ijokijo ni ijo asiwin,  ayo kayo ni ayo didirin
oh boy where you hear this word,

anyways I would try to interpret it as best as I can,

first one - A mad person dance to any music, that is they do not know any difference,

2nd one - A person that is always smiling has a lose screw somewhere upstairs. I remember going into my local beer parlour, and there was this beautiful lady on her laptop tapping away. Nothing spoil, I tried making eye contact with her and she smiled back. Then I said to my self this girl is probably interested in me, but what I later discovered was even when I was not looking at her she was still smiling and grinning under her breath, I monitored her for a few more minutes looking at her when she was not looking at me and I came to the conclusion she has a loose screw upstairs. The second proverb is applicable to this girl.

When educated fellows in Naija speak pidgin it flows well, they tend to switch between speaking very good English and Pidgin that is what makes Naija pidgin unique. In fact pidgin at times is use to douse a heated argument or emphasis a point. The Nigerian variant is really the best.

Luke 16:19-31

“
There was a certain rich man who was splendidly clothed in purple and fine linen and who lived each day in luxury. At his gate lay a poor man named Lazarus who was covered with sores. As Lazarus lay there longing for scraps from the rich man’s table, the dogs would come and lick his open sores. “Finally, the poor man died and was carried by the angels to be with Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried, and his soul went to the place of the dead. There, in torment, he saw Abraham in the far distance with Lazarus at his side. “The rich man shouted, ‘Father Abraham, have some pity! Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in anguish in these flames.’“But Abraham said to him, ‘Son, remember that during your lifetime you had everything you wanted, and Lazarus had nothing. So now he is here being comforted, and you are in anguish. And besides, there is a great chasm separating us. No one can cross over to you from here, and no one can cross over to us from there.’“Then the rich man said, ‘Please, Father Abraham, at least send him to my father’s home. For I have five brothers, and I want him to warn them so they don’t end up in this place of torment.’“But Abraham said, ‘Moses and the prophets have warned them. Your brothers can read what they wrote.’“The rich man replied, ‘No, Father Abraham! But if someone is sent to them from the dead, then they will repent of their sins and turn to God.’“But Abraham said, ‘If they won’t listen to Moses and the prophets, they won’t listen even if someone rises from the dead.”

Travel › Re: Lagos Is The World's 5th Most Unliveable City! by KnowAll(m): 9:59am On Sep 01, 2011
Lagos State is unliveable.

Hence the quest and that shocking but commom-sensical clarion call for the creation of Lagoon State being a justifiable cause and agitation. Although Lagos has the smallest land mass, but when it comes to social responsibility, infrastructures decay with the necessity for a much needed upgrade, and general urban regeneration and renewal,  Lagos is in a dire strait. The State Government is overwhelmed by the problems of Lagos.

At times I think all Fashola’s effort at sanitizing Lagos is like using a tea cup to scoop water from a mighty ocean.  embarassed

Lagos State created in 1967 is one of the oldest States in Nigeria; it should be divided into 2 states,   Lagoon State and Mainland State. Lagoon State would include Lagos Island, Ikoyi, VI, Lekki to Epe Town and maybe Ikorodu Town.

While Mainland State would be all the mainland areas including Badagry with Capital moved to  Badagry instead of Ikeja so as to decongest the Mainland and develop the Badagry axles.

In its present form, Lagos State requires billions of dollars to be a liveable world acclaimed City in the true sense of it.

Renowned car maker, Porsche AG has finally settled in Nigeria. The car maker which is revered for making sports cars has finally gotten a home in Nigeria, courtesy of the Stallion Group a leading automobile marketing company in Nigeria.
The multi-million naira Porsche showroom was recently opened in Victoria Island, Lagos giving Porsche owners the assurance that Porsche has come to stay in Nigeria.

Located on Akin Adesola Street, opposite Globe Motors (Mercedes-Benz), the Porsche showroom is unarguably the most modern on the axis which houses many car showroom like Audi, Honda, Kia, BMW, Toyota among others.
The Porsche showroom is a storey building glass-house with offices for the company’s staff. Built and partitioned with glasses, the Porsche showroom is neatly finished with quality materials that depict the high quality of the Porsche brand. There has never been anything like it in terms of finishing on the Island.

The tastefully built showroom has no doubt changed the scape of the area especially as it backs a yet to be completed five star hotel on the next street. From afar, one has this the impression that the hotel is part of the showroom given it an unimaginable huge presence.
A friend who accompanied me to the Porsche showroom recently described the new showroom as a piece of America that fell into Nigeria.

“This amazing. The environment here is different. You feel like you are outside Nigeria in one of those modern American cities” my friend said.
On display at the new showroom are latest models of Porsche cars including the Cayenne sports utility vehicle, Panamera sport car technology for four, Cayman sport car, different models of Porsche 911 and Boxer.

The construction of the Porsche showroom started barely two years ago and completed this month. Its customers include highly placed Nigerians and lovers of sport cars. Porsche cars

Ikwerres are not Igbo and would never be, everyone knows that they
come from Benin or lost tribe if you may like. Aniomaland have no link with
Ikwerre people nor would have anythin to do with them.
the creation of Anioma is still in the interest of the Ibos and nobody has
oppose it. Those selected Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo and Onitsha  chiefs were just
saying their personal mind. Places like Igbanke, Ekpon, Oguta, Ozubulu,
Ogbara, Onitsha, Obosi, Ndoni, Nsukwa, Ukwu-Oba, Agor, Umunede, Obiaruku,
Ejeme-Unor, Idumuje-Ugboko, and so many other Anioma communities scattered
in Nigeria states have no historian link with Ikwerre people,
but are true  great Anioma communities.
GOD BLESS GREAT ANIOMA KINGDOM, AMEN.
nobody is saying Ikwerre are  Anioma or vice versa, I am led to believe by Igbo scholars and 'Efikos' on this forum and beyond that Ikwerres are Igbos or rather a sub-set Igbo clan. Well that is news to me if they are not Igbos. huh

The time has come to accept Bakare into mainstream politics. Especially amongst  the Yoruba’s, the man means good he is a 100% anti-corruption crusader we should not lose sight of this exquisite and rare quality, bearing in mind we all know what is killing this country slowly.

Character wise I will leave my last dough with Bakare than with Tinubu and his many cohorts. Don’t let the SEasterners and SS people demonize a good man. I know some terrible things happened during the last elections, Corpers killed and whatnot, but then Bakare was as hapless and helpless as millions of Nigerians. The C-in-C who was supposed to be in charge was missing in action (AWOL), absence without leave; he allowed the mayhem to continue unabated.

We should endeavour not to blame a civilian Buhari or a civilian Bakare for this upheaval.

Time to forgive and get behind a good man.

This is the classical high price you pay for politicking in Nigeria, someone somewhere almost always wants to step up to that post you are currently holding in all the states of the federation. Some unscrupulous people would go to any length at achieving it.

I have said it the ‘SEastern Igbo’s do not love, have never loved, and would not start loving an ‘Anioma’ Igbo or an Ikwerre Igbo. Can you imagine them pushing for a state within the SE instead of them fighting for their brothers cause across the River Niger.

If the Igbo tribe were given the choice to produce one Igbo man for a high level appointment, be rest assured and I am not mincing words here,  that Igbo would not be an Ikwerre man or an Anioma man. The Anioma and Ikwerre man should know by now that they would be carrying their own crosses in this hot bed called Nigeria and not rely on any SEasterners to bear their pain.

Politics › Re: Ogun Awards Six-lane Road Contract To Chinese Company by KnowAll(m): 10:41am On Aug 28, 2011
Benin City should have been a world class city by now, that city has been a capital since 1963. In two years time it would be celebrating 50 years of being a capital city. What has the City have to show for this remarkable early dash for development and enlightment interesting nothing. I suppose Benin City is not alone in this category of failed cities others that has has being relegated to the back burners include Ibadan City. At times I wonder why during Gowon's excesses when he announced to the world that 'we had too much money but do not know how to spend it', why these Cities where not developed.

One thing for sure the administrators in those Cities have failed them for almost 40 years. Cities like Kano, Port Harcourt and Calabar which became Capital Cities 3 years after Benin City are more interesting, exciting and marginal more developed cities.

Ogun State by awarding a 6 lane express-way in one of her city is setting the pace Awolowo was noted for. I doubt any Igbo city has a 6 lane express-way in their cities. This development by Amosun would at least silence some detractors from the SE who seem to say Yoruba cities minus  Lagos is shiiiit. Whether it is shhiiittt or not the SW is setting the pace yet again. A new Governor can move on from where Amosun stops by developing the 6 lane further thereby creating an internal if not an external ring road round the city. That is how cities evolve, they should have a master plan which should be followed through painstakingly.

Even the London internal ring called the A406 is still being constructed, more than 20 years after it started.
Politics › Re: Bomb Blast At United Nation Abuja -- BREAKING NEWS by KnowAll(m): 2:23pm On Aug 26, 2011
I think all organisations in Abuja should really have a CCTV around their Buildings and employ Security Guards who would be going round the Buildings every 20 minutes. I remember in my early days in London during the IRA Campaings,  I was working as a Security Personnel and that was what I did, work round the building every 20 minutes and someone else takes over. Can you imagine if all the buildings in Abuja hire Guards that would be some serious employment for our people, so something good can come out of this with the right policy. We cannot rely entirely on the Police when you are fighting terrorism. There must be a significant civilian input.
