AndSunGorilla: While academic brilliance doesn't mean seyi olofinjana will be a good coach. However how he was able to combine chemical engineering at lautech and playing for crown fc then still surprises me. That tells me he must be super disciplined, knows how to prioritize, extremely brilliant, intelligent and very strategic. Also he went further and still combined professional football in Europe with obtainine a masters at the same time!!! That guy's brain must be on overdrive honestly. Well said.Seyi na real butty boy and highly discipline, then i was in university of Ilorin while he was in Lautech Ogbomosho and still playing for Kwara United and member of Nigeria world university team to Italy alongside another good friends like ex Polish international Emma Olisadebe who was also a student of University of Ilorin and my buddies Dayo Ajoge who made his Nigeria debut against Jamaica and Yemi Akinyanju. Honestly it is not easy for any science student talk less of Chemical Engineering student playing in NPFL. Emma Olisadebe couldn't make it as a computer science student, though Emma talent was extra ordinary and to me then he doesn't need university degree. Hope to see revival of University games cos talents abound in those days. |

benji93: It's nice you are holding out for a friend. Olofinjana may have been a chemical Engineering guru, but the form of intelligence required for excellence in one field may not be necessarily relevant in another. We will have to wait and hope he turns out ok, and he finally breaks out. He is after all a son of the soil. And I must say your reply is probably an appropriate answer to the comment before it(which is probably a joke), but it may not speak to Seyi's standing as a coach. Yes you are right.Hope to see him turning out good as a coach. |

Either of two front lines in a 4-3-3 formation, with Aribo and Ndidi behind them Oga Chriskels that Samuel Kalu is not convincing though my opinion |

jihday: I like Victor Moses but the truth is if he had played for the 3 lions he'd have had at best about 10 games. The only tournament where he played really well for us was 2013 Afcon. He's just brexit Ahmed Musa Truth be told Victor Moses had a good eagles career. Apart from 2013 Alcon he was phenomenal during 2018 World Cup qualifications but has Moses rescind his decision on his retirement from eagles cos I don’t understand all these knocks on his commitment when he was a national team player. He has retired and good for him to sign for Inter. Oh played for 3 lion would have seen him have 10 caps but with the likes of Conte as England manager don’t be surprised seeing him having 50 caps,so you cannot say but good for him he picked Nigeria and had wonderful times with Super Eagles. Good we are having young guys like Simon Moses,Samuel Kalu,Chuckwueze coming up.My wish for them is to surpass the achievements of Moses and Musa. |

TheGoodJoe: Thank you for this. First of all, Philippe Trousierre was not in the country for a long time before the game. I doubt he even selected the squad. There was even debates that if he was not returning, Sinclair should handle the match.
Sinclair might have prepared the team or maybe Trousierre came back to prepare but I doubt he drafted the list since the call ups were made before his return from his temporary exile.
Kog45 seems to recollect a lot of specific data of past events and I would like his spin of it. eazyjakes has done justice to your posts. Trousier was in charge but having serious issues with NFF and lost the trust of Nigerians even players due to his football management and formation. Truly before the last match Monday Sinclair was in charge but Trousier came in on the eve of that match, meaning he may or might not be responsible for the team list but he was on the bench. He was later sacked after the match. Monday Sinclair took over till Bora Milutonovic was appointed as a coach and this really affected our build up to France 98. |
Politics › Re: Kwara Fire Service Justifies Abdulrazaq's Proactive Measures, Curtails Outbreak by Kog45(m): 9:12pm On Jan 12, 2020 |
HonMike: The Kwara state Fire Service earlier today once again prevented what could have been described as a black Sunday in Ilorin as another fire inferno was put off at Faagba area of Ilorin.
The incidence occurred at No 7. Faagba Street behind Emir's Palace Ilorin where a story building of about four rooms and five shops were exposed to fire but thanks to the quick response and efforts of men of the state Fire Service who immediately arrived at the scene of the incident and contained the fire.
The quick response of the Fire Service men to prevent the inferno which would have caused many damages to people in the neighbourhood can not be far from the reason that Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq had taken some proactive measures few months back by acquiring more fire fighting vehicles for the state command of the Fire Service.
It will be recalled that the state government had in November 2019 procured more fire fighting trucks for the state fire service to empower it to operate more effectively during fire outbreaks in order to save lives and properties.
Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq during the presentation of the fire fighting trucks said "We procured these fire fighting equipment because of the safety of lives and property. It is important we safeguard lives and property. The firefighters have been selfless in what they do to the government and people of the state. So, we need to build their capacity and keep them up to the task.”
And that decision was justified earlier today as the fire outbreak in the said location within Ilorin was immediately put off by men of the fire service. The response team was able to put off the enraging inferno because Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq had earlier done the needful.
http://royaltimes.net/again-kwara-fire-service-curtails-fire-outbreak/ kai wahala dey o,so curtailed fire outbreak is now an achievement. Why are we always politicizing everything in Nigeria. Instead of praising gallant fire fighters you are here praising the governor as if Kwara fire service did not curtailed any fire outbreak during last administration. |

Someone raised a similar point after watching a leganes game, a few weeks back.
As regards the super eagles, Awaziems is gradually becoming an important player Laganes games? pls can you give us your statistical analysis on how Awaziem is a better player than Omeruo this season. I remember Omeruo had injury this season which limited his appearance with SE and this gave Semi Ajayi a chance and also gave Awaziem good opportunity in Laganes. Despite his injury he still had 12 appearances while Awaziem had 9 appearances with Laganes but always happy seeing two Super Eagles players in Laganes starting lineups. But based on yesterday match i saw a very good Awaziem and poor Omeruo but nevertheless i will not pick Awaziem over Omeruo as CB. |

Can you comfortable say Awaziem is a better CB in the SE jersies than Omeruo? Chief even in Laganes Omeruo is rated than Awaziem. Truly Omeruo had a woeful match yesterday and to be candid Awaziem had a better game but you know what some are waiting for this but i will never used a match to rate a player. Honestly it would be joyful if Awaziem is performing better than Omeruo meaning SE future is bright. |

charlesemeka85: it's not simple because indirectly you are of the opinion that rohr should reside in nigeria and comb the whole of ijebu ode and ahiazu inorder to unearth the next messi and cr7.
in this era if you are not doing it in europe as a player you are not good enough. countries like Brazil and Argentina boast of the best clubs and leagues in the american continent but how many of the players from their local scene makes their national team? Well nothing to say again. It's left for NFF to decide and left for Rohr to accept. I think NFF and Rohr would work it out for the growth of Nigeria football whether he reside in Afghanistan or Australia. The contract is to be signed with agreement from both parties and any grey area would be sorted out. The present NFF employed him in the first place and i think it's still the same NFF,so no issue. |

charlesemeka85: do you have an idea of how many young talented uncapped players we have in europe who are working hard to get a call up? so rohr should ignore them and focus on raw unproven talents in suburbs and villages in nigeria?
oga the u17 and u20 coaches should do that. days are gone when such methods worked and we all know how it panned out the last time.
you made mention of oboabona, mba and others keshi gave a chance in the team from the local scene, those players claimed to be in their early and mid 20's as of then but where are they now?
when last did you as a soccer loving nigerian make out time to watch any match in the npfl? and if you do can you mention at least 3 players who deserve a chance in the current super eagles team?
for your information the best talents football wise in the local scene are in academies, amateur and nationwide clubs which is the main reason scouts from europe focus on players from this clubs and leagues instead of recycled dead woods in the npfl
do you have an idea of how many academy and amateur club players that leaves the shores of Nigeria yearly? can the number be compared to that from our npfl clubs?
why is it that our youth team players from the national team are in high demands unlike those in the npfl? My point is simple,Pls read my comment again. |

TheGoodJoe: Clemence Westerhof, Bonfrere Jo and other coaches did a lot to develop me... Finidi George.
Some people think when Westerhof found the likes of Oliseh, Amokachi and Finidi George, they were finished products. Forgetting our coaches put in a lot of work to turn these gems into polished stars that became the toast of Europe.
Sitting in Europe and expecting Zidane to drop from the local league, is far from hilarious. There is a lot of work to be done for our national team coach to stay in Europe lounging. Thegoodjoe I got your point wella and i want to say nothing wrong if Rohr can devote little time to watch Nigeria league. Truly Westerhoff era cannot be compared to this era but one thing is glaring Rohr need to look inwards and see what is really going on.Nobody is forcing any player on Rohr or trying to create quota for home based team. It's simple Ezenwa was Rohr best home based player but the same Ezenwa has been finding it hard to be number one in various club he has been keeping for in the same NPFL. The question is who are the keepers displacing Ezenwa in Nigeria league and funny enough we have issue in that department, meaning Rohr has not done enough when it comes to monitoring of Nigeria league. Oh I see someone cited Akpoborie's comment regards NPFL.I want to tell anyone who care to listen that Akpoborie does not believe in anything related to Football in Nigeria so i don't take his words serious, not an authority when it comes to rooted local football discussion. I think Clemens Westerhoff got it right from onset and kick start with local boys cos he resided in Nigeria and was able to discovered a lot of players.Mind you we have enough professional players as at that time, players like Stephen Keshi,Chidi Nwanu, Samson Siasia,Austin Eguavoen, Andrew Uwe, Ademola Adeshina,Peter Rufai,Wilfred Agbonavbare, Dominic Iorfa,Dahiru Sadi,Andrew Uwe,Chris Ohenhen,Mutiu Adepoju,Mike Obiku,Uche Okafor,Efan Ekoku,Rasheed Yekini,Richard Owubokiri,Emma Okocha,Mike Emanelo, Jonathan Akpoborie etc but this did not disturb Westerhoff from looking inwards for good players. But can Rohr achieve this feat?NO cos we have enough players to pick from outside especially FBs.I think NPFL deserve Rohr attention matter what, may be the league can be rescued. There is no way he will not see one or two players that can complement his team or just give them necessary exposure.I remember how Thijs Libreght discovered Sunday Johnson and Oluwole Johnson from NPFL and if not for his early exit those guys would have made it. I remember Sunday Johnson made Sydney 2000 as only outfield home based player, the guy was a combination of Finidi George and Tijani Babaginda. I know some don't want to hear Keshi's name but he did it with Oboboana,Mba though career wise they are stagnant but he won Afcon with those guys. Time for Rohr to give us great eagles cos he have enough talents to do it for now with player like Osimhen,Chuckwueze,Aribo etc and watching NPFL would raise the status of Nigeria league a little bit. |

tbaba1234: About Siasia,
NFF can offer a level of support but they shouldn't be compelled or blackmailed to. As long as all of Siasia's wages have been paid. NFF has no obligation to Siasia.
It is just like, if an ex national team player falls into poverty or is ill. NFF has no obligation to help. Any decision to assist should be voluntary.
The player was paid for his services. What has salary or no obligation got to do with what Odegbami said. It's simple as ABC my man.NFF has every right to ask FIFA what really transpired that led to life ban. Siasia only coach Nigeria team and such ban must have comes from any of Nigeria matches but with what Odegbami wrote, not responded to a mail shouldn't have led to life ban. |
