SportsRe: McCrory: Anthony Joshua Has So Much Frailty Made Ordinary Fighter Look Dangerous by koning: 9:01pm On Dec 17, 2019
AJ was terrible in that second fight with Ruiz. Though he won, the way he fought was embarassing. McCrory is right. I am happy he won, but i do not want to see him fight that way again.

He should go back and stick with the way he fought Dillian Whyte. For now, he has zero chance against "Pan handle" champion Deontay Wilder.
CrimeRe: He Lived In New York For 45 Years, Got Killed In Ikorodu (Photos) by koning:
Origin:
Living in Ikorodu did not kill him.

New york that is the most dangerous city in the world.

Someone killed him and his death was irrelevant to the location.

Why he was killed is another matter. (
Don't mind all these paupers who do not own a piece of block anywhere in Lagos. What has living in Ikorodu got to do with his murder. The Hungarian woman that was killied in Ikoyi nko?!!.

Besides, there are no details of how and why he was killed. Ikorodu, Lekki and Ajah are actually linked. Only a small lake separates them and these criminals move around. Anyone could be killed in any city in Nigeria. the only safe place are interior villages. One just have to take precautions.

sassysure:
Don't delve into what u had no idea how it works if u are not igbo. This is not a house in the city but a village house. Even if u are the mad o e in the family, I mean a real mad one who roams the street, u must have a roof in your father's house. The person who built it doesn't matter.
The last born might be doing better than the rest and decide to pull down the old house that have and build new one. The house automatically belongs to every body in that family. That is how it's done. If u don't want your poor brothers to stay with you, then build something for them. Simple.
This building of house in the Obi is a very strong issue in Igboland. Sibling entitlement is strong. My dad built a bouse in the village in the early 80s. We have never slept one night in that house. It was completely taken over by his brothers, sister and their family.
This is because we have always lived in the city. Goes home like once in a year.

Dad later built another one is his own personal piece of land given to him by the Umunna. The flip side to this is that he is held in very high regard by the rest of the family. He can do no wrong. So i sometimes understand the rational behind not chasing your brothers out of your house built on the ancestral land. It's a very delicate issue in Igboland.

By the time the case gets to the supreme court and actually heard there, everybody will be dead.

This is Nigeria and all these wealthy, thieveing politicians know how to play the game. Especially OUK.

Stop being stvpid. You are just gloating over the woman's problem. That's evil. There is no scam in what the man did. He simply wants to go and hustle alone. A wife and 3 kids might hold him back. By the time he drops a Mercedes Benz 2017 model for the wife, all will be forgotten.

As long as he pays your house rent in Nigeria and gives you money to feed, leave the man alone. He simply wants to hustle for you all without hinderance.

FamilyRe: Must My Father Be The One To Receive My Bride Price? by koning: 5:32pm On Nov 11, 2019
Op, i understand how you feel about your father, but what does your prospective husband think?. You are so much focused on your own issues, that you forgot about the man and his family that will actually pay the 'Bride Price'.

I don't know much about Urhobo culture, but no self-respecting Igbo man will take bride price to the bride's maternal family. Even if your father and his relatives live in a rabbit hole, wearing rags for clothes, that is where an Igbo man will pay his bride price.
So i will advice you to buy your father some nice clothes. P..imp him up and get him ready to receive your bride price including the kola nuts that come with it. After that you can do what you like with your wedding.

Your husband will be foolish to give any other person the bride price. It has serious consequences in Igbo land.

PropertiesRe: Real Estate Never Depreciates: How True? by koning: 11:13am On Nov 03, 2019
onegig:
You guys just come online and post half truths and whatnot.

Please show me one single advert from 2005 where a plot of Land in Lekki 1 or 2 was 500k.

Yeah , real estate might bring you profits but for all its so called ROIs it's capital intensive and except you are doing large scale purchases which is out of the reach of the average Joe on the street, you are just wasting your time.

A plot of land in Ibeshe Ikorodu was generally sold for N250k in 2006/2007 . The minimum wage as at then was N13,000 and NYSC corpers were being paid 9500 or so. Petrol was N35 or N45 as at then, now it's hovering around N150. Inflation was at 18% as of January 2007.

After all said and done as at today, that same land can't fetch you more than 2Million in the same Ibeshe Ikorodu.

That's a paltry 600% return on investment after 12years. If you factor in inflation rates and CPI you would understand the profit margin isn't more than 10% . That's fucking outrageous for a long term capital intensive investment.

If i had a residual income of ONLY 250k as at 2007 to invest,I am sure i wouldn't be receiving 2million as a worthy return after 12 years. So you guys should stop touting lands and houses as an eldorado investment option. If you had so much residual income laying fallow you can go tie it up buying landed properties as an hedge against inflation but if you have limited capital and have a viable biz that gives you 30% to 40% returns on investment year on year please plough such funds into the biz. You would be better off.
You hit the nail right on the head. It's a horrible investment if you do not have lots of idle cash. If you put N5 million on a piece of property with the hope of recuperating the N5million in 6 to 10 years, that is a very bad investment move in my opinion. The worst are people who build block of flats to rent out.
The best investment in property is to build the very house you will live in. This way you don't have to waste money that you would otherwise put in your biz paying rent.
SportsRe: What's Your Most Heart Breaking Moment In Football? by koning: 2:00pm On Oct 30, 2019
madridguy:
Some of my top most heartbreaking moment in football.

USA 1994: NIGERIA VS ITALY
Just as discussed on a thread here yesterday, Roberto Baggio gave me heart attack that day which took few days before i could recover.

Ghana/Nigeria 2000( Cup of Nation ) : CAMEROUN VS NIERIA .... FINAL
Immediately Victor Ikpeba penalty was disallow my BP nearly cut, it was a very sad Sunday evening.

SYDNEY 2000 ( OLYMPIC FOOTBALL GAME )
Nigeria Vs Chile
This particular match every Nigeria sport papers tagged Agali vs Zamarano tongue Victor Agali was our Ahmed Musa of that tournament tongue Chile beat us like small pickin and i cannot forget that morning.

Trinidad and Tobago 2001 ( FIFA U-17 )

One of the best Nigeria outing in junior level. This tournament produce Nigeria player like Femi Opabunmi, Temile, Sambo and co shocked Due to time difference, every match for this tournament is midnight Nigeria time. Chai, futbol don suffer me tongue
Our opening match was against France which we won but they revenge for Final whooping us 3-0.

Sinama-Pongole and Le Tallec those boys shows us pepper that midnight.

Korea/Japan 2002 ( Fifa world cup )
Nigeria vs Sweden

Our darling Super Eagle needed that match so badly as second match of the tournament after we have lost first game to Argentina. We started the match well, with brilliant performance but last last Henrik Larssen do us strong thing. To go school that day na war tongue
We are on the same page. Any time Nigeria loses on the international stage is painful. Especially when they are playing well. I thought we would get to the final in USA 94.

I don't give a rats azz for Chelsea, Man U, Arsenal etc. Only the Champions league interests me sometimes.

Nwoko is giving himself awards by way of "longthroat" Alex.

It is glaring that this useless award was set up by Ned Nwoko himself on a suggestion by his PR man Alex.

He simply wants to remain relevant for the Governorship race in Delta. And Alex is chopping on that.

Look at how "Pastors" are shamelessly advertising their churches here. Could it be because Op said that paying the N100,000 is not his problem.

Too much aguu(hunger) in the land. They are all hustlers.
FamilyRe: My Only Brother Has Been Afflicted With Mental Illness Because Of Land by koning: 3:06pm On Oct 06, 2019
Stay away from pentecostal churches. They cannot help your brother. It's all fraud. I do not see any relation between what happened to your brother in Minna and the land matter in the village.

What he needs is some serious personal therapy. He needs to reconnect to the world again. He is just hiding away in the village. I suspect he is paranoid schizopherenic. Arrange with some boys to take him out twice a week to a nice joint. Make him stay there and booze with them, they can add some babes for a stronger effect. maintain this for a good one month. His brain will automatically delete and auto reset.

Try the numerous joints around New-Heaven, Enugu. That running back to the village all the time, is a sign of withdrawal. That church prayer in the midst of a large, shouting crowd, in the name of deliverance will scare the hell out of him.
My one kobo advice.

The root of all these depression in Nigeria is lack of money.
