Romance › Re: 7 Sexy Things That Happen When You Grow A Beard by Konquest: 9:34pm On Nov 22, 2017
sauceandsound:
It is not easy to go for months without a facial shave. It felt rough and I looked awful. when I decided that it had reach the desired thickness, I went  to get a trim and the outline was crazy. Sincerely, I look so good that you should hide your girlfriends from me.

7. Girls reply your DMs faster

Months of trying to get this hot chick to reply my three heyyy's on instagram but I was getting curved like a David Beckham free kick. They say chasing girls on the gram don't work for guys like me, but guess what I and my new friend (the beard) posed for pictures in front of a clean red Venza at the mall (not mine oh) insert filter and upload. I was getting mad love from everyone. One message pops up, guess who she called baby?

6. You become a crazy photogenic

The stress of taking a picture, trying to find the perfect lighting when your face is smooth like an egg. But with beards everything appears perfect. you can take a selfie while taking a shit and the tissue paper company will pay you for the picture.

5. Popularity takes over

Same day I got my trim, I decided to cause some trouble on my whatsapp. Took a sexy selfie, looking the other direction and all, set up my new profile picture and waited. Next day, more than half the girls on my contact were using my picture to get their boyfriends jealous. Hahahahaha.

4. People respect you

Sometimes when you go to the mall and enter a store knowing you aren't going to get anything. The store attendants know this already and reply you lazily while you are forming interested. But with a beard its different. I was standing in a jewelry store innocently admiring a wrist watch. The manger came out to welcome me and offered me drinks. I was broke, just so you know.

3. A few people think you're unserious

I didn't get the same mad love from everyone, school on the other hand was different. Lecturers look at you with scrutiny and in the exam hall, you get called to sit in front for doing nothing.

2. Most people think you've made it

Everyone assumes you must have crazy money to grow the perfect beard. Immediately I posted the first picture with my beard, friends I haven't spoken to in years started calling, telling me about work problems, school fees etc. I only they know that we are still on same level. They still don't believe when I tell them I am broke.

1. With a good beard comes great things

Everything changes when you have a clean properly groomed beard, you become a celebrity.

@Ishilove

Hi once again... smiley

Yeah... the roaring 70s!
The era of Ofege and co, which
I earlier posted on this thread.

The economy was OK then - 1976/77.
N1=$1 was the approximate exchange rate
so people caught on to the latest songs
then from Kingsway Stores or some
other departments stores then.

People [middle-class] flew with ease to London via Nigeria Airways and/or
the iconic British Caledonian Airways like you were going from Lagos to Ukwuani
in Delta State! grin

Its good to know that your mum
loved Tina Charles' songs. Her era was
within the period when people really
sang meaningful topical songs and that is why some 1990s and early 2000s
musicians have done remakes of
1960s/1970s songs.

I will post some stimulating 1970s tracks that are not yet posted within
the week on this thread as well.

Thanks for doing the heavy lifting for us

Tina Charles' songs were huge
in the late 1970s, but the pressures
of everyday living just made me forget
her for some years now.

I've been listening to "dance little lady dance" and "I love to love"
by Tina Charles for over 4 hours now
and they sure bring back good memories of
1976/late 70s.

Both songs were big then in Nigeria and were
played on radio and TV right into the 1980s.
My father loved both songs along with the songs
of
Miriam Makeba, Stevie Wonder, Don Williams,
Victor Uwaifo [Joromi:1969 release], James
Brown... and
more.

He would play them in his Volvo while
driving and/or at home
and I can say that he influenced my love
for good, timeless music and that is why
I have my collections of some evergreen
tracks/vinyl records - and I hope to get more.

I have to sign off now...

Romance › Re: Smarter People Are More Likely To Have Mental Problems - Study Reveals by Konquest: 2:35am On Nov 21, 2017
Realfitbody:
Hello, guys, it's your favorite health blogger Paul Samuel FitnessDoctor

In summary "the higher your IQ the higher the risk of mental health disorders such as bipolar disorder, depression, and schizophrenia.

Although notable figures with an amazing IQ like Albert Einstein have been known to leave a life devoid of the most serious mental illness, this study claims that there is a link.

The study suggests that highly intelligent people have a significantly increased risk of suffering from a variety of mental disorders.

The study in the journal Science Direct last week says that “those with high intelligence are at significantly greater risk for the examined psychological disorders and physiological diseases.”

The research team found 20 percent of Mensa members, with an IQ of 130 and over, have a diagnosed anxiety disorder, compared to 10 percent of the general public in the U.S.

The research team used a “hyper brain/hyper body theory of integration,” which suggests that people, who have higher cognitive ability tend to react with greater emotional and behavioral response to their environments as compared to others with lower cognitive ability.

Copyright: Paul Samuel FitnessDoctor (realfitbody.com)

Due to their increased level of awareness, individuals with high IQ levels then typically exhibit a hyper-reactive central nervous system.

For example, “a minor insult such as a clothing tag or an unnatural sound may trigger a low level, chronic stress response which then activates a hyper body response,” Dr. Nicole Tetreault, co-author of the study explained to Thriveworks.com.

The study showed that there is a downgrade to having levels of IQ, as the individuals possess “unique intensities and over-excitabilities which can be at once both remarkable and disabling on many levels,” lead author of the study Ruth Karpinski said.

“Our findings are relevant because a significant portion of these individuals is suffering on a daily basis as a result of their unique emotional and physical over-excitabilities. It is important for the scientific community to examine high IQ as being front and center within the system of mechanisms that may be at play in these dysregulations,” she added.

Copyright: Paul Samuel FitnessDoctor (realfitbody.com)

The researchers surveyed 3,715 members of American Mensa, Ltd., a group of people said to share the traits of high intelligence.

Each individual was asked to report their experiences with both diagnosed and suspected mental illnesses, like mood and anxiety disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and also physiological diseases, like food allergies and asthma.

The study then analyzed the data and compared it to the statistical national average for each illness. Researchers found that those with higher levels of IQ had a higher risk of the disorders. While over 10 percent of the U.S. population has a diagnosed anxiety disorder, it was 20 percent for the members of Mensa, explained co-author Audrey Kinase Kolb.

“For these conditions, having a high intelligence is related to having between 2 to 4 times the chance of having a diagnosis compared to the average American,” she said, according to Neurosciencenews.com.

The researchers, however, mentioned in the study that more work "needs to be done to demonstrate causation."

My Thoughts?

I can partially agree with the reason behind the conclusion of an existent link, as most people with extreme intelligence that I know seem to be hyperactive, but I wouldn't conclude that it is due to a mental illness.

Clothes mean nothing until someone lives in them... This man is a fruit seller in Yola Nigeria around roundabout Mai Doki. I asked him, why dress like this? He replied, "anytime I go to the Bank for transaction I do admire the way the bankers dress, so this is my office and since I don't have the hope of being a banker one-day... let me also dress like one. The vexatious terminology called "Nollywood"
was FIRST coined by an American Journalist
called Matt Steinglass in the New York Times
in 2002!

The Nigerian movie industry has been in
existence since the 1950s.

For example, Professor Wole Soyinka's
movie "Kongi's Harvest" was produced
and directed in Nigeria by Nigerians and
shown in the cinemas as a celluloid film
in 1969 and it received critical acclaim.
This is the reason why Prof Soyinka is
given the nickname: Kongo!

KingSango:
Greetings,

Imprisoning terrorist is ineffective as a means of discouraging their rise. But there is a fundamental principle being dictated by the U S. in Cuba, that is housing terrorists.Terrorist must be killed on the battlefield even if they surrender. Their nests located and all of them wiped out. The reason armies do not kill enemy soldiers they have captured is for later negotiating for release of their own soldier snd rules of war. But terrorists represent no nation or kingdom to negotiate so the point is mute. Terrorists are just hired killers. Some are getting paid 2000 dollars to join. Plus terrorist rape and abuse small children making them into child soldiers.

Solution: Kill them like its no tomorrow and the thrill to kill will die in them. Life is eternal we have become too soft. Think about the loss of life and suffering terrorists cause and how life would better if they did not exist. King Sango would tell his generals to kill them and Terrorists will stop dead. You create special kill units they do excursions, build forts on the border far enough to support each other and tighten the border. Then lay motion detectors camouflaged and mobile and foot patrol. Get local cooperation and alliance with goodwill projects so you run the terrain. Do all this and victory is yours. Theres an abundance of free labor in this poor area.

Hello All,

I'm sure some of you know about Farmcrowdy already. It's a digital agricultural platform where farm sponsors are able to purchase farms and reap rewards of up to 15% in 5-6months after gestation. Their website is www.farmcrowdy.com. I wrote about them sometime ago.

Now, I have come questions or concerns I'd just like to raise.

I had a chat with their representative online regarding the nature of insurance they provide for invested money. According to them, all monies invested are insured by Leadway Insurance, so investors don't lose money. However, the nature of this insurance is not disclosed. I pressed the representative further and all I got in return was that "this has not happened before". On asking how they intend to cover the loss they'll incur if it does happen, I got no response. I couldn't even elicit a response how this insurance mechanism is structured and how they interpret losses, if they do incur one. Is a loss when they fail to make their desired, expected revenue, or when they make only an insufficient percentage?

Responses from the representative were standard copy-paste responses, with some even repeated for the same questions. I find this a great concern.

I don't know if anyone has heard of Theranos (an american bio-tech coy). They came onto the scene making promises which turned out false. But it took the investigative power of a diligent WSJ journalist to out them. Unfortunately, Nigeria is not such a country gifted with tech journalists who go the distance in their investigations, else wouldn't it be nice to have someone on their case?

I'd love to know what you think of this. We need to get the detail of that insurance with Leadway.

Hon. Tony Nwoye has be enmeshed with accusations of been involved in cultism  from several quarters in Anambra state ahead of the 18th November election. As a way to assure his supporters and fans of the determination to justify himself and clear his name, the APC governorship Aspirant Tony Nwoye has released a statement in that regard.

Read Below:

THANK YOU, NDI ABAMBRA

The past weeks have been as exhilarating as it is daunting. The feeling so far generated by our campaign across the length and breadth of the State is, in all honesty, nothing short of a reassurance that our people are indeed seeking for a fresh air of progressive leadership.

I sincerely want to express unreserved appreciation to the Anambra electorates, who have to me become the best examples of an enlightened electorate. The reception across the 326 wards was warm, the expectations high and the resolve total.

I have realised that the sentiments peddled across most media spaces do not mirror the reality of our enormous grassroot support base. This is another reflection of the high moral rectitude and meticulousness of the Anambra voter who is not swayed by devious propaganda.

Yesterday was the last day for campaigns according to the laws guiding this process. As such, I  have dismantled all my campaign machineries accordingly. However, it is of utmost importance that I express this appreciation to my supporters and team for the good works thus far.

We have worked and the harvest cannot be any less. As we anticipate the  result of our efforts, we must not fail to be actively involved in the all important business of tomorrow.

I therefore urge all my supporters to come out en masse to exercise their franchise. I have avowed to a peaceful process devoid of intimidation and malpractices, and urge my supporters to do same.

We are unwavering in our conviction that victory shall be ours to celebrate.

Thank you immensely and God Bless us all.

tuoyo21:
Fast rising and beautiful Nollywood actress, Nichole Banna has surprised all as she came out to reveal some shocking events of her past life that will leave you dumbfounded. Barely five years after she made her entry into Nollywood, the Computer Science graduate and fast rising actress is a blazer in the Nigerian movie industry. Just last year, she produced her first movie titled “Ichekwu Oku”. The Imo State-born actress has featured in movies like My Calabar Love, The Banker, Roasted Alive and Caro The Shoemaker.

According to the actress, she disclosed that after she attended WOLBI (WORD OF LIFE BIBLE SCHOOL) in Salvation Ministries headed by great man of God Pastor David Ibiyeomie in Portharcourt, Rivers state, she encountered the Holy Spirit and had to withdraw from her dirty past life which includes sleeping with married men for money, smoking, masturbating and other negative practices.

See below what she had to say …..

“Am sharing this testimony because I want to honour the one behind the transformation in my life. I have always been a God fearing girl, my relationship with the Holy Spirit is one that gets stronger by the day. Am grateful for being connected to a great man of God David Ibiyeomie whom through his teachings and books have brought me closer to God. There’s a difference between having a relationship with the Holy Spirit and being religious. Am glad I can boldly say I belong to Jesus Christ because I really fear and try my best to obey all I see in His word with the Help of my Sweet Holy Spirit. Before now I was just that young girl that wanted everything some girls thought are the priorities in life. So back then I dated married men whom will end up loving me so much and doing all I asked, thereby spending less time with their wives. Back then it felt good to be loved and taken care by someone’s husband and it seemed normal. But as God may have it i became born again. Attended WOLBI (WORD OF LIFE BIBLE SCHOOL )in Salvation Ministries. I encountered light and stopped everything that has to do with married men and all they had to offer despite the pressure. I became content with what I have and trust me God didn’t lie when He said that He will provide everything I needed if I seek Him first. Letting go of that completely doesn’t make me a perfect girl because no one is perfect but it felt good to go into a covenant with God,and watch Him fulfil His own part. The transformation didn’t end there cause I still had other things I was doing that doesnt glorify God.I use to smoke and mastubate alot and that made me have less friends and because I didn’t want the dirty habits known publicly.Though After WOLBI I stopped smoking and mastubating for a while, after some time ,i backslided and became worst with the habits.I smoke all the time coupled with the challenges i was going through then.In the midst of this I still loved God,kept praying and asking for mercy especially after each action. Am grateful to God because I know He has healed me completely and this is the proof that am free from that demonic influence because I kept praying and asking for mercy especially after each act. Am grateful to God because I know He has healed me completely and this is the proof that am free from that demonic influence because it was a big battle for me to testify openly. I practiced this secretly because I didn’t want my sister to know about it and especially the public,I didn’t want to mislead my fans because everyone’s grace differs. Please this is to encourage you, nomatter what you are doing don’t let go of God’s hands, keep striving to be better. Again for the ones that still date married men cause of money, please stop because the consequences are generational. Same money you will get if you work hard and be content. Son of FORMER PDP CHAIRMAN STABBED TO DEATH BY WIFE OVER ALLEGED INFIDELITY TEXT .

According to reports, Bilyamin Muhammed Bello, the son of a former PDP chairman, Haliru Bello, was last night, allegedly, stabbed to the death by his wife, Maryam Sanda, the daughter of embattled former Aso Savings boss, Hajia Maimuna Aliyu.

It was gathered that the attack happened following an allegation of infidelity after she saw a text message on his phone. The deceased was stabbed 3 times in the back; and severally on his private parts, at their home in Maitama, Abuja.

Before this, Maimuna had bit part of his ear off and was treated at a hospital before returning home. He was advised to leave the house but he refused.

After stabbing him, she drove him to the hospital where he died. The couple had a daughter together.

He will be buried today.

But then...they are both Muslims and he
can marry more than one wife. He ought to have
discussed the plan with her even before
marriage.

I'm not a Muslim but I have done a lot of
studies on comparative religion from around
the world.

There must be some other issues involved
aside from the so-called infidelity.

The lady could have bipolar disorder or
some other mental health challenge because
it is so much unlike Muslim women in
Northern Nigeria to behave like that!
