SKYQUEST:
If you really want this country to move forward, start by building strong institutions where stealing and corruption will be difficult to indulge in in the first place. You may arrest all the corrupt government officials, seize their assets and put them in jail; that will not solve our problem because shortly thereafter you will still need to do the same thing again. My recommendation is TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO STEAL AWAY FROM A THEIF AND THE SOCIETY WILL BE AT PEACE. We need good structures on ground to stop corruption! Currently Nigeria do not have that capacity.
You are putting the cart, before the horse!

Even in advanced countries like USA where there are very strong institutions, the major deterrence to crime is the PUNISHMENT!
Looters are always very inventive and device various means to circumvent the "structures" put in place but in those climes, they know that once you are caught, be you the President, the law will come down very heavily on you and you'll most likely serve a very long time in jail.

When people say that Nigerians go abroad and suddenly start obeying "rules" like not driving against traffic, l say its because they are very much aware that if they do, its a very short walk to JAIL and no one want to go to jail!

PUNISHMENT, VERY HEAVY PUNISHMENT is the ONLY DETERRENCE AGAINST CRIME

Structures take time and can kick in in tandem with the punishments.

I really think and believe Tinubu has nothing to do with it hence his obvious anger at the whole thing. I think orobo is solely behind all this.

Tinubu is a smart man and I don't see him doing this to the most trusted and widely asceptable member of his own party, I don't see him dividing his own party and what he built because of some silly noise about borehole. Fashola award contracts worth billions from from Ikoyi link bridge which is still the best bridge in Nigeria and the whole of west africa, even the government of Nigeria can not match it to multi billion naira ten lane lagos badagry express and metro rail.

There's absolutely nothing in this for Tinubu to gain so it's absolutely not Tinubu..
You are smart!
All these hulabaloo is the handiwork of those who want to sow discord between the two, just to get at Tinubu.
The real culprit is "omo-Baba", who rode on Fashola's popularity to get into Alausa but whose performance is already "suspect" because we all knew that at 100days in office, Fashola was reeling-out tangible achievements and that never stopped for the first four years of his administration.

I just hope that even when we tried to "keep it in the family", we wont regret our action, just as we did when we did the same thing by voting Jonathan in 2011.

My worst nightmare was when Jimi Agbaje jumped-ship to PDP and started being "anti-Yoruba" in his utterances otherwise, 'omo-baba' would have been second choice, as far as l am personally concerned. But again, that is a fall-out of Jagaban's "selection policy"!
Fingers crossed for now sha, hoping 'omo-baba' will do a "whodinni" for us.

Your REPRESENTATIVE Legislators would always sell you out

May he rest in peace. To all those criticising the man for jumping onto the moving bus, what do you suggest he should have done? Let the driver continue with his nefarious activity of picking passengers in an inappropriate manner? Let's be objective na. A cop might not do that in the West, but the drivers around here are entirely different characters. From what I read, it's not the jumping that killed him, but the sudden stop.
Take his Registration Number and go to the "Auto-Reg" Database to collect his details.
Send officers to his house and arrest him (or the owner, who will produce him), then send him to jail for as many violations as he has committed.

But our Policemen are so desperate to catch Danfo Drivers "there and then" because of the "ROGER" that he wants to collect.
Danfo Drivers are so bold nowadays, they will tell you "nothing will happen, l will only settle the Policeman"! And it is true!

I will continue to say it, God is using President M. Buhari as a Blessing to this country at this moment.
Whether you like him or not, whether you are a Jonathan supporter or not, the bottom line remains that this country will get better and it will be to the betterment of all of us.

What is happening now (i see it as a case of thieves HANGING thieves) is very good for the citizens.
A situation where thieves are tackling each other, under the Government of Buhari, is a welcomed development.

The Police & security has failed us: They would take bribe and let-off criminals. the only criminals they are capable of prosecuting are petty-criminals like those who steal tomato or some valueless article but when it comes to big-time crooks, they just develop amnesia

The Judiciary has failed us: Even when those who loot us dry are brought before them, they will collect 10% of the loot and then giving them a nauseating sentence of say a "fine" of #100,000 for stealing/looting 5Billion Naira! shocked shocked

The House of Assembly/Legislators have failed us
: The are only good at passing laws that will increase their salary and allowances or something that is to their selfish benefit. Those Bills which will benefit this country are left to rot for years and years. Shame on them.

The Executive have failed us: from the days of Obasanjo to the days of Jonathan, the executive have aided and abetted corruption, more so in the last Govt of Jonathan where "Stealing was expunged from the definition of Corruption"!

But God heard the cries of Nigerians: He is using thieves on the LEFT, to tackle thieves on the RIGHT!
The Senate is made up of criminals and thieves.... and we rely on the EFCC to tackle them and bring them to book.
Fortunately, the EFFC is also populated with thieves and criminals..... thy recover loot and then appropriate it to themselves and their cronies!

While we all know that the Senate is not doing what they are doing with Larmode (investigating him and his predecessors, especially that crook called Farida Waziri!0 because they think it is right or it is in the interest of Nigeria, we Nigerians applaud it.

We know they are just trying to "buff-off" the searchlight of the EFCC on their corrupt practices by giving its leadership, "something to chew on and keep preoccupied"! undecided wink

But it is good for the country because at the end of the day, the THIEVES on the LEFT, will expose and prosecute the THIEVES on the RIGHT!
grin grin

That is what this country needs.

At the end of the day, l hope Buhari himself will muster the confidence to send "both thieves, from both sides", to jail for their criminal activities.
When Buhari himself is done, we will also beam the searchlight on him and if he is found wanting, he will also be jailed.

So, as far as the common man is concerned, its a Win-Win for us.
Am loving this.... like Mc Donalds.

A flaw is just an imperfection that happens unconsciously and uncontrollably, manifesting once in a while.... exp: Anger

To steal public funds and loot the treasury takes careful planning, deception and manipulation of so many facets of life.
It is CRIMINALITY.

"IF TRUE" ..........That Muri Okunola needs to be jailed ASAP!

Secondly, he diverted and stole some of the land, without the knowledge of his Governor

I can imagine who were the "Big Men" that prevailed that he be retained as of Youths Ministry? The Likes of Rev "Tinubu" Kukah of the infamous Peace Committee, right?

As for Fashola,l am really disappointed in him this time around, for soiling his image in this manner.

Appropriating public property for yourself and your cronies is not expected of him at this stage of his life.
Lagosians will wilfully let you have free plots of land, for your "meritorious service" to the State of Lagos in the last 8years but it must be done "above board".

*Whether Yorubas decide it is better to align with a Northern President or a clueless kleptomaniac like Jonathan, that is their problem and Ibos should just accept the result (they dont even have a choice anyway) and suck it up for the next eight years

*Awo is dead, he tried his best to serve his fatherland, courageously to the best of his knowledge (at least he did not runaway to Ivory coast with his tail between his leg dressed like a woman); even when it became a matter of "death or disgrace" from the military hands, he chose the honourable path like "a real man" will do!

Disciple of hate and propaganda, here are the members of Yoruba tribe that participated in the 1966 coup:
(See Ben Gbulie: ‘Nigeria’s Five Majors.’).

*Adewale Ademoyega is the most prominent Yoruba participant in the coup, there were other Yoruba officers who were involved at the dangerous execution stage of the coup. One of them is:

*Second Lieutenant Olafimihan, an officer serving under Madiebo in Kaduna. He was sent by the plotters to gauge his commander’s loyalty. (See Madiebo pp.17-18).

*Another is Lieutenant (some books refer to him as a Captain) Fola Oyewole. He, like Ademoyega, went on to fight for Biafra and wrote a book on his coup and wartime experiences. The book’s title is ‘Reluctant Rebel.’

*There is also Captain Ganiyu Adeleke who became an instructor in the Biafran Infantry School. For confirmation, see the list of coup plotters detained by Ironsi’s regime in Ademoyega pp.106-108, and this quote from Nowa Omoigui’s online account: ‘Mid-Western Invasion of 1967’: ‘Captain Ganiyu Adeleke, who had taken part in both the January 15 coup and the Mid-Western invasion before becoming an instructor in the Biafran School of Infantry was released at a later date after his co-plotters had been freed.’ Omoigui’s work is significant because, though he exhibits a high level of professionalism in his research, he has no sympathy for the January 15 coup. If his facts corroborate Ademoyega’s they are worthy of attention.

I don't know how I missed this message.
I did do some research with Abdulwastecx privately thru Whatsapp on using this option for my decking. But I am scared to go thru with it.
Abdulwastecx actually knows about the procedure on how to do it but he said although the whole thing will cost less than the normal decking but the clay is not easy to obtain. There will be less iron rods and cement/sands to be used with the clay so it cost less.
I also did some research on internet and understood how it's done and some heavy projects have used it and using successfully.
But I do not want to be the test person for it. Although I still have not done the decking and still considering my options.
I will invite Abdulwastecx to come and join this discussion and give us more lessons. He said cost savings of about 30-40% of cost to normal decking.

This is the procedures for Ribbed Slabs as analyzed by Abdulwastecx:

1. The formwork is put in place (decking wood).
2. The suffice wood is marked for the position of clay block and ribbed beam at interval, say 450mm center to center.
The clay block dimensions been 300 x 300 x 200mm
And ribbed slab been flanged with the following dimensions
Ribbed height = 250mm, width of flanged (bf) = 450mm
Web width (bw) = 150mm
3. The clay block are placed parallel to the direction of the ribbed slab and interlocked.
4. The reinforcement is then placed inside the ribbed beam
5. The concrete is poured from the top.
6. The concrete will not get to the bottom of the clay block but since the block is interlocked in-between the ribbed and the clay block no
problem and since the clay block doesn't contribute to concrete strength, it only help to reduce concrete volume and reinforcement
7. Later after striking of formwork the suffice (underneath of the block is render or plaster to cover the clay blocks).

Note: For further reading do a search for "Ribbed Slab" on Google.

Thanks Hajji M for the info.
I will do some reading-up on it.

I saw a Multi-Storey in V/I some two years back while driving-by and l could see the Clay pots as they used it on each deck!
I was just wondering how it is done!
I am sure the process has been perfected (Cappa and D'Alberto was the one doing the Building l saw) otherwise, they wont be using it.
But one has to be exactly sure of "How it is done" before attempting such.

I wont try it except l am absolutely sure of the process but l am sure as we have shown interest, those who are building right now might try it out once we all can master the process involved.

Thanks,
