Sagamu local govt since Amosun days has never constructed a single gutter, so useless to the extent that they can't even grade the road that leads to their office. All Street roads in Sagamu are in very bad shape. No single street road has ever been touched for repair since 2011. All their fund is trapped at Oke Mosan by the state. Even the councillors and chairmen are like house boy, they can't execute any project. Highly pathetic. You are talking about local govts? What about healthcare centres and hospitals? Go to Otta and see what they call their state hospital. You will shed tears for the residents of that area. Even Covenant University's medical centre is 5 times better than that Ogun state-owned hospital, in Otta. Meanwhile, Otta is supposed to be the closest neighbour to Lagos state, o! I know many residents of Otta that go all the way to Ikeja in Lagos, to seek healthcare whenever they fall ill. They will never entrust their health to the half-baked govt hospitals, in that area.... |

OyindaHives: Looks like popular Nollywood actress, Beverly Naya has finally found love.
So if you’ve been crushing on Beverly forever without shooting your shot, sorry, you’re late. According to the news making the rounds, it appears our Nollywood darling has found love and is set to tie the knot with the man of her dreams.
Our inside scoop has confirmed that Adeolu Adefarasin, nephew of the House on The Rock Pastor Paul Adefarasin, is the lucky man.
Adeolu Adefarasin, himself an actor, is quickly forging his own path in Nollywood and he appears to be madly in love with Beverly judging from this photo the pair took at the beach on Valentine’s day. While it’s not impossible that the photo is a behind-the-screen photo on the set of “The Eve,” a new movie they both starred in, which is also set to hit the cinemas March 29th, we can’t deny that they certainly look good together.
So dear Beverly and Adeolu, should we expect another #baad or nah? We’ll just keep our fingers crossed. Chimo! Who bewitched this boy, biko nu? That person will not make heaven. Why do good boys get married to bad girls? And why do these bad chics find it so easy to sniff out the good guys, and get hitched to them?? |

We need to commend them for such a noble idea and continue to pray for them to actualize it. If they do, expect greater synergy and progress in the region. There will be healthy competition and ultimately progress. Stop consoling yourself. All these SE governors that cannot come together to build an ordinary market, is it now a ring road they would build and complete? Under their noses, the old Niger bridge which spans a length of just 1.4 kilometres, has been creaking and groaning of old age, but the SE governors cannot come together to build another one at Onitsha, while waiting for FG to fulfil its promise on the 2nd Niger bridge. Meanwhile, ordinary Fashola single-handedly built Lekki-Ikoyi bridge within Lagos, when he was still governor, in how many months? |

chuksjuve: *LAND USE CHARGE: AMBODE SHOULD GO BACK TO SCHOOL*
I have watched Governor Ambode’s video where he made a failed attempt to defend the obnoxious land use charge.
To start with, Governor Ambode does not know mathematics and does not understand economics. And he claims to be a chartered accountant.
The growth in Land Use Charge from N50,000 to N250,000 is 400% increase. Current Inflation rate is 15%. How can you increase a charge by 27 times the current inflation rate?
An increase of 400% overnight is called financial shock. When financial shock to people’s income is higher than inflation rate, people are effectively impoverished.
If the government wants to go from N50,000 to N250,000, it must be *graduated* over the 15 year period for which the rate should have been reviewed as shown below: Year-0 (2017-last year): N50,000 Y1-2018: N63,333 Y2-2019: N76,666 Y3-2020: N89,999 Y4-2021: N103,333 Y5-2022: N116,667... ... Y10-2027: N183,333 ... Y15-2032: N250,000... ... Y16-2033: N250,000 Y17-2018: N250,000 ...
If this 400% land use charge is enforced, all landlords and commercial property owners will increase their rents/fees thereby further impoverishing the people. 1. A landlord will increase his rent, 2. The event centre operator will increase his hall rental fee for a conference/symposium/wedding/birthday 3. Owners of shopping complexes will increase the rents of the shops they have let out 4. Commercial property owners will increase rents on lease office spaces 5. Business/shop owners paying a higher rent on leased office spaces will pass on the higher rent to their customers by increasing the prices of their goods and services.
This is how inflation worsens and people are systematically impoverished to fund Tinubu’s money-hungry pocket.
We must bear in mind that Ambode has already increased BRT/LAGBUS fare, Toll tariff, water rates, vehicle licence, introduced Radio tax, vehicle registration, road worthiness etc. Now Land Use Charge!
This is the same governor whose government created and legislated monopolies —Alpha Beta (revenue collection), Visionscape (waste management).
Where in the world does government create and legislate monopoly in a free-market economy?
Ambode must go back to school to re-learn economics
Are people made for the government or government is made for the people?
Must people be taxed to death because we want to feed Tinubu’s Alpha Beta?

And most of those Yorubas from other states, who have lived in Lagos for a whole generation or more, are even considered as "Omo Eko," too! Those Yoruba people do not discriminate as such among themselves, like those from different SE states, do. |

OBAGADAFFI: The Landlords will simply transfer the LUC on their tenants.
Most Lagos landlords aren't from Lagos, that why Oniru and Onikoyi families are fighting to get their land back.
Let's face reality this is a big mess. Who told you Oniru and Onikoyi are fighting to get their land back? Which one? The ones they and their ancestors sold a long time ago, to different individuals? Many land-owning families are wiser now. They are more careful about selling what is left of their vast acreages. These days, they establish joint ventures and estates, in partnerships with developers and conglomerates. That is what the Elegushi family is currently doing in Ikate, and other parts of Lekki. Even Oba Oniru did the same thing in Oniru Chieftaincy Estate, Victoria Island. Their family set up the Oniru Chieftaincy Family Property Company Limited, which supervises their various plots within Oniru Private Estate, in V/I. https://guardian.ng/wp-content/themes/guardian2016/img/guardian_logo.png
Elegushi Imperial smart city’s $300 million project broaches new housing deal in Lagos | By Chinedum Uwaegbulam |14 November 2016 |
A comprehensive new plan unveiled last week to reverse the growing decline in the nation’s housing stock in the Lagos area, is promising an ambitious new deal for a fresh town project within the Lekki -Epe corridor. The scope of the scheme is massive and breathtaking, as it anticipates to utilise 200 hectares of sand filled land for a site and services scheme. Other major details are still sketchy, but the promoters disclosed that construction works would start in the second quarter of next year with land reclamation.
Dubbed as the first eco-friendly smart business city in Africa, the project known as Imperial International Business City (IIBC) is promoted through a joint-venture between the Elegushi Royal Family and a private developer, Channeldrill Resources Limited.
The proposed scheme could be accessed through three locations: Freedom road through Lekki Phase 1 (Lekki Third Roundabout); Kunsenla Road by fourth Roundabout of Lekki-Epe Highway, and Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi Road by spare supermarket before Jakande. Another access road is being planned through Femi Okunu by Jakande roundabout.
Specifically, IIBC will be bankrolled through British Foreign Direct Investment of about $300 Million and off plan sales. The city will be zoned into residential, mixed used and commercial areas. Each zone will have low, medium and high density area as well as lagoon/water view area. https://guardian.ng/property/elegushi-imperial-smart-citys-300-million-project-broaches-new-housing-deal-in-lagos/ |

three: Sadly its the actual indigenous Lagosians (and some South Westerners) I pity.
By the time the immigrants from Ondo and Osun finish with them they may begin to understand that they are the trees in the quote below who thought the handle of the axe was one of them.
In the last elections many who were not bothered about voting suddenly jumped up 'slapped their buttocks' and ran to the polling booth because they heard that one 'foreign' tribe was supporting one candidate.
"The forest was shrinking, but the trees kept voting for the axe because its handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them. - Anonymous"
By the time they do you what they did to the aboriginal Indians in America, collect your ancestral land in downtown Lagos and share plots in compensation in Badagry, maybe that time una eye go clear.

It's normal as I had other age mates as friends on campus. Oga, did you attend Unilag? Did you attend a public university or a private one? Many private universities may not have age limits, because they are looking for as much money as they can get from candidates/applicants, but public universities like Unilag, do have age limits!! When I was admitted into 100 level in Unilag, I had two close friends that were turned down at the admissions screening point, because they had not clocked 16! If age doesn't matter, why do Unilag authorities ask for your birth certificate or sworn declaration of age to be uploaded, when carrying out the registration process online? Omadora: Pure lies from the pit of hell. Just checked his biography and he is 28 years of age and graduated at the age of 22. You don't mean it? Wonders will never end.... |

UjSizzle: Secondary school. Graduated from university at 18. I don't think schools are very interested in what age you gain admission these days. If you have good grades and can afford the fees... Public universities are still quite interested in what age you get in, unlike private universities. It is used as a screening method to reduce the huge number of applicants. First there is more pressure on them to admit students, because a much larger pool of candidates apply to public universities than private ones, due to their lower fees. Secondly, psychologically, the younger students have more difficulty in adapting to a public university environment, where a lot of freedom and a lot of laissez faire attitudes, hold sway. The immature students get easily swayed and distracted, by such things, unlike in the private universities which have a far more controlled environment. I hear a few of those private unis, even have to grant students an exeat/pass in order to leave campus. |
