kellycute: they hate our confidence bro. An average Naija man gat guts even if money nor dey pocket na dat one dem hate us for. Those African babes for dubai dey love to follow naija guys cos we like to spend and f..ck hard lol. The easiest way to get them especially Uganda and kenya babes is to introduce yourself as Nigerian and flow with pidgin English, couple with your swag, they gon fall like pack of card.
Bolowolowo: Poor performance from our Rugby Sevens team. Nigeria needs to realize that if it hopes to mingle with the likes of the Springboks in the future, then it needs to invest immense resources towards training and facilities and start a path towards a professional league.
On another note, good morning to all in the house. Looking forward to good weekend of footy.
We've not invested in athletic and football Na rugby you dey talk about.
I trust Nigeria sha....they will use that avenue now to divert and embezzle funds and you'll start hearing stories soon.
tbaba1234: Choose your best players home and abroad. If we can get top European prospects of Nigerian origin to pay for us as youths, we can boost their careers and there is a good chance that they will play for us in the future if they reach their potential
Our goal should be creating the best national team players in the future. Open the floor and let the players compete. Then, make your selection fairly and without bias. That way, we lay a good foundation for the future.
The best local lads will make it and so will the best foreign lads.
You boost your odds for future talents. There should be no room for sentiments.
God bless you for this sir.
County of birth should not be a barrier to playing for Nigeria. We need the best crop of players in our youth teams. CATCH THEM YOUNG!!!
Some of these players we are courting and trying and trying now should have been capped at U17 and U21 levels.
Some of the players that were denied in the last U17 and U21 world cups because we are trying to help our home grown talents will end up with good clubs a few years from now. Then, we'll start sending delegates to beg them. Let's get them in early.
Most countries at the U17 world cup have a better system and better facilities than Nigeria, yet they still had foreign based players in their squad. We are here fumbling and forming nonsense pride.
The Nigerian national teams should be open to every Nigerian all over the world irrespective of their country of birth.
Humility017: Mazi.....I don't know how to sugarcoat the truth oooo.
you see Delta state is one of the few states in Nigeria with high level of literacy and the people there do go to school but the corruption in their heart and blood is second to none....likewise bayelsa state...and Edo state also come in distance 3rd.
corruption amongst this folks is sickening... warri north is the richest LGA in Nigeria with allocation of over 5B naira annually but go there....you'll see nothing to show for it... when the money comes.... the youth leaders, chiefs and all will rather want their cuts instead of channelling the money for development and capital projects....likewise bayelsa where the warlords all have certain percentage from the state budget....
the budget of this two states is more than of many Africa countries but you won't see anything to show for it....
Mazi just imagine the asaba stadium the shameless delta government serve the super eagles for the few matches played so far.... and what pains me most is that the governor will still come sit in such a stadia not worthy to be a European team training pitch..to watch the super eagles struggle to play in such turf....
it is shameful.... corruption smells in Niger Delta with the headquarter in Delta State...remember then in my school Nadeltsu election was like a governorship election...some bigwigs often troop in from delta state to manipulate elections for their stooges...apparently because of the bursary cash that can be embezzled from such post.......
I grew up in Asaba and I totally agree with everything you said. That state is messed up despite the large sums of money pumped into the state. That's stadium is a nothing to write home about. 10 minutes of rain and Asaba becomes flooded.
First time since 1999 someone from Delta north is a governor and it's still same old story.
Do you know the last time he played a game of competitive football Last season essentially many many moths ago.
It's only in Nigeria a player who has not played club football for over six months is called to the national team. THATS UNACCEPTABLE.
There are hundreds of Nigerian players within the age range playing across Europe. That have got better justification for an invitation. Do you know how well they will do if invited ❓
That's a very weak excuse infact it's laughable that clubs will not release players. So therefore l will select players who don't have clubs. Chei see reasoning.
Maybe you have very low norms, values and no sense of what fairplay means. But l do.
It's simply WRONG and you are clutching at straws mentioning Walcott its an irrelevance.
He has a club and he's having work permit issues. That will be sorted out later this month...clearly you've decided to skip that news here.
If my memory serves me right he still trained with the arsenal first team before the start of the season, so it's not like he's been sitting at home drinking beer.
Yes, clubs will hardly release their players since it's not in the FIFA calendar. Azubuike has to miss the first game because of this. I guess you didn't read that here too.
We had hundreds of players across Europe. And they can not all play at the same time. Kelechi has delivered everytime he was called upon. My cousins who were at the stadium told me he was given a standing ovation the last time in Asaba.
You are in no position to judge my values, norms and sense of fair play because you're no better....
You're trying to make excuses for Sven Goran Erikson for taking Theo Walcott who didn't even play 1 minute for Arsenal to the world cup.....the biggest soccer tournament on the planet.
I bet if rorh had taken an unknown Nigerian kid from Sevilla academy to the nation's cup you would have sent assassin's after him.
komekn: The basis for selection should always be about consistent continous top class outstanding performances in your club and league NUTTIN ELSE.
It's a problem because it means you are denying players OPPORTUNITY. Nobody has a birthright to play in the national team because he got thier first.
How do you know if those players who are doing great things in thier club will not do much better ❓ But because they are denied opportunity we will NEVER KNOW.
We saw all the consistent continous top class outstanding performances in your club and league that Theo Walcott put up for Arsenal to deserves a place in the 2006 world cup squad or the world class performances Jesse Lingard and Danny Welbeck put up to deserve being called when we know they were shitty.
Spare us the epistles Apostle Righteous, I don't support the selection process but as Supernerd has said earlier the coach needs players that will be released by their club sides when we need them. Nwakali is available and has always performed when called upon, so I see no reason why he should be left out.
I have always felt that Dennis was more technically astute than Musa and KC.
But of course many found that hard to swallow here.
So committing a player and making him get a card means he's more technically astute than KC and Musa.....same Musa that ran riot on the Iceland team, something your "God help the queen" superstars couldn't do against Iceland. Continue we are watching you in HD
Thoughts on U17 We all saw the signs from the first match. But we all felt it was tournament fever and they will get better as the tournament progreesed.
NO, their performances didn't improve even when they came from behind to win. We could see the lapses and it was glaring Garba Manu wasn't telling the boys what to do.
They ran after the ball leaving their positions, misplaced passes, generally uncordinated and lack the Nigerian flair we've always seen from the previous sets.
Moving forward, I pray the few bright sparks in the team go ahead to have a good career.
Garba Manu should be replaced. You can't leave the best at home and expect magic. He's being compromised and if he continues it will get worse than this. Shame on him and the NFF!!!
There should be a thorough and unbaised selection process. Early camping and proper funding should be made available. We must have proper preparation.
We should go with the best kids irrespective of where they are born. Their place of birth should not be a barrier to them being selected to play for the national team. I totally disagree with the moniker that insist we should leave the under17 for the local lad.
As long as you're good enough even if you're born in Singapore or Bangladesh, you are as Nigerian as the local boy born in ijebu ode or Nnewi.
Leicester's Wilfred Ndidi made 69 touches against Palace, and won 18 duels - along with team-mate Ayoze Perez, the most of any player on the pitch. Ndidi also made eight tackles and won possession 10 times, both game-high contributions
simiife: chai, nawaoo,i tot there was 1 arsenal player that broke his legs too dah yr,d leg break comot from him body
Eduardo day silva. That was against Stoke city I think. Those stoke city defenders that year....Ryan Shawcross and Danny Higginbotham. Ramsey's broken leg was against Stoke city while that of Eduardo was against Birmingham city. Arsenal had too many injury players that year....Ramsey, Eduardo, Wilshere, and the baba himself Diaby
komekn: The double standard hidden agenda and lack of clarity comes entirely from the NFF.
Ebere Eze trained with the first team over two and half years ago and it should have been obvious he has some good potential.
Why would they wait for 2 and half years plus ➕ it would be very reasonable to believe you are not wanted. And so therefore you should look elsewhere.
Now that he has blown we have remembered that he exists. It's the a similar situation we had with Aina NFF fumbled his application for change of allegiance with delays. Then we selected a dead Echiejile over him.
Meanwhile we selected an Osimhen who had done absolutely nothing to justify AT THE TIME a call up. We even called in Nwakali from the dead wood forest of an obscure league.
Why did the NFF not invite Eze at least a year ago.
The NFF lacks integrity and is open to multiple questions about how they have conducted themselves.
Someone spotted his talent over 2 Years ago and he was invited to train with the team, you were very vocal against that move. Someone also spotted Osimhen's talent even when he wasn't performing and he was also invited to the team.
We had the likes of Mikel and iwobi ahead of him that's why we've not really considered him. Now it's his time to shine and he's forming jagaban. If he thinks he has blown and he's too big for us we wish him the very best in his international career. Soldier go, soldier come, barrack remains.
Two starters for Chelsea refused us and we're still here and someone is disturbing us over a championship player.
If he accepts fine, if he doesn't we remain Naija!
No team work, no cohesion, no game plan. They keep running in different directions all the time. It seems Garba Manu doesn't talk to them in the dressing room. because they always come back to play the same pattern after all the huffing and puffing aimlessly.
komekn: Maybe KC should find way to go to French league one.
Considering that Slimani completely flopped comparative to his high scoring times in the Portuguese league. 40 game's in the EPL and 9 goals is nothing to be proud about for a striker.
Although his record is better than KC there is still hope if he can find a less competitive league. He may just resurrect his career. One should note that Slimani also flopped in the Turkish league on loan.
Somehow this forgotten Slimani is now flying high in the French league.
A Nigerian player won the French league player of the month, instead of congratuting him you talked about someone who didn't win and his failed career in England and turkey, then you ended up dragging Kelechi into it. Bros you no dey tire?
You better not qoute me with that your Winston Churchill dictionary.
