Putting all the contestants on probation was the judges' only choice, if you consider it well. If you were part of the judges, which 5 will you put on probation? They all have their best; it was a tough one. |
My favourite performances of the night were Chike's and Jeff's. Chile was uber clear in his singing...and oh, my Jeff, it was beautiful. Which was your favourite performance of the night? |
What most people have not come to realise is that music is an art. It is subjective. The classic adage of "one man's food is another man's poison" applies so well to music and its family. So, don't assume that because you like someone's performance, every other person should. If I were to choose the worst performances of last week, I would choose Dehinde, Pearl, Kumi, Biqo and Anderson's. But hey, I am not one of the judges. If you want to see your favourite contestants, vote and vote the more. |

Bia OP, if you don't understand the meaning of a word, just stick to what you know. Do you know the meaning of 'stuns' ? |
I thought I was the only one that felt the "overcuteness" . |
Seun Osewa, I strongly recommend that you introduce a "dislike" button. Some posters on NL just need some barracks flogging . |
I am so excited for the first time in the world to me and my mom is so much for the first time in the world to me and my mom is so much for the first time in the world to me. I think I understand the game now. |
Am I the only one who doesn't understand all these ? |
This thing is no longer funny oo. My school has refused to put on the central generator, even at nights . |
Wasn't he supposed to be at OAU ?? |
holatin:You call about 3% of the total graduating students making first class cheap |
If a central bank prints more currency indiscriminately, there would be problems. The main problem is inflation. Inflation is when the amount of money in the economy increases without a corresponding increase in the production of goods and services. So, much money are now chasing few goods. Prices of goods rise because more goods are needed than are available. This means you need more money to buy the same quantity of goods. Imagine buying bread for N100 in the morning and it costing N200 by evening. Also, your goods become more expensive for foreigners to purchase; although, you can buy goods from foreigners cheaply. That is quite bad because you won't be able to get enough income from abroad while the foreigners use you as their income source. This reduces the country's external stock of money, as money is going out without replenishment. You get my drift, right? Furthermore, when there's too much money, people are less likely to save because the value of money has dropped; meaning that the money that they save today worth less tomorrow. Nobody wants to save money that would be useless tomorrow. Investment is savings-driven. So, less savings equal less investment. Less investment leads to low growth in real output, which leads to low development in the country. These are some examples. You can google up to get more information if you aren't yet convinced. |
**thinking aloud**...how did this thread manage to grace the frontpage? It lacks sufficient information. I don't normally do this but errm, there's always a first time, right? OP, how much did you pay the supermods?. |
I have a way of expressing my anger and hurt; though I can't remember when I started using it. Whenever I feel deeply hurt or angry at someone, I first go to a solitary place armed with a sheet of paper and biro. Most times, crying only doesn't give me the kind of comfort I want. With my paper and biro, I scribble down everything that happened from inception to finish that led to the hurt/anger. I use emoticons in between if I feel they convey what I feel. I tell you before I finish writing, I feel something being lifted off me. When I finish writing, I shred the paper. Try it and thank me later. PS: This method is highly sensitive. If you're the one at fault, it might not work. If you are trying to be angry at someone who did not do you wrong, it might also not work. |

Are you for real? What's your source? |
Hi. I've been good. I wrote PE1. Passed IT and FA. Failed MA and AAA. I'm yet to see anyone I know personally who passed all. Have you? |
At last, mamacita. This is one of the very few stories I followed from the beginning on NL. From your blog to Nairaland since May (or is it April?), it's been one eventful journey. *smiles* I thoroughly enjoyed your story. Well done. It felt good reading a story with very minimal errors. I appreciate. God bless you, mon poppy chocolat. xo. |
E be like say una never see tin wey don annoy you wella. Just imagine being on a bus, having a headache and you want to quickly get to your destination (which you're still far from) when a co-passenger's (let's say D) phone rings. It is already annoying that the phone's ringtone is very loud and irritating (like "chinko" phones). It becomes super annoying when D puts his phone on loud speaker; and you begin to hear "phone waves" (if there's anything like that)...but guess what?...that's not all. It now becomes MEGA ANNOYING when "Yaba left" D starts screaming/shouting/yelling into the phone. For goodness sake, must one scream on the phone to pass one's message across?? It has happened to me on some occasions and I can assure you it's one heck of annoying rubbish. If it was English now, it may have been tolerable but most times, it's native languages. Please, people that do it (no matter your frigging level of annoyance) should learn to have "compassion" on their neighbours. |
peterphd: How do you know homosexuality can be "cured"?you don't expect people to believe it can be cured just because you say so. You're saying G-factor like the story is a Christian story. Religion has never been mentioned and the characters bear names typical of Muslims. Why didn't he encounter Muhammed to "cure" him?Zainab and Taofeek are the only Muslims I can see; others are "Christians" by name. It's only natural that God saves John. Wouldn't it be awkward if Chistar said Allah saved JOHN? C'mon. I know homosexuality can be cured because I believe in the efficacy of prayers. Books of great philisophers can't cure it. Please, don't quote me. I don't want to derail this thread by turning it to a typical religion section thread. Thanks. |
In my opinion, Chistar is right in bringing the "G-factor"; although it looks rushed. Homosexuality can ONLY be cured by SPIRITUAL means, whether you (his fans) concur or not. |
@ OP, I usually have a teeny little problem with people that use incorrect tenses. What's "...people tells..." as used in your topic?? Pls, the correct verb should be "tell" as "people" is plural. Ese. |
Why do I have this sick feeling that Henry has a hand in this kidnapping, for the sole purpose of impressing Zainab? |
@ underage, thanks much, I appreciate. @ Maximus, you didn't check the tickets well. There was "inductee" written on one and "guest" written on the other two. Anyways, it has passed sha. The conference was cool, though I didn't pay maximum attention. I went to collect my exam cert but mine wasn't available. I have to go to Ebute Metta, so annoying. I was with my peeps, I don't regret going. ![]() |
Pls mods, close this thread for me. I mistakenly posted the topic twice. https://www.nairaland.com/1560550/how-aat-induction Thanks. |
Yesterday was the orientation day; today was the main induction. A little above 800 of us were inducted into Association of Accounting Technicians West Africa (AATWA) making us AATs. The highlight of the event, in my opinion, was the keynote address of the guest speaker, Hon. Dr. Catherine Ginikanwa. The topic was "Is it now time to go back to the land?". I don't want to bore you with details. The programme was very much organised and I can confidently say it was a successful outing . Now, I have a title attached to the back of my name, isn't it just cute ?How was the induction in general and what do you think they should have done better, in your opinions? |
