Back to your question, I have completed a bathroom without tiles and NO traces of dampness.
My village bathroom was built with 4 walls of Aluminum covered round the toilet with cross bar plank to cover the entrance with cloth hung on it, without running of pipes , instead we used bucket and fetching bowl to bath.
Cheapest and zero maintenance

Our routine is usually Colum first and that's what we are doing below... Good properly mixed concrete mixture of sand, granite, cement and Water

Trust you Dennis you never joke with quality of your project even with the speed that you deliver, you're bless to have a good crew that roll with your instructions. We are pleased to bring to your notice about our new project. A 5 Bedroom Duplex with Security and Gen.

We were recommended by Hajj Mufutau55 on this project. This is one of the very many projects he has referred us to and we have delivered and this by God's grace will be done In good time and in accordance to our SOP (Standard Operation and Procedure).

We are hoping to bring our professional touch to Ibadan people. This is going to be our first project in Ibadan, Oyo state and we are excited to meet the people here and learn their culture while doing our work.

There are many designs of ready made imported HDF interior doors with perfect finishing.
Between #120 to #150k

Shine your eyes on many of these so call imported HDF, many of them are actually mixtures of MDF in between with perfect looking finishing. FYI, even those Turkish Iron imported doors are made in Lekki free trade zone now. Some patriotic Nigeria Company are proudly printing made in Nigeria on their product instead of deceiving public with false information. There are many locally made door makers in Mushin and many other areas in our localities.

Topnotch finish, I hope these are Nigerian artisans finishing in pop, stair rail wooden. Many of Nigerian artisans don't pay attention to finishes even though they are good at what they do. That is there only weakness and I don't know why.

I think the issue as usual is that Nigeria becomes the dumping ground for defective solar equipments and also greed by some sellers.

I haven’t gone solar but have been researching. The inverter that meets “my” spec is N1.5M alone. Then the batteries and solar panels.

When people go solar I want them to realize that they have just adopted a miniature kanji dam.

@Egun published your research to help us now, we are here to learn. like you said, we understand all that already. Solutions is what we want. I hope this particular system will help your need, from what I understand this system is tie to national gird. I don’t know if they have that provisions in Nigeria national grid. Beside the complete kit of this system is about $16,000.

Please, which tile should I choose for my floor between Royal tiles and Goodwill tiles. I plan using matte (Unpolished) tiles on the floor.

Goodwill is better for floors, Royal for walls my opinion. I used them for couple of years back. No regrets till date even with heavy traffic area on the floor.

@Gbadexy. I don't get it, cost of materials or cost of labor applying it per smq? Many of those painters have to retrain themselves. Respect for Baba, he took his time taped everywhere that may stain when he painted my last project. I hate to see those stains everywhere after painting, many of them don't pay attention to that.

We got another 5000 Liters of GP tank that is going to be used as a reservoir for this project


In fact, the water system and supply of this project is the first of its kind we have done due to the peculiarity of the water in the estate

There is water challenge here because of too much iron deposit in the soil. So water treatment has proven to have failed in the estate in most cases. The estate have resorted to getting water through an external source that supplies for the entire estate from a central water supply system.

Now this system supports each resident that subscribes to it to have a connection from the central line with a booster pump that pumps from the central supply pipe to this reservoir. Now, as a private resident, you install a surface pressure pump that will take the water from the reservoir to the over head tank storage which will now supply the entire water around the building itself.

Welldone Engineer good job as always, this is an example of our people mentality Why do nature as to forced the estate management to do the right thing for their water usage, if they find solution for their water problems. Why can't them use same idea in providing central sewage system to the easte. I think is time for government and private estate developers to start providing these amenities to our estates across the county.

This is the latest update regarding the building project which I started in January 2015. I promised that I’ll use only my salary to fund it and wouldn’t resort to any borrowing from the Banks or credit providers.

I should have completed the project around 3yrs ago but life happened.

I went through
◾️Unemployment
◾️Bankruptcy
◾️Divorce
◾️Cancer treatment

All these challenges slowed down the building project but I’ve now rebounded from adversity by God’s grace.

I should finish the tile roofing by the end of this week. That cost me N4m.

I’ll be sharing picture updates here.

A recap: My plot in Calabar is 150x100 and an extra 50x50 added to the plot.

Not that much, it paid of the cost with time compare to water heater costs and energy consumption costs. Smart way to go, very efficient if you have enough capacity for the entire building.
