Commissioner of Police in-charge of Lagos State command, Yakubu Alkali, has disqualified an English Language graduate with second class upper division grade in the ongoing Force recruitment exercise for allegedly speaking bad English and failing to spell words correctly. The CP who was excited when he saw the good grade of the young man, was reportedly disappointed with the applicant’s response to questions in unpardonably bad English. The CP was said to have been more disappointed following the English Language graduate’s inability to spell the word, ‘encounter’. Alkali, was said to have vowed to disqualify anyone who did not live up to expectation in the area of conduct and defence of their results during the recruitment. Alkali confirmed that the second class upper division English Language graduate was unable to express himself. He said he would not recruit such a person who could not defend his result into the Force. The CP who was not happy with the way and manner those who did not merit their grades were honoured by the tertiary institutions they attended, vowed to personally screen entrants into the Force. The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Samuel Jinadu, confirmed that some suspects had been arrested for falsification of results. He, however, did not give the figure, saying that it was still being compiled. "Na wa o for Naija, which kind graduates we come they produce now 'are' days, can you imagine a 2-1 in English who cannot speak English". ![]() |
A lot of people on this thread are missing d salient point of the discuss. No Nigerian leader even d latter day despicable ones spent 42 years in power so comparing a man who believe every single cent earned by Libya belongs to him is a non starter. When d whole wealth of d nation belongs to one family, would that family steal from herself ![]() Just like Hougbeny boughny of cote de voire who was a life President did he not build d largest church in d world at a whooping $300 million dollars in his country, so Gadaffi's artificial River @ $25 billion falls into that category of maniacic spending since no one dear question their exuberance. Can Obasanjo, IBB or any of our past leaders embark on such phantom projects without reprisals. Nigeria has never had an absolute ruler in d mould of Gaddafi and so we cannot compare ourselves with Libya. Already Goodluck Jonathan approved d sacking of a Court of Appeal judge that alone is already heating up d polity how much more he building grandiose projects. |
@Cap28 The Problem with Naija started after Buhari's over throw in 1985, every leader that ruled Nigeria after 1985 are bastards and need to be tried for committing heinous sins and crime against humanity. These leaders are not only despicable they needed to be rounded up and shot like a dog that they are.I have already answered your convoluted rantings. A fool at 40 is a fool for ever, Gadaffi after 42 years in power is a fool and a squanderer, it took the UAE only 10 years to turn Dubai to what it is today, Look at Libya after 42 years of Gadaffi making decisions at a wimp, no better than a corrupt, inept and epileptic Nigeria. |
The Gown regime despite a period of lull, no developments at all during the civil war, did more than Gadaffi, the lowest paid Nigeria by 1974 was getting more than the lowest paid American thanks to Awolowo's ingenuity, the same cannot be said in Libya after having a sham leader called Gaddafi for 42 years. The Problem with Naija started after Buhari's over throw in 1985, every leader that ruled Nigeria after 1985 are bastards and need to be tried for committing heinous sins and crime against humanity. These leaders are not only despicable they needed to be rounded up and shot like a dog that they are. |
The fact still remains Gadaffi was and is an abysmal failure, after 42 years in power and after getting more than 9 lives he only started developing his country bearly 4 years ago. Most of the mordern highways in Libya are bearly 3 years old in fact so many contracts are all on going, all ready d Chinese have lost big time as their investment in Libya has gone to d dogs because of this upheavals. No Nigerian had 42 years and for that reason there can be no basis for comparism. |
@ hajifaty You are an illetrate like Gaddaffi, no Nigerian leader had 42 years so d basis of your comparism is insanely a non starter. Talking of delusions here, I might as well compare a Martian human being with some one from Earth and ask a silly and deranged question of who is more good-looking. I made a mistake by commenting on something that is a fantasy rather than a reality. |

If Nigerian leaders had d opportunity & luxury of being on d saddle for 42 years then a reason for comparative analysis would be warranted as it is now there is no basis for comparism. The highest number of years a Nigerian leader spent on d saddle was 9 years which was Yakubu Gowon, and where Nigeria was in 1974, Gaddafi's Libya was not there in 1976 when is comparing like for like with equal number of years put in, Gowon being 1967 - 1974 & Gadaffi 1969 to 1976. Credence must be given to Great Awolowo for being Gowon's economic guru d way Okonjo Iweala is Jonthan economic guru, Awo/Gowon made Nigeria one of d wealthiest nation on earth by 1975. There is no comparism, illetrate Gaddafi only started developing his country only when he came out of d cooler of sanctions after spending b years doing nothing for his country only promoting terrorism with d billions of dollars earned from oil. To compare an illetrate like Gaddafi with d ingenuity of an erudite scholar like Awolowo who was d man behind d scene steering d Nigerian economy is an aberration & a misnomer moreso not forgetting Nigeria fought a fierce civil war between 1967 - 1974 and still came out a million miles above Libya is something to celebrate. |
If I were to swear those words written up there, to God who made me I doubt I would take a Governor ship post or any political post for that matter because those people who would bring all those bent deals and contract did not swear an oath. Why then should I put myself in arms way. ![]() |
I Mr/Mrs/Ms xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Solemnly swear that I would perform my duties as constituted and spelt out in the constitution so help me God, in the event of any kind of deliberate, accidental or non-deliberate misappropriation of public funds I shall face the full wrath of God. This being the case since what man cannot see or witness God who is ever omnipresent knows our true intention even b4 we commute it to reality so help me God. Cancer would be fertile in my house- hold if I eat my people's money, so also would the grim ripper be a welcome august visitor in my house if i cheat my people no matter how little so help me God. This would be lovely swearing in recitation for our leaders. I am sure b4 they steal 1 kobo again they would remember the words they have swore too. |
A renowned Islmic cleric, Sheikh Buhari Musa, has said that but for fervent prayers from well-meaning religious leaders, the country would have disintegrated in the face of its social dislocation and political upheaval occasioned by the successive ascension of self-seeking political leadership into office. The cleric, who condemned the lack of sincerity of the political class which was why the nation had been far from development, stated this in Ibadan, on Friday, in a Ramadan lecture titled "Good Works" and held in honour of the late strongman of Ibadan politics, Alhaji Ariyibi Adedibu. He said the quest to amass wealth to suppress the masses, rather than the desire to offer selfless public service, was the reason most of the current political class in the country desperately seek offices, while commending the “good earthly works” of Adedibu, which, the cleric said, would continue to speak for him in Aljanna. The Ilorin-born cleric, therefore, called for the re-wording of the oaths of office and allegiance for public officers to include curses and calamities that will befall them if they steal public funds, adding that the current practice where politicians just recite “empty words” would not prevent corruption. “Those in government collect ‘elephant’salaries and allowances at the end of every month but find it difficult to pay just N18, 000 to workers. And we want things go be alright in the nation. What kind of country is this? “Look around the country, you will see that there is more security for bullion vans carrying money to strong rooms than there is security for lives and property because money has taken over our reasoning, while the citizens are daily slaughtered in an atmosphere of insecurity,” he said |
6 year single term. - crazy idea |
IBB go home, ask for forgiveness and sin no more. |
“Kini mo ji, Ki lo ju” – Means “wetin I steal wetin you throw in “ Yoruba”, it is like putting a tyre round someone’s neck for stealing sweets or something grossly insignificant. Even though I believe IBB deserve a Caterpillar tyre round his neck the reply of OBJ was a hit below the belt and leaves a lot to be desired. ![]() The title of the tread says it all; IBB put a credible question to OBJ, ‘what did OBJ do with the unprecedented income his regime earned over 8 years when(OBJ)was at the helms of affairs of this nation. ![]() In return or reply to this salient and relevant question, OBJ “ daa si rough” which means in English OBJ went ballistic abusing IBB in the most unpretentious and agberoish language, “ omo a fool @ 70 is a fool for ever” that word carry weight ohooo. ![]() Certain things should not be said in public by our public officers but this salvo wey Baba Iyabo fire na one hell of a salvo. There is a saying the guilty are always afraid, with OBJ’s undignified, unrelated and unwarranted salvo, baba Iyabo is really behaving like a Bush Man and because of that “he is guilty as charged “ nothing to show after earning in 8 years more than we ever earned in the previous 40 years, shame to you Baba Iyabo. ![]() |
some of you people who don't know about Petrol Chemical ENGINEERING,HERE IS SOMETHING POSTED IN 2007 INCIDENTALLY ON NAIRALAND. You must be a very bad student when you were in school. If you asked your lecturers for samples of crude oil they would have shown,it not a big deal.I had my BSc in Unilorin and the first time i saw Crude oil, gold and some other minerals was my 300Level. Its not a big dealThank you o jare!! |
KnowAll, i think you need to take a chill pill. I studied Geology also (and not in any Oyinbo University), and believe me when i tell that 95% of my class never saw crude oil b4 graduating. those that were opportuned to was as a result of their industrial training with oil companies. Majority of our field trips was majorly centred around Rocks/Outcrops and bitumen deposits. So stop typing rubbish here. That maybe you Geologist because Geology is the study of rock formation which to some extent is farther from the topic at hand although related, but Petroleum Engineers, Petrol Chemical Engineers, and to some extent Geophysicist that would be insane. It is like a Medical student never seen a human remains whether in form of Caracas or a Mannequin. ![]() |
I asked that question because you wrote that oil recognition should be common place in Nigeria because we have plenty of it. I can assure you that not up to 20% of qualified geologists in Nigeria have seen crude oil before. This is a fallacious statement and a slap on every Geologist, Geophysicist and Petroleum Engineers that trained in Nigeria. Could someone please put this man to shame and out of his misery just because he went to “Oyinbo University, he don sabi pass everybody be dat he wan dey form” Since I did not do any of those courses I cannot carry your crosses for you. But I would however be very surprise that a Petroleum Engineer or Petrol-Chemical Engineer from any of the ‘FUTA’ has never seen oil b4 graduating. |
This is the Governor's statment, not KnowAll. "According to the governor, the ministry officials did not only confirm the substance as crude oil but identified the blend as Bonny Light, a high-grade of crude oil preferred by European and American refineries due to its unique properties, according to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Dr Muyideen Akorede. Governor Ahmed said the find was subsequently verified through independent analysis by a private oil company which also confirmed the government’s findings. He said further tests were being carried to determine if the crude discovered in Ara Orin was in commercial quantities, adding that the finding was a welcome boost to the state’s economy and its emerging reputation as one of Nigeria’s most conducive " |
Why the hating? Crude oil is a curse!!!I have already said it already, in the hands of Nigerian Managers it is more than curse, it is "epe"(generational curse), today is a day of mourning in Kwara ![]() |
Definition of Irony:Another 'simpleton' who cannot contribute positively to a topic. ![]() |
When did abokis become your brothers? Isn't Kwara in the North?Ask Jarus if he is aboki or yoruba? and if he is Yoruba, and you are Yoruba what does that make him to you? ![]() |
Maybe this would give the Hausas the gusto to break away now since they now have oil. Awon oloshi! Why are u calling your kwara brothers oloshi!!! |
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaJump to: navigation, search Bonny Light oil is a high grade of Nigerian crude oil with high API gravity (low specific gravity), produced in the Niger Delta basin and named after the prolific region around the city of Bonny. The very low sulfur content of Bonny Light crude makes it a highly desired grade for its low corrosiveness to refinery infrastructure and the lower environmental impact of its byproducts in refinery effluent.Other grades of Nigerian crude oil are Qua Iboe crude oil, Brass River crude oil, and Forcados crude oil. The Cabinda crude oil is a common grade of crude oil produced in Angola. The Bonny Light is in high demand specifically by American and European refineries. It is therefore a major source of income generation from the oil rich nation. Oil pass Oil, Nigeria is blessed, we just have some idioooots In Poweeeeer for tooooo Loooooong!!!!! |
Is there something driving Igbos from their homeland? As Hausa people turn enough people to ‘suya’ meat reach, this man still ‘tanda’ for Jos. Abeg Igbos is there something sacred and cursed about your land that a son of the soil would rather be at the mercy of those religious bigots in Jos than to be in his home-state. ![]() |
ACN should stop behaving like rascals, they want regional integration, ‘at least na go build the railway reach Ondo State boundary b4 na begin make noise’, na so-so talk, we have been hearing Regional Integration since 1999 when AD was in power which later became ACN, what have they achieve with all these integration meeting after meeting, although I love the principle behind it, but do they really have the will to carry it out. To start with, ACN should take over Lagos-Ibadan Express way from the Feds and improve it, that project no concern Ondo State, the 3 states that transverse this project are all ACN Sates, same thing the Lagos-Sagamu-Benin expressway. If ACN makes a head-way on these 2 projects Iroko sef, would know ACN are not a talk shop yearning rubbish. I beg make na leave my Governor alone oh. ![]() |
Have you personally, ever seen crude oil beforeThere is no reason for me to have ever seen crude oil b4(that is not my field). I am Neither a Geologist, Geophysicist nor a Marine biologist, Soil biologist or a physical Geographer. Even with the poor state of our university, one would expect at least our Geologist or Geophysicist students to have taken excursion to Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta State for their field studies, and if they don’t, they should have ample oil samples and specific specimen in their Labs which would put credence to the as certainty of the product. Your question is irrelevant to the discuss here. ![]() |
^^^ So I guess the oil discovered in Kwara is 'scoopable' abi? First of its kind in the world! Una level done highFOR YOUR INFORMATION: Oil in Bayelsa is almost scoopable. The cost of extracting it from the ground is 'almost' neglible. |
johndoe is another fisherman ass licker like beaf. I no blame them wen dem dey collect correct egunje from Mr Clueless Jonathan, me I don't talk my own. let us fast forward to June 2015, because the next 3.8 years this lot would bore the life out of everyone. |
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Even though our education is shiiiit these days, please do not insult our intelligence, are you telling us the ministry officials who would probably be Geologist, Geo-physicians and other soil and physical geographers don't know the diffrence between tar-sand bitumen and oil. I begi, it is like u telling me a 'Masai' in Kenya does not know the diffrence between a Lion and a Leopard. Oil is not a remote or scarce commodity in Nigeria, we breathe it, we are blessed with it, and it sips uncontrollable from our ground, it would be unfathamable to think a qualified Geologist in Nigeria does not or has never seen an oil residual b4. I beg to differ. ![]() |
Oil has not being tapped on shore for some time due to the terrible environmental degradation in Ogoniland. Both d IMO & Anambra basin has oil but it is not tapped because of d evil perpetuated in Ogoniland. To that farmer that found d black gold Sipping out of d ground on his farm, I would say it is a curse rather than a blessing not with the Maladministration in the oil industry and the Humpty-Dumpty at d helms of affair in our nation. If Kwara were an independent nation like Ghana I would dance a desirable dance for them and going by recent political experience one can say they have had some fairly decent hands on deck when it comes to Governance in that state, but unfortunately they are tied to d apron of those drunken sailors at d centre who are prepared to spend every single cent they can lay their filthy hands on, on a debauching spree, harloting & bigstouting to the shock and amazement of d God fearing people of Kwara. The oil mineral deposit found in Ghana was greeted with fanfare & opportunism, why is this I once asked an elated Ghanian friend and he said so long one cent of their precious metal would not be managed by those drunken louts from your country, it calls for celebration and special thanks to God. |
The Governor should start delivering otherwise there would be an internal challenge within ACN over his intransigence. |
