Education › HOW YOUR IELTS WRITING IS ASSESSED by kunyeo(op): 1:20pm On Apr 24, 2018*. Modified: 7:16pm On May 10, 2018 |
Hi guys,I was an examiner and teacher of English-related subjects, with some insights into assessment, which I hope to share with you on this forum especially as it relates to IELTS.Keep the question coming!
Task Achievement- This criterion generally assesses how appropriately, accurately and relevantly the response fulfils the requirements set out in the task, using the specific number of words given-150 for Task 1 and 250 for Task 2.You are also assessed on the basis of how fully developed your answer is, in terms of relevance and full development.
Coherence and Cohesion-This criterion is concerned with the overall clarity and fluency of the message: How the response organizes and links information, ideas and language. Simply, the ‘flow among sentences and paragraphs.’ It assesses the ordering of information or ideas; how these are organized and whether or not there is a logical progression in the content presented across the whole script. Effective use of paragraphs is equally salient here.
Lexical Resources-The examiner here assesses the range and variety of vocabulary the candidate has used with natural and sophisticated control and the accuracy and appropriacy of the use, in terms of the specific task. Idiomatic expression, sophisticated phrasing and spelling are also addressed here.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy- This part tests the range, accuracy and flexibility of the candidate’s grammatical resource, as shown in the candidate’s writing at sentence level. The following are also assessed: Being able to manage successfully the relationship between complex and simple sentences; writing with minimal grammatical errors and accurate/appropriate use of punctuation. |

Mille: Just say you are jealous.
I cohabited when I was in the University. Neither me nor the girl had a spillover. Same Faculty, Same level and graduated same time. Infact, having someone around was more like a blessing for me. Though I agree it's a financial strain for your pocket.
I'm currently rounding up my Masters at one of the top Grand-Ecoles in France. So eat that up. A kid heaped abuses on the Iroko tree and is looking back ,expecting a reprisal, forgetting that it is not the day a neophyte wrongs the god that it fights back.Wont you marry one day? And possibly have daughters!Boys will do worse to them! Karma always has it way! |
Crime › Re: EFCC Arrests And Arraigns Akpaikpe Etim For Internet Fraud (Photo) by kunyeo(m): 10:23am On Nov 25, 2017 |
Hedonistically: Can you imagine such watery and nonsensical charges? How is it a crime in itself to have several inflows of money into one's account in spite of not having a "stable job"? And which law makes a person culpable for not being able to "satisfactorily account for" money in his possession?
The EFCC is full of retarrrds and barely literate nincompoops, mostly of Northern origin. This is why the agency is so clueless and inefficient. Instead of you to carry out thorough investigations and gather water tight evidence, you would conduct stupid raids and charge people to court for flimsy reasons. After you would blame 'corrupt judges" for your inability to secure convictions. Waya waya crew would come to defend his own! |

I am a teacher and one thing I teach my students is to have native intelligence which is lacking in most city dwellers. It is simply being conscious of wherever you find yourself and its nuances.Somebody mentioned the guys appearance and the truth is ,with that kind of looks, the odd is stacked against him because of a typical Nigerians parochial orientation. I was once in Ilorin around the kings palace and we realised nobody had uncovered head. With our almost naked students on excursion from Lagos,we had to adjust!
Another question,is how did the guy address the SARS guys? When you are confronting a uniform man who probably did not have the privilege of education what do you expect?A,man who lacks wisdom to know how to deal with different situations and persons is simply stupid. |

Politics › Re: What Is Responsible For The Reduction In Herdsmen-Farmers Conflict? by kunyeo(m): 7:07am On Oct 05, 2017 |
Mynd44: Shows how much you know. When the rains come, most of these nomads go up north due to the return of vegetation up north and the presence of tsetseflies down south and with the herdsmen, the criminals among them hiding and disguising as herdsmen move.
The struggle between herdsmen and farmers can only be solved when herdsmen are able to source for food without going far away. Which was why Audu Ogbeh suggested importing high quality grasses which can survive the dry season up north which prevents herdsmen from going south to bother farmers or even farmers in the north.
Putting cattle in ranches is just going to cause meat scarcity in Nigerian. Ranch them up north, no food for 6 months each year.
Ranch them in the south, tsetsefly kills substantial amounts of them. Only solution is alternative feeding 0 Thanks for this comment devoid of tribal sentiments and parochialism.WHY AT TIME I DETEST THIS PLATFORM BECAUSE IT IS FILLED WITH KIDS WHO GAINED SNEAKY ACCESS TO THEIR PARENTS DATA TO EXPRESS NONSENSE.The constant clash is all about struggle for limited grazing ground aggravated more by global warming. |
