Before ipob came, there were non like her, now that she is here there is non like her and after she may have fizzled out from the surface of this earth, there will never be any like her. Ipob is systematically and strategically laying down the agenda and Nigeria government must follow her. Go and ask aso rock, they are following the dictate of ipob. Keep consoling yourself.

No be by hijab dirty murdering lots. But Christians do not make the wearing of a hijab compulsory for their adherents, nah! In fact, what you are calling a 'hijab,' is actually known as a wimple or part of a nun's habit in Christendom, and it is worn only by Roman Catholic or Anglican nuns. The habit consists of a tunic, covered by a scapular and cowl, Finally, it is not Christians that told FALZ to pull down that video, was it?

Till today, I know several hardworking respectful girls, who are content with what they earn, and do not ask for a kobo from any guy. But when I ask my male friends why they do not want to date such girls, you would hear a litany of excuses. They will make claims like, "she is not my spec, we have little in common, she is not fine, she is boring" etc, and other such stewpid phrases. I even know girls who will use their last money to cook for guys regularly, or go the extra mile to take care of them, only to get dumped at the end of the day. But by the time you see the kind of babes such chaps end up dating, they are not one-tenth as nice, respectful, contented and understanding as the ones they had earlier ignored or dumped, after recycling those their silly excuses. Wave one slay mama or a fashionista in front of them, and watch the way they behave, like parrots that have lost their mental balance, when they go panting after such chics. One of my guys told me once, "Oh, that girl is just my friend, nothing else. There can't be anything serious between us." Okay, o. No vex. Na your enemy you go date before? |

freeze001: That was a categorical statement in his post, a direct assertion without equivocation. How is it then that u say he didn't mean that Nigeria has better supply? What other meaning can be attached to words written plain as day? Don't mind both of them. There is a saying that ' only the deep calls unto the deep.' In their own case, the 'stuvpid calleth unto the stuvpid.' Can't you see the same way both of them are trying to justify their gaffe? Eboski: Even the Nigeria match today I used generator to watched it, I created this thread because of what I observed in the stadium that isn't only Nigerians that used generator Incase of power failure. Nigerian will be great again. So because you saw a generator on the pitch, you are now trying to compare Nigeria's permanent romance with power failure, with Austria's power supply capability? What an abomination! The same Austria that has a documented history of stable uninterrupted electricity supply? Are you ok? Abeg swerve. Austria is one of the foremost producers of hydroelectric power in Europe. The most important power facilities are publicly owned; 50% of the shares of the large private producers are owned by provincial governments. According to Austrian Environment Minister Nikolaus Berlakovich, - Austria has a target of 34% renewable energy by 2020 and 100% self-sufficiency in energy by 2050. In Austria will be 100,000 new green jobs up to 2020, Berlakovich hoped in the European Wind Energy Event 2013 by EWEA.
In 2000, net electricity generation was 58.8 TWh, of which 28.5% came from fossil fuels, 68.6% from hydropower, none from nuclear energy, and the remainder from other sources. In the same year, consumption of electricity totaled 54.8 TWh. Total installed capacity at the beginning of 2001 was 14.2 million kW. In 2000 petroleum accounted for 39% of energy consumption, natural gas 20%, coal 10%, nuclear energy 0%, and hydroelectric power 31%. During the winter, when there is less flowing water for hydroelectric power, domestic electricity demands must be supplemented by imports from neighboring countries. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_in_Austria Do you know what TWh is? TW is Terawatt. It is a unit of measure, that is used to measure energy. The terawatt (TW) is equal to one trillion watts (10 12), while the megawatt (MW) is equal to one million (10 6) watts. Nigeria currently is producing about 7,000 MW, while Austria is producing almost 100 times more energy, than what Nigeria produces. As at today, Austria produces about 141TW. Going by the level of investment in our power sector and the clowns that have been managing it, it could take Nigeria another 50 years to generate half of the electricity supply, that Austria currently has at its' disposal. |

ODVanguard: If the state government really gets serious about this, a lot of buildings will be affected. A place like Admiralty way at Lekki Phase 1 might be affected as well because it wasn't originally planned to be a commercial area. No, the original master plan of Lekki Phase 1 had a section for residential buildings, and commercial areas. The commercial area or Central Business District (CBD) started from Tantalizers, (actually the Catholic Church axis) downwards to the 3rd roundabout & Itedo area. Sad to say, but the previous Lagos state administration destroyed the Lekki masterplan. There is now a Lekki-Ikoyi bridge there, which was not part of the original masterplan. There is also an Ascon fuel station opposite the base of the bridge, right on Admiralty Way, which is sited firmly within the residential part of the estate. Who approved the building of the station? Lagos state govt & DPR. Who issued the CofO? Lagos state govt. When residents protested against the siting of the fuel station there, and took the state govt to court, the courts ruled in favour of the state govt. In fact, it was on the basis of that decision, that the Tantaliser owners then decided to open up their own Forte Oil station in the CBD axis, of the estate. So who is fooling whom? Don't be surprised if most of the owners of those buildings on Admiralty Way, provide you with proof that their houses have conversion permits from residential to commercial, issued by Fashola's administration. The man just had a bone to pick with Lekki Phase 1 residents, that was why he dashed them 2 toll-gates to siphon money from their pockets daily, after ruining the master plan of the estate and calling it a 'mixed-use' area. Where, when and how did residential sections of Lekki Phase 1 which was expected to be built up as a low-density area with buildings not exceeding 2 storeys, suddenly become mixed-use?
From beginning to the end of Admiralty Way, almost every house is now a commercial outlet. There are over 4 banks at the beginning of the road - from GTB, to Zenith, Diamond Bank, Fidelity Bank, Stanbic and Wema bank which were all built within the residential axis of Admiralty Way. The other banks like UBA, Access Bank, Zenith II, FCMB and the old Stanbic branch are however located in the CBD axis. I know several people who moved out of Lekki Phase 1, due to the commercial madness that had taken over the estate. They relocated to VGC estate known for its orderliness and tranquility. No one can blame them. |

eljayson: From Knowledge shaming people with embarrassing street interviews to bitter album and movie reviews, many people have come to hate the press. And for good reason.
For a long time, thenetng has maintained a reputation of being a thorough, critical media house who do not pander to the whims and dictates of celebrities but speak the truth, keeping many in check. They did a good job.
Their interview with Nina however, calls for a reality check for them
A pattern of releasing damning news which leverages negative publicity for celebrities has however been established by many news outlets.
Little wonder many celebrities hate the press and select who to grant interviews. No one wants anyone to disrespect them.
Nina's interview which was published on thenet platform can be described as spiteful and disrespectful to her person. It was filled with information we did not need to know especially considering how Nina is just a young girl who is still finding her footing as a celebrity.
It is more important to be kind than to be right.
In a bid to get the most traffic and stand out from other blogs, many news outlets do not care about the feelings of celebrities and like cheap bitter trolls, chomp down on any opportunity to trend.
Instead of helping her make the best of her interview, doing without unnecessary info about her not having a car, her make up and obviously green team, thenetng felt the need to further troll the young girl by releasing the ugly details of their encounter.
Yes, she didnt have a car when she did the interview. Yes, you paid for her Taxify. Yes she is insecure about her looks.
So what? Was that why you invited her over? To shame her?
This is not the first time they have done this. For the sake of brevity, no need to highlight their other unkind interviews with other celebs.
No interview comes out perfect. A lot of flaws and goofs are hidden by good video editors and writers.
It will have been better to report Nina's answers to their questions rather than the other stuff which went down off camera.
Their report was not done to portray the best possible interview but to attract traffic, riding off the wave of controversy and negative reactions. It was wrong.
This is why many celebrities avoid certain media houses because like the ugly trolls they take advantage of their openness and spread demeaning news about them.
If we seek to live in a better world, such needs to stop. Knowledge shaming, bitter interviews and reviews need to stop. Trolling needs to stop.
It is all fun and games because no one is paying attention to the people getting hurt. Think before you report rubbish about people. If you cannot take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. This well-known adage should have been explained to Nina. It is not the job of the press to make you look good. Neither is it their job, to hide your deficiencies or flaws, and play up your strengths. That is the job of your PR team and your publicists. That is why some celebrities ask for a questionnaire upfront, in order to be able to vet questions they will be asked or to prepare an appropriate response, to the media. If there is anything going on in your life, that you do not want the press or the public to know about, then stop it. Don't bring it to the public domain. A lot of today's celebrities ride on the coat tails of the free publicity, they can get from the press or the media houses, when they want their image to trend, or when they desire to make it to the top. They will beg, plead and cajole everyone to get free publicity or extra mileage in the news, because they are trying to build their brand. But once they become known, then they turn the press into their enemies, and swat them away as if they are irritants. Who goes for an interview at a media house, and asks them to pick up the bills for their transport fare, when they are not a staff of the media house, or under a contract with them? The press doesn't owe you anything. Their job is to report the facts as they are, and not hide those facts in order to make you look good. You courted their attention Nina, now deal with it! You didn't pay for the interview so you cannot dictate what slant should be used in telling the story. So stop saying that good video editors and writers, would have hidden the unflattering parts of the report. If you do not have a car, then why are you ashamed that attention was drawn to that fact? You could have asked a friend to take you there for the interview, or you could have done the interview via Skype. |
Politics › Re: 'nigerian Army Was Soft On Biafrans During Civil War' - President Buhari by LaudableXX: 2:58pm On Jun 05, 2018 |
CSTR1003: It seems comprehension is your problem.
Or maybe you are mistaking federal forces for Yoruba forces.
Ojukwu was the regional governor of the eastern region. His biafra did not depend on federal government weapons and resources.
If he had come in conflict with a Yoruba regional government devoid of the Nigerian army cover, his victory would have been swift.
If ojukwu had come in conflict with a Yoruba resistance funded by Yoruba/western regional resources and brain, biafran victory would have swift.
Ojujwu lost in the South West because Nigeria along with her foreign and resources defeated him.
Any ethnic resistance to the biafra would have failed .It took the whole of Nigeria to stop biafra. Guy, there was nothing like regional Yoruba govt without federal forces, before the war. The Nigerian Armed Forces were under central control or command, right from independence. Go back into history, because almost everything you just wrote is a fallacy. If you remember, there was once a call for the armed forces to pull back from the old Western region before the war, as the army was heavily dominated by soldiers of northern origin. That call was not heeded. Ojukwu declared secession, then converted the existing Nigerian Army equipment, armoury and forces to the Biafran forces. Tons of people of SE origin also went back to the East, to join the Biafran Army. Other young people in the SE region were also conscripted into their ranks. Ojukwu also tried to buy additional arms from foreign countries like France etc, and sent different emissaries to do so on its behalf. So where did you get this idea about the Biafran armed forces, having the capacity to defeat the rest of Nigeria? |

CSTR1003: The FG had stockpiled arms in Lagos and not the western government. The western government if left alone would have been overrun, which was why I said no single ethnic in Nigeria can defeat the igbos without the Nigerian military cover.
Biafran forces were sweeping their way west, they conquered the mid west, conquering ondo only to be met with opposition by the Nigerian army at ore.
Yes, the federal forces were more kitted since they were funded by Nigeria which was why I said the only force that could have stopped the biafran onslaught were federal forces, not because they are smarter, but due to the difference in available resource and manpower.
Any other ethnic alignment in the south or middle belt would have fallen like a pack of cards before biafra. What is the distance between Lagos, Ibadan and other parts of the Southwest? The distance is much shorter than you think. So what makes you think the federal forces would not have easily taken up positions within the different parts of the Southwest to stop the advance of the Biafran soldiers? After all, they had superior ammunition, better equipped manpower and good logistics, under their control. Secondly, the Biafran forces did not conquer the old Midwest. There was internal collusion between Midwest soldiers of Igbo origin serving within the region, and the Biafran soldiers coming in from the SE. So this collusion, ensured that old Midwest fell into their hands. Not only that, Ojukwu had agreed with Ejoor, that the old Midwest would be neutral. So there was no army battalion stationed there, and zero federal fighting forces. So how much armed opposition, did the Biafran soldiers face in the old Midwest? Nil. Thirdly, your ideology that "Any other ethnic alignment in the south or middle belt would have fallen like a pack of cards before biafra," has no basis in reality. You just admitted that "the federal forces were more kitted since they were funded by Nigeria which was why I said the only force that could have stopped the biafran onslaught were federal forces.... due to the difference in available resource and manpower." So that means, the Biafran forces would have been soundly defeated by the federal forces in any armed expedition to the Southwest. Can you see how you just contradicted yourself? |

They need to interact with state govts nationwide, mass transit companies and the public, to push the products aggressively into the market. In a place like Nigeria, Innoson should have sales agents in every senatorial district or state capital, as well as offer after-sales support, with ease in every locality. |

CSTR1003: You are more prepared? I hope you are talking about your ethnic group against the igbo nation instead of hiding behind Nigeria.
Head to head against any single ethnic group in Nigeria, the igbos win 9 times out of ten.
They took over the midwest in a day, onroute to the south -west which would have fallen too, but for Nigerian army coupled with a betrayal from a biafran soldier. Which Southwest would have fallen? Are you aware that the federal govt in Lagos, had stockpiled arms in different parts of the North & Southwest at that time, which were superior to the arms being used by the Biafran army? In fact, it is on record that the Biafran battalion that was en-route to Lagos was badly kitted, without adequate weaponry. They were also helplessly outmanned and outgunned by the federal forces. |
