You are right. Money and budget dictate anything in life. But there is a an alternative to Panadol.... Generic Medicine.
I had to mix the tiles because I was going to buy all my 955 sqm tiles in High grade Spanish or Italian only, then the cost will be like starting another project. And since I am a kobo-kobo man like some people here, I went for mixing the Italian/Spanish tiles for all the busy or high traffic areas and Naija made tiles for not so busy area. Our pockets are not the same. Fingers are not equal.
So you are right, I did not have a choice but to mix.

Thank you for the simple analysis, the repacking and relabeling is the order of the day, because people think everything that was stamped with a specific country on it; is always the best. That's why you see all of these brand names are reproduced as counterfeit.

I wish so, if those dubious, contractors, workers, even the government officials that award the contracts. They will not chart away with half of the budget, of course its possible. Our problem is not if things can be done, yes thing can be done, but with all those buckle neck that stay on the way of progress, are the major problems we face as people. Its even worst when the society that has been that chocked to accept every wrong doing as norm. These are the people that are suppose to be fighting for their rights or demand how their leaders spent their wealth. Unfortunately many of them don't see anything wrong in looting the system, rather waiting for their own opportunity to come to even do worse. Very interesting topic, let the debate floor open.

The inverter equipment can be under the stairs but extractor fan must be provided to extract the battery fumes out.

In my opinion, its better to keep it way if possible exterior for safety peace of mind, instead of using engineering control. If you can eliminate the risk why control it ?

Why is the Nigerian builders' work spaces so untidy with total disregard to Health and Safety? Do we as a people have an affinity to dirt and untidiness? How difficult is it to clean up after the day's work in readiness for tomorrow's work? I think we are fantastically very receptive to dirt and chaotic environment and when compared to the orderliness that is obtainable internationally, this is shocking. How can people work in such dirty environment beats me.

Man you need to introduce that painter in action to us here, his working environment may not be as neat as expected. I can see his method of painting is as professional as it could be. I may be wrong he used spraying gun instead of local traditional brush that will take forever to paint a house. In spraying method one could save a lot in paint and it could be done faster. I do understand every corner can not be easily sprayed but most wide-opened space can be sprayed to save time and money.

Town planning Authority is supposed to inspect and certify a building fit before occupancy.
Infact after building plan approval, we are supposed to serve them with notice of commencement and of completion for them to dispatch their inspectors for site visit

Thanks for the clarification. Many people don't even know some of this government agencies exist neither known their function, due to failure in the system for over decades. Couple of days back I red when people start debating about fencing height, many States have their rules when it's come to your fence height. For example in Abuja, there are many zoned areas where your fence can not be above 1 - 1 1/2 meters hight, otherwise you will never get approval for the building. If you choose to take law to your hand, in no time the agency in charge will pull that fence down and send you the bill for their service. Many time I don't blame people that go out of normal channels to get things done, most time some of those agencies staff are worst the Even the kidnapper. There was one inspector that came to one my site that I will never forget. This dud asking the workers quality of sand the block was made off and which rivers was the sand dredge from. Can you imagine that.

That your POP guy is an honest guy and pretty fair. I cant measure it, but it looks above 10mm thickness to me. Whereas, Mine was 16mm thickness.

I'm an "Ibo guy" too. But it goes without saying, the standard of merchandise we put out.

80% of other key distributors for local brands are also Ibo by the way.

People just need to source wisely and ascertain the genuity of their source. Not everybody with a shop full of cables is an "Appointed Distributor" .
Buying from an "appointed" distributor might also not give you 100% immunity, but it is your surest bet in an open market.

Just like there is no guarantee that every acclaimed Man of God is righteous.
There will be a handful of distributors that will play on both teams, especially if your "Aroro" is too much or your pricing is unrealistic.
Rather than loose the business, they might sell you clones, because they figure that's what you're gonna end up buying at that price anyways. especially where very large volumes are concerned.

My oga how many people your brother can help in obtaining original cables, when you broke this new to me. What was my response to you? It's about time to start locking up these criminals that as know regards for human life and properties, from government officials to the importers. My first question was how do they get those cables in to the country in the first place. Imagine those useless SON governments agency coming out like it something new. Can anyone be hold responsible for all those life that has been lost with these criminals minded people action? People comment crime, loot treasures get away with it and became important personally in the society without paying for their crime that was brought that country to what it is today. Just look at that kidnaper case, that is Nigeria of today for you. That is the only country that one can became billionaires overnight, take one billion to bank with no questions ask where one get it. I dey busy in office, not time to keep writing all this long essays note.

Your first question should be at what thickness for that price, If above some numbers ? thickness you should be fine. The thicker the POP, more material more money.

You better go for it if you have the money. First Aluminum .055mm thickness is N3,518 per Sqm as of last week. The excuse before everything NA dollar go Up, now what is the excuse, when the dollar as came down. Things remain high? Same thing with cables
The last ones I bought 16mm about 4 months ago was N52k now N84k how can one justify that.

We are currently witnessing the increasing use of cladding in Nigeria. This has been known to be dangerous since the Dubai tower blaze. Same should be said of PVC ceiling. The use of polyethylene extensively in building like PVC ceiling and Alucobond cladding should be discouraged. These make escape and rescue during fire outbreak near impossible and serve as fuel and when mixed with oxygen stoke the fire.

Say no to PVC ceiling.

All those PVC ceilings Never for one second attract me, moreover the cost with POP that is fire resistant is not that much different. Why PVC with all the advantages of POP.

Do you need naked or floated polystyrene board, for wall cladding or expansion joint, it is available in large quantities.

Man can you make the cost of this material public just as the way you explained the expanded use for it. Cost per SQM, thickness of rages and average cost of installation per SQM. This will make it easy for people to make informed decision. Stop being secretive this is a global world and global market. Being secretive is not helping, its all about competiveness that adds to value.

I worked in TECHNOTOOLS ENGINERIING before running my own company TUNBORT TECH MACHINAING before I left many years ago. All those stuffs can be easily access from here if you have the right people to work with. I used to get most of my electrical /electronic components at ALABA INTERNATIONAL MARKRT those days, another company called TIGER HEAD TECH NIGERIA LIMITED AT ILUPEJU RD, AROUND NESTEL MAGI COMPANY. ANOTHER ONE CALLED TELDO FUNDRY CAMPANY USED TO HANDLE ALL OUR CASTING AND FUNDRY JOBS THEN IN THAT LOCATION TOO, EASYTECH CAMPANY LTD DO MACHINES PARTS, AND COMPONETS STUFFS THEN, AT ANIFOWSHE IN IKEJA AROUND NIGER RITE COMPANY.
