PoliticsIn Search Of Great Leader, Jonathan Engage Nairalanders by LFJ(op): 5:17pm On Aug 17, 2012
I have read and heard much about many great leaders and what make these leaders to be great, and why are these great leaders popular and celebrated by their people.

I equally noticed that there is something similar in the way most of these great leaders rose to power; most of these great leaders came to power when their people needed them most. The question that has continued to torment my innocent mind is, were these great leaders came to power just by luck?

In my innocent response, the answer is no. Great followers elect great leaders; great followers do not elect their leaders based on religious or on ethnic sentiment. Great followers stand to say the truth because they are not blindfolded by their ethnic affiliation; they know which leader is good for which time.

I rejoice with those great followers who see their future, and that of generation behind in the great leader they elect today. I have asked myself millions of times that, who among our past and current leaders worth to be celebrate? Who among our leaders deserve the honor of a great leader? The more I tried to answer this question, the more my memory failed me. I don’t need the attention of historians to know what make Nelson Mandela great to people of South Africa neither do I need to carry elaborate research to know why Americans celebrate George Washington and Franklin Roosevelt.

After much soul searching, I have no option than to come to the conclusion that Nigeria is not ready for the great leader. Great leaders do not come by luck; people elect great leaders to do great things. Great followers elect the great leaders they need in time of trouble. How do we elect our own leaders? The answer is in how our so-called leaders of today get to their position. So my question is “WHEN IS OUR OWN GREAT LEADER GOING TO COME”.
PoliticsRe: ELRUFAI Again!!!!!!!! by LFJ: 3:16pm On Aug 17, 2012
If truth must be told, if am to compare El Rufai and president Jonathan, I will conclude that the worst of el Rufai is better than the best of uncle Joe. Based on the current contributions of the man el Rufai to the national issues, I don't need uncle joe agents to tell me another story.

noblezone: A non moslem converting to Islam is always welcomed with fanfair and open alms.

But a moslem converting to other religion will be stoned to death.

The "peace" in Islam is only when all "infidels" submit either by peace of by war.
I guess this is what your own type of Bible said about muslims

Whoever take Chiristinity serious as a religion should have a rethink. What is there in a religion that take from the poor and give to the rich?

One of the person that is too big to be ignore today by uncle Joe is Nasiru el Rufai. The reason for this is clear, the guy is bless in knowledge. The more we shout and condem him here the more Uncle Joe develove heart attack at mere hearing his name and that of Bakare. Even the attack lion hired to battle these men is currently battle to safe his own image.

Acidosis: If Buhari takes that presidential position in 2015, Then I'll cease to be a Nigerian. . .I'm saying this without any element of doubt that whoever vote for this man-Buhari, will live to regret his actions. .

Nigerians, lets look before we leap. . This man does not have NIGERIANS in mind but Islam and sharia.

We all think GEJ is the Devil, but we'll one day prefer the Devil to Buhari.

The same person that wants to make Nigeria ungovernable now wants to rule over me- God forbid.

I hope Tinubu won't fall for him. . .but then, ain't they brothers (religion) ?
I can't wait to see your name remove from our list. This will be a big celebration to those of us who cherish the unity of our dear country. What purpose are you currently serving as a Nigeria rather than propagating ethnic agenda.
PoliticsRe: Okupe Blast Elrufai Again, Says You Are Peddling Falsehood by LFJ: 3:49pm On Aug 13, 2012
A performing government may not need attack dog or lion to fight oppositions, when the performance of government is not enough to win the heart of his people; definately, such government will need a loud mouth to wage war against opposition. If you employ somebody to engage the public about what your govt is doing that is not clear to the public, and the person abandon his job discribtion and start to chase shadow, I don't need to be told that this is recrutment error. This man need to be focus on his job and leave the critics alone.

Congratulation! Don't waste any more time, applied to school in US as a transfer student, it is not true that you cannot get more than 60 creidts, you can get as many as 90 credits depending on the school you apply to, how your lucky shine and the course you intend to pursue. If you intend to stay in US permanently I will strongly advise you to transfer your credits because of the long term benefit. In US Nigeria certificates don't hv much value due to many factors. Even if you go back to Nigeria to finish ur Bs don't be suprise that you may still need to do it again. Best of luck

Billyonaire: This is the root cause of Boko Haram and all impeachment threat to foil 2015 mandate, the North wants GEJ out of the way, so the licenses can be renewed cos most of them are expiring from 2017 upwards. North is fighting will all at their disposal alongside their allies in the West. So called Bakare is a surrogate to these creepy Northerners. I will offer proof if needed.
These was what the criminals of yesterday did. We are waiting to see what the criminals of today will do. Uncle Joe is in charge today, he does not need to wait till 2017 bf he takes any action if there was any wrong doing in the past. Let us stop crying, there is tendency that if Joe shd be given chance to redistribute these oil well today, I belt my life that the only difference we are going to see is taking it from one criminal and give it to another loyal criminal.
Stop these Ijaw and Niger Delta drama, your man is now there, why are you crying again?
Millions of Nigria graduate are dying of unemployment every minute and you are here propagating ethnic agenda instead of raising our voice against our common criminals.

PoliticsRe: Okupe Blasts El-Rufai & Bakare Over GEJ Resignation Call by LFJ: 4:45pm On Aug 09, 2012
The only advice I have for Dr Okupe is to tread with caution. This is battle millions of his type cannot win. At his age, I will expect him to be diplomatic in his approach. This was not years’ back when the voices of oppositions were being killed before it is heard. The game has change; millions of voices can be raise and be heard at the same time. If his approach is to attack the oppositions, the responses he will get from millions of frustrated Nigerians may send him to his early grave.

Those who love the doctor should advise him to focus on image loudening of the government, and stop going after the perceive enemy of the government. If Al-Mustapha that fought opposition with his gun can confess that it was not an easy job, I wonder what will be the story of a man who wants to fight millions of frustrated Nigerians with his mouth without having his medical doctor beside him for possible heart attack that may arise from the responses he will get.

I hope the Doctor will get his scorecard before the end of this year. By this time, the battle will be shifted from been attack dog of government to how he will safe his own image. Time will tell, best of luck in your current role DR. OKUPE.

Okija_juju: This is my final response to you...

You are like a drowning man grasping for straws.. I really could give a fhuck less about Tunde Bakare. He is a Northerner and a descendant of Cattlefuckers...

This thread is not about the way I feel about him but about understanding his comment and the implication thereof.

Should you feel you are ready to debate this subject intellectually devoid of juvenile shenanigans, I will be more than happy to indulge you..

Alusi Okija does not need to edit anything to prove anything.. The onus is now on you to prove that I edited the dictionary definition of estate to suit my purpose..

Secondly, I couldnt make sense of your post as the entire definitions of Estate still referred to ones financial status and never once suggested moral prowess of the lack thereof.

Please take some time to go back and may be either re-read the definitions of 'ESTATE' to see the meaning or re-structure your response so as to properly convey the message you are trying to pass across as the message is lost on me..

Like are you fhucking kidding me?!

Like are you even serious right now?!

Like how old are you?!

Whats your comprehension level?!!

I just spelt out the dictionary meanings and uses of the word "THE" and even gave you examples and you still wrote that you are right?!

Okay, please tell me which other use of THE supports whatever right you are laying claim to?!!

Nna na wah o!!

Like Nairaland is filled with surprising characters..
You know where you can see Bakare if u are angry with him. Stop crying like baby here. You have right to disagree with Bakare Mr intellectual, the same way I have right to praise his name if his message make meaning to me. I am not one of the people who is blind folded by ethnic sentiment. If it is because of Bakare statement you are crying up and down you still have long way to go becos by Sunday u will have another battle to fight. We don't know u exist here and we don't care if you are crying.

Okay, thank you, I can now see the different. This mean that Mr president add nother level to the standard. I can see the reason why my friends are getting angry. Infact we need to cut this man head.

Okija_juju: Again sir...

YOU ARE DEVIATING...

I dont care about the poor background of any other person. Thats irrelevant in this matter.

This Thread is about the statement which was made by Tunde Bakare implying that Men of Low Estate are unfit to be president because they are Inferior.

Focus...
If Bakare is getting you angry like this on nairaland, I will suggest that you go to his church on Sunday and call him a liar to his face. Or in alternative you can assemble ppl to tour every street in Lagos to expose the lies of Bakare. If that is what you think Bakare mean you are entitle to your opinion. Bakare statement is clear enough to me to understand that his stone is targeted at the shoeless man. If tribal sentiment blind us from interpreting very straight forward message I think there is problem somewhere.

BAKARE HAS DEPARTED FROM HIS CALLING AND IS NOW A SHADOW OF HIS FORMER SELF.
This was the part that interest me most. We will soon know who is a shadow of himself btw Joe and Bakare. Most of the rulers of yesterdays are today shadow of themself. Uncle Joe will soon become history, Bakare raised his voice during Abacha, Abdul Salam, OBJ and Yaradu. The friends of these people said what u are saying today. Thank God his voice is louder today that is evidence that God never shame those who are saying the truth.
Christianity EtcRe: Bakare: Only Rich Men Should Rule by LFJ: 4:34pm On Aug 07, 2012
Okija_juju: An entire rebuttal and you picked the last line and only came up with this?!

Your pastor just mocked the humble background of the president and poor peoples in general and this is all you could write?! Is this thread about the million more Nigerians who are bitter or are we talking about the message of hate, pride, arrogance and bitterness that was preached from the altar of God by a man who is supposed to be bringing the message of salvation in Christ Jesus to christians?!!

I dont care if this was said by Bakare under the Save Nigeria Group, but this is what he preaches from the altar almost every blessed Sunday since he lost the elections to Jonathan.

Nwokem, dont digress.. I am not here for juvenile banter.. Lets face the subject of this thread and address it..

Even Jesus, who lived in a time when Isreal was under Roman tyranny never once spoke such foolishness against the Roman government..

The number of you supposed Christians would will be surprised to find yourselves in hell would be so many, people like us would have to wait for eternity to get in..
Sorry, I don't know that my post mock Mr president. Thank you for this information. For yor information, there is nothing special about Mr Jonathan humble begining, Shagari started his carrer as a teacher. Awolowo was from poor family, infact 75% of former Nigeria president had similar background. So what is special about I had a shoeless background.

If Bakare is not a man of God, you have the chance to declare him the deputy of Satan. In case you don't know there are millions of Nigerians who are more bitter than Bakare, if they have the chance to say something what you are hearing from Bakare is just small.

TravelRe: Nigerians In Diaspora - Is It Really Still Rosy Out There? by LFJ: 12:57am On Aug 07, 2012
pDude: Hmmmm. I'm not too sure about that o, considering a nearby city: San Bernadino just filed for bankrupcy. Also being black and African isn't really working for us sometimes. Let me give you an example. Some weeks ago, I got called for an interview for a pharmaceutical company. The person that called me was the recruiter in Ohio. He referred me to the California office and told me to meet with 3 people. All 3 people had Latin American names. As soon as I reported to the office, the main question I was asked was, "are you Joseph?" Well, I finished my interview and as I was on my way out, a Mexican looking guy was in the waiting room. I said hi to him and asked if he was Joseph. He said yes. Needless to say, I got a mail the next day telling me that I didn't get the job.

It seemed that those Mexican recruiters had already planned to take the Joseph guy even before they had met us maybe because he had a Mexican name. Well, why would the interviewer ask me if my name was Joseph first before interviewing me?

US nor easy but as a hustling Nigerian who has gone through thick and thin, I believe you can make it if you put your mind to it.
I believe at the right time your luck too will smile. When you have opportunity for interview, let us remember that, that is just a step, many people will be invited and mostly one luckiest person will be selected. What I noticed from most of our brothers and sisters is that we prefer short cut. If you rely on your Nigeria certificate to gain a professional job in US, it may not be easy because most of the recruiters or employers of labor don't trust our certificate. There is no doubt that the initial stage is always tough, but if you can try and forget who you are back home and face the reality in your new home the sky is the limit.
TravelRe: Nigerians In Diaspora - Is It Really Still Rosy Out There? by LFJ: 12:06am On Aug 07, 2012
pDude: It is not rosy in this US economy o! The economy is very bad coupled with the illegal immigrant issues. Mexicans are more liable to get a good job before an African, even if they are illegal.

It isn't rosy at all o.
I think Economy is getting better; the worst was between 2008 and 2011. There is no part of the world that things are automatic. Things may not be rosy, but it is not too bad especially for the legal immigrant.
