The picture was actually taken yesterday when they were about to leave.
All the best to them.

Where were they travelling from?
Are you saying that these people travelled all the way to Abuja without any problem from the police or military?
The checkpoints on the roads waved them through??

Send us their arrival photos please.

I still think this is not wise....travelling in this manner.
Politics › Re: Biafrans Heading To Abuja For Nnamdi Kanu Trial.pics by KosiGee(m): 6:19am On Jul 26, 2021
I don’t believe these are recent photos. If IPOB intend being at the court venue, they should’ve travelled and made themselves comfortable days before…travelling like this is very risky and they are screaming…come and arrest me.

Army and police check points along the roads would stop, detain both the men and their vehicles.

This is good thread but please can you stop the Yoruba and Bini banters.
The title of this thread isn’t doing much justice to very educative content.

Okpogo or okpogho is a term I’ve heard and I’ve used in the past to refer to money. I thought it was just some ordinary slang. I didn’t know the meaning was deeper than that. People from Imo/Abia use it a lot even till date.

I just read that the name means money in Efik...

However in the 40s, the British had problem trying to phase it out. The campaign met with lots of difficulties as Igbos continued to use it. It wasn’t until 1949 that the effort to discontinue its use became successful.

Pls change the title. It’s ruining the thread.

Politics › Re: Why Are Igbos Bothered That Reno Said Bini Or Itshekiri Sold Them As Slaves by KosiGee(m): 3:47pm On Jul 25, 2021

Yes because the bulk of people engaging Reno are not the right people to engage him.

When someone talks about you it is left for you to clear your name and not someone doing that for you.

If you can't refute such histories then it is obvious they were slaves

Simple as ABC
The bulk of people attacking Reno are the right people to do that.
Reno is a hypocrite and a mischievous individual.
Reno is an educated person and if he wasn’t being mischievous, who shield and hid the particular group of people he meant…he clearly didn’t want to disclose those people. Did you watch his video. He said that it would be offensive to mention the group of people and town…He thought it was disrespectful to mention and tag the group but it wasn’t rude to say that Igbos were enslaved or that the itsekiris sold Igbos as slaves!!…what do you call that?
I wasn’t bothered about Igbos being old as slaves but Reno was misrepresenting facts. He clearly hasn’t done his research very well or he has but chose to be bias.

I’m sure he would’ve gotten himself in a deeper mess if he had mentioned those people and tagged them Igbos.

He mentioned the origin of some Portuguese words which he claimed were the places where Igbo slaves were sold.

The Portuguese has strong cultural and historical ties with Brazil and the rest of Latin America… what’s the major African ethnic group that populate these places? How did they get there? What’s the influence of Benin empire and Portugal in this?

What about Cuba, Haiti etc? There are lots of evidence out there.
Reno chose a carving done for oba spoken about by Attenborough who is more of an observational natural anthropologist to make his claim.

I’ll be back.

My fianceé anger issue is worrisome to me. ones she has a bad day, I will get my own share at home. I have begged her all i need in this marriage is togetherness, peace (she jokingly calling me Mr. peace of mind).

She just graduated and we are staying together for 2months now. She can be very sweet and hardworking, caring, can clean, arrange the house. I don't expect her to be this all good cos NOBODY is perfect, but her anger issue a big turn off.

When her Project supervisor was purposely frustrating her, and told her he will not accept her work and she will not defend (it was sorted out later) . I tried to talk and advise her she angrily walked out of my car in the middle of the road.

That night she wasn't talking to me and i started a call n went to the parlor, she came and was asking whom i was talking to and i said my guy, she queried but why did i go to the parlor, she flung our engagement ring away without knowing whom i was talking to (not cheating or calling any girl) she makes rash decisions when angry. like She can scatter our 2weeks plans cos of a small provocation.

I Love her but the anger issues is killing.
Leave that woman when you have the time and chance.
That’s a big red flag. Call it quits ASAP.

I know someone who is going through same…a once ‘strong’ well respected by mates and feared by enemies about 7 years ago, his fiancée had same anger issues. Very nice girl, beautiful and intelligent. He liked her cos she was fiery….used to say that his kids would be smart, intelligent and no one would bully them…

My friend has lost custody of his daughter…domestic violence triggered by the woman smashing ceramics and hailing cutlery at him. He reacts and metro police lands and dude packs out of his house.

Romance › Re: Help! I Don't Feel Sexually Attracted To My Fiancée by KosiGee(m): 4:15pm On Jul 24, 2021
zyphr:
I have been in a relationship with my girlfriend since September 2019. I intend to marry her.
The problem is that, I don't desire her sexually. Any intimate touch from her feels like the touch from a blood sister. Very uncomfortable.
She is a strict Christian with a policy of no premarital sex. So we have never had sex except for occasional kissing and romance which I sometimes initiate.
However, since January this year, I lost sexual attraction towards her and I avoid even simple touches. In fact, last Sunday we were walking down the street and when she placed her arms round my shoulder, I stylishly evaded it. I don't feel like this towards every other woman.

I'm currently not seeing any other lady but I have had sexual flings with two different ladies including an ex.

Question is: Is sexual attraction/desire neccesary for marriage? Is it normal not to feel sexually attracted to your partner? Can this be a basis for break up as I fear it might persist in marriage and make me cheat on her.
It is very very very important. Don’t let anyone deceive you. If you do not feel it for someone that you want to spend the rest of your life with…QUIT and don’t look back.

SOUTHERN UNITY grin grin grin

That is why i love southern unity....it is a disguise for one ethnic group to dominate another. grin
South is very dynamic and not a group of people anyone can pocket. Everyone is free to air his or her opinions. We can criticise and show adoration at the time.

If you show love, you’ll get love, if you show disrespect, you’ll get it.

Igbos will be Igbos, Yorubas will be yorubas, Ijaws will be Ijaws. Southern unity doesn’t mean you’ll keep quiet and chew cod like goats when you are displeased. That’s the beauty of being from the south. Uniqueness and the freedom to make yourself heard. Luckily, those at the centre are hard of hearing but there are avenues out there to blast it out there.

Nigeria survives because of the south. Now hear this, anytime the south decides to end Nigeria. Nigeria wouldn’t survive a second. It’s all in the hands of the south.

Reno has been on some mischief lately but that tweet by Ikenga Okija was rude and uncalled for.

Politics › Re: Was There Ever Slave Trade In Northern Nigeria? by KosiGee(m): 11:52am On Jul 24, 2021
Jerryherd:
cool

It was very rampant in the North, their trading route were both trans Sahara and trans Atlantic

Tafawa balewa's grandfather was a repatriated slave saved by British Navy

The major problem was that after Fulanis took over Hausa kingdoms, they only kidnapp and sold hausas... This made many Hausa flee down South and met with British Colonialist soldiers

The British and the Hausa fleeing slaves started the British west Africa frontier force... They succeeded in sending Fulani emirs away and stopping slave trade

British in turn made Hausa the First Constabulary of Nigeria , later local police, which later became Nigerian Army

.
grin grin grin grin

Arrewa brodas have been very troublesome since the beginning of time.

Those skinny men cause so much anxiety and stampede everywhere they set their cracked heels.
I watched a video of one Emir I think from Taraba talking tough with his hands shaking and lamenting about the destructions of Arrewa Jalo brodas.
Fulanis should be fumigated so Nigeria will breathe fresh air.

Who is this Deji Adeyanju?? He has been everywhere over the past two weeks accusing Obi Cubana of not being legit, giving advice to IPOB to flood the venue of Nnamdi Kanu’s trial and now he is breathing down Tinubu’s neck.

Is he related to Kemi Olunloyo and Ogundamisi Kayode? If he isn’t related to them, I wonder what their team would be like when they come together to attack any individual.

Falcons should be playing the Slovenia women national team and beating them convincingly.

We shouldn’t get hyper because they scored and won Nk Olympija women by a lone goal scored by Oparanozie.

The team is full of talents and has great potentials but has seriously under performed…that’s why we have Zambia Shipolopolo at Tokyo disgracing Africa at the Olympics. Falcons need to raise their game. They have struggled terribly against teams like Ghana, South Africa and most recently Cameroun.
Politics › Re: Igbo Vs Bini: Reno Omokri Destroys Uche Chuta In A Public Debate (VIDEO) by KosiGee(m):
I tried watching this conversation or discourse but it was hard to watch. Uche Chuta was really making me angry. Dude was all over the place, incoherent, restless and impatient. He made it possible for Reno to keep reiterating his opinion that Igbos are very sensitive.

Mister Reno, I’m sure you are reading this...Uche is not a true representation of an average Igbo man.

I’m not sure why he decided to do this but I’m disappointed. He didn’t know the history of slavery in Nigeria. If you are going to confront someone on a live video, at least know the basics of the topic you are going to discuss. He was stammering and not articulate.

Reno was being dishonest and mischievous as well. It was easy for him to generalise and mention Igbos as slave but sensitive about mentioning the name of the particular tribe or group of people that settled about his place. It would be disrespectful to mention them but not offensive to the generality of Igbo people.

The Benin empire raided Igbo towns according to Reno because those towns and clans were easy targets due to Igbos not having a kingdom or central authority.

I think he should have mentioned the areas which the Oba and his soldiers raided. Reno isn’t being a true historian if his documentary is affected by personal bias and sentiments.
Perhaps an expose on how the Oba crosses the Niger in his mighty boats/ships made by his excellent engineers, raided towns then went back to Benin would’ve been more convincing...but no he didn’t do that,

According to Reno, raiding of Igbos were possible because of no central government and the Osu caste system. He doesn’t know what he is talking about if he neglected the main source of the trade in Igbo land.

Reno has some mischief in him or he had been misled by his own arrogance. Story is as good as they person telling it.

Would the oba welcome a carving of so called Igbo enemies killing his men? Who verified the carvings and the authenticity of the story behind the wars?
The moat as well were built by Igbo slaves!! Meaning that Benin empire fought against and captured only Igbo slaves!.

Oba came from Benin, came down all the all the way to Alaigbo, raided towns, collected slaves, crossed the river and transported these people back to Benin!

Reno, if Oba raided some towns around him, or fought against the people, please educate us. I want to learn and I would like to have a face to face discussion with him. I have lots of questions to ask....
