@Nchara just one of our lost brethren. Dude deserves special attention by the interrogators. I would appreciate they give him 25% more beating for having the insolence to soil our Yoruba rep. Same goes for the SS BH guy who would point out his own father's home with the left hand. (His family members in PH should be allowed to whip him too). They both deserve extra beating. |
Stuff it.he's dead. whatever the reasons, there's one less potentate in the world. |
Essentially the supporter of APC militia just got $25m funding from the chadian government. |
Rumors(will get links to confirm) Dealdey finished 2011 with N10m. Jobberman recieved startup funding of $1m last year. wakanow makes money through its portals though it has offline centres for walk-in customers. But they are primarily a web business. Confirm your data before acting on them. |
Wakanow, DealDey, Jobberman |
Micodon, there is no 'best' language. The 'best' language is the one that enables the development team/focal person to 'best' approximate the customers needs/expectations. and customers are as different from each other as A is from B. Sometimes they want tried and trusted. Others want code so easy to build that accountants could do it by drag and drop. others want speedy code that can be stored in small memory spaces. You must fit the tool to the problem and vice versa |

Did you pursue this dream further? just curious. |
he's an indian programmer. came here to post links a while back but I deleted the ones where he spammed unrelated threads. |
Just posting this to clear any misconceptions about some topic movements in recent days. The Software/Programmer market forum is the place for recruiting programmers and also for advertising your skills to prospective employers. Please note that any threads requesting programmers or offering employment in some form to programmers/designers will be moved to that forum. The same holds for software releases ( microfinance bank software, etc) that you may wish to advertise. Or Ebook requests. I will include a link to the forum in the next post. thanks and have a lovely programming year. |
The effects of the fuel subsidy removal might end up not being as bad as we think. Metinks the fuel subsidy will only affect people who are strictly salary earners. The rest will simply markup their products to adjust for the new standard of living. While the salary earners will have to go back to pre-salary increase habits or hope NLC can negotiate a new minimum wage. |
Operating systems and the programs that run on them. |
moved to romance. |
if you are still in this situation, here's some quick advice. snap pictures of your products with white background or black(if the item is white) and post them on your facebook profile. put your phone number there and tell them you will deliver anywhere in nigeria for fee ( free delivery in akwaibom( add your cost on top)). try that. |
^^bukky. quadruple gbosa!!!. you too much. To contribute, my career plan for the year MIGHT be this: 1. Pass strategic certifications. 2. Network wider within and outside my department. 3. Champion one change within my team/department to contribute visibly and strategically ( safety, process efficiency, staff welfare, cost savings/reallocation etc). 4. Deliver all responsibilities ahead of deadline and above expectations. |
People really find it hard to read and understand. You cant tell me you didnt read what OAM4J wrote down there. Let me simplify it for you. Threads rise or fall based on how recently they were updated and how many recent updates there were. If you create boring threads and people decide you should be ignored, then your thread goes off the front page. Guess you should look at the mirror to find out who's pushing down your posts. |
Simple. reduce the salaries of government functionaries. |
I came across this advert a few days ago. I would like to know if anyone has had any negative experiences with this company before I go ahead and commit funds. Any comments ( negative or positive will be appreciated). |
moved. |
Fortran 95 should be more useful for you. Did some back then in school and it was less stressful compared to '77. check online. cool feature is the statistics library that came with it. I see fortran as the mathlab for our forebears. master it and the transition to mathlab or some other scientific language like R or Spotfire shouldnt be too hard. all the best. |
I am not the one posting inflammatory articles on Nairaland, you are. Besides educated men do not make decisions on only a part when there is no direct correlation between that small part and the bigger entity. |
He's doing the christian thing. Overcoming his baser/animal impulses to voice out a truly divinely-inspired opinion. If his mission ( as given by christ) is to save as many people as possible for the kingdom of God, what right would he have to deny them forgiveness. |
3 things. 1. I find this hard to believe. How are we sure that Adegoke actually said this. 2. The opinion of one man cannot be used to gauge the intentions of the other men. it makes no sense. 3. The reference to the man's native language is an attempt to also use the same accused person to tarnish the image of a much larger entity ( his tribe). I would rather people tried to be more critical in their thinking rather than allowing themselves become inflamed every time some hothead makes a statement. |
new nigeria-focused site requires the services of article writers, rewriters and editors. applicants may apply for all three if capable. said articles will be 500 word max with extensive research and images to go with said posts. prior experience in using creative commons images would be an advantage. applications should include links to previous work done or personal blogs. links to facebook notes and linkedin profiles are also helpful. applications should be sent to qmailservices@yahoo.com pls include your quotes and articles-per-week rate (be truthful, if you can only write one really good article per week let us know, we can plan around that). thanks and Happy New Year. |
if u already have a lot invested in vb6 you don't have to lose all that. just move over to vb.net and master it. I believe in seeing people gain mastery in one language before moving around. once that is done, other languages are a cinch. besides your focus on desktop apps suggests you are interested in Rapid Application Development for business purposes. Vb6 and Vb.Net are not the most elegant languages around but they are unquestionably the most productive. more RAD apps are done in some VB variant than other languages and there are oil companies running on VBA-powered spreadsheets. gain mastery, then explore everything else (you won't be a great programmer or a useful one if you can't write at least in one scripting language e.g python/php/ruby and one crossplatform language e.g java) all the best in your programming career. |
@Fayimora we are not expected to get into fights on threads. You cannot kill threads simply because you dont like what they are saying. This board is not my personal fiefdom, neither is it yours. We are MODERATORS. We moderate. We dont start fights or get into them. I personally invited Kobo back because i believe she has something to offer. @kobo polite conversarion does help get the msg across. Dont get discouraged. Evryone should contribute in their own way so we can all grow. @Omo_to_dun and others. Dont allow temporary flamewars to stop you helping others on the board. I have read lots of your posts and I am impressed at the humility with which you describe your programming skills. This thread is still open to all who care to contribute. |
All great qbasic programmers must prove themselves by coding either of the 2 great games : TETRIS or TICTACTOE(Noughts and crosses). For something more realistic @ this stage: Of course you can as well simply 1. write a program to calculate the current age of a user given his date of birth ( day, month, year of birth). 2. rewrite no 2. as a subroutine in a qbasic module and write a simple program that uses this module. 3. write a program to take a line written as: Monkey/Dog/Goat/Cow and return them one after the other as a.Monkey b.Dog c.Goat d.Cow 4. rewrite no 3. as a subroutine in a qbasic module and write a simple program that uses this module. 3. create a file with 10 lines of text (type it in notepad) and write a code to return the even numbered lines in the file. 4. return the odd numbered lines in the above file. 5. write a function that takes in a single number and returns a corresponding line from a file. e.g takes in 3 and returns the 3rd line from the file. 6. update the function in number 5 to return false if the number of lines in the file are less than the number given. 7. code a simple program that asks basic questions and stores the responses for each new user on a new line in a CSV file. that would go nicely with your previous program. basic details needed could be: Name, dob, age(your code 1. above should help derive it from the dob) class/form/level, matric no/registration number. |
