TalkTalkTwins:Give glory to God and appreciate science, knowledge, scientists and all those who invest so much to make the world we live in better. You and that righteous man should stop being delusional and appreciate the good efforts being made by the scientists. God has given them that special talent, blessed their hardworks and revealed certain mysteries to them. The efforts they put into their works more than 50 years ago have yielded immense dividends of which you and many others have benefitted from. You wouldn’t be here typing and uploading messages in virtual space if not for them. You wouldn’t be getting breaking news of what’s happening thousands of miles away without their inputs, you wouldn’t be watching live sports etc if not for them, today you and many other people are able to drive to places you’ve never been to simply by using Sat Navs, their weather reports have helped so many farmers and prevented famines, food shortages since you are more concerned about starving people, their knowledge about the weather have also saved many lives and properties. Appreciate God’s work bro and stop sounding silly. |
@cantdieinsilenc, Just to add that anyone supporting this spiritual wife thing while ignoring the root of the problem need his head examined as well. The seers he had seen are all spiritually blind and fakes. They are the ones who comes to your site/compound to perform ‘wonders’ by digging up Iocked keys, bones and other nonsense. You mister have one primary problem. That problem is...just like the fake pastors you’ve ran into, you also need to re-evaluate yourself in the building industry. Collapsed buildings, buildings with cracks around the foundations, gable ends, new buildings with leaky roofs, bent and non aligned pillars, damps, moulds, horrible plumbings are all traceable to quackery in the building industry. These cost clients more money, depressions, frustrations and the grand daddy of them all...loss of lives of hard working and unsuspecting people. These can all be prevented by someone like you knowing their limitations and working hard to correct them. Up to 50 building projects and non completed and you are running all over the place asking people who can’t spell or pronounce the word ‘building’?? For you and them, there’s got be someone causing all the problem and it’s got to be your wife!! Nwanne mulu anya. Even well qualified architects, building technologists and project managers do engage in continuous personal developments and further professional engagements that help to keep them up to date in the business. Learn your job well and you’ll give testimony here. Leave your wife out of these for now. |
Cantdieinsilenc:Nwokem mechie onu gi...Shut it and stop blaming your wife. You’ve allowed the devil to mess up your mind by your belief and seeking solutions from frauds and scammers who use religious establishments to exploit vulnerable people like you....If you had gone to another of those charlatans and told him/her that you were unmarried....you’d be surprised they’d blame your late grand father, uncle or even step mother if you told them that you live with one. Free your mind from nonsense. Now let’s start somewhere,.....Are you an ARCHITECT? You claim to be a builder....where did you get your certification and training? How did you get into the building trade? If you had done or been involved in over 45 buildings in ten years, that’s 4-5 building projects every year on the average...or 1 + building every quarter....And you’ve never finished a single project?? !!! There lies your problem. No ACCOMPLISHMENTS and achievements since you started hustling....What reasons do your clients give before discharging you from the site?? I think you’ve been repeating the same mistakes over and over again in various building sites...Again I ask, where did you get your training? Leave your domestic and matrimonial issues for now and seek personal development. You’ll never go hungry or unfulfilled from knowing your job in and out and doing exactly that when you get a contract...no matter how bad a person that you are. Let me break it down...you need to RETRAIN...you don’t know what you are doing. Aka oma/olu oma na ele onwe ya....talent and expertise sells itself. Your handwork and knowledge is your billboard. If you know your job and execute it well, you’d be getting calls left, right and centre. You’d be overwhelmed if you are good at your job that your wife will treat you with a bit more respect. Clients discharge you from the site before you cause them irreparable damages. Seek further training if building is a passion. Deal with that before accusing your wife of having a spiritual husband...if really your wife has one, don’t you think the spiritual husband would’ve stricken you with impotence or “”1 minuteness””for dining on the ‘ same table, same food and same plate with him’?? |
Bkayyy:Copyright infringement is a sad reality. I think every artiste should get permission to use other people’s works or at least acknowledge the source...However Ejike Nwamba in my opinion is ironically one of the most commercially successful of the ogene guys. He has great personality, he reaches out to people who acknowledge and pay for his services. I believe that he should acknowledge the source of his borrowed songs but I don’t think Ajofia Nnewi would hinder his success. That’s being paranoid...Ajofia Nnewi though is in a class of his own with his esoteric philosophical renditions...very scary masquerade, comes out with so much knowledge and deep sacred vibes. Listening to it, you’d think you are in some haunted environment hearing the voice of the ghost of some 1000 year old catholic priest officiating a mass. |
descarado:Seven seven Okonkwo Asa na Enugwu Ukwu might’ve metamorphosed from ekpili. Not sure about that but he did mention that he mum was also a musician and I think ekpili might’ve been their main instrument but Seven Seven’s primary instrument was guitar. He apparently had a competition with his mum in 1947 during an ichi ozo ceremony. His guitar was prominent in his songs and he was a story teller. I’d say that he belonged to Mike Ejeagha’s type of music. Not sure what to call that. |
Barryseal:Yes that’s him. Igwa nshi/ogene ended at 06:17. |
@Barryseal, Afam4eva... This jantamanta. This isn’t pure ogene/nmanwu music...slight diversion here but the ogene incorporation gave this harmony. This song became popular after Chimaroke and Chime left office. It’s a feel good music...funny and very beautiful. Just to add that this beat, melody and song is popular and unique to Eke town...I think this is Igwa nshi music with Jantamanta’s ogene. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBMq8wtuJs0 |
Barryseal:Ogene god is an understatement. Melodies like this should be preserved. If you love ogene and you don’t like Opanka then something must be wrong. I pray for these guys everyday. One of friends rapped to opanka’s ogene some years ago and I wished I had recorded that. We were talking about various Igbo musics and I mentioned ogene, then played him of his songs and he started some freestyle. It was so beautiful. |
This is Opanka years ago trying to create something from the scratch. This video should be part of a documentary on Ogene if ever there’s one. Opanka is a legend. He is special and doesn’t plagiarise other peoples songs. When you hear his beats, voice and songs, they are so unique. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVwJTXz7j98 |
Barryseal:Respect bro. I didn’t want to sound like I was hyping Opanka...I think he is one of the most talented ogene man I know. No disrespect to Jajaja and Ejike Nwamba. These two made ogene very attractive to lots of people but when it comes to raw talent, ogene rhythm and versatility, I’ll give it to Opanka. I think he is the most underrated ogene man. He is on my top 4. Pls watch this video, listen to sounds, watch his hand, his balance and swag. Credit to one Eugene Skeef who was kind enough to record and upload this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKAtGmgO3mk |
Arrewa:Of all the many comments here on this thread, of all the many posters, you’d have to focus on an Igbo name, his comment and as usual generalise about Igbos. What a miserable sadist and hypocrite. What are you really doing on this thread mister? Of all the many challenges facing the north, why don’t you also face your region and tackle your leaders? Your claim about Igbos is wrong. Obaseki isn’t the only candidate that Igbos supported who emerged victorious....Igbos voted against Buhari an it was a resounding victory for Igbos and any right thinking Nigerian. If the election was done again, Igbos will give him less than 5%....put that in your pipe and smoke it. Your Buhari is bad for himself, bad for you zombies, horrible for your region and Nigeria and an embarrassment to leadership and governance. Leave Igbos alone, it’s strange how you claim to be an advocate of humanity but lack the simple ideals of that. |
Phut:This is not ogene dance or battle. This is an Achikolo dance. |
Catholic priests are not left out. The one in red hat prays with mbem while the other complements his prayers with ogene. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dtzk904ziIc |
Awutolo and Fada with their “Eji ogene eyim egwu” song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgtoY8-cvVI&list=PLEBvt5vRHt88yTAq-8u2msUzDGuZxm-45&index=3 |
IDENNAA:Owoblow and Who know man. This is beautiful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWm2tXJNWCg |
oglalasioux:You can’t really blame these guys. Times changes and they want to try out things and adapt to popular demands. Church and it’s influence has dealt traditional ogene a hard blow. Most of the the talents in Ogene genre incorporate various instruments to attract ‘church goers’. Some of them don’t sing traditional ogene/nmanwu songs anymore. They had to sing some gospel or mention Christ and Chineke to sell their musics. Udubunchi did that, Shidodo tried that. Ejike Nwamba and co are doing that now. They’ve also turned to praise singers to earn cash. It happens in every music. Even Snoop Dogg would make music with Justin Bieber to attract young teenagers. |
oglalasioux:There are people who are keeping it real. Owoblow Malaika of Awka Awutolo Opanka ijele from Iwolo |
RedboneSmith:Calm down bro. This isn’t an Anambra vs Enugu fight. I don’t know how old you are or how old some of the posters here are including Afam. Ogene actually is an Anambra thing. Agaba, Okwomma, Okiti masquerades were very popular in Anambra back in the days and the primary musical instruments for these legendary masquerades are Ogene. Nri, Agukwu, Enugwu ukwu, Awka, Achi towns were very popular with their masquerades and ogene sounds. These were when the Inyiagbaoku masquerades were very popular in Enugu.... In the 70s/80s, if you went to Obiagu and Onuasata during Easter, New Year and other festivities, the big masquerades were Ayaya masquerades...Ejike Nwamba honed his ogene skills as a child celebrity with Ayaya...pioneers of this great masquerade were mixed...Anambra, Enugu and Imo residents in Enugu.... Then you have the Ogui Boys from Oba street, Egede Lane, Ogidi st etc. This was mainly populated by people who work at the ‘ Timber shed’ around Oba street. Most of these workers and Ogui Boys group were from Ekwulobia town. Around Moore House st Ogui, there was the Moore house boys headed by Ogenna Ikeme who was at National grammar school Nike at the time, he later played for Rangers and Vasco. Then there another guy who leads or holds their ite/akpa ogwu...his nick name was Taata. One young ogene celebrity called Chido was their chief ogene man, Chido attended Maryland Boys. There was no distinction between Anambra and Enugu at the time...but in Okiti, Okwomma masquerades, Anambra people were very conservative, Enugu guys had other masquerades...Amagunze boys had a popular and scary group called ‘Black Children’ of Amagunze. They wore blacks with red bands on their heads. The men who were in this group should be in their 60s-70s now....Ayaya group apart from the Nwambas should be in their 60s-80s...same as Ogui Boys whose slogan was ‘ Ogui adi agba boi. There were other groups from Abakpa, Awkunanaw. You can’t really start talking about Ogene music in anywhere without mentioning Ogene Ikpachi of Nri. They had their music on vinyl. Their strength was their ogene songs. Most of what the new generation ogene musicians like Ejike, Igboja, Donchester sing now were old songs done in the 70s-80s by Nri people. Try and listen to ogene with an unbiased mind. Igbojaja is popular because he is readily available and interacts with guys who come to Okpara sq to exercise and also his YouTube channels. Ejike Nwamba is popular, he is an old hand and also has YouTube channel. Shidodo used to be very popular. He popularised ogene music. His cassettes and CDs could be bought at Obiagu junction. Pls check out Owoblow and Man pass man. He plays undiluted ogene. If you love egwu nmanwu and ogene...search and listen to Awutolo and Fada from Enugu Ukwu with their Ogene Nkpakija. Awutolo is dead now but his songs can’t be touched. He is a legend. If you want to hear and appreciate ogene that’s different from Nwamba and Igbojaja....listen to Ogene Opanka....Ogene Opanka Ijele. This guy is easily recognisable. He balances a bottle of beer or alcohol on his head before he starts. He is really talented. He is into Ogene and Egwu nmanwu. Then there is Donchester and Jantamanta is is another talented guy. |
Arrewa:Keep kwayet. Have you mocked IPOB today? Buhari is a failure. Stop mentioning him here. |
This is in Sri Lanka or India
|
daddytime:It happens everywhere...not just in Nigeria. First picture didn’t happen in Nigeria.
|
Austineva:Oshiomhole and APC will use ‘federal might’ to rain on his parade. APC will rig out Obaseki. |
I saw a shank slightly beneath the warthog. How many limbs does it have? I want to believe that the meat wasn’t part of the bush pig. |
bigt2:Tufiakwa. People will consume just anything. |
