diordaves: Funds allowed, by God's grace, I'm currently working on the ground works of my next project in Ibadan. Metcopo is NOT part of that ground works be it 0.55mm or above. The fact is metcopo is a flawed design prone to leakage. Stepstiles are more resilience, workable and fit for purpose.
You should be able to use the same wood carcass. Metcopo and stepstiles as no any reason to leak if you used experience installer. I did couple in last 3 years till date, no single leak. |

PlaceVendome: I never knew that .there's always an excuse in Nigeria ,why? maybe Africa is cursed .The same wooden closet can be used in warmer climates like Florida . so why not Nigeria? there's ants, numerous insects , snakes and crocodiles in Florida and Australia. why no excuse there? only Nigeria complain about using concrete or interlocking tiles instead of grass to avoid snake . only Nigerians complain about not making use of attic due heat . there's also heat in Australia,Florida. why no complaints there? I've never come across any country where people build high fences with barbed wire ,except Nigeria . Is Nigeria more dangerous than Colombia or mexico? Never in my life have I heard of skeleton of a goat being unearth in a house due some voodoo black magic or witchcraft. why Nigeria ? I've never come across any country in the world where a group of armed men simply invade a private residence to demand money or kill the individual for no good reason. why always only Nigeria? you would think that armed robbery should be on a bank, not a small middle class duplex house, it simply makes no sense . Is Nigeria poorer than Moldova or Costa Rica? why only Nigeria? Why + why = why- why(why)X(why)=(why)=/(why)make no sense, that is why is = why? |

Aventures: well-done bros, if there is something I dread most nowadays is water tank on roof slab. Whatever you use as water proof will require periodic maintenance. Tiles is the worst, ordinary shining the floor with pure cement is lot better than tiles. I have had to break off tiles somewhere and do ordinary shinning and the problem solved. I also had an experience whereby there was a growth of plants and lot of sand sediments blocking the drain pipe and then leaking starts. well my best advice for people now is have your separate Tank Stand. Oga how you dey long time oh, your contribution here this day is limited. Waiting happen. Your students are waiting to hear from you. |

AngelicBeing: It is not a curse but the monster called corruption and the greed in the entire system from head to toe, once you reduce corruption to the barest minimum, you punish offenders, economic saboteurs with hefty fines and lengthy jail terms it will send a message to the entire nation and would be offenders will have a serious rethink of committing crimes.
South Africa you cited has an effective and excellent justice system, the former president is currently facing alot of kasala for corruption related cases, kill or reduce corruption in Nigeria and see how the glory of the country will shine, tolerate it with kid gloves and we will be having this same conversation in 2050, the same problem you see in the power sector is replicate in every facet in the country
There is corruption globally but the question is how do other countries punish economic saboteurs, how does the US, China, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Singapore etc deal with corruption and economic saboteurs, therein lies the answer. God bless you, the same people complain of situations happening now are same ones that don’t want anyone punished for wrong Doing because of tribal, religion or political affiliation. These bunch of criminals are united in looting the system . The only language they understand is looting. I don’t blame them but the people that keep voting them to power. If only we make suceeed in send couple these criminals to 50+ year in jail, things will change in record time. |

iphenon: Hello, I need advice from Real Estate agents in the house.
For the past few months I've been able to save up to 1.6million naira from my freelance business and I'm still working. When I told my Parents about the money and how I was thinking of the best way to invest it, they advised me to buy a land. We got a land (100x100ft) at a very good location and already on the verge of paying for it (1.4m)
Now here's my worry. The thought of building a house at this point frightens me. I want to make plans for four units of 3bedroom flat, but I have no idea of how much it would cost me (location: Benin).
My plan is to save like 2m then start building, and take things little by little. Is this a wise decision? Very good decision young man you have take, a journey of 100 years start with a step. I hope the don't have land dispute issue in that location. Never pay for land and leave it on developed even if 2 rooms with a toilet is what you can afford for now, stat building it tommorow morning. To have complete possession of your land. |

FastShipping: Enough of this mocking oga. It is one thing to be throwing shades and it's another thing if what you're doing is fair or accurate. Let me tell you one thing that the person you're throwing shades at is not a poor man who can't necessarily complete his project. Living in the US and building a big house is not an easy endeavor. That person you're throwing shades at pays bills here running between $5000-$7000 per month. How many people back home living in an expansive duplex located in horrible neighborhood with zero amenities can actually afford to pay 300,000 naira a month in bills? Make I jump in the middle here, that your $7000 a month na joke. Do you have younger adults in college yet, if not wait till then. You will no say that your $7000 is just 1 semester school fee for one child. That is for just regular college in most cities oh. If for some of those prestigious college my brother na loan and scholarship your income no feet, or less you are working in world Street, or Facebook, Google, Apple senior manager, or one of those Nigeria pen rubbers politicians. spyder880: To add to my post above, we also have the freelancers who do it all in one. These guys come to the site and measure then buy the roofing sheets and install themselves. But there is a caveat here.
Such all in one dealers are still going to visit the roofing companies and obtain the materials after paying. (therefore, making it a chain middlemen link that we were trying to avoid) Another risk is that these all in one dealers are so small that we sometimes fear to commit them with millions of Naira. A single guy, probably an experienced carpenter with a single small office to collect Such an amount sounds a little risky. Many people like me will feel better paying to the big roofing companies with a little more rest of mind. Doing it your way in my opinion is the best way to go about it, incase anything go wrong you won’t lose all your money. |

back2sender: Daboomb thanks so much for that exposition and thanks oga Hajji for confirming Jony Tech as been reliable but also to shine our eyes in business transactions.
Oga Daboomb my concern here is that 3 different people has been to my site to give qoutes but from hindsight these people are estimators and are not the actual people that will climb and fix the aluminium roofing sheets.
The question here is that can i cut off this estimators and find someone(roofer/carpentar) that can still measure the aluminium sheets needed and still climb and fix the roofing sheets.
The idea is to prune down the number of middle men in the chain.
This estimators dont do the jobs and they are the major sinkhole(fraud) in this process. I will pay directly to the company and sound a stern warning to the roofer am aware of thier tricks and also to the aluminium company staff. At least for them to know we know some of thier tricks. I work for my money and deserve to spend it wisely. So what says thou, daboomb! Hunnn, I understand your concern. With many of these guys, it’s had to get things right 100% as you wished, if you get 85% right with many of them, you’re very lucky. Otherwise it’s will cost you more, if you push to had on them. Talking from Experience, that Conpany is still very fear from other big names. Thanks to Hajji my deal with them last year, save me over 340k compare with other big names in the market. Best of luck. |

spyder880: Thank you Sir, I actually played the stock market heavily in 2004-2009. One of the sweetest feelings in this world, is having to open your mailbox to collect cheques sent from your companies. I was heavily invested in so many good stocks, and a few worthless companies. I sold out about 80% of my holdings when Sanusi arrived with his policies which aimed at killing investments. Used the funds realised to build houses.
My target this year is a more diversified portfolio of investments. I am looking at returning some funds to the stock market while increasing my holdings on lands. A new estate in Awka is on my mind. I also plan to start the production of something since I have free lands in many locations. Agricultural products, building material and any other type of products needed daily in Nigeria. May GOD bless us all. My brother you are one of the lucky ones. Those same stock you are talking about, I have some of them back when they were less than N1 then. Around that period of time you mention, I and my of my friends invested some good money in it. Many of them as we speak today became worthless paper. I can see you posted some of GT receipt, GT was not that bad. I remember when First Bank thumbled, all I saw was a decrease in value and increase of share numbers. One thing I can't not really understand is the recent system of linking Bank accounts to dividends, it has not been successful for me. Even when I instructed my account manger to link some of the dividends to my account. I do not have the luxury to go to those registrar office that scatter all over when I came around because of my limited time, to consolidate the accounts. I have not received any dividend in the last 14 years. I hope I have time one day to go and consolidate all those dividends to see if they have not turned into worthless paper again. |

AngelicBeing: This reminds me of what happened to me last year, I paid for a land in lagos, it cost 4.5million Naira , I asked them, hope there will be no hidden fees, they said No, to cut a long story short, after payment via my family member since I was not in Nigeria, the crackheads called my contact person in Nigeria that I have to pay extra 1, 700,000quid before allocation papers will be issued to me, l was furious, I wrote to the Special assistant to the Governor, with a detailed explanation of what happened, my letter caused a big problem in the organization because the Special assistant to the governor was angry at the way l was treated, l asked for a full refund or else I will fúçk all of them in different social media, the marketing department called me from Nigeria t to plead with me, l got my full refund back, I would have posted all the details here especially the conversation between me and the special adviser but some of the estate agents and managers are on Nairaland and I don't want to go beyond this based on the agreement l had with them before I got my refund , before you buy any land in all this estate, investigate properly and ask questions because many of them are dodgy and full of balonies How I wish every case of land scam is giving quick action like your, there will be no land scammers in name of real estate developer business in lagos. Many of them knew well how to lure mostly on informed buyers, to buy in to there paper plan estates. Imagine tricking one into buying an estate of 400 houses with false information that over 75% of the land as being sold, meanwhile in reality one could be the first 5 people that just bought in the estate. With tricks like these, one will be waiting for 5, 7 even 10 years for the estate to develop or end up in litigation that will take for ever or just give up your hard earn money. In another way, the company may disappear case closed. Si ke na owo wo igbo |

spyder880: I am one of the people who thinks the parapet was overhyped, and an avoidable cost which raises the overall cost of building construction. I have fought a few clients who wants the parapet on their high rise buildings. I have also experimented with the polystyrene material in one of my projects in PH.
I am even making a case for the continuation of aluminium claddings and edges. When done well, they are usually very beautiful.
Is the parapet fascia going out of fashion? I can't say so since the number of new builds with concrete or polystyrene parapets are more than the buildings without them. I will look at the wood or pinewood alternatives and see the advantages. Cost reduction and the look on the finished building are my focus. We should do well to adopt, or introduce new styles to improve building construction generally. I love your quote, creative ideals is the way to go. |

kindly share your minds with your experiences in such issues. Sometimes it is very frustrating to try to comprehend your writing by mixing characters and usage of English and pigin language together. I thought I was the only bad writer on this forum. In summary I hope this is not the format you use in trying to secure a contract. This is my special Christmas gift to you. I will recommend you taking English classes from EGUNMOGAJI/DABOOMB. I hope they will take their time in helping you in English language usage. If you are lucky to attend Daboomb classes you must be ready to learn how to write long essays. After graduation you must be creative in your own style of writing to summarize your writing in small paragraphs. Please do not take this as an insult, it's an honest advice that I believe can help moving forward. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance. Lets start a New Year with a new beginning. |

One thing that is clear to me; we have one specialist in the house that specializes in these kind of designs. He has proven himself beyond reasonable doubts. I used to think designs like these in my opinion is a little cheaper in actualizing.
