Grit2943:And we now know what would have happened if you had christian christian presidential candidates as you had Muslim Muslim today. People should get wiser and not make simple comments and dismiss these things as if they are unimportant. It might be unimportant to you but if it is important to some else then you may need to reevaluate it's importance to you. Civilization has died and overrun and extinguished when people become complesant and simple minded. |
abhosts:Democracy is really any government that the people choose. It's is not a civilian or military or monarchy or no government at all. It can be any or all of them, provided it assures the property, happiness and development of the people. |
onez:And I wonder what a supreme court judge of over 60years, whose needs are met by the country would collect bribe and circumvent judgement. Maybe we should hand the country leadership to women. The Abia state NEC commissioner and this woman are good examples. |
ganisucks:Another classic case of a blind shot........failing to look and see how all things connect. Subsidy, Fx, inflation etc Optics was good.......but will see how good lasts as the reality grinds on....... |
helinues:The new Lekki Deep Sea Port is 75% owned by the China Harbour Engineering Company and Tolaram group, with the balance shared between the Lagos state government and the Nigerian Ports Authority. |
Generalmystic:That is the fact. Jonathan is a typical ijaw man not this guy. |
EBMedia:How ame an explanation. And he is the Senate president Every educated intelligent person should join politics. Guys is time to take this country back. You might not win election today but you will begin to influence how this folks emerge as leaders |
https://punchng.com/petrol-sells-for-n700-per-liter-in-kwara/?amp[/quuote] the N8000 per month gift voucher will buy 11 litres of fuel per month and 66litres in 6 months, which is about the tank capacity of any v6 engine. After 6 months what next?? Please is there any station dedicated for discounted cost for APC members and all those who share affiliation with the president or those who bought the message that subsidy benefits the rich. Are we all buying from sme market ![]() |
DomPerignon:False. |
jargonzboi:You meant to write militant? or has been serving his respective master and grounded port Harcourt economy. Creating anarchy, kidnap, killing and insecurity in the lad leading the exit of people and company. The outcome is many money in his pocket at the detriment of life's lost, families distabilized, jobs lost, business that closed down and a state economy that deminished. |
Creeper:I have realized that Soyinka is just a man like anyone of us with preferences and prejudice, underscoring the need for everyone of us to make an independent decision and not second class to any or influenced by the judgment or conclusion of other. |
insidelife22:I am wondering what about Saudi Arabia, UAE, EGYPT,Turkey etc. I am also wondering what happened to the Saudi prince for spearheading the murder of a US journalist from Saudi in Turkey during Trump administration. How did the US respond when Sisi. Current leader of Egypt overthrew a democratically elected Moslem brotherhood, and jailed him. Sisi retired from military and while still head of state contested an election he midwifed and became president of Egypt till today. They still get military aid from USA Reading this is rediculous and is a drama of absurdity |
Lutherblaq:Really wondering why am reading about what this simple.mind has to say, other than to educate younger folks about him. Please google about him. Think about Niger Delta and how he made money off the back of his own people in the name of fighting for justics. The loss of Port Harcourt is the gain of Lagos. He and his friends Ateke Tom, Boy loaf, Charles Tailor etc made Port Harcourt and environs horror btw 2000 and 2007, creating mass exodus of people and oil companies to Lagos. Similar to Warri incident. Anybody who worked in oil and gas sector in this forum can attest . Massive capital and economic flight. Port Harcourt, lovely peaceful town, full of expatriates, where nearly all Nigerian graduate headed for oil and gas jobs and with a thriving economy became a ghost of itself. His action and that of his friends spiraled into kidnapping, killings and insecurity in the once lovely town. He look the money he made and headed off to Benin republic and Togo. Built the so called university. Keep in mind he is uneducated. Is this who you want to listen to or take serious Only in Nigeria do this kind of people have a voice |
nairalandkachy1:Again reading simple comment by Nigerians not deep thinking.. This a clearly trump up charges, which may disappear tomorrow. Dose any body really think that the leverless Emefiele can take those actions and decision he did by himself in Buhari government, unless you don't know him.Come on guys, don't be simple. Please take sometime and research and ask people that worked with Zenith back 10years ago about him before coming to a conclusion on these things. Godwin is weak without lever, the kind of yes sir yes sir, what do you want sir, guy. Don't Ruffle the feathers, just do what the boss wants and how he wants it and give him more. Keep your ideas.. That is why Jim made him MD of Zenith bank, while maintaining a office close to the HQ to control and run the bank while Emefiele is the public face. That is why he was norminated to Good luck. That is why he is the only Good luck administration appointee left in Buhari government, despite tagging the government corrupt, when CBN paid out the money and subsidy scam in question at that time. Think guys. Guys, why do you think Buhari government reappointed a Jonathan staff?? With all you know about Buhari administration, they reappointed Emefiele?? He gets the job of the master done. Period Tinubu has just appointed who will get his job done. So please don't rejoice. That is how it works. Not about Nigerians. |

GeneralPula:I am unsure why you are wiping up ethnic dimension on matter that has zero ethnic tone. You must not defend or promote your candidate at all cost...even with your life or that of others. If Nigeria falls today he will have no place to govern. You may want to consider for a moment the wider implication of ethnic crises. Look at how integrated that country is with over 200million people. If you live in that country and cause it to implode, you might not escape it. Just look around you and determine how many of those around you at work, school, church, home, mosque, business etc are from your ethnic extraction or faith. How do you even know or differentiate them. They may speak your language and look like you. In crises you chance of survival is as good as the alternative. Stop spreading ethnic sentiment. It's dangerous focus on the matter, specially if you live in Lagos or the major metropolitan cities. STOP NOW. Discuss the issues not the tribe, religion or lanaguage. This is for all those who live in Nigeria. Some of these guys that make this divisive comment may not live in Nigeria and if they do, it's unfortunate. Please always shut them up and don't listen to any ethnic or religious begot. |
Antimandatethie:Thanks. Let's keep preaching this message, with the hope that many will open their eyes and see the vane and evil of tribalism, religious and language differences. Politician, deceitful, and incompetent people with unhealthy ambition exploit this all the time and it works. Stop tribalism Stop ethnic bigotry Stop religious fanaticism Stop ! Stop !! Stop!!! |
Jackbaur88:It is quite tragic that Nigerians who live together and are closely knitted abroad and even in Nigeria can be torn apart by uneducated, uncivil, corrupt and mean politician with the ethnic flag. They are really smarter. They have perfected the art of control. Nigerians are really the pons and zombies. At any threat, discomfort to attaining their ambition they wag the ethnic, religious and language wand and all Nigerians fall for it. Haba. It works all the time. It's a pity. Great people just melted and fell for it. Look at the age long collaboration between the Igbos and Yorubas in Lagos. Perhaps they have more inter marriages than any group. Yet it happened in Lagos Same folks that have messed up that country, literally obliterated the country and made it's people desolate begers, still rules using the same play book. Haba. It shocks me. I had thought the obidient movement had national appeal and enthusiast for change. And I think it really did by what I read and watch on social media. Until the smarter politician unlocked the yet again magic wand at Lagos gobernitorial election and immediately I read about the ethnic dimension of the movement. Think guys. Think. How has this ethnicity, religion bigotry helped us. If you think your life has gotten better because you had person of your ethnicity or religion extraction in place of influence other than a credible and empathic person, click share. If not click like ?? What has your counsellor, LGA chairman, house rep, governor, national house rep or senator done for you and your people. Think guys. Think. |
Bobloco:Is this article about Soyinka or Ahmed?? Both are entitled to their opinions and convictions. I wonder how Soyinka's characteristic fearless and combative comments of the past especially during Jonathan and Buhari can be viewed today. He has also expressed an unusual view over the young Nigerian acclaimed female writer. The point is he is human. Everyone has person bias and sympathy. Really the reason why people should never worship any or see things in the word view, conviction and phylosophy of another. Soyinka comment about this election has been rather very mild and uneventful Really unlike him. He usually make headlines in events like this. Anyway it's tough to make unfavorable comment over the affairs of someone who has helped you at the time of immense need. BAT and his wife helped him during NADECO days when his house was vandalized and he was almost homeless. They gave him a hand he didn't expect. So it's expected and perfectly ok in his right |
1nice:This is a comedy of absurd. This man who has literally failed his people and state made this comment. Tribe, religion or language do not make good governance. This man is an example that his views and opinion don't work. He is Igbo, he is from Abia state, he is from Ngwa, yet he did nothing for them. Absolute nothing. If his comment was right, he would have been a great man for his people driving development to where he is from. Same with Buhari, he is from the noth, yet the place is the most devasted, uneducated and improvised region of the country. And power has come from the north more than any region of the country but with nothing to show. Ironically, the east that have not had control of power is the most developed in terms self and independent achievements. Visit the eastern region villages and towns Guys, forget about tribe, religion and language. A good man, a competent man is not defined by these. It comes from his heart. Out of the good devices of his mind comes good intensions, actions and growth. PERIOD. He can be christian, Moslem or have no religion, he can be ibo, Hausa or Yoruba. He can be rich or poor, old or young, male or female, educated or not educated, military or civilian, democratic or not....he reflects who they are on the people. Singapore, UAE, China, south Korea are recent examples THINK!!!! |
danvon:Ask Amaechi, Ask ODILI. They are as good as a tool..,...it's consistent, otherwise Rivers state, the state with greatest potential is still backward.......dorminant oil rich hub, two sea ports, human resources......nothing compared to it's potential, because it's governors and it's people only think about themselves just like Nigerians. A pity |
brutal1:The north, south, east or west can very well give their vote and continue to vote for religion and tribe which has characterized politics in this country. After all, the noth has had the most leader who controlled the power and resource of the country, determining who gets what and when yet the poorest and socially unstable region. why should this consistently happen when their owe people control the outcome What this has shown is that, it is not the tribe of a man that makes him good or better candidate, it is not his religion, not his wealth or any such thing, in the manner that most simple Nigerians think, rather it is the content of character of the man driven by justice, equity, good conscience and a desire to see his country become the best |
Dailyhappenings:He had a considerate conversation with Obi. That is not a campaign. Again, these guys have done nothing wrong. They have conviction and shared interest. Same way people who believe in same faith candidacy. I don't think it's good judgement for him to bluntly shut obi off, when he truly may have thought that obi represent a better alternative. Everyone that loves the country, thinks about an alternative to the wholesome mess that we have right now. Their passion to make a change that works, may sometimes drive them off the cliff of social and political correctness, but that doesn't make them wrong or victim as the media projects them. These gentlemen are being judged by the opposition and those they can convince to this line of thinking, forgetting that we all have the right to self belief, conviction and freedom to exploit all legitimate ways including convenient association required to realize that. Judging these gentlemen wrongly is in itself hypocrisy for all human do this at work, sport, family, business, religious or secular association, unless where the man has no true belief, ambition, aspiration or conviction. They all sought the good of the country in good conscience. There nothing wrong in rallying and appealing to your base, not for evil but for the good you seek. Everyone counts. Same way the guys who truly believe in the alternative candidate, passionately promote them |
How is it propaganda? So Gazette is now suddenly a Yoruba propaganda arm? Same Gazette that’s been writing nonsense about Tinubu all this while why you Obi supporters cheer them on? https://gazettengr.com/exclusive-peter-obi-in-last-minute-push-for-votes-begs-bishop-oyedepo-to-help-win-2023-religious-war/[/quote Chief, stop dividing people. The guys comments has no Yoruba in it. Why bring Yoruba in it. |
raskymonojendor:Everyone uses the best bullet that could kill the game for the competition. It's called appealing to your base. Nothing absolutely wrong in this conversation. Everyone has a conviction, Obi and Oyedepo has. And they are entitled to pursue their conviction by whatever legitimate way they choose, this conversation inclusive. There is nothing wrong in this. It doesn't in anyway diminish the gentlemen. Not in anyway. If this were broadened, you will eery or most politician. Imam, pastor, MD, CEO manager, SUG, sport, etc etc have in someway appealed to the base, conscience or sentiment they believe can give them an advantage to realizing their objective. I wonder who can say in all honesty that they have not The Muslim Muslim ticket by APC is a political calculation- knowing that the core Muslim north will not vote a Christian. That is the trend. It doesn't matter how good the other faith is. They won't. They need not to be instructed otherwise. It has been that way since Nigeria began to conduct elections Islamic cleric encourages their faithfuls to vote fellow Muslim. And that is not wrong. It's built on their conviction that their judgement is right and in line with their faith. Christian are more liberal and most times make independent decision or need higher level of persuasion. Please there is nothing in this conversation. It's only a thing for the simple mind. |
dre11:Who did NBC fine in 2015, when all manner of comments on Jonathan, were broadcast? Who?? Are we heading that path of controlled and gagged media? |
Jessyjeff:Called the weeping governor. Asking the federal govt to help his state. The infrastructure and industry he developed in the then imo state are what still exist in Abia and Imo state years after. These rascals especially Abia have done nothing.Rather they have killed everything |
raskymonojendor: |
id911:Well said. Why won't people have so mistrust, when inec made us put our hopes on deceit. Anything is possible. I hope this dose not turn out true. A few hours train ride or flight takes you to London or to Paris. Or have proxies do the meeting in London. In Nigeria, this can happen. I hope not. He came back yesterday from medical trip to London. |
helinues:Indeed, after reading some of the comments, I am convinced that Nigeria not the politician is the problem. They thoroughly deserve the kind of leaders they have. They makes excuses for them. They love their suffering. They should quit complaining and accept their kind |
