Let me clear my throat.....mmmmmmmm. ....For the T and the P. I didn't say any thing. Sha. Just cleared my throat. |
Well done on the potty training. I did potty train a couple of pups in the past but I started from an area away from the resting and play space of the dog. It did both major and minor ones in that area. Then I moved to a grassy area away outside the compound and it took along the major and minor business to that spot also. I agree Cooper is still a puppy so may not yet hold pee but what you can also do is to take it out to that same spot to pee after a drink of water. It may now begin to attempt not to pee within its play area and start giving you signals it wants to go out to the spot. This may be winces or unecessary movements or to and fro movements to the exit point. If these signs go unoticed it will lead to that circular spiral movement that leads to a pee session. Great work you're doing though. |
Looks like some shiiet is about to hit the fan. |
Olu I love this lean business look of this Mali. ...It also looks athletic. Do you know I've not come across a Mali before. I'm thinking when I move soon to most likely a place with more yard space i can take in one more canine. It might be a Mali. |
Napoleon mastiff? Congrats for developing this new breed. Say you be kind to let us have breed specific temperaments and other standards. ![]() |
I was once cut up in a situation where I wanted to watch a match while nor at home and I did finally with rojadirecta.com. com. By the way I have portable mobile wifi with me so I don't know if that was an advantage but it was seamless 90 mins. |
Never been a fan of mix breeding but Suzie looks good. Short coat means low shedding and low maintenance at least as far as coat is concerned. Athletic agile look. I won't be suprised If the ridge back was one of the species used in developing the boer boel. |
This is a price threat . I advice anyone with interest to buy now ooooo before the price reduction time will expire oooooo |
@darealistic....hazad chewing on shoes and jumping all over you can be controlled. On the jumping part I'm almost too sure when it gets exited you go on to hug and cuddle it. You just told the dog I'm happy you're this exited and jumping all over me. Next time it gets all waggy tailed coming to jump at you .....turn your back to it....or ignore it's exitement. Tell it to sit. When it does sit reward it with a treat or then give it attention and affection. Repeatedly with consistency it will learn to sit and look up to you even when excited. on shoe chewing it may have been tearing at some old stuff while it was a puppy while you urged on or didn't stop it which the dog translates as approval. You have to start registering with the dog that chewing on shoes is not allowed in your pack. You could start by bringing an old shoe around. When it wants to do as it does, that is chew, you say no....bad dog...and separate it from the shoe. Make sure it does not go into a tug with you so it doesn't think it's play. Repeat until when it sees a shoe and it just stares at it without chewing or totally ignores it then you say good dog...and reward it with a treat and a hug. Consistently done it will associate good behaviour and reward with not chewing and stop. |
Olu noted. |
I believe you mean a rare breed and not bread. Besides what's rare about it? Simply a pure breed or not. |
Thumbs up. |
Further more did Cooper try to bolt out of the car when you got out? Did it display separation anxiety ie it felt you wanted to leave it behind? Get Cooper to hop into the car and out only on your command. If it's not told to get in the car it should be made to be content with staying back unless otherwise told to come along. As it begins to enjoy riding with you confidently it might go to the other extreme of feeling it must be part of every ride. The commands I use on my canines for rides are..." max in the car.....and .....max out of the car" . When I'm stepping out they will escort me to the car but will all sit and wait until any of them is invited to join me. If there's no command they will walk away while I rev to depart. Cooper can get to that level of balance which you can achieve with it. |
On the jumping on the body out of being exited I controlled that with same gsd I mentioned by getting it to sit before I give it attention or even a treat. That way it understood it was my preferred position for any further action of a hug, treat, affection or instruction. As you know they are very eager to please and will fall in line in no time. |
Finally. It even looks a Coc now. |
Now who's picking up that mic. ![]() |
Was Cooper shivering during the ride? How did you stabilise it in the car. Was it crouched on the back sit floor or sat atop the back sit enjoying the view tongue out? It's good to know it's reaction as time goes on as you socialise it the more so you can get its manners right. Let it know it's designated sit or position as a front sit ride now will make it think that's it's place and would not understand why it has to move to the back sit later. Do not forget to also expose it while doing fill up runs. I remember a gsd I owned years back took an offence to the fuel attendants poking something into the side of the car and would charge at an attempt they made to collect money for fuel purchased. Be careful to note signs it gives when it needs to pee or poo while taking a ride. It will save you a clean up later. |
It's an old trick. If they call when I have time on my hands and I'm in the mood to make a fool of a fool I just listen and play along allowing the fool to burn j his credit. |
Why do you wanna cross breed. Just curious. |
You gotta start trying to get them to get along. Supervised time together should be introduced while you the pack leader sets the rules. Cooper gotta know it's place in the pack and behave accordingly. |
I've had a mixed bag of them attend to me. On one occasion though after being on admission for 9 days and I bore the rudeness of a particular nurse anytime she was on duty. I wrote a thank you letter to the hospital for taking me through the period of my illness. I ended the letter with a vivid description of the unprofessional conduct of this particular nurse making several references which included a particular night I was running a temperature she did not respond to my alarm call only for me to stagger to the ground floor to find her watching Africa magic. At the end of my letter I recommended she be sacked or I will ensure no staff from my organisation used their facility again. I got a call days later from a female who was sobbing on the other end. She identified herself as the mean nurse at the facility and was on the verge of loosing her job cos of my letter. She apologised and pleaded that I wade into the matter as she was a single mum with a kid to fend for. I responded by telling her that she should know better by treating people nicely while doing her job and reminded her of the many incidents while I was on admission and she was on duty. I extracted from her a promise to turn a good leaf if I was in any way going to change my stand. I eventually did not withdraw my letter but got some of my collegues who used that same facility to be on the look out while I called the CMD to give her a chance. |

Great insights op. The main task I think therefore is for sales people to have a well defined value proposition that keys into the customer's need. A superior and unique value that your competitors will find difficult to imitate either in quality, pricing or both delivered in the simplest possible way to the customer. As for those that are complaining that they can't read, it's too long. I pity you as what the op is dishing out free is worth tonnes in money's worth. He's even giving it from an experiential point but if you are conversant with the academic side he's on point so far. So read. |
You can say that again. |
Date of Birth: 01/12/2015...... With this date of birth this puppy appeared way before its time. Just thinking. |
Prodigies I'm getting a suprise at your words ooo. I thought Trish was the one now you're winking at magpies sis. Oh well our falcon search will have to be strictly outdoors cos I got some nieces all around. Finally pls stick to the dogs. |
Terriers are a particular breed but there are various types of terriers just like you'd have various shepherds. Irish terriers, scotish terrier etc although I haven't heard of this particular one. |
I wonder why fayose is obsessed with GMB's health. Again I laugh. He does not know what time it is on his own life's clock. Even if you asked him. |
Interesting comments. Young men afraid of targets for getting that life is filled with every day targets. Young people who do not know the value of expanding their network forgetting that your network goes a long way to open new and boundless opportunities. Fear of challenges. Comfort zone bubble makers. Only tangible value assessments. Take up the challenge at the mfb. You'd soon learn to swim and know how to create value for that is what will last. A final secret young man look for an uncommon skill, ability, capability, resource and give yourself a target to be one of the few that is sought after to add that value then you'd know what it means to be negotiating from a point of strength. Most of what I see here as advice are responces out of fear. Most seeing the impossible and not the opportunities. |
It looks good for four months. |
