Gaddafih001: Wawa is another word for NO in Igboland. The statement was made popular byGovernor Onoh of Anambra state. Wa= no Wa wa=No no... So it is Wa.,Mbanu,mba... They all means no.. Igbo n’asu n’onu n’onu.. You are correct. Onoh nwa Ngwo (Bianca Onoh’s dad used wa very often, he was proud of their dialect. Bless his soul. Infact people from Nkanu/Agbani in Enugu referred to Ngwo people as Wawa people probably because of CC Onoh. |

Ofodirinwa: They are traditionally smiths and carvers (wa = to cut). So some of the groups in Enugu and Ebonyi are called that even if they're not themselves because that's where smithing came from (check Lejja, and Opi Iron sites from the time of the Egyptians).
Awka people are also wawa, but there are many Awka people on this website calling ppl wawa as an insult because they're not raised at home and are effectively not even Igbo people anymore. Wawa terminology has no link with blacksmithing or ‘wa’ (to cut). Enugu ngwo, Eke, Oye all use the word...wa..it means no or Wawa as an emphasis. Wawa wasn’t derogatory as far as I can remember. As a child growing up in Enugu, we used it as banter but it ends there just as Anglicans (CMS or ndi seleme) will banter Catholics (ndi fada). We used to sing “Wawa, oji okpa añu tea” but it ends there. Nothing serious. Enugu and Ebonyi people call us Anambra people ‘Ndi ijekebee or Ndi agbaenu’. |

The fool should’ve advised the woman to sort that out with your landlord. Get your landlord, your neighbours and the woman’s husband together and discuss this with them. I’m not sure you’ll get any help from the police if you went to the station. I don’t trust Nigerian police. It might complicate issues for you as the woman can ‘mobilise’ her colleagues against you...I might be wrong. Nigeria is a mess. If you have a means to escape that hole, do it ASAP. The north should be proud of their new boy in town.
The south east are pretending that this Neve happened.
I've checked those cows, they are not the original Igbo cows, these are northern cows from the north.
Next time we want to talk about the killings of Fulani herdsmen, let's not forget about the man in our backyard.
Who celebrated death with cows. Just the same way herdsmen justify the death of Nigerians with cows.
I'm out....

Chinenye "Chiney" Ogwumike is a Nigerian-American professional women's basketball player for the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association. As of 2020, she became the first Black woman to host a national radio show for ESPN, also being the first WNBA player to do so. Wikipedia Blame it on your typo mister. naptu2:

Football fans are having a difficult time understanding that, in terms of representation, the Nigerian National basketball team is just like the football team.
In D'Tigress we have players that were born in Nigeria and grew up in Nigeria before going abroad to play professionally, that is, people like the former captain, Aisha Balarabe (nee Mohammed), the star Evelyn Akhator, Elo Edeferioka, etc. We also have players that were born abroad to Nigerian parents. These players have visited Nigeria many times and they are in touch with Nigerian culture. I'm referring to people like Sarah Ogoke, Ezinne Kalu and Atonye Nyingifa.
Like I said, it's just like the football teams. You would not say that Alex Iwobi and Victor Moses, who were born in Nigeria but moved abroad when they were little, are not Nigerians or don't know anything about Nigeria. You would not say that Osaze Odemwingie, who was born in Uzbekistan, is not Nigerian. You won't say that Bright Dike, who was born in the US, is not Nigerian. So what's the big deal about the Nigerian basketball players that's making so many people make ill-informed assumptions?
There have been many Nigerian born basketballers who have played for other countries (e.g. Akeem Olajuwon), just as there have been many Nigerian born footballers who have played for other countries (e.g. Emmanuel Olisadebe), so what's the big deal? That reminds me...Darly Dike scored a brace for the US soccer team early this morning. Daryl is Courtney Dike’s brother. Their elder brother Bright Dike also played for Nigeria. |

OyigboUpdate: The victims has not been killed yet. The people commenting are pleading with IPOB to spare their lives. Especially the police man. These men might not be held by IPOB or ESN. Whoever is responsible for their abduction is trying hard to throw a spanner in the works of the separatist’s goal. IPOB gains nothing from their execution and the separatist group I believe is aware of the risks involved holding onto these men and recording it. Think about it...These men would’ve been killed when they were caught. Why the video? What’s to gain from displaying them like this? They are asking for ransom and the real criminals behind this knew IPOB isn’t into kidnapping for ransom. The aim to garner public sentiment against IPOB. It has the signature of the bank robbery in Anambra. This isn’t IPOB. |

People will rather sleep at the airport with their luggage, while resting their legs on it in case someone tries to take it. I'll rather drop an empty traveling bag there(to book space),then come later to drop my things when we're about traveling. The bags must’ve been weighed and ready to be checked in the day after. How can you retrieve them when you should be boarding on your travel date? Ain’t gonna work. |
