believed contained precious stones, before leaving for Malaysia. In the appeal today, Teh submitted there were infirmities in the chemist's evidence with regard to her analysis of the drugs because there was no evidence she had read her written statement on her analysis in open court under oath. He also argued that Rozieyati Abdullah's written statement was inadmissible because there was no notation that she had identified her written statement and also no record that her statement was marked by the court. He also said the High Court judge erred when he descended into the arena of conflict and crossed-examined Ngwoke relating to the issue of his consciousness which was prejudicial to his client. Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurshafini Mustafha said there were no infirmities in the chemist evidence, adding that her evidence on the analysis of the drugs was sufficient. She also said the judge had asked Ngwoke questions for purpose of clarification relating to his consciousness when he reached the KL International Airport (KLIA) from Lagos, Nigeria and to Melaka. The deputy governor of Yobe state, Abubakar Ali, was on Monday involved in an auto accident along the Kaduna- Kano expressway. A witness, Sunusi Abdul, told PREMIUM TIMES that the incident occurred in Daka-Tsalle town, along the expressway. “The SUV he was travelling in had a head-on collision with a Toyota Avensis vehicle,” Mr. Abdul said. Fortunately, the deputy governor’s vehicle did not somersault, but the Toyota car was badly damaged and some of its occupants injured.” Mr. Abdul, who said the accident occurred around 9:30 am, added that he also narrowly missed hitting Mr. Ali’s car. He said the deputy governor’s convoy later continued its trip to Kano. The accident happened a day after the Minister of State for Labour, James Ocholi, his wife and son died in a crash along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway. Efforts to speak with the Yobe deputy governor was unsuccessful. He did not answer or return calls. By Esther Onyegbula LAGOS — Three members of a five-man robbery gang that operates along Igando-Obadore and Iba Expressway, a Lagos suburb, have been arrested after a member of the gang gave one of their victims his phone number. The gang has a female spy, who lures men to areas where the waiting gang members rob them. Seun Kuye, Sakiru Oseni and Jeremiah Lucky, are the suspects arrested. When I met them, he collected an ATM card from the victim and gave it to me. “I withdrew N140,000 and they gave me N15,000. This is the first time I have been involved in this kind of job. “I was arrested because I was the one that gave the victim my phone number. I was not the person that initially collected his phone; it was Obinna. “I had assured the victim that once I collected the phone from Obinna I will give it to him. I gave him my number so he can reach me anytime. “Eventually, Obinna gave me the phone and I sold it when I did not hear from the victim. Me think FG is using propaganda to continually keep this man. What's wrong with obeying the court order by releasing him and then placing him on 24hrs surveillance. In a sane society, the Govt will obey the court order first, place him on surveillance and maybe bug the bugables to ensure he does not in anyway try to block his trial. But keeping him indefinitely and rendering him incommunicado is pure act of vendenta. Nigeria gitmo style. I shake my head. Fighting kworruption in deed. |

After reading your story, I feel for you bro. But I am so so ashamed of the comments herein. Now back to the topic. Only you can stop this. It's not gonna be easy, but you will get thru if you have the will power. Follow these easy steps and remember to stick to it. You will fail and fall at times, but yes you will gradually work it out. Step 1. If you have just one bank acct, open another were 75%of your salary goes to, you won't have online baking or atm card on this acct, you can only make over the counter withdrawals. You are not allowed to touch it except it's an emergency which your sponsor(confidant must verify) if you don't have excess cash on you, you won't club or visit brothel no matter the urge. Step 2: Deactivate online accounts if any. You can't subscribe if you don't have money in them. You can have another bank acct with atm card from were you make your daily expenses. And if you have other source(s) of income apart from your salary, 75% of same goes to your aforesaid account after titling, while the balance 25% goes to your expenditure acct. Step3: If you are a Christian, get a Christian brother or any other matured disciplined brother(somebody you respect, fear, love and lookup to) who is more of a mentor, and confide in him. Just ask him to help you thru your plans by keeping an eye on you. Calls you Friday evenings , Saturdays and Sundays at any hour to be sure you are home. And any time you are having the urge or desire to do sometime stupid call him for help before he finishes with you on the phone, the desire will be dead even if you had a Beatiful naked lady standing in front of you and seducing you. Let them know you no longer do shit. Step7: Get some Christian tapes your play in your fone, your car, your office, laptop, home, etc. Anytime you feel like watching porn, watch that video or play the Xtain tape instead, the urge will leave. It might not be easy, continue in it even if you fail at the beginning, you will certainly make a turn around if you are determined. Lastly, go out, get a matured and understanding lady you love, she will work you through it. Don't hide it from her, tell her and if she loves you, she will help you get through it and later on in life you guys can reminisce and make jokes about it. My advice, are you sellable, do you have the experience people will kill for? Do you think you are guts ready? If yes, quit your job. You will survive eventually look back and be happy u did. But I MA tell u the gospel truth, it's gonna hurt, you are gonna regret it a thousand times, people, friends and folks are gonna judge u. You will be broke. But another truth is all these will build you. And make u a better person you will look back to and be proud. abbey621:God bless you dear. Everybody is quick to castigate and judge the military fellow. The driver probably got what he deserved. Some are so so manner less. And I repeat, no sane or insane personnel that is not intoxicated will Discipline a civilian without the civilian asking for it. (mind you they may over do it). Your dressing, candor and manner of approach matters alot while and when dealing with them. Never forget these are highly disciplined personnel. If when the driver was asked that simple question, he was very very apologetic without sneering, he won't be assaulted, at best he will be given a serious warning and asked to go. You don't ask for trouble and then seek for public sympathy. If it were policemen I might opine differently. These are highly disciplined personnel with their own rules and code of conduct. "like they say, soft words break no bone" we should learn to use soft words even if we are Dons in our various domain. I wanna quickly refer you guys back to these movies, The Godfather and the Last Don. No matter how powerful Don Corlone was, he always had respect for his fellows. And used soft words even when he was gonna kill you the next minute. |

His emotions run deep and I think he trusts easily and when such trust are betrayed he gets mad with rage. My advice his wife should learn to manage his public outburst and also manage his emotions. It's not easy. And the brothers should sit down, talk and put ego aside. |

@OP, truth is and remains the simple fact that she loves you dearly and sincerely. Just like you are in a confused state right about now, so she felt since she knew she was gonna leave you for a while. She didn't know how to tell you, without breaking your heart, you dissuading her or making her feel bad too. This was in no way easy for her. Think it this way, if she wanted to break up the relationship, she will simply disappear and you won't hear from her ever again. She didn't do that which show she still cares about you. You have every right to be angry and saddened, but be matured about it. Calm down, talk to her, find out why she did it she should be free to speak right about now. And carefully observe how well it goes from now. If you guys keep the channel of communication open, you won't miss her that my husband and soon she will be back for you. Meanwhile, in the interim, you an use the spear time you now have to focus on other stuffs like upgrading your self intellectually so you can always be ahead.
