Patient communication is a core value in almost all the hospitals. Patient need to know what’s happening to them, how they will be examined, what will happen in the room, WHO will examine them and how. If they are not comfortable with that, they can refuse treatment...same way Jehova witnesses have the right to refuse blood transfusion and other treatment procedures, Muslim women can refuse treatment or be alone in the room with a male doctor or even refuse to be touched by a male medical worker be it...paramedic, nurse, radiographer or doctor. Before you touch a patient, you have to seek consent and you have to explain what you are doing...if they feel uncomfortable with that at any point during the exam...the exam must not continue.

You and your wife should’ve requested for a female doctor.

The hospital acted unprofessional as well. They should’ve explained to your wife before the male doctor examined her. She should be given options to have a female gynaecologist. In the absence of a female gynaecologist, hospital should’ve provided a chaperone. If the doctor were in the room alone with your wife, that wasn’t professional. He acted careless by doing that. He should’ve protected himself by asking a female chaperone to be there with him...that way, even if he was the only doctor there, your wife would’ve felt more reassured.

Nigerian medical workers need to re-evaluate and reflect on their practices and management, elsewhere, this doctor would be on a lot of trouble.

It all depends on the laws guiding revenue and tax collection.
In some countries, quiz show prizes are not taxed. Quiz shows like ‘who want to be a millionaire’ and others like it are not taxed. Winners go home with their prizes but for reality shows like Big Brother, Music talent shows where the contestants have to be accommodated over a period of time, some countries see that as part of their work...contestants are seen as employees and prizes won are taxed.
There was a similar case in Germany few years ago where someone like Laycon was asked to pay his tax.

I’m not sure how it works in Nigeria but I think that Laycon should pay his tax to federal inland revenue rather than Lagos state or Ogun state...
