Akuruoulo:Bro are just realising she is a tribalist? It should be clear from a lot of her write up here although I'll give it to her that she can be subtle about it most times and post intelligent comments when it's not a fighting topic, but I always find it laughable that she is everything she condemns others to be. She will attack completely random individuals on the internet, accuse them of tribalism ( of course she assumes the tribe of her target from the kind of post they make) and go right spewing tribalistic counters at the same time. She does the same for misogynistic comments as well, a group of stupid dudes on the forum here will make misogynistic remarks and in a bid to call them out she makes misandrist comments in return. Hahahhaa. That moniker is a classic.....whenever I read a comment from that moniker I just mutter, "cognitive dissonance is strong with this one" |
nencounter10:You just summed it up, the funny part of the whole thing is you see the ones with cognitive dissonance claiming they aren't tribalist yet the next line they type after the statement stinks of it. I just read and laugh at the stupidity here most of the time. |
CodeTemplar:oh boy ignore these noise makers on this forum, a lot of them causing all this trouble making tribalism a core of this forums aren't from the tribes they claim to be, all nah just to draw traffic come here. I typically just laugh at thier comments! Anyone can claim to be anything in a faceless forum! |
Romanoff:Doesn't always work that way, going by Gods will or whatever isn't fool proof. After all eve was made for Adam by God according to Gods own will, the same eve that was gods gift to adam brought the curse and made him fall from grace and ultimately banished from the garden. If Eve was god's perfect will according to you I think that folktale in genesis should have gone down differently. In conclusion it doesn't matter what source the partner comes from or is gotten from, if they decide to become a thorn in your flesh at any point in time the will of whoever gave them to you is irrelevant. Marriage nah luck jare, if your game enter you chop, if e miss road......you know the rest! |
Beancounter94:True if he had followed the agreement the Taliban would have been seen as the enemy at least by a larger majority, terrorist and going back on agreements go hand in hand. By breaking the deal the narrative is that America is the problem, of course they partly are.... See the weapons left behind, the vehicles tanks, APCS, drones and military hardware, it's like he just planned to arm these Taliban guys. Afghanistan is a corrupt corrupt country just a tad higher than what we have in naija. The Afghan military was just a money siphon seive. They are as useless as the military we have here if not worse! |
kponkedenge:Remember the Taliban were propped up by the US during the Soviet resistance in those region. Trump had every incentive to release them back to thier enclave and to allow them allow the setup government a bit of space. I was very much intune with the agreement and the deal was signed by all 3, not just the Taliban. The problem isn't if biden followed through with the withdrawal it's how's it's done. Imagine leaving billions of dollar worth military hardware and weapons including predator drones. How does one get that sloppy or are they trying to intentionally hand over weapons to the Taliban. Terrorist are released all the time in negotiations, it cost tax payers to keep them locked up and fed, you can't keep them indefinitely. I'm quite neutral on Biden and trump, I'm more strict on Biden cuz he's been in government for over 47 years and still make the mistakes of an amateur which trump was. Biden should have known better. Biden, mind you was never in support of a withdrawal from the onset, if trump had not signed the withdrawal deal I bet you Biden wouldn't even talk about pulling out till his tenure is over. He should have kept to every detail and date of the withdrawal, at least to save face. Now the Taliban claims it was the Americans that broke the deal. We know it's hogwash but that's the optics they want to use. Biden gave them that leverage and loo how messy it is now. All I'm saying is that it would ha e gone a while lot better than it is now. |
Romanoff:You dey talk like say marriage is a safe haven, I know women who use it within the confines of marriage and turn them husband's to vegetables. Then start steamrolling all the young boys for area....lolz |
kponkedenge:Bro you're using half truths here. Trump made a deal that was signed by all three of them, the US govt, Afghan govt and the Taliban to pull out by may this year, which also included the realease of the prisoners. The deal was in the works way before the elections so don't claim it was done cause he lost. The middle East was relatively at peace during Trump's regime. You might not like the guy but it's fact that he had that region under control. Now understand that it isn't the pulling out that is causing the drama per say but how it was done. The Taliban one way or another was always gonna seek to return to power after the US left. Biden came in and broke the deal signed by trump by shifting the withdrawal date from the signed dates. Get the optics happening here, the moment Biden shifted the date from the signed and agreed date the Taliban went into propaganda mode. Biden handed them an excuse. The Taliban had the ammunition and reason to delegitimize the Afghan government as being a puppet regime and the US a tyrant for shifting the date. In effect Biden broke the deal signed. All he would have done was kept to the original date as signed and agreed upon, then properly deploy logistics for the withdrawal. My opinion is that Biden deliberately broke the deal by shifting the date, knowing exactly this is what the outcome would be. If they had withdrawn with the original agreement and it didn't devolve into chaos, he would have given trump an ego boost, trust the former president to revel in such matter. Biden simply didn't want any credit to be alluded to Trump. Bidens pull out game was horrible (lol), weapons abandoned which the Taliban will use to cause great destruction you can bet, American citizens stuck in the country. The guy messed up the withdrawal. |
Guardiola84:You're absolutely correct, they had to let the sexual allegations stick and be the noose to tie him up. If they let the media cover the whole nursing home/ covid 19 deaths and Investigate the matter, a host of democrat governors will go down with him for the same crime and cover up. They don't want that, so it's easier to make him resign on this issue than let the nursing home affect the 2022 mid term elections and subsequently 2024. You really are observant! |

IPIGSRMUMUS:Are you ignorant of history, it was done before, the so called ipigs as you love to call them left enmass and declared thier republic. Your ilks and supporters in Nigeria literally fought a war to drag them back into the union. None of them are stupid to repeat the same tactic twice. This time around the ball falls in your court. Declare your own exit from the union then you can demand for anyone to leave your region. Till then you're the noise maker and will share your region with them whether you like it or not! All you can do is make noise here, you won't do shit.......sorry correction......you can't do shit! |

The same Owerri I'm currently at or another one? World bank and new axis is bubbling with life.... Night clubs and bars all filled with daughters of eve advertising thier private goods. Where do these folks get thier stories from bikonu? |
Is it that these feminist and some folks are lost on Pete's statement and message or what? Because I don't understand..... Modern women want men to be traditional men but refuse to be traditional women and that's what leads to majority of the marital brouhaha we have 9n a culture such as ours , that's the conclusion of his point from my own perspective. Regarding abuse there are as much abusers on the women side as there are on the men's. It's not just so obvious cause men are largely physically stronger then women. Take a cue from the experience on how women treat people they perceive as Lower in social status, how they physically abuse maids and househelps they are physically stronger than. Most guys here who are in relationships can relate, men who have never raised hands to ever harm a women have experienced a gf or wife hit them first during an argument or tense situation. No one bats an eyelid cuz society expects men to be.....well men! Females have always avoided responsibility from time immemorial, zero accountability for thier actions. Feminism doesn't want an equal playing field, they want special status. They do not want equality of opportunities but equality of outcomes. When competition becomes the order of the day men in general are always more driven, focused and will make the required sacrifice without hesitation. That's the general rule, exceptions always exist and those are the small number of women make waves in male dominated fields l. |
Zanxx:It's an elaborate game nah, you should easily see through it! They know if you move out you will have rent to pay, and thus no money to contribute or pay for thier own rent. You remain they can demand for money from you claiming after all you're living in the house so what are spending money on. My dear move out for your sanity, start planning for your life. if you die today due to stress you'll be surprised how they will cater for themselves, you go dey spirit realm dey watch the thing like film. |
isthatso:I don't recall blaming buhari for anything in this conversation we're having or are you delusional? If your tribes men hated the unification so much they should have reversed it when they were in power, after all you called it an igbo invented decree.....you called it so, not me! Instead you want to play mental gymnastics on the matter. Now I can understand it's envy killing you. Name one evil igbo settlers have done to your community aside your vague and envy driven Mantra. I don't want to hear chest beating and bragging or causing trouble with thier host......those are not illegal. Name one trouble they cause? That they say Lagos is no man's land? Is that what makes you foam at the mouth? What exactly is this trouble they cause that equatable with murder and terrorism? I really want to know. If they say Lagos is no man's land you say okay onitsha is no man's land as well, those are simply words. But it seems they always gets your blood boiling. If it pains you so much that they chestbeat go and beat them. They don't kill your women and children, they buy or rent land they use which you sell at overpriced amounts, pay taxes and somehow they are evil as fulani who kill your women and kids just cuz they chestbeat? Are you okay at all? Well, All you can do is make noise. You can't do more than a "hanging rat" as far as Nigeria is concerned. Intertribal marriages will keep happening between both tribes till kingdom comes. I'm a product of both tribes and I'm happy a bigot like you is inconsequential in this matter People will migrate to wherever they choose, they will stay there and thrive. The best you will do is keep yapping and hating on the tribe, you can't do shit about it. So keep yapping bro! No body wants to partner..... bla bla! When you're done blabbing go outside and greet your igbo neighbors! They'll greet you in return! |
isthatso:Awww! ironsi was not the sole perpetrator of the unification that was done, he was the head but had a military council who all agreed on unification of which your tribes men were among! You can blame it all on the igbos as much you like. Your tribes men have been head of state and military heads as well after the unification decree, if they thought is was wrong they would have made a decree back to the original way of doing things. Or what the british left us. The igbos are bad as the Fulani cuz they travel out to do business, like there are none of your tribes men in other regions. Only your tribes men are angels, righteous and without flaws shebi? Mehn I'm already tired of even talking to you! You're no different from the igbo and yoruba tribal bigots on NL. You're all set In your ways and just get off on tribalistic issues. Good thing is that you can do nothing about any tribe staying anywhere in Nigeria they wish, the worse you can do is make noise on the internet with anonymous accounts. Enjoy your bile filled tribalist mentality. Hope you don't choke on it! |
isthatso:So chest beating, bragging and hypocrisy of the igbo are equal to the killing and sacking of communities by the fulani? You call a person who come to your place hustles for what to eat while living non violently as a conqueror? The mental gymnastics it takes for you to reach that conclusion is mind boggling. Nigeria says its one country, by virtue of that constitutional right any tribe has the right to live anywhere they choose and deem fit. Chest beating and bragging or hypocrisy aren't against the law. To even compare it with the fulani terrorism shows your hatred. No wonder the ibo bigots here also accuse you of the same thing you are accusing them of! The solution to your problem is actually simple. Support the dissolution of the country first....then when you control your own borders you can make laws to deny entry to any tribe you see fit. That's an easier method than the cognitive dissonance you so brazenly display in your write up. You want one Nigeria but you want some tribes to have limited rights in certain regions. Do the needful and you won't have to see any "chest beating hypocritical bragging terroristic conquering igbos" ever again in your region. Support the dissolution of the entity called Nigeria! |
thebosstrevor1:Yeah I kinda of agree with him.....the woman has a right to her body, since she has the right to decide if the baby lives or dies it's only fair if the father or impregnator should have the right to abandon or stay in the child's life as well........fair is fair! Let it's be across the board! |
drediamond:You put my whole opinions into words marvelously. Everyone assumes the Man Trump should be a saint, forgetting that this man is an average new yorker.....loud, proud and down right arrogant! His policies make sense despite all his short comings as a person which is what should matter. Too bad the media drummed up hatred for this man and made him almost seem like another hitler. He denounced racist groups on 8 different occasions on live television in unclear terms, yet they keep asking him to repeat everytime after he denounced them previously. Almost like they had an agenda to make him into one. His down fall was sure cuz he had no idea how powerful the enemy he was up against are, completely underestimating them at every turn. The moment the media went into overdrive on his bum the minute he was elected I knew he was done for. He should take his L in good faith and go rest Jare, let's how the new administration fares. Time will be the best judge in this matter. |
Tab4kids:Don't be shocked. People are divided on the matter, some blame the woman, some blamed the man calling him a simp, others are calling for the sack of the MD. The issue here in my opinion isn't about the infidelity, men and women cheat all the time. I've seen it numerous times to even take the stats into account. The wahala is the paternity fraud. Cheating isn't against the law but paternity fraud is (not too sure about this part though). Everybody is free to cheat but transferring of the consequence of the infidelity to your spouse wether male or female should be criminalized. |
Well she wants what she wants and that's nothing bad by itself but when you post such things on social media, you are simply inviting public opinion to be made about what you choose to make public. So it's not strange that different folks will give thier take on the matter. Extreme rich men barely make up to 5 percent of the population and that's without factoring for other indexes like age, marital status and sexual orientation. That will drive the number further down. When 50 percent of women all looking to score the top 10 percent of rich men the odds are very low. Let's see how far she gets, hopefully Ned is still in the market for a 7th wife. She can try that route. lol! Doesn't surprise me one bit though, Its the same women we've heard who go witch doctors for charms to bag a rich man instesd of simply doing the charms to get money themselves. |
The hate speech debate is an old long debate in democratic settings, but recently it seems to be gaining more attention in recent political climates. There are some who argue on one side that hate speech is part of free speech and there are existing laws to deal with that sort of speech already, more regulations aren't necessary. When you regulate speech you close down a debate before it's even begun. Anyone can shut you up/down before even hearing what you have to say if they dislike you or your opinions. In the realm of open debate and ideas, there's always the risk of sounding offensive but that shouldn't stop the debate, let the better idea win. Fake news, threatening speech and violent speech already have punishments by law, let them be enforced. Giving tech gaints and governments the power to regulate speech gives them the power to control the narrative. That's a recipe for disaster! |
Adakintroy:Brother say no more, Trump's crime was going up against the beaurocrats and political class he was never part of. They hated him for it, a political novice that has never held any political power beating a seasoned political juggernaut on his first try. Frankly I'll be surprised if Trump beats them a second time. They pulled out every trick in the book to make sure he was ousted, like you said he was simply the fall guy for the Corona pandemic. I listened to the guy spin lies on Trump paying 750 USD as tax, when even the media liars that carried the news subtly put at the end of thier article that he overpaid in previous years. The guy's taxes are legally clear as distilled water but you'll never hear that part of the story. The media went on over drive from day one against the guy. Nothing he did was good. I have more than 8 videos of the guy denouncing white supremacist groups and even the ones that are not, but they kept shouting he was, meanwhile biden who actually called a KKK recruiter as his mentor...not even a peep! I personally don't think America deserves Trump or his policies, let them fall for all I care. They do not value the freedoms they have after all. Let Trump go and enjoy his retirement and rest. If America wants to burn let it burn! |

Haba! This is flat out false, the computer repair man called the number the customer left behind several times and no one came for it. After checking the contents of the laptop he saw what was on the drive and called the FBI, the feds came and took the laptop but the guy was smart and made a copy of the drive. After almost a year of reporting to the feds nothing was done about the issue that's when he proceeded to call Rudy and turned over the copies to him. I don't know where you get your own news from but twisting the story isn't right! |
Emotionss:Seems you don't know Pocohontas on this forum, all these your plenty explanation enters one ear and goes out the other lolz! She's the strong feminist type and to them women can do no wrong, infact when they do wrong it's because of a man. She's just wired that way! About your brother matter, just pray for him. I don't think it's ordinary. I don't really believe issues like this are diabolical but I've seen some strange shit all through my life to rule it out. |
SocialJustice:You try but your calculations are incomplete. 1 barrel of crude oil not petrol or PMS you have to factor in the refining cost of splitting the crude oil into other derivative products. Next is the shipping cost to bring it back to the country, lastly the transportation cost to various locations within the country. Only then can you get an the actual landing cost, add a profit margin and then we can decide on selling price. |
Okuda:Don't accept the story when they spin it, the war was brought to igbo Land. They like spinning the story to make it look like Ojukwu and igbos started the war. The war was fought by Nigeria to keep igbos part of it. |
voltron14:it was the first and the last time, learnt the hard way how uselsss the are. So the nigerian police can go to hell and burn for all I care. Sherlock holmes? Who is he? |
voltron14:Sorry to bust your bubble, my loved ones have been kidnapped twice. The first case the police adviced us to go pay the ransom after collecting money for "investigation". The second time a member of the same police was involved. You don't want to know how much our family has lost to these vampires. Look at almost everyone celebrating the death of police officers, that should tell you something. Did you not read on this same forum how they arrested and tortured a mechanic to death? Widowed his young wife and left his old dependent father with no means of survival? The Nigerian police men deserve fates far worse than death. |
Over the last two weeks, I have tried to account for the mass exodus of the Nigerian middle class. I argued that military rule combined with poor economic management have been the main factors causing the exodus of the middle class. But I also argued last week that the middle class, as a unit, is not just a victim, but an enabler of the rot and despoliation of the country. Unlike the archetypal middle class in Western countries that act to protect the democratic order by ensuring good governance and accountability of elected leaders, the Nigerian middle class, with few exceptions, use their privileged positions to negotiate good deals for themselves, their families and friends and have thus become the medium through which Nigeria’s politics of plunder, neopatrimonialism and prebandalism is sustained and deepened. But by doing this, they are inevitably committing class suicide because as research has shown, the economic fate of the middle class economic is directly tied to the quality of governance and economic management. The middle class depends more on public services than the rich or upper class. The rich could, in most cases, opt out of public service but not so the middle class. They could attempt to opt out of public service, as the Nigerian middle class did when the quality of education declined from the late 1980s onwards. But as most of them are now realising, their diminished income cannot provide the kind of private education they enjoyed to their children. But why does the Nigerian middle class always act against its enlightened self-interest? The answer lies in a pathology David Hundeyin calls “culturally embedded pathological selfishness,” a “desperate, individualistic drive to survive in spite of (perhaps at the expense of) everyone else”. He traces the history of this narcissistic attitude to the “Meritorious Manumission Act of 1710 in the United States, which authorised the legal emancipation of slaves or improvement in their status in return for certain ‘good deeds’” such as saving a master’s life, property or snitching on fellow slaves. In reality though, no level of personal emancipation could insulate the slave from the harshness of 18th century American society. As many so-called emancipated slaves later discovered, there can be no personal emancipation outside the group and no matter how they tried, they could not escape the “nasty shared experience of blackness.” That mindset found its way back across the Atlantic and has taken deep roots in our culture and religion, and has led to the belief that our personal interests comes before the collective; that, in fact, our “case is different” and that in spite of the bleak fortunes of our society, we could prosper and become quite successful as individuals. Needless to say, this perverse mindset only makes us become more vicious and untrustworthy, always willing to cheat, back-stab one another and endanger the interest of the collective for an illusion of personal emancipation. It is this false consciousness that makes a public official thinks he is looking out for his interest and that of his family by embezzling funds meant for social services or infrastructure. It is why the search of lucre has become the main motivation for politics, religion and life generally in Nigeria. Of course, like the 18th century emancipated slaves discovered, personal emancipation outside group emancipation is a mirage. However, the Nigerian middle class is yet to realise that simple fact. We destroy the chance of group emancipation by our utter selfishness but go to church every day to listen to pastors who assure us that we can achieve personal breakthroughs even if the entire society is out of joint. We offer our services to perpetuate military and civilian dictatorships but go to church and mosque to pray for good governance and God-fearing leaders. We sit by idly or even partake in the diversion of funds meant for investments in public infrastructure such as health and roads but we go to the church and mosque daily to pray for good health and for journey mercies when travelling. We sit by and watch as our leaders turn the country to a haven of poverty and unemployment yet go to church and mosque to pray for protection from robbery and burglary. Eventually, when we come up against the harsh reality of what our country has become and our utter helplessness, we want out. We aspire to go live in a country where its middle class are performing their duties of holding their governments accountable and ensuring adequate investments in public infrastructure and services. I’ll end with a personal and painful example. Sometime in 2017, the Lagos state governor invited senior editors of media houses to the government house, Ikeja, to brief them on government’s plan for the state and to get their inputs. At the meeting, I watched with shame as senior journalists and editors suck up to the governor, shamelessly singing his praises and asking for ridiculous favours. My single attempt to ask the governor probing questions on government accountability brought the programme to an end and accusations from my colleagues of embarrassing my host. If senior journalists, whose job it is to hold government accountable, could behave this way, imagine what other professionals do when they come in contact with political leaders. Chinkobanana:I don't remember disputing your facts, I do not live in the USA and do not know by what indices your stats are counting so I have nothing to say about it. I have relatives and family members in the states, they have a different opinion when it comes to the subject matter. I live in Nigeria and I'm well travelled within Nigeria. And trust me when I tell you insecurity is a big issue here. From kidnapping to armed robbery and outright killing by both armed lunatics and uniformed men I have lost count. I had a family member kidnapped just last month in delta state. I have uncles and brothers killed in jos, benue, kaduna, kano, bauchi, abuja, Niger, anambra. I have freinds that were shot dead by trigger happy policemen and SARS operatives. Ive had my own mother stabbed by religious zealots and my fathers business razed to the ground in states you would call safe. So when you are comparing safety of both countries, don't assume I live safely in nigeria. I respect your opinion, but from where I am standing you are completely wrong. |
