Everything boils down to 2015 gubernatorial race. Immediately this happened, the governor ran to Abuja and later ran to kano probably to meet with the emir. The commissioner cried all through but many don’t know why he cried. It’s because he’s to retire in 2 months’ time but now will likely face dismissal.

Sept.12, 2001: Pres.George.W.Bush gives press statement absolving Al-Qaeda of blame for the terrorist attack. He claims to know the Arabs like the back of his hand and tells the world to ignore their claims. He blames the deadly Plane crashes on a “small terrorist group outside The United States”, but failed to specify which one.

Jan.08, 2003: Osama Bin Laden is arrested in the United Kingdom as per request of the U.S Govt. The U.S refuses to extradite and begs the U.K to prosecute Bin Laden (A U.S Citizen) on its behalf in London.

Oct.21, 2003: Bin Laden's trial in London begins. Opening statements show a complicity between The U.S President and the terror chief, Bin Laden. Pres.Bush, despite overwhelming evidence, denies all accusations. He is still to tell the world who is behind the bombings which he earlier absolved Al Qaeda from.

Oct.26, 2003: After a 4 day break, trial resumes with Bin Laden insisting Pres.Bush Knew about the bombings. The Judge presiding over the case, Lord Henry McPherson, agrees that there seems to "at the very least, have been some kind of knowledge known to the President that an attack was imminent. Whether the Presidency sanctioned it or not still doesnt make it right because innocent people lost their lives. In the end both sides will have to prove their case". Trial to resume in 3 days. Prosecution reveals they will call several current top ranking U.S intelligence officers and *Ministers to serve as witnesses for the Prosecution. Court is adjourned.

Oct. 29. 2003: U.S Sec.of State, Hillary Clinton, is called as the Prosecution's first witness. She reveals that Pres.Bush still regards Bin Laden as a brother and is still willing to work with him if he agrees to repent. She also reveals to the Court that Pres.Bush bears no animosity towards Bin Laden and in fact still refers to him as "My Brother, Henry" during private conversations. She describes him as a freedom fighter for the Arabs who '...just chose the wrong part and if he's willing to change, we extend the arm of friendship to him".

Nov.27, 2003: Bin Laden is found guilty on all counts and faces a mandatory minimum sentence of Life in prison. The Judge advises defense counsel to file the necessary motions for mitigation in the implementation of the mandatory minimum sentence within 2 weeks if he feels there might be circumstances unknown to the Court which might help his client avoid spending the rest of his life in prison as called for by law. Defense counsel informs the court that in addition to filing a "Mitigating Circumstances" Motion, he also wishes to seek an oral application for a retrial. He also made an oral application for a dismissal of the guilty verdict returned by the jury. Judge Mcpherson denied both Motions. However, he gave counsel a window period of 9 days to submit any written applications for a retrial. Sentencing is set for Jan.16, 2004.

Jan.16, 2004: Bin Laden is sentenced to the mandatory minimum of Life in prison. He is led away from the court room screaming and yelling and accusing the U.S Government of complicity in the attack that led to his conviction. "I have been blindsided by the President, and God will judge us all", he said.

Jan. 24, 2004: Several alleged Bin Laden associates are convicted in Washington D.C after a quick trial. Legal analysts are not only baffled at the speed with which the trials are conducted and concluded, but a source (who wished to remain nameless) wondered why the Govt. chose to have Bin laden tried in a foreign country, while his associates were tried in the United States. Furthermore, they wondered aloud why no mention of the trial in D.C was made while that of Bin Laden was going in London. The speedy start and conclusion of this trial has also left most people confused.

Feb. 27, 2004: First Lady Barbara Bush returns from Germany clearly spotting brand new Double Ds. As he left our house, he took it to a destitute home near our house and offered it as gifts to the homeless there. His actions touched my mother so much that she personally went on a visit to that place and offered them stuffs and spent some time with them. That singular act lives in my memory as a true act of a true xtian. Deep Sight: I have heard this said by people and it never ceases to amaze me. You see; this is one of the problems we have with our way of thinking in this country: the willful determination NOT to take responsibility for our actions and particularly our in-actions.

Haven been "invited" to partake in the act (and of course he did participate in the final stages by making himself available publicly as the new Head of State - - - it is really beyond imagination, that when it is said, that it is treason to take over the Government by unconstitutional means; that "accepting" an illegal invitation so to do; does not amount to "taking over the Government by illegal means" - only Nigerians can imagine such an incongruity to be a valid excuse for treason!).

5. If at all it may be argued, as many have, that he had no choice but to accept, otherwise he would have lost his head; then this fact is obviated by the fact that he was made commander-in-chief: and therein had full powers to repudiate the coup and deal with the offending officers - a fact which cannot be denied for the evident reason that he turned out to be a very strong minded and stubborn leader - and as such it cannot be claimed that he could not have dealt with his subordinates if he had chosen to: and restored constitutionality. This further shows him to have happily accepted the illegality that he had become involved in. Indeed, the statement by the same officers that he was "rigid and uncompromising" shows clearly that he was fully in charge and not taking orders from anybody, even if acting in council.

I will give one example of this truth: although it lies within the take-over of a military government, the principle remains the same: when Dimka's coup was put down, why did the officers loyal to the government act the way they did to put the coup down? That's right - because of their responsibility and loyalty to the government. Now what would you say of such responsibility and loyalty if the officers that so acted, had rather thrown up ththeir hands and said - we have been invited to head the new Government.

Worse - if the proper government comes back to power - what would be its view of the actions of those who "accepted to head the new government"? ? ?

Now I have stated all the foregoing not because i needed to: and members of a sensible society should know these to be inherently true: I have stated them simply on account of the very shocking notion bandied about by many that Buhari bears no responsibility for the coup in question.

As an army officer, his constitutional duty was to protect the state and the government: as such, it is egregiously contradictory to state that after the government he is sworn to protect is illegally attacked and removed, he then abandons his duty to "accept an invitation" to become head of the then illegally established Government. That acceptance is the last and final and most important aspect of the coup, and nobody can argue otherwise.

Indeed, people are co-opted into coups at various statges - he was co-opted at the last stage - to take over as Military Head of State. That amounts to being part of the coup at its final stage. Nobody can argue otherwise.

Now in saying all this, I have not even touched upon his human rights record - which any one should know is incompatible with the idea of an officer and a gentleman - not to speak of a democratically inclined gentleman.

Finally, Gbawe: I am not particularly moved by your statement regarding not commenting on History much for one simple reason: you say you were not there. However the simple fact of life is that you are also not there to observe the generality of current affairs either.
