wonlasewonimi:You were already late. Several of the intellectually bereft folks already dragged in Peter. Extremely appalling that they always try to mask the highly corrupt and regressive practices of the current administration with their childish and self deceptive hatred for Peter. I also see comments disguising the weighty allegations with Atiku’s past performances. How do two wrongs make a right? How can we ever fix this country with these Stone Age mindset?! |
How is power in your area? What’s cause of current power outage at least in Lagos? |
The traditionalists have their rights to religion same way non-followers also have their rights to movement and civil activities. The rights of one group should not be interfered and should not interfere by/with the rights of the other group. |
Do these guys think at all? How can the govt tax paper/temporary incomes? Will they refund the taxes when the banks suffer huge FX losses? Banks are not allowed to pay dividend out of FX gains, but are now being tax on the forbidden fruit? The whole FX gains/losses arose from govt policies. Govt is doing nothing to lighten the burden on the productive sector. Why think only of ways of squeezing entities? |
Rest in peace Mrs Florence. But one thing I don’t understand is why the ceremonies are being held in Lagos, not in Ilorin, not even in Ondo. With the Saraki dynasty so entrenched in Kwara, I don’t want to believe the State isn’t magnificent enough to host the burial ceremony of Ma Florence. Our politicians really really need to examine their consciences. The people should do even more! |
Why is the Ebonyi governor always frowning?! Lolll |
Risingblue008:Is the victim having the money a justification for kidnap?! Smh |
iykofias:Tell me you’re just joking |
StreetFight:Lolllllllllll |
Lots of attacks on the messenger rather than the message apparently for politics. Just wondering what those people’s reactions will be if it’s their hard earned money and maybe only savings are stucked in the bank. What is wrong with paying the depositors back in full? Isn’t it their money? Later one will be hearing “conditional cash transfers “ to ‘ghosts’. We need to be realistic, the depositors must not suffer in a bid to fix the system. |
Beremx:Then she has to also wear hijab 🧕🏽 🤣 |
The light situation has become worse since the so-called banding, the article alludes to same fact. They’re basically scraping the already nonexistent light from the other band consumers just to meet the band A quota. This has worsened the light situation especially for the other consumers. It’s unimaginable that the most populous black nation cannot even boast of 5k MW. Increase capacity before coming out with this type of policy. |
LegendHero:True! |
LegendHero:very good point on Wale Edun needing to up his game. I really haven’t seen any traction from the fiscal end. Depending only on monetary policies is unsustainable in the medium to long term. |
I’m liking this borehole debate. Politics aside, it baffles me how most of our state and local governments do absolutely nothing to alleviate the water challenges within their states and local governments. A case in point is Lagos, surrounded by large water bodies yet hardly have good portable water supply. Most houses have to depend on individually constructed boreholes. I do not understand why it’s such an impossible task. |
Good job by Cardoso and Team so far! However, the government needs to expand its horizon beyond just monetary policies and measures. That is really not sustainable in the medium to long term. The monetary policies need to be supported by clear and strategic fiscal, economic and even security policies and actions. We need to see clear actions on security to encourage local food production; manufacturers need to be incentivized (in contrast to some of the current measures that worsen costs of production), etc. |
I don’t understand. Is the doctor that declared him dead a quack to have done so? Why would it take a mortician to identify life when the doctor had pronounced dead? Was it a miracle? |
Confirmedzombie:A very good point, but smeared with hate. |
LibertyRep:💯 |
I agree completely. Earlier, I read the lamentation by Gov Uba Sani of Kaduna. He was complaining about the huge debts left by his predecessor, who himself thinks he has done so well that he’s beginning to strategize for 2027. The Gov laments that the state got only N3bn from the N7bn accrued to the state in March. And I’m like: so the states cannot survive without the FAAC. No single mention of what the government is doing to increase the state’s IGR. Obviously, this is how most of the states will continue unless we embrace true federalism. After promising heaven and earth during electioneering campaigns, they come lamenting at their incompetences. But with true federalism, they’ll have to sit their asses down and think of ways to make money for their states. I also agree with Adesina’s position on the high intrinsic tax borne by Nigerians. With the huge tax revenues and surrounded by huge water resources, one wonders why most households in Lagos have to provide water for themselves for instance. The government continues to play politics with the dare security challenges in the country. If not, why is instituting state police such a difficult task? It’s well! |
Okay noted. But honestly, Ogun state has a very long way to go regarding road construction. Virtually every road connecting other states to Ogun are terrible. My last weekend was wasted just for a short visit to some locations in Ogun state. |
Very low safety consciousness. Fiddling with phone on the always busy Lagos roads. I see runners do that a lot and I’m like: “do you have double life?”. Another recklessness is not barricading red zone. We shouldn’t take safety more seriously. |
Domaining101:Wetin happen?!! 🤔 |
Watianoengineer:Someone ‘prophesied’ that APC and its supporters will latch unto this recession story and blow their trumpets on how Nigeria is much better than UK and Japan. Lo and behold it’s already happening! |
STEWpid:Co-asking! Even the governors blame the FG for issues completely within their control. What are their state allocations and security allocations meant for? It’s high time we started holding our state governors, legislators and others responsible for things within their purview. Just empty promises during campaigns. |
A radio presenter alleged that this cyber bullying could be the government’s strategy to portray the social media as “evil” in order to enforce the gag/ban already being severally muted by the government (re: Gbaja’s recent comments on the subject). Honestly I’m towing that line of thought and I hope we don’t allow ourselves fall into their trap. You would imagine that this childish bullying would be coming from unknown names, but when so-called social media influencers are pioneering such bullying then it’s very likely a well orchestrated setup. Nigerians, let’s not fall victims!!! |
datola:Seriously, how they sleep at night is beyond imagination! How can ‘humans’ be this cruel to fellow humans?! |
See the hungry looking kidnappers. This is the more reason I believe these are just foot soldiers doing the dirty biddings of heartless politicians and others. Although the guns are surprisingly too cheap, I don’t know how these folks that are probably struggling to make ends meet can afford such guns. unfortunately, nothing is being done to apprehend the sponsors. Smh 🤦🏽♂️ |
Well done! But shouldn’t they have secretly have him lead them to the kidnappers before this went viral?! |
What exactly is the govt doing to encourage the existing companies to stay and new foreign investors to come? Absolutely nothing! No clear policy direction, no incentives, nothing! Contrarily, the govt and its corrupt agencies, go after the relatively law abiding companies and continue to corruptly squeeze them because they know those companies will never give in to their corrupt demands. The highly corrupt NCDMB is a very clear example of this height of govt squeezing the foreign investors. They come and threaten you with very stupid and baseless audits and fines. Meanwhile, a body that’s supposed to be promoting local content has its management and staff, gallivanting around foreign countries from kickbacks they get from non-compliant companies and some companies sponsored training and estacodes imposed on such companies. Anyone that has dealt with these guys can bear me witness. Just an epitome of how Nigeria is forcing companies outta Nigeria. Smh!!!🤦🏽♂️ |
The morals for me is that assignment of ministries should be largely based on individual areas of expertise. The legislatures need to quickly change the archaic practice of screening prospective ministers without portfolios. |
Is this Reno guy scared of Atiku or something? He never had the guts to badmouth Atiku, and would always drag in PO into every issue just to trend. Abi PO previously seized his wife ni? I wonder what Reno will be doing at the end of this election cycle. |
