RomanceRe: 9 Things To Avoid After A Breakup by Koolking(m): 11:18am On Oct 30, 2012
mitchyy: Breakups can be a very difficult experience. You’re crying, confused, and your heart feels like it’s in a million pieces. It’s not called heartbreak for nothing. But learn to let it go. The world has something better in store for you. But while you’re waiting here are 9 things you shouldn't do after a breakup.

Ready to hear them? Cool, let's go

#1. Don't Stalk him/her
You're way too smart to stalk him or her physically after your breakup. Of course you are...BUT...on social media? That's tempting. Facebook, Twitter, BBM(blackberry messenger), instagram, his/her blog. Never! Do you really want to torture yourself with each new female friend he adds and see cute little comments from babes/guys you know were interested in him/her in the past? You don't need to know where he or she's going or who he or she's going with. It hurts. Move on.

#2. Don't Stay friends
There is no way you can remain friends with an ex if you still have feelings for him. You can eventually be friends but not immediately after a breakup. Haba! Give yourself some time. Remaining friends only gives him/her permission to treat you like crap while he/she borrows money from you, has occasional sex with you when he can’t find anyone else, and sometimes lean on you for emotional support when he has a bad day! Accept the truth. He’s not going to change his mind and realize breaking up with you was a bad idea. He’s just going to use you until he finds someone to take your place. So please, DO NOT stay friends with him for now!

#3. Do not Isolate yourself
You're way too fabulous and amazing to be shut-in. Do not stay cooped inside your room all day with the blinds shut. You'll do yourself more harm than good. Get out! Go to the beach on its busiest days. (We have so many in Nigeria, especially in lagos). Attend events, not those emotional stage plays. Take some risks! Meet with some of your crazy energetic friends at the club. Wear red lipstick and some killer stillettos and work it because you can.

#4. Don't waste energy on revenge
Revenge is utter crap. Don't get even. Get over it.

#5. Do not tell "your story" to everyone
Almost everyone falls victim to this. Hold back. Don't tell everybody how you've been wronged. Boooooooooring! Save it. The longer you hold on to "your story" and keep soliciting sympathy, the longer it will take you to move forward...and we don't want your friends to dump you, too. (That doesn't mean you shouldn't talk to someone about it. The emphasis here is telling 'EVERYONE').

#6. Don't be "on the hunt"
Don't jump on the relationship bandwagon too soon. Contrary to the general belief, the best way to get over a guy/lady is not to date another one immediately. Take your time. Enjoy your new Freedom.

#7. Do not listen to 'Adele - Someone like you' on repeat
I guess that's self-explanatory.

#8. Don’t think your Facebook page is going to convince him to come back
I have a friend who made up a boyfriend just to make her ex jealous. She changed her status, her photos, she changed her BBM display picture and Facebook profile picture to her and a hot dude hugging tightly. But what did the ex think? When i asked him, i discovered he didn't even notice. So, yes, in most cases, it doesn't work.

#9. Do not turn to alcohol
Drowning our sorrows in bottles of beer can sometimes seem pretty appealing. The chances are, you’ll get drunk and then make one or more of the other mistakes on this list.

Know someone going through a heartbreak? Please share with them

Hey Mitchyy, thanks a lot. I have been practically listening to Adele "Don't you remember". The song gives me memories too beautiful to realise she is gone. It's been difficult accepting she was a shadow in my life. Thank you for these tips.
PoliticsRe: Hurricane Sandy: Will Nigeria Learn From The Emergency Response Plan Of USA? by Koolking(m): 10:53am On Oct 30, 2012
Okija_juju: Imagine say a 'Hurricane Abimbola' is heading for Ekiti State in 3 weeks.. First and foremost;

1. Prophet T.B Joshua will prohesy the hurricane.

2. Ekiti State Governor will hold a press conference advicing the people of the state to remain calm as government is working hard to see how they can tackle the situation.

3. National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) will grant an interview on Channels TV and AIT saying that they are well trained and prepared to handle the crisis. That they are untop of the Situation.

4. The Federal Government will wait for the Hurricane to first land and wipe out Ekiti State then;

- Hold a day of National Mourning and Prayers and order the flag be flown at half mast.

- Visit the disaster location for a first hand assessment of the damage.

- Visit the survivors camp and share relief material (Mosquito nets, rice and
Indomie)

- Set up a committee to investigate the Hurricane and see how we can prevent future hurricanes from visiting Nigeria.

- Release billions of Naira (on Paper) for disaster management.

- Sack the Minister of Water Resources for failing to contain the water.

- Commend the State Governor, NEMA, Red Cross and other emergency services unit for their quick response.

5. The Senate willl hold an emergency session and condemn the 'Hurricane'.

6. Churches around Nigeria will hold crusades and Programmes with Titles like 'May Hurricane wipe out your enemies'.. 'Calming the Hurricenes in your life'.. 'Finding the Rainbow in your Hurricane'.. e.t.c..

7. M.I Abaga will release a single about hurricanes.

8. Femi Falana (SAN) will sue the Hurricane, F.G and Ekiti State government for their poor handling of the Hurricane.

9. A thread will be launched on NAIRALAND and be put on the frontpage and will hit over 20 pages in its first 6 hours.

10. CPC, ACN, APGA and others will blame the PDP and Jonathan for the Hurricane.

11. Jokes about BOKO HARAM claims responsibility for the Hurricane will go viral on Facebook, Blackberry Messenger and Twitter..

12. Many People will change their Blackberry Display Pictures to 'Hurricane Pictures' and their status will read.. #Hurricane Things..

All this and the people wey the hurricane actually affect go just siddon dey suffer..
^Quite apt to the Nigerian situation. bro, I agree with you intoto

Our govt does not care a hoot about the citizens. Disaster Management is of priority to a government who has the interest of her people at heart. Nigerian Govt only protects the interest of the minority rich at the expense of the larger society. It's a SHAME

sandylurv: My relationship in which I had so much hope, where I found true love and hapiness, where nothing else mattered to me in this world has just come to an end because of genotype incompatibility (AS-AS).

I feel shattered ,broken, pained, disconsolate, heavy-hearted, sorrowful, aggrieved, wounded and bruised. My heart bleeds terribly, I've cried myself to sleep several times(usually I feel better after a good cry when I feel bad) but I still don't feel better. I find myself blaming nature, my stupid genotype, and God....I loved him, I still do, with every fibre of my being.

Oh God,we had ‎so much in common, ideas, views, beliefs, birth month, family structure, physical attributes etc.I know for sure,I'll never find anyone like him **sobbing** Until now,I neva believed any human cud feel this much pain.

The amount of pain I carry in my heart at the moment is such that I keep wishing for death, maybe I would find some peace there. I cant say but maybe I feel dis bad cuz it seems soo easy for him. He has moved on, barely one week after.Maybe its just my imagination but it was really easy for him. I don't know if its usually so easy to let go of someone you truly and really love.

He was everything to me, he made me very happy, my world went round because of him, and now, my world feels so empty without him. We had decided to go ahead initially, with the plan of having CVS with each pregnancy but he is too scared to take that chance. This is the saddest thing that ever happened to me all my life. I still want him. Imagine finding someone you love completely, and finding all u ever wanted in that person but still not be able to have that person.

I'm praying to God for strength to carry on (even though I must be truthful, I'm sorry, but my faith and belief in him has greatly dwindled) as I really don't wanna do anything nasty.I don't understand why God would sit by and watch me go through dis and not intervene.

Any words of encouragement to help me go through dis would be appreciated, as I don't really have my friends around me at the moment and I feel so lonely in this world, plus I really needed to bare my heart one way or the other.

I hope I feel better after this. God bless you.
Sandylurv, I feel your pains. I know what it means to lose (not in death) someone you truly love. I am still struggling to get over my own lost. When my girlfriend broke up with me for her own fault, I thought I was going to die. Suicide was an option. I lost interest in things I love to do. I cried all nights for weeks. I am still broken, wounded and hateful.

Just like you, I had so much hope in the relationship, we were happy in the relationship. She completed me, she was the voice of my life. We were best of friends, we treasured each other like gold, we vowed to live for each other. We did a lot of crazy things for our happiness, we hugged each other for comfort. She made me promise never to leave her, and I was sure I would never leave. I gave in everything I could without reservation. Against all odds, I wanted a life with her. She made me love her with every breath in me. All my life I never loved a girl as I loved her. We were only 4 months old in the relationship, but I was ready to risk it all. I adjusted my life to be with her for the rest of my life. I compromised myself to see her happy. We promised to stand by each other even if the sun does not shine tomorrow. It happened so fast, she changed over night and walked away just like that and never wanted us to talk about it. It was so strange. May be she found a man to prey on. I know she is guilty, and never stop calling to find out how I am doing. I have stopped picking her calls; I want to forget about her and be happy again. Surprisingly, I still love her even tomorrow. In my spite, I was compelled to accept that "Women are almost the same". I wish I could recreate them.

I bet, you will live through it. He was not the best man for you. You assumed he was the best man for you. God will never give you a man who is best for you today, but a man, an Angel who is best for you today and tomorrow. Build yourself around exciting friends. Everything happens for a reason and purpose. God is taking away disaster in your path. Tomorrow matters, not today. God wants you to be closer to HIM. My experience draws me closer to God. Looking back in memory will make you miserable. Make friends with your bible, you will find comfort. Those who care never walk away no matter what. God will always be GOD. He gives us what HE wants us to have and not what we want to have. I believe in prayers. I believe in HIS word. Read Psalms 06:02 - 10.

Cheer up

lekkie073: hmmmm.flunitrazepam......#flashback to 2001 in unimaid# i was introduced to rohypnol by a friend of mine. after taking d tab with a bottle of chilled water, i waited for its effect. to be candid, the highness is lovely. (give a shy guy a tab of rohypnol and he will toast the prettiest girl in d universe). after some hours i got to my room and removed my wristwatch to sleep. on waking up, i searched and searched for d watch but couldnt see it. i turned d whole room upside down, no show. i became anxious, saw d guy dat introduced it to me and complained about my observation. d guy said i must be in such state before i can see d watch again. i became sober. some days passed and i met some of my other friends who are veterans in d game. i took one tab from them, licked it, took chilled water to fastforward d timing of th effect. some hous later i decided to retire back to my room. guess what? i opened my door and the first thing dat caught my eyes was the wristwatch which i had lost hope of ever seeing again! to rohypnol be the glory.
Guy, are you serious? Ain't it a cocaine?

What baffles me about women is, if you show them they mean the world to you. You love them with all your heart and willing to do anything to make them happy, you will be tagged 'mumu'. But guys who lie and rigmarole are the best baits for them. I wish I could recreate women. They are way too complicated.

HealthRe: FG To Ban ‘Date Molestation Drug’ by Koolking(m): 2:04pm On Oct 25, 2012
Policewoman: Funny Government. So Flunitrazepam was designed originally for rape abi? Ok. So what of other drugs in the same class like Bromazepam (Lexotan), Diazepam (Valium), Lorazepam (Ativan), Nitrazepam (Mogadon) e.t.c. What of people who use Chloroform to drug people before kidnapping them? What of local and general anaesthetics used in hospitals for surgeries (e.g Lignocaine, Ketamine, Halothane, ether, Nitrous oxide e.t.c). What i'm getting at is, banning this drug is mere sweeping the problem under the carpet as d criminals have other alternate drugs to use. The right thing to do is to strongly regulate these drugs as is done in U.S and U.K and other developed countries. Our drug distribution channel in Nigeria is so chaotic that one can easily lay his or her hands on these drugs, which should not be. Let the health minister work on reviewing the laws on drug use regulation by placing such drugs only in d custody of qualifed and registered pharmacies. That will make it easier to track incase it gets out. Don't ban drugs like that because some criminal used it because u may just be denying those patients who actually need it and for whom d drugs were designed for initially.
Well said dude. I don't know who advises our govt. These drugs are made for legitimate purposes. You don't chop off your head to cure headache. Local but cheap mixtures can still serve a purpose for despicable minds.

I have learnt from women. No matter how much you try to please them, they will still look elsewhere. They are shadows in disguise. There is no love, it's all about what you can offer. It's apt to accept "women are almost the same", after my mother's generation.

Katsumoto: When the Bini got to Lagos, they met a ruler called Olofin. The first Olofin himself met others at Iddo when he moved there from Ibefun.

And no, Lagos is not some land that anyone can lay claim to as home. That line of thought is for people who aren't proud of their origins, too lazy to make change in their homeland, and prefer to lay claims to someone else's home.
. . .oral traditions, well-known to historians of Lagos, indicate that Benin found pre-existing settlement on Lagos.

Any way, thanks for your attn.
PoliticsRe: Who Is A Lagosian? by Koolking(m):
Katsumoto: Try and get an education about the history of Lagos before you make ridiculous claims about People from Benin being the original settlers.
We are here to learn fact not hearsay and propaganda. Sir, if could be kind to oblige your hard earned knowledge, that would be noble. I repeat without being coerced Lagos is home for all.
PoliticsRe: Who Is A Lagosian? by Koolking(m): 3:00pm On Sep 26, 2012
maninmood: Once you erect a house in Lagos with all the property papers intact, you are a Lagosian; if you own a business in Lagos and government is generating income from the tax levied on your business, you are a lagosian. Most people claiming 'Lagosian' do not even have a rooted place there. And by the way what benefits come with being a 'Lagosian'? Does it give you free access(visa-free) to some countries? Does your 'Lagos State' government give you your monthly benefit of being a Lagosian? Are you one of those omo-oniles? undecided
You took those questions outta my mouth. People from Benin who were the 'original settlers' in Lagos are the people who should supposedly lay claim of Lagos. Those we believe (Aworis and whatever) are the real Lagosians, were sojourner who later warred and displaced other settlers. The present pseudo growth and development are largely effort of the alleged refugees, not in anyway connected in Lagos ancestry. Succinct, the name Lagos was even coined by foreigners (the Portuguese) and where were the Aworis? Lagos till tomorrow remains 'No Man's Land'. No foreigners no Lagos.

capable of non-stop flights for three hours.

can fly at an altitude of 16,000 feet and requires the shortest landing runway length.

cost of the spare parts, repair and maintenance of the drone are very low and if commercialized, it will increase Iran's foreign currency savings.
Quite impressive. Bad bargain for U.S

Third world war is imminent if Iran, US and Israel (specifically) do not see need to call a truce. Iran technological prowess should not be downplayed by the super powers. They are poised for eventuality, and they will sure shock the world. Who knows what other formidable (secret)weapons they have in their arsenal...they know their enemies very well.
