Not like this does not happen anywhere else but I will use Nigeria as a case example.

Do you know how many times people have subdued and taken these robbers to the police station, only for the robbers to get out a day later and then unleash unimaginable violence?? A lot of people like you and me have been rendered parentless, childless or permanently disabled. Some of them live their lives regretting they did not apply J.J.

Some of these are the people we see on the streets, cover our noses and turn our faces in disgust.

That, my brother, is the reason for jungle justice in most cases especially in Nigeria.

whatever a man has done no man deverves to die like that, we don't even kill animals like that, then why should we do such to fellow homosapiens?
Nobody said it was ok to burn . . .they are more humane ways to do it.

You never answered my question anyway. and like someone said, have you ever witnessed a sister or mother or little baby been raped by armed robbers . . . or they shove a gun into your mouth . . I know poeple these things have happened to, they could not defend themselves and the animals are still on the streets raping, kidnapping and maybe still giving offerings in church. Some of their victims have been disabled for life - the types of ladies you would see on the road and shake ur head in disgust.

what would you do??

well the law states that "the force you use in defending yourself should not exceed the force applied by the assailant" (or something like that) so you are not allowed to shoot someone coming @ you with a baseball bat. like they say the law is an ass
That is true, but in the example i clearly stated, what if the person already has his hands on your neck and is chocking you? , or better still, what if the person has a gun??

Simply put, what if the person is out to kill you??

CrimeRe: Stop "jungle Justice" by kokoye(m): 3:30pm On May 27, 2009
@ tayoccu

I understand you - I chose not to watch the video because I hate and detest violence. Although I'm think the executioners might be applying their crude methods to pass a message, there are more decent and subtle ways to do it.

But let me ask you one question:

If you are held in the neck and being chocked by someone whose sole mission on earth is to kill you or ur child(God forbid), what would you do?

CrimeRe: Stop "jungle Justice" by kokoye(m): 2:39pm On May 27, 2009
@ post.

Reason for jungle justice: People have been pushed to the wall. The legal system maybe works in other parts of the world.

I dont support jungle justice but Nigeria is a unique place in every way due to our culture and poverty mentality.

1. In Nigeria, if you take a robbery suspect to the police station, the same suspect will come back for your head the next day.

2. In Nigeria, due to the poverty / poverty mentality, almost every judge / police officer can be bribed - then the suspect will go scot free and then you become the fool. These same culprits will come and oppress you with their ill-gotten wealth.  cry

3. The prison terms in Nigeria are a joke. Corrupt officials / armed robbers / drug peddlers spend less than 2 yrs in jail then they come out to enjoy their spoils. Poor / young people see this and they want to follow suit - 2 yrs in jails in nothing compared to the millions already stolen or stached in bank accounts.

4. In Nigeria, scapegoats need to be make out of some people. See the rate at which kidnapping is blowing up  - deal with some culprits severely and sho you mean business.

Jungle justice in Nigeria does not mean these evil acts will stop but guess what, it'll reduce it cos most Nigerians do not want to die.

la!:
with shows like "THE KOKO MANSION" the push for equality of the sexes will definitely suffer a century long setback,Nigerian women have no voice, for as long as corperate entities continue to openly abuse womanhood  in the quest for insignificant material gain.
Well, anybody can offer 'goodies' as much as they like, but it is up to the ladies to accept them - I'm sure nobody is forcing any lady to apply for the KOKO mansion show.

It is up to you and me and the ladies in question to put an end to the abuse of womanhood. The love of money and fame is the root curse of the abuse - bottomline.

If nobody applies for the kokolette stuff, of course it will shut down and they sure wont try it again next season. But i'm sure we all know there are millions of applicants in line already.

may be am always lucky, though i don't go out with any guy i meet, i consider alot before giving guys opportunity, ever since i started dating, i have never been gilted by a guy, i always quit my relationships any time i noticed that the guy is no more responding well, am very sensitive, so before u jilt me, i make sure i do it first, that why i won't feel the pain so much, as per giving second chance, i have once given a second chance to someone i jilted and it worked out good.
You are not lucky, you lack confidence and have low self-esteem. That's the only reason you brag about breaking up first.

I'll be surprised if you are a lady.  You sure do sound like a girl.

what happens to 4giveness of sin
Abegi, e go tey before I forgive any wife wey cheat on me o! especially when I have always been loving and faithful.

Even if i forgive, I sure wont forget it lailai and I go take am react. So it's better we go our separate ways.

A wife that will cheat on her husband (when she's been taken good care of in every way) can kill the man. 99% of ladies just dont give it away like that without having feelings for the man . . except for financial or emotional reasons.

al-qaeda:
MY BROTHER, THATS WHY I SAID CAPITAL PUNISHMENT IS THE BEST. KILL ON THE SPOT. NO JUDGE. NO TRIAL. NOTHING. STRAIGHT DEATH. PUNISHMENT MUST BE HARSH IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS AT DETERRING OTHERS.
LOOK AT SAUDI ARABIA, YOU'LL NEVER HEAR OF ANYTHING GETTING STOLEN THERE. ITS INSTANT MUTILATION. THIS IS WHAT NIGERIA NEEDS. AN IRON FIST.
Well, I do not support that.

Reason: A lot of poeple have been convicted or killed of crimes they did not commit in the first place. Truths have come out after several years in some cases. But as far as Nigeria is concerned, we know who the main culprits are: all the people there on top and the kingmakers. They need to be dealt with without any respect.

If you hold a leadership position and you use that position to embezzle money at poeples expense, then I got no respect for you.

, and the main reason Nigeria is still this way is because these leaders have taken our laws for granted - they know a poor man will turn his back on good or evil for a plate of amala. They also know nothing will come out of any revolt - maximum: a few days in jail (and dont forget a rich nigerian's jail is different from the regular jail).

Poverty is the main problem. Every single nigerian is directly or indirectly connected / related at at least one of these evildoers and who will normally want a sole benefactor to be killed or put in jail?

As long as we hold on to that stupid culture of ours, sorry is the word for my country.
CrimeRe: Death Penalty For 419 Scum by kokoye(m): 7:01pm On May 19, 2009
I still strongly believe that for Nigeria to move in the right direction and be taken seriously, some untouchables should be made scapegoats out of.

You put them in jail only to get out bragging in a few hours. Others see this and dont mind the kind of punishment.

, and not everybody is destined to be a business man or woman. That's why you see a lot of people who have been forced to go into private business and theyve been struggling and suffering for ages.

Just pray for favor and luck to be at the right place at the right time . . . and please NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS even if your have to step to the side for a while.
