How come their counterparts in the anglican community or catholic dont live that kind of flamboyant lifestyle. Do these pasotrs have monopoly of godliness? Like i would lways say the early generation of churches did theirs with sincerity and not for money but what we have now is all businessmen.

I dont see such lifestyle with the church of england vicars nor does Dr Roman Williams live such a life. It is these same people that brought the faith to Nigeria and their life is still simple. There is no problem in a pastor having his own business nor but the issue is what Kunleoshob has raised (probably church money) and they should practise modesty.

As far as i know in Islam a muslim lady is not allowed to marry a non muslim. It is as simple as that and no scholar would tell you otherwise. I am in no way to judge people or assess their situations but that is just the islamic opinion on the issue. The issue of age i dont think is a condition for doing it as far as i know and i understand many people are in this situation. I have a very close relative who did the same and her arguement was age wasnt on her side.

Marriage i reckon should not be something one chooses a person due to fear of growing out of the marriage market likewise one should not be too picky as well.

Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has called on Islamic banks to take a leadership role in the global economy, amid the financial crisis.

He was speaking at the opening of the World Islamic Economic Forum in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta.

The forum has brought together political and business leaders from 38 countries to discuss the global economic slowdown.

They will also discuss ways to achieve energy and food security.

Mr Yudhoyono said it was time for Islamic banks to do some missionary work in the West.

Islamic financial institutions, he said, had not been hit as hard as their western counterparts because they did not invest in toxic assets.

Banks run in accordance with Muslims laws on interest payments and the sharing of credit risks are seen by many as fairer than traditional banks, less focused on profit and kinder to the communities they work in.

Demand for Islamic financial products has been growing in the Muslim world for years but Mr Yudhoyono said that many in the West were now ready to learn from them.

Islamic law prohibits the payment and collection of interest, which is seen as a form of gambling.

Transactions must be backed by real assets, and because risk is shared between the bank and the depositor, there is added incentive for the institutions to ensure deals are sound.

the other thing someone offends you and you forgive the person it still doesnt mean u approve of the persons deeds. God encourages the overlooking of faults and we also seek his forgiveness and when he forgives us it doesnt mean he approves our sin although expiation of sins is another subject on its own.

Generally forgiveness does not connote approval but we have to look at which context we are talking about.

Some scholars have allowed music with sensible lyrics
Some have allowed music with restriction on the type of musical iinstruments allowed with the hand drum allowed.
Some have not allowed any instruments.

I have cleared the air in my earlier post about the ambiguity of the jews as a tribe or the jews as followers of a faith. In todays lexicological terms the term jews refer to the followers of judaism and we have to accept this reality. We do not need to go to the bible to start to prove who is a jew because majority of the jews in the world today would not be termed jew according to this. The caucasian jews of europe are not from Judah simple!!

From no2atheisms post he has stated the jews (followers of judaism) have no place in the hereafter since they dont believe jesus as the only begotten son of God and so their "original " sin cannot be forgiven.

You are shooting yourself in the foot with this arguement of yours as it is exactly what i stated. The jews (believers in judaism and followers of their last prophet Moses) do not believe in the christian God and the christian concept of God. Simple question to you,

do the jews believe in the concept of trinity?
Do the jews beleive in Jesus even as a mere prophet?
Do the jews believe in Jesus as a Son of God
Do the jews believe in Jesus as God.

A simp,e yes or no answer to these question would summarise the arguement and save us a hell of time moving round circles.

American,chinese example cannot come into place here because we are talking about followers of a faith not people united by tribe or country. A person of jewish tribe that believes in christ is now a jewish christian and no longer a follower of judaism, an example of this is Vununu the whistle blower.
