Unlike in Nigeria where asset declarations are done clandestinely and outside the reach of the people. If you want to fight corruption, it must start from open asset declarations like that of the late President Yaradua. The net worth of everyone should be published in the public domain. That will be the right beginning of any fight against corruption in all nations. A public figure should have nothing to hide from the public.

Moghalu, Sowore, Durotoye. I think all three men are capable of doing a much better job as president of Nigeria than Buhari or Atiku.
But I have to face reality, neither if these 3 men has any chance of being President of Nigeria for at least 30 years.
The reason is Northern Nigeria. For a per ml kson to become President of Nigeria, they must win some states in the North. Even if one wins all the states in the South, but none in the North, that person would not have scored the two thirds majority of states required by the constitution
The most important thing to the North is keeping political control of Nigeria, either by themselves or by proxy.
So no matter how well intentioned Moghalu, Durotoye or Sowore are, just the fact that they are Southerners has disqualified them in the eyes of the North
After 8 years of power being in the North, it rotates back to the South and the North will again pick a Southerner who best represents their interests, just like they did with Obasunjo.
Of course, young progressives like Moghalu, Durotoye and Sowore will never agree to represent Northern interests, rather, they would pursue national interests, which is why they won't ever get Northern support. It will take 30 years of generational shift before the North starts thinking that national interests is above sectional interests and that's only when Moghalu, Durotoye or Sowore will have a chance

There is no way you can stop corruption in a country where 80 percent of government revenue is crude oil money. The corruption will just keep getting worse because money is only as good as where you got it from. If the majority of government revenue were taxes, then the government will automatically sit right because if you are getting your money from the economy, then you will put infrastructure in place because that is the only means of guaranteeing more taxes or revenue.

It is high time the United Nations stepped in and made all nations comply for the betterment of our globe.
