Try diamond estate off the new ShopRite Novare mall road , the roads are interlocked and at least I have never seen it flooded b4 even during the last heavy rain. It has security, central water system but no central power supply. Road from estate to lekki epe express way is paved too due to ShopRite I guess. Only duplexes in estate. There are also many estates on that ShopRite road.

Politics › Re: Kadaria Ahmed Hosts Kemi Adeosun On Channels Tv's The Core by Konquest: 1:20am On Apr 09, 2018
VAIDSNG:
Efforts to ensure that citizens comply with the Voluntary Assets and Income Declaration Scheme (VAIDS) before the March 31st deadline have ramped up in the last few weeks.Taxpayers all over the country have been encouraged to regularise their tax status by taking advantage of the penalty-free scheme which began on the 1st of July 2017. To this end, Kadaria Ahmed hosted the Honourable Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, the Executive Chairman of the FIRS, Mr Tunde Fowler, as well as analysts, members of the press and an online audience, in a televised panel discussion on the program, The Core, which aired on Channels Television at 8pm on Wednesday the 7th of October, 2018.

The Honourable Minister stated that only 6% of Nigerian citizens currently remit tax, a staggeringly low statistic that the scheme is determined to increase. When questioned about the sustainability of the tax scheme — especially considering that these tax laws have always been in existence, but have hitherto been unenforced — shestated that the increase in the availability of datavia national schemes, such as the BVN and the Automatic Exchange of Information Scheme with the United Kingdom and other participating countries has made it easier to track incomes and assets owned by Nigerians who reside in Nigeria and have assets both within and outside the country.

Questions were also raised concerning the use of the data gathered, and the challenge of corruption within the MDA’s, who often collect taxes but don’t remit them.

Executive Chairman of the FIRS, Mr Tunde Fowler, assured the audience that the data collected is strictly confidential. He also stated that the FIRS has invested largely in technology, and that the agency is looking into implementing cashless tax remittance to minimise leaks and increase efficiency of tax collection.

“For me, this is about building Nigeria,” stressed the Minister of Finance, “We must stop relying on oil. This is one of the things we must get right, and it could transform this country.”

The VAIDS scheme extends to corporates, individuals, agencies, MDA’s and business owners alike, and there will be penalties for all entities who do not take advantage of the amnesty period, which ends on the 31st of March, 2018.

MissCokie:
Men can be so egocentric and most times self centred, without considering if their body language, style and general lifestyle is affecting them.

I'm Miss Cokie , and here are Top5 characteristics of men, a woman should not consider for marriage.

1. Over Sabi : This kind of guys won't give you a breathing space, because they will presume that you're dull and unintelligent, even when you're way brilliant and smarter than him.

2. Over Protective Men : This kind of guys can kill for your sake, in the name of protecting my baby. shocked . The most annoying part is that, you don't have any privacy, because they will go through your mail, chats and text messages while you're sleeping.. That's a female thing sad

3. Over Jealous Men : Have you ever heard of the word, Nah jealousy go later kill you? , YES!, That was created because of them. This set of men, can get jealous over a 5years old baby smiling at you. They can easily get really angry and do nasty things.

4. No Future Ambission Men : Baby please give me little time, we will scale through!, after 15years of dating and endless abortions lipsrsealed .. Procrastination is very bad, especially when a man is showing you signs of a chronic procrastinator...

5. A Man Who Does Not Support You & Your Career : This set of men, will criticise your work, your skills, your life, your social life, your parents and even your next life. They don't want you to be ahead of them socially, financially, academically and mentally, so they rather device various strategies to keep you down and locked up.

Here you have it grin . please let us learn to value each other, in respective of our gender, tribe, and religious differences..., although it came in late. kiss

^^^^^^
You don't seem to know that guys can be coded... it is when you finally get married
that you will see the REAL THING... same with the women who are very good
pretenders... grin
Celebrities › Re: Chika Ike: Why I Was Called Agric Chicken In Secondary School by Konquest: 11:34am On Apr 03, 2018
TrendsVibes:
Actress and entrepreneur, Chika Ike took to her Instagram page to narrate how she was constantly bullied while growing up because of her body and height.

Read her story below…

“I never liked my body growing up and was constantly bullied about it. I was so skinny and was the tallest in my class.

“I never looked forward to morning assembly because I’ll have to stand at the back of the class or class presentations to talk about “your best friend “ because I’ll be described as the thin girl.

I can remember eating all sorts to things to gain weight but nothing worked, I really craved to have some flesh on me.

“I was called all sorts of names like Lepa, thin girl and Agric chicken because I was so skinny and tall.

“So I started modeling as soon as I graduated from secondary school because modeling agents thought I had “the look”.

Today the reverse is the case, I’m on all sorts of diet programs and exercising every other day to keep the weight I’ve always wanted in check, I feel bad after licking ice cream or eating anything with high-calorie content because ill have to suffer in the gym.

Growing up slim wasn’t cool now its cool. The truth is you have to constantly love you, you can’t be cool to everyone, the world will always have a standard of what you should be, who you should be and how you should live your life.

If you want to make changes or improvements let it not be because of pressure or people’s unconscious bias about you.Do it for you.

You should hold your pen and draw your life plan… Do you… Mind your business…..Run your race.

Do not let anyone define you or rush you with their timeline. We all have different stories, journeys, and different clocks. You are you and that is your power!

The first husband of the Asaba-born Stella Damasus [born April 24, 1978] was Jaiyejeje Aboderin [born 1971-2004]
and he is one of the sons of the late Punch newspaper founder Chief Olu Aboderin. Big J ['Jaiye Aboderin] slumped
and died, after a lunch meeting and a basketball game on December 3, 2004.

Jaiye and Stella are pictured in the first picture below!

She has a right to remarry anyone after "Big Jaiye" passed on since she was still very young at 26 years
and had two little girls.

@StellaDamasus later got into another marriage with a guy called Emeka Nzeribe which didn't last long...
it lasted for 9 months.

Her marriage to Daniel Ademinokan is the third... and it has been going on STRONG from my observations
so Stella should be left alone to enjoy her current marriage which seems to be going on strong... and wish the
couple the best!

Doris Simeon will find her own man in due course if she opens her heart to receiving love again
'cause she is intelligent and pretty as well!

Politics › Re: Only Yorubas Can Save Nigeria In 2019 by Konquest: 9:52am On Apr 03, 2018
ImperialYoruba:
There was no disaster in 2015, the acquisition of power from Jonathan was a rescue. Jonathan had no clue that the country was headed to a collapse.

If anyone in Yorubaland thought Buhari was a competent politician we would have voted him to victory in his three earlier attempts. We knew he was not good and avoided him, even when he paired with Pastor Tunde Bakare, a Yoruba, we were still not convinced of his credibility.

Jonathan disqualified himself from victory in 2015. Jonathan improved Buhari's relative status and made him electable.

So for once you all need to be aware that Yorubas are deeply rooted in Nigerian politics, contrary to your opening line.

Being in opposition of power and the ruling party is no joke. You all spent just four years in opposition and have lost all your staying power,...just four years! Yorubas spent over thirty years combined fighting opposition governments in this country. The central position of victory-maker that Yorubas occupy today is earned through the many lean years of playing power from the wings. No other tribe in Nigeria has a track record in comparison.

Therefore, we do not need the pleas and bombardments and harrassment from people who have no stamina for political competition and partisan confrontation.

Here is our plea to those who plead for us to abandon Buhari and APC....what alternative do you have? Give us a candidate and platform that Yoruba has confidence and trust in. If you do that we will abandon Buhari.

The burden is on you to answer to our plea and convince us. Waiting...

Politics › Re: "The Tragedy Of Lagos" By Professor Pius Adesanmi. by Konquest:
afroniger:
Nice read. But I must say that the author is merely being naive. In the world of politics, the likes of Tinubu will always exist, whether we like it or not. It is just the nature of the game. There will always be ex-leaders who will attempt to self-perpetuate themselves long after they've left the scene. Some call them 'Godfathers', others prefer 'Kingmaker' or 'Shot callers'. Awolowo, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Ahmadu Bello, Buhari, Adelabu, Adedibu, Rasheed Ladoja, Olusola Saraki, Bukola Saraki, Olusegun Obasanjo, James Ibori, Theophelus Danjuma, Atiku Abubakar, Orji Uzor Kalu, Peter Obi, (Okorocha is trying to become one too) e.t.c. They have all successfully played the roles of influencial 'kingmaker' in one form or another and at some point in our political history. Some more successful than others, but all of them share this same attribute.

As far as I am concerned, the only thing that has set BAT apart is that he has managed to somehow retain his influence (which I attribute to 'luck' on his part since many of his contemporary ex-governors weren't so lucky in self-perpertuating themselves on the political scene of their states after office for as long as he has). Even within Lagos PDP, Bode George is their central rallying figure. The idea that without Tinubu, 'slavery' or godfatherism will suddenly end in Lagos is but mere wishful thinking, particularly in a state as rich and important as Lagos. There will always be ambitious politicians willing to project themselves. And they will continue remaining relevant until their luck runs out, or until they die. undecided

Beautifully written from beginning to the end! ... High Five!

Pius Adesanmi's bolded submissions RIGHT BELOW in the last 3 paragraphs of his Facebook post
AS REPRODUCED HERE by naptu2 are way off the mark... I don't get his point!

"But you are always going to be as strong as your weakest link. Ambode is less read than Babatunde Fashola. In the long chain of Tinubu boys, he is one of the least sophisticated. It is therefore no surprise that he is the one threatening to undo an architecture of slavery, exploitation, and personalization of the state that has been twenty years in the making."

Ambode is NOT less read than Babatunde Fasola IMHO... I don't get the guys's point... is he trying to get noticed or what? undecided

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Twenty Million People Apply For 100,000 Railway Jobs by Konquest: 11:33am On Mar 28, 2018
Realsman405:
India's state-run railways have received more than 20 million applicants for about 100,000 jobs, a railway ministry official has said.

The number of applicants is expected to rise further as the deadline for applications will end on Saturday, the official told Press Trust of India.

Online tests will be held for jobs in the railway police, locomotive drivers and technicians in 15 languages.

Unemployment is a huge challenge in India where millions are out of work.

Officials say they are overwhelmed by the response to the medium and low-level jobs.

"A lot of applicants are overqualified and even PhD holders are applying for the technicians job," a railway official was quoted by the Economic Times newspaper as saying.

The Press Trust of India news agency reported that more than five million people had applied online for the positions of technicians and locomotive drivers alone.

India has one of the largest railway networks in the world, used by around 23 million passengers daily. Built mostly under British colonial rule, the railway network is the backbone of public transport.

With more than a million workers, India's railways is also one of the world's largest employers.

Government recruitment drives have attracted massive responses in other parts of India, too.

In 2015, authorities in India's most populous state, Uttar Pradesh, received 2.3 million applications for 368 low-level government jobs.

During the same year, several people were injured in a stampede when thousands turned up to join the Indian army in the southern city of Visakhapatnam.

In 2010, one man was killed and 11 others were injured in the crush when more than 10,000 candidates gathered to join the police in Mumbai.

And in 1999, the government in West Bengal state was deluged with responses when they advertised 281 jobs and received nearly one million applications.

1921 Emir of Katsina. Look at the embroidery, the eternal knot appears so anyone who says that came from Sardauna is very wrong.

The eternal knot as a matter of fact has north African nazarene origins. Some trace it all they way back to sarkin Gobir mai sakandami (the cross bearer) who was a medieval Christian king of Gobir. Others argue it's the result of the Christians failed venture into hausaland in the middle ages. Either way, that symbol is very old.

Besides, the Hausa and Yoruba versions of the eternal knot are very different today.

I like the perspective that you brought by posting the 1921 picture of the Emir of Katsina with
what looks like a version of the Eternal knot or Solomon's knot... which is even different from
the Arewa Knot[Dagin Arewa] design!

By the way he wasn't wearing shoes? Why did he go about shoeless?
Northern Nigeria produced a LOT of leather at that time.

AREWA KNOT [DAGIN AREWA]
Arewa Knot is among those symbols which their hidden secret have not been discovered and its origin remains unknown. We have been told that it represents “Unity in Diversity”, but sometimes history is not what we have been told.

The Arewa knot is an emotive symbol of Northern Nigerian adopted by Sir Alhaji Ahmadu Bello (Sardauna of Sokoto) as a political identity. The symbol was adopted in the 1950s when Nigerian elites were preparing for political independence from Britain. (Ochonu 2008)

The symbol represents “Unity in Diversity”, which was encapsulated in the “One North” philosophy that was used to fight for representation and privileges for Northern Nigeria and to counter what was perceived as Southern Nigerian persecution and political domination. (Ochonu 2008).

Similarly, with the Arewa Knot losing its true meaning or yet to be discovered, it only remains a symbol used for decorating houses and clothing and adopted as Northern Nigerian emblem; Northern Nigerian political identity (in the 1950s) without a true meaning.

"CHRISTIAN ORIGIN"
Among the recent findings is the work of Ibrahim A. Waziri (2009) which he gathered while trying to trace the origin of this symbol and significance. He visited Arewa House which contains all documented northern Nigerian historical artefacts and archives, but there was no trace of its origin, let alone why Sir Ahmadu Bello the Sardauna of Sokoto adopted it as Northern Nigerian insignia knowing of its Christian origin.

In his assertion (Waziri, 2009), the Northern Nigerian insignia which is of Christian origin was adopted by Hausas as the Northern Nigerian emblem (political identity) under the guidance of Sir Ahmadu Bello Sardauna of Sokoto...

Each of the following images are variations of the symbol known as Solomon’s Knot, imbolo, the Celtic Foundation Knot, or the Nigerian Knot, and each of the variations has been held sacred by a culture in the many thousands of years since it was first drawn by early man.

BrandSpurNG:
From ₦1 million five years ago, the price of a plot of land in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos has soared to ₦6 million, representing 500 percent increase, correspondent has learnt.

It was also gathered that the land’s price per plot might soar to ₦8 million before the end of the year due to increased demand by investors and home seekers, who are positioning for opportunities inherent in various industries coming up in Lekki Free Trade Zone (LFTZ).

According to the President, Perfection Real Estate Investors Cooperative Society, Mr Niyi Adeleye, the price of a plot of land for earlier subscribers who bought into the vision was ₦1 million about five years ago, now that the land is currently selling for ₦6 million.

He disclosed this in Lagos while allotting plots of land to subscribers of Perfection Cooperative Estate Phase 1 in Ibeju-Lekki, last weekend.

He urged home seekers to take advantage of the opportunity to achieve their dream of homeownership.

Over 500 members of the cooperative, who subscribed to the estate were allocated land at the event witnessed by the paramount ruler, Onileki of Lekki, Oba Olumuyiwa Ogunbeku.

Earlier, the Oba congratulated members of the cooperative for the milestone, urging all allottees to be grateful to God and be part of Perfection Real Estate.

Adeleye said the cooperative society was on a rescue mission to provide the solution to the problem of the society, which borders on housing.

He pointed out that it has been discovered that housing provision was capital intensive, hence the need to come together through cooperative society by pooling resources together to provide wealth and also help the government reduce the nation’s housing deficit.

He described Ibeju-Lekki as a strategic location, adding that LFZ was the hottest investment destination in Africa.

He said the cooperative assets base was now worth ₦1 billion, promising to grow it to ₦50 billion and float a real estate investment trust on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) in another five years.

According to Adeleye, plans are in top gear to commence construction of 75 units on two bedrooms, 30 units of three bedroom and 30 units of one bedroom bungalows on first 40 plots before the end of the month.

He added that 60 units of one bedroom, 90 units of 2-bedroom and 90 units of 3-bedroom were being planned for another 40 plots in the second batch.

Car lovers spend a lot of money trying to make their machines stand out. Some will invest in custom rims, tinted windows and other body features, like the 'CR7' on Cristiano Ronaldo's Bugatti Chiron. But for many, specialized and high-end paint jobs are what make the real difference.

A custom paint finish can totally change the look of a car, giving it an entirely different personality. That's why car manufacturers let their luxury car models come with a range of impressive, but expensive, paint options for those lucky to enough to afford it.

Here’s just of a few of the most expensive factory paint options around

1) Range Rover ChromaFlair N5.2m

https://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img923/569/wlvTeC.jpg

ChromaFlair finish is offered in 8 psychedelic designs on the $127,000 2011 Range Rover Autobiography at a cost of $14,500 . It causes light interference, with the surface reflecting and refracting so that it appears to change colour as you move around the car.

2) Bentley Mulsanne Custom N10.8m

https://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img922/1715/jvMwzI.jpg

Bentley offers 115 standard colors, 24 two-tone selections, and four styles of hand-painted accent stripes just for its $290,000 Mulsanne.

https://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img924/9853/1PanvE.jpg

In 2012, BMW offered a limited edition M3 in Frozen Gray or Black, adding approximately $20,500 to the purchase price. The Frozen surface was prone to being easily damaged, and BMW made customers sign a waiver that voided the warranty if they did not maintain the coat in unspoilt condition.

5) Mercedes-Benz Alubeam N6.2m

https://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img922/2510/1WXUAB.jpg

Available exclusively for SLS AMG owners. Chrome, polished silver, it's mirror like shine can't be missed. How do they do it? Well at $17,000 per paint job and no robots here, the extremely labor-intensive paint process involves 7 separate layers done by trained experts. It's like spraying liquid metal.

ImadeUReadThis:
Ilorin was a small town in the Oyo Empire by the beginning of the 19th century. Afonja, Baale of Ilorin, who also held the title of Are Ona Kakanfo of the Oyo Empire, rebelled against his king, the Alafin of Oyo, in 1817. (There is no space here for the reasons for his rebellion). In order to sustain his rebellion, he was desperate to build a large and powerful army. To that end, he did a number of desperate things.

First, he invited the people of nearby villages to move to Ilorin and turn Ilorin into a large town. Many people so moved, but most refused.

Secondly, he reached out to many prominent friends all over the Oyo country, and invited them to come and live in Ilorin. Some accepted his invitation and came. Among these was a rich trader named Solagberu from Kuwo. Another was a man named Alimi, a Fulani man who had long lived in the Oyo country peddling charms from town to town. Afonja employed Alimi to make charms for him and his army.

Thirdly, Afonja decided to exploit a religious situation that was causing trouble in the country at the time. A Jihad movement had started in Hausaland in the north in 1804, generating wars and stormy Islamic evangelism there. It was started and led by an immigrant people called Fulani. The Fulani immigrants were few among the large Hausa nation, but very many of the Hausa who were already Muslims sided with the Fulani – and thus made it possible for the Fulani to defeat the ancient Hausa kings and make themselves rulers over Hausaland.

Some of the violent Jihadist preachers trickled south into the Oyo country. Everywhere they came, they were causing a lot of commotion by preaching violent and disrespectful sermons against the Oyo kings and chiefs, and against Yoruba culture in general. Yoruba people, with their tradition of religious tolerance, were alarmed; and angry crowds began to attack the preachers. Afonja decided to exploit the situation by issuing a general invitation to the Muslims to flee to him in Ilorin, promising to give them protection there. Thousands of frightened Muslims fled to Ilorin, and Afonja trained many of them for his army. (Afonja himself did not intend to convert to Islam, and he never did).

Fourthly, most rich Oyo families had Hausa, Nupe and Fulani slaves - used mostly in farming, trading, livestock rearing, etc. Most were Muslims.

Afonja decided to exploit this also. He issued a proclamation saying that if any slaves ran away from their owners and came to him in Ilorin, he would give them freedom and protection there. Large numbers of slaves, mostly Hausa, fled to Afonja, and he trained some of them for his army.

Afonja thus had his large town and large army. Most of his army’s commanders and soldiers were Oyo Muslims. A few of the soldiers were Muslim Hausa – all slaves recently set free by Afonja. But many of his Hausa soldiers were unruly. He warned or threatened them repeatedly, but with no result. When he at last decided to discipline them, they mutinied. Afonja was killed in the mutiny - in 1823.

Meanwhile, while Alimi had been making charms for the army, he had become a friend to many of the Oyo commanders who were Muslims, and these hadmade him Imam (Islamic teacher and preacher) for the Muslim community in the army. After Afonja›s death, the same friends gradually made their Imam the ruler of Ilorin. They also created some officers among the Hausa soldiers - for instance, Balogun Gambari. The powerful men doing all these things were Oyo.

That then is how Oyo people made a Fulani man the ruler of Ilorin. When Alimi died, his elder son, Abdulsalam, was elevated to his father’s position by his father›s powerful Oyo Muslim friends. Adulsalam had lived in the Jihad in Hausaland and had only recently come to live with his father in Ilorin. He knew that the Jihad had made the Fulani the rulers of Ilorin - with a Fulani Sultanate based in Sokoto and quasi-independent Fulani Emirs in the separate Hausa kingdoms. So, after he was made ruler of Ilorin, he sent to Hausaland to announce that he had established an Emirate in Ilorin and to ask that his Emirate should be accepted as part of the Fulani Sultanate.

In this way, Ilorin became a Fulani Emirate, ruled by a Fulani family.

Ilorin was, in population, still an Oyo town - probably over 95% Oyo in population. And Ilorin was never conquered or even invaded by any Fulani army. Those influential Oyo men who made Alimi and his son the rulers of Ilorin did so out of fervour for their Islamic faith.

When the news of the happenings in Ilorin spread all over the Oyo country, people were shocked to hear that Ilorin people had made the family of an obscure Fulani charm peddler their rulers. Therefore, people formed armies to go and subdue Ilorin and flush out the Fulani impostors. None of these invasions of Ilorin succeeded. The invading armies were poorly organized, and, moreover, the old Afonja army defending Ilorin was just too powerful. In fact, in the end, the Ilorin people, in order to ensure perfect protection for their fervently Muslim town, decided to go out and conquer most of Yorubaland (all the way to the sea coast), and make all of it a Muslim empire ruled from Ilorin.

Their army marched out in about 1838, conquering town after town towards the south, and causing mammoth streams of refugees. Till today, most Yoruba people still call this Ilorin invasion a Fulani invasion of Yorubaland. But it was not a Fulani invasion at all; it was an attempt by the predominantly Yoruba Muslim people of Ilorin to conquer and Islamize the rest of Yorubaland.

The victorious Ilorin march southwards ended suddenly in 1840. The refugees who had gathered in the Egba village of Ibadan had quickly become a large town. Their army marched out and met the Ilorin army in Oshogbo in 1840, and totally destroyed them, capturing many of their commanders. From then on, the power of Ilorin was more or less over, and Ilorin never dared again to face the Ibadan army in battle.

In the following years, Ibadan became the most powerful state in Yorubaland, and established control over the Oshun valley, Ife, Ijesa, Ekiti, Akoko, Igbomina and parts of Iyagba. Ilorin continued to be ambitious to control some territory in its immediate neighbourhood – in nearby Igbomina and Ibolo (especially Offa); but they feared Ibadan. In 1877, the Ekiti, Ijesa, Igbomina and Akoko revolted against Ibadan’s rule, and the Kiriji War started, keeping all these peoples and Ibadan busy until 1893. Ilorin took advantage of this and established some feeble control over parts of Igbomina and Ibolo.

However, at home in Ilorin itself, a proper Emirate could not develop. The powerful Yoruba war chiefs wanted to re-establish the traditional Yoruba political system whereby the chiefs in a kingdom select their king. The Emirs resisted. By 1895, the chiefs were winning the contest grandly – a situation which forced the Emir Momoh to commit suicide after setting his palace on fire. The victorious chiefs then installed Sulaiman as Emir. This was the situation when the forces of the British Royal Niger Company came and conquered Ilorin in 1897.

In the years that followed, it was the British that established Ilorin as a full-fledged emirate, making the Ilorin Emir like the Emirs of Hausaland. The Emir then took advantage of that to establish all sorts of Emirate-type control over Ibolo and northern Igbomina.

In short, Ilorin was never conquered (was never even invaded) by the Fulani. Ilorin is more than 90% Yoruba in population. The Igbomina, Ibolo, and Ekiti of Kwara, because they have hated the imposture of the Ilorin Emirs since the beginning of British rule, tend to be usually cool towards Ilorin. Rather it was the treasonable ambition of Afonja and the Yoruba Muslim converts who handed Ilorin to the Fulanis.

Today, the same group are at the forefront fighting to ensure that all Yoruba land falls to Sokoto.

Dr. Olamide Orekunrin is a medical doctor, a trained helicopter pilot, and the healthcare entrepreneur & founder of Flying Doctors Nigeria, West Africa’s first Air Ambulance Service. She's dedicated to bringing trauma care to the most remote parts of Western Africa and her company, an air ambulance service based in Lagos, is doing just that. wink

Her meteoric rise in the field of medical studies took her to Japan, after she had won the MEXT Japanese Government Scholarship. There, she conducted clinical research in the field of regenerative medicine, at the Jikei University Hospital. However, the catalyst for a major life and career decision came when her sister became very, very ill on holiday whilst staying with relatives in Nigeria. The local hospital was unable to manage her sickle cell anemia condition. cry

After she lost her younger sister tragically on that visit to Nigeria, due to the lack of a medical air ambulance service to transport her to a hospital, Ola Orekunrin was motivated to set up the service. Ola graduated as a medical doctor from the University Of York in the UK, and is a member of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. undecided

Ola currently resides in Lagos, Nigeria where she is considered a national expert of disaster medicine and pre-hospital care. Her company has been featured on various local TV and radio stations as well as the BBC and CNN. http://www.lionessesofafrica.com/lioness-ola-orekunrin/
