The way and manner pythons are being killed in Nigeria, sooner than later, they'll become extinct. |
9mobile is good for me. With 200, I get 1gb for 3days, 250 bucks to call all networks, and additional 250bucks to call only 9mobile lines, then I earn credits whenever people call me on my 9mobile number. I think this is cool for me, cos most times, I don't buy credit for calls. I only buy for data and enjoy the rest. |
Nice song, cool video |
Mikel shouldn't be in our first team, he should be coming in as a substitute, and whenever he comes in, he should play as a defensive midfielder, not as an attacking midfielder (he has no business in that department). Also Gernot Rohr should do well to scout for attacking midefielders. Apart from Iwobi, we lack talents in that department. Overall we did well, and in my opinion, we have a complete team, that's if Mikel comes in as a substitute and concentrates his effort as a defensive midfielder. |
Hello, good morning all. Please I was reading somewhere in a blog about US and Donald Trump immigration policy for Africans and Africa. A section of the article focused on Nigeria, and what I picked from it was that Nigeria accounts for about 25% of the total number of visas issued to Africa in 2018 which was the highest among other African countries, followed by South Africa and then Egypt. Therefore, starting from 2019, Nigerian student visa applications to the US will be suspended indefinitely pending when Donald Trump and the US government finalize their immigration policy for Africa and Africans. I don't know how true this is, but already they have increased the cost of sevis fee from $150 to I think $350-$400 (not precisely sure of the exact amount) and the high rate of refusal is dramatically increasing by the day. So personally, I am not surprise if this is true, but I want to confirm from others if they have come across this information so that they can share it with the house as well and we all get informed. Thank you. |
babaolofin:That Lagos/Badagry Expressway started from Orile around 2010. Wherever that road stopped at Okokomaiko right now, was the joint effort of Jonathan and Fashola who were the leaders in the past administration. FG approved the loan from World Bank which was about $200m and Fashola made sure that the money was used for the construction of that road. Every other rheotoric you hear about ongoing construction on Lagos/Badagry Expressway since 2015 are all lies. Ambode really failed, and it's good that he's being kicked out. |
Esseite:Because any electronic transmission of results is not supported by our Constitution. Remember that Buhari never signed the electoral act tas amended that was passed to him for assent last year by the Senate. Buhari knew what he was doing when he refused to pass that bill into law. This is the major hurdle PDP and Atiku will face and have to overcome. They will find it difficult convincing the electoral tribunal to accept the results that was transmitted electronically to INEC server. Unless they can find the hard copies of the electronically transmitted results, I fear PDP/Atiku may lose the case to APC and Buhari. Otherwise these confessions by the presiding officers is enough to tip the Presidency to Atiku's favor. This is just my opinion, I'm not an expert in this matter. |
Godsmercy11:If I get another admission in another school, what happens to sevis fee that I have paid already? Do I pay another one again? How do I get my sevis updated? |
bracelum:I didn't say you called me Desperate. I said using the word desperate is not nice and kind of negative. Several people have applied up to 3 to 4 times before they got their visa. It will be wrong to tag them desperate, rather one will say they were persistent, and persistency is a good thing. I'm only trying to change that mind set of always using the word desperate. Anybody applying for a visa knows what he wants to achieve there, and sometimes you have to be persistent in order to get what you want. That's all, and I have heard you, so I will say thank you once more. |
mrprolifik:Thanks bros, I appreciate. |
LagosismyHome:Yes of course I can file for an appeal, but it will require me employing the services of an immigration lawyer in Canada and paying a fee of up to $6000. It's expensive, so I dropped that idea. |
bracelum:When you use the word being desperate, it sounds like my intention to study in either study in US or Canada is not geniune. Please don't use that word like that, it's not nice. There's nothing wrong if a person applies to Canada, and then decide to apply to US. Saying someone is desperate is very negative. Instead of saying someone is desperate, why not say the person is being persistent in chasing his dream which is a good thing. Please it's a mind thing, and the word Desperate is a negative word. Secondly, my sponsor had enough money to pay for my tuition fee for one year with plenty of change left in his account, so in my own opinion, I don't think it's the account. However, I have noted your opinion, and I say thank you. |
Hello, please can anyone guide me on how to apply for a GCMS? Thank you. |
Ajibade105:Okay, thanks alot. I guess from here I will know what my next action will be. |
LagosismyHome:This is what they said, and I quote; "Thank you for your interest in studying in Canada. After careful review of your study permit application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds: • You have been found inadmissible to Canada in accordance with paragraph 40(1)(a) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) for directly or indirectly misrepresenting or withholding material facts relating to a relevant matter that induces or could induce an error in the administration of the IRPA. In accordance with paragraph A40(2)(a), you will remain inadmissible to Canada for a period of five years from the date of this letter or from the date a previous removal order was enforced. You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee". I only want to know if I reapply again, and present a strong argument about why I should be issued a visa, a vo may accept to grant me visa because I have spoken with some immigration lawyers , they said that normally it shouldn't affect my chances because America and Canada are two different countries even though they share information. So I just want to know if anybody have come across someone with a similar situation. |
Flattino:I am not contradicting myself. I guess you didn't understand me. Let me ask you a question, if you applied for a non-immigrant visa in the past, and you were denied based on the ground that you have no strong home ties, is this an offense on its own credit for anybody to omit such information from his/her application? I'm guessing your answer will be "NO" because there's no reason to lie about this. Apparently I did not understand that question properly. In 2017, as at the time I was applying to Canada to study, I was 27, I was living far away from my parents and siblings, and I'm a private person who rarely share his personal affairs with people. My girlfriend of course knew I was making plans to travel, but she was threatening to break up with me because she felt I was going to abandon her once I live the country. So I didn't show anybody my application to proof read, except for information I was getting on Nairaland which I have come to realize that all information you need may not have been written if you don't ask, and I did not ask because I was inexperience. It was a very honest mistake which anybody can make, and I am regretting it painfully. It has nothing to do whether the US and Canada share information or not. It was just a pure honest mistake on my part. |
bracelum:I understand your point, and I am considering this option as well. However, let me point out to you why I didn't get any scholarship or funding from the school. The school offers some level of funding to graduate level student only if you have a 3.0 gpa as at when you're admitted which unfortunately I did not have. You can always apply for another round of scholarship the next year so long as your gpa is up to 3.0. However, I can apply for a graduate assistantship program if I resume for classes during the first week of orientation, and have met the admission requirements (that's if I submit some immunization records which is mandatory). The graduate assistantship program is highly competitive, so it's advisable you start early to apply for it. Also Touro College is a private University no doubt, but it's not a small school, because firstly they have campuses all over the US, and in some countries in Europe, the middle east, and in Asia. It's accredited, and it's been in operation since 1977. Secondly, their faculty of medicine and accounting is widely recognized and accepted all over America as a good place to study this program because of the researches they have conducted in their department of medicine. Thirdly, the graduation rate in the school is above 65%, and about 83% of their students get one type of funding or the other. So I have no doubt in my mind that it's a good school even though their classes are very flexible for working class people ( which of course I will not mention this to any v.o). I think the major reason why I was refused is because of my issue with Canada, and if I wasn't banned in that country, I guess that is where I would have gone to because I love the place and there is an easy path to PR, unlike US and Trump wahala. Do you think my last transcript will affect my chances of getting a visa, because I intend to include this denial on my visa application. I just want get a candidate opinion, and want to know if anybody has encountered this kind challenge, or know someone that faced it in the past before I reapply again. Thank you very much. |
Ajibade105:No I DID NOT FORGE ANY DOCUMENT at all. I was banned because a question was asked in the application form if I have ever been denied visa to Canada or any other country, I mistakenly answered "NO" because I thought the question was only referring to Canada. To be honest with you, because of my inexperience while I was applying to Canada then, I totally forgot that I have ever applied for a non-immigrant visa to US. Other than this, there was no other reason why I was banned. This is the truth. |
emandman:My brother na so Canada dey do o, den go tag am as misrepresentation. |
Pefuele:Well I wasn't asked any question about home ties. I also didn't know the information the v.o had on her screen, that's why I decided to say the truth. However when I left the embassy, I thought about what you just said now that could it be that the v.o didn't know I was banned? Was that the reason why she initially asked why I was denied? Well the deed has been done. Please what can I do next? Reapply at once (it will be the 3rd time if I do so), defer my admission to summer/fall, and reapply later, or drop the idea of repplying at all because the vo may have recorded a transcript of the interview she conducted with me thereby any other transcript I give to any subsequent interview that is contrary to what they have may be self implicating. Please house what should I do next? Thank you very much. |
Hello house, went for my visa interview on the 7th of January, and I was denied. My interview was at Abuja, and it was scheduled for 9am. A blonde white lady at window 12 was the person who conducted the interview. V.O: Please pass me your passport and I-20. Me: (I corresponded). V.O: Why are you going to the U.S? Me: I am going to the U.S to study for a Masters degree at Touro College, New York City. V.O: Why did you choose this University? Me: I chose Touro College because the University has a training program offered by the graduate school of technology that is called The System Z training program which focuses at training graduate level student in Cobol programming language, and in IBM z/os mainframe computers. Cobol programming language is actually not taught in about 73% of most American Universities, and having the opportunity of being trained in IBM z/os platform will greatly enhance my chances of securing a job with IBM Nigeria as a System and application programmer. Another reason why I chose Touro College over other Universities in America is that the MSIN program is designed around a core foundation courses in technology management. This in my own understanding is awesome, because it will expose me into having the skills and knowledge that will help me transition into getting a job in IT leadership and management in Nigeria, considering the fact these job positions are dramatically increasing in my home country Nigeria. These are the reasons why I chose Touro College. V.O: Very good. I can see on your profile that you have been denied visa to Canada in 2017, can you explain to me what category of visa you applied for, and why you were denied? Me: (I didn't include this information in my application, because I felt there was no need to) Yes I was denied visa to Canada, and I applied for a student visa. V.O: Why were you denied? Me: I was denied because I misrepresented myself in my application, and this resulted into the Canadian embassy banning me for 5yrs. How I misrepresented myself was unintentional. In the application form, a question was asked if I have been denied visa to Canada or any other country. I didn't understand that the question was asking about other countries, so I said "NO" instead of "YES" because I was denied an American visa in 2015. It was entirely a mistake, and there was no intention what so ever on my part to tell a lie. When my attention was drawn to it by the Canadian embassy, I wrote a procedural fairness letter, where I stated that it was an error, and that I didn't understand the question properly. However, they still went ahead to ban me. V.O: Okay so who's your sponsor? Me: My Uncle. V.O: What does he do? Me: He imports electrical and electronic appliances to the country. V.O: Does he have enough money to pay your fees, because I can see you have no funding. Me: Yes I believe he does have enough money to take care of my education in the US. V.O: Do you have any bank statement to proof that? Me: Yes I do. V.O: Let me see it. Me: (Handed it over to her). V.O: (She flipped through it to see the opening and closing balance, then handed it back to me) I am quite satisfied with your bank statement, but unfortunately I cannot approve your visa at this moment. This letter will explain to you why you were denied. (She gave me a green paper). I'm not going to lie, I was shocked that I was denied again the second time in a row. Then it occurred to me that it was my denial to Canada that may have disqualified me at that moment for the VO to grant me the visa then. I want to ask the house (especially the gurus), with this kind of stigma in my visa application history, what can I do to improve my chances if I apply next time again? Thank you very much for your contribution. |
Please does anybody have an idea if it's possible for someone who has been banned from applying for a visa to Canada, have a shot at getting a visa to America? |
Good day all and the gurus in the house. Let me first of all start by wishing everybody a Merry Christmas. Please I am compiling my transcript for my interview that will be on the 7th of January next year. There's a particular anticipatory question I just answered from two perspective, I will like the gurus to help me judge which is better to use on the day of the interview. Alright here it goes: V.O: Why did you choose MSIN (Masters in Information Systems) ? Ans: I chose MSIN because that's what I have been doing since 2015. Although I work as a Network Administrator in my place of work, my job has exposed me to the side of web and application development. Since last year, I have started tutoring myself in some of the concept of web and application development such as Object Oriented Programming, Data Structures and Algorithms, Test Driven Development, and how is beneficial to programming along with some programming languages like HTML/CSS and JavaScript. This effort I have made has made me realize that I love programming, and this what I want to do, and why I chose MSIN so that I can improve my skills in it, and launch my career as a Web and Application Programmer. Touro College offered exactly just that through their MSIN program which is also designed for students who have no background in Computer Science with their three prerequisite courses which are Computer Concept, Web programming I and II, and. Database Concept and Design. Taking these courses will give me the necessary qualifications to proceed with the program and acquire the skills I need excel in my chosen career path. Please help me compare with this. V.O: I have been a Web developer since 2015, and I am seeking to improve my skills and become an expert in back-end web and application development, so I searched specifically for courses that could afford me the knowledge and skills I need to improve in my field and chosen path so that I can achieve my goal of excelling in my career, likewise improving Nigeria's economy through technology. Touro College offered exactly that through the MSIN program with courses such as web and application development, advanced web and application development, website engineering, Database Management and Administration, along with some elective courses which I shall complete in two years. Please gurus, help me choose which is better. Thank you very much. |

PassingShot:All sectors of the economy are usually captured in NBS statistics. From the article, only 46k jobs have been created so far. The rest of the number may be as a result of other factors. |
deomelllo:Nigerian Tribune is also in America, not in Nigeria abi? Mtcheww, Buharists and their mentalities, only God will liberate them.
|
So why is Bloomberg saying something different?
|
DG of NBS was asked on twitter if the claim by Garba Shehu is true, this is reply from his tweet.

Humble11:No not really. Anyway this is what transpired between myself and the V.O, in order for others to learn from it. V.O: Good morning, pass me your documents. Me: (I passed my I-20 and passport). V.O: Why did you choose Touro College? Me: Well I chose Touro College because it has a low student to teacher ratio which makes learning a personalized experience. V.O: I am not fully convinced that this was the reason why you chose Touro College, so tell me, why Touro College ? Why not any other University? Me: Like I said earlier on ma, Touro College have small classes which makes learning a personalized experience. Such classes promotes a healthy relationship between students and professors which will make students excel in their studies. Aside from that, the school is quite affordable for both myself and my sponsor. V.O: How is $37,000 affordable for your sponsor? Don't you think it's on the high side? Me: Yes the total cost of the tuition for 1yr $37,000, but as you can see on my I-20, the tuition itself is within the range of $13,000 which is quite affordable. The $23,000 is for accommodation, transportation, and my basic upkeep, which in my own mind is an estimate of what it will cost for 1yr. Once I get to New York City, I can always search for accommodation which will fit my own budget. V.O: Did you write GRE? Me: Yes I wrote GRE V.O: How many schools did you apply to? Me: I applied to 4 Universities. V.O: How do you plan to pay your fees? Me: My Uncle is my sponsor. V.O: (Gives me a pink paper) I am sorry, but at this moment I cannot approve your visa. This document will explain why you are denied. Me: Ok, thank you ma. My lesson: Personally, I feel I shouldn't have mentioned about the affordability of the school. Whilst I was preparing for my interview, I had in mind to talk about the accreditation of the University, and what the University is known for. Unfortunately, I mentioned the affordability first before wanting to chip in these other points. That's why I want to refire immediately. I shouldn't have talked about the affordability of the school, this is what I have learnt so far. Your recommendations, and suggestions will be appreciated. |
fairheart:Thank you very much. |
Good day, I was just denied visa today, and I want to refire ASAP because my masters program is starting on the 28th of January next year. I want to know if anybody can inform me whether there are still bookings left for the month of December so that I can go and pay another visa tomorrow to reapply immediately. Thank you very much. |
AmaSophy:If I omitt this information about my parents on my ds-160, won't they find out when they're verifying it? |
