Ilegal acts are those activities that are against the laws of the land like drug trafficking , cyber fraud, smuggling human trafficking etc..while moral acts are those that speak to our conscience as humans ..i.e ritual killings ,rape, child molestation ...

Oh before I forget ..tribal bullying and name checking by nairalanders that know themselves ...

In all every act still bounces back to morals..except the individual does not have a conscience .

Governor Kayode Fayemi has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to turn NYSC camps into security training grounds to recruit “willing and able” graduates to join the military and the police.
Mr Fayemi pointed out that one of the cheapest and fastest ways to handle this was to amend the law setting up the National Youth Service Corps. If NYSC ‘corpers’ are converted into soldiers, they could be deployed to fight against Boko Haram terrorists, bandits, separatists and so on

Sad Story of a Lagos Highbrow Area With No Portable Water.
By Naijassador -September 11, 2021057

It was a cloudy Tuesday morning as Praise Akerele engaged in a shouting match with a roving water seller who appeared wearied from the water truck he had been pushing as early as 5am.
Akerele who was noticeably angered and running late to work shouted at the water seller identified as Bala for delaying before bringing her water in four jerry cans.

She wasn’t the only one in need of water; it’s the routine episode in the neighbourhood and residents, especially workers, try to store water before leaving for work.

“Bala, Bala, bring me water here,” echoed occupants in apartments close to Akerele’s while the water seller struggled to meet the demands with the water-filled kegs in the truck.

Akerele, who works with a telecommunications company in Victoria Island, said she relocated to her area due to traffic and stress of commuting to work on a daily basis.

She said, “I used to live at Mowe in Ogun State before I got the job and after a few months of coping with traffic and stress of going to and from work, I decided to end the misery by getting an accommodation in Lekki.”

She said that she had thought life had started fully on a good note upon joining the league of residents in highbrow Lekki without knowing that the water issue was a challenge.

She narrated her daily ordeal as our correspondent assisted in carrying some of the kegs of water to her self- contained apartment located at a popular street on Jakande Roundabout, Lekki, Lagos.

Lack amid abundance

It was a self-contained apartment painted white with a modern wardrobe occupying one side and a mattress on the other side of the room. The other door leads to a kitchen while a bathroom overlooks the kitchen. The room is neatly tiled with every item well-arranged.

As she continued to dress for work, she narrated, “I got this apartment about a year and seven months ago for N500, 000 annually. I would get half the price in some other parts of the state.”

She added that when she thought she had settled down conveniently and things were getting better for her that she discovered she was in dire straits.

Akerele took our correspondent to the kitchen where she opened the tap and muddy coloured water gushed out of it in a reckless force.

She said, “When I saw the brown water, I thought I could use antiseptic soaps and liquid. But I didn’t know that it was ineffective till I developed skin allergy. It was so bad that I had to visit the hospital and was on medications. It was after that skin issue that I started buying water to bathe. Before then, I couldn’t even cook with the water; I used to cook with sachet water popularly known as pure water. Sometimes I use table water. After I had an allergy, I started to bathe with table water.”

Akerele stated further that her expenses on water mounted until she sought alternatives from itinerant water sellers who usually fetch water for neighbours in her compound.

She added, “It was until my neighbours told me that there are people who help to fetch water in the neighbourhood that the expenses reduced a bit. The mei ruwa (water seller) that helps us to fetch water often charges extra for carrying it upstairs. One would think living in Lekki means that life is stress free but the lack of water has made life difficult.

“Even at that I still spend about N10, 000 on water every month. The water problem is a big issue on the Island, but that of Lekki is much more common. Although some houses have boreholes, many Lekki landlords don’t go the extra mile to make potable water available.”

Like Akerele, Ann Odun who lives around Chevron Drive Lekki has also been battling lack of potable water.

Odun said she relocated to the axis when she got a well paying job and tried to avoid stress as much as possible. She noted that she lately realised that there were other ways staying in Lekki could stress out the residents. One of such is the fact that she was faced with dealing with lack of potable water.

She said, “I think Lekki money stays in Lekki. There are usually a lot of bills to pay when one adds the problem of lack of potable water to the mix. It’s difficult to save. I never knew about the water issue in Lekki until I moved there. I would have thought that it occurs only in low areas and maybe some extremely poor neighbourhoods. I never knew such a thing awaited me. When I saw the coloured water when I first moved into the house, I thought it was due to a dirty tank. I didn’t know the water was from the borehole.”

According to the World Health Organisation, one in three people do not have access to safe drinking water. It also states that some 2.2 billion people around the world do not have safely managed drinking water services.

Also an Associate Director of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, Kelly Ann Naylor, stated that access to water was not enough, noting that if the water wasn’t clean, it wasn’t safe to drink.

Similarly, a survey conducted by Nigeria’s Bureau of Statistics and UNICEF shows that millions of households in Nigeria do not have access to clean water sources. While the supply of clean water in Nigeria has improved recently, three in 10 people still lack access.

According to aid agencies, 60 million Nigerians, or 33 per cent of the population, do not have access to clean water.

Residents of Lekki, though live in the affluent area of Lagos State, are part of this estimated population of people who do not have access to clean water.

More residents decry cost of potable water

Odun said that she spent about N20, 000 monthly on water. She said, “When the mallams bring the water, they charge extra to carry the keg of water upstairs.’’

Another resident, Mr Charles Uduak, said people see those living in Lekki as rich Lagosians.

Uduak stated, “People see us as being rich staying in Lekki. But the stress we go through to get clean water to drink and cook is not easy. The sad thing is that despite the fact that people have complained many times, the government isn’t doing anything about it. Instead, people have developed coping mechanisms to get clean water. If I open my tap water, you’d be surprised to see the water from it. It’s really terrible, and we do nothing with the water.”

Uduak further said that the public water that was supposed to be an alternative to the water from the water board was lacking in Lekki.

He said, “The water is really bad. I think there is an issue with the topography of the place. Whenever one digs the regular borehole, it produces dirty water and many of the house owners do not want to pay for a borehole to further dig the ground. My landlord left Nigeria for overseas three years ago. We just pay tenancy money into his account and he has an agent that supervises the house. The water has been that way since we moved in. I pay for the water services to fill my tank every week. I have an extra tank outside that they fill every week. That’s the least we could do. That’s about N8, 000 every week aside from other expenses.”

Another resident, Mrs Sade Awoniyi, laughed heartily when our correspondent asked about the water situation in her house. She told our correspondent that when she recently moved into where she lives, she opened the tap which gushed out brownish water.

Awoniyi stated, “I asked my neighbours what was going on and they told me it was the situation they had been coping with before I moved in. At first, I thought it was something I could treat alone in my apartment. I tried many things to clear the water. I bought alum, water guard and other things but nothing changed.

“I tried to use the roving water seller but I am not even sure of how clean their water is. Some greenish particles come out of the kegs as they pour the water into my drum. I don’t know the source of the water. When I was tired of it all, I got connected to a water tanker firm that supplies me water.”

The Awes who occupy a five-bedroom apartment in Lekki Phase 1 said the issue of bad water was a general one on the Island because they had similar issues when they were living in Lekki

I have sincerely tried to avoid Mrs Enahoro so as not to be floored by her seductive eyes but she seems to be able to read my mind. I told myself over and over again that I would have nothing to do with her for any reason whatsoever. Believe me, she is the epitome of beauty however, I no want wahala.

In the few months they had been around, I noticed that she was always home and never went to work. I also noticed that her husband most times kept late nights. He is also a heavy drinker who sometimes comes home drunk. A few times I heard them argue but wetin concern agbero with overload? There was a particular morning when he came home around 1 am. She had locked the door so he couldn’t enter, and she swore not to open it.

He so banged the door that I had to come out to plead with her to open because bros was too wasted to even talk. There were several shouts and increased voice levels between them.

There was this morning I needed to get something from my car, so I dashed downstairs. There she was cleaning her car. I greeted her and she responded. After I got what I needed, I decided to help her.

This was when I asked for trouble………
We chatted the whole time I cleaned her car.

We just talked generally here and there. Life, family, and all. She also told me some personal things and about how she was enduring a lot. How her hubby is such a jerk, how uncaring and irresponsible he is. She told me of how she had aborted for him during courtship so much that she can no longer bear her kids. She told me about how he impregnated his friend’s sister and now she has 2 kids for him. She even told me she no longer enjoys sex with him. On hearing that, I swallowed some saliva and wondered why she was telling me all this. She stopped working because one of her bosses wanted to have a relationship with her but she refused and he, in turn, refused her promotion and swore she will never make headway on the job even though she was diligent at it.

She eventually threw in the towel when her subordinate, who decided to play ball, was made her boss. Her husband had no issues with her resignation. She wanted to start a boutique but decided to take her time. When I checked my time, I realized we had chatted for almost 2 hrs. I must admit it was fun.

She then begged me to help her carry the bag of rice she had in her trunk to the house. Well, without thinking, I loaded the heavy bag on my shoulder and marched upstairs with her in tow. When I got to the door, she quickly came to the front to open the door. While trying to move for her, my right arm gently brushed across her br*asts…..

My God ….they were soft. I felt my heart skipping a beat. She then opened the door and walked in front of me. I couldn’t but notice her swerving hips swinging from left to right. Her well-rounded buttocks were doing a good job on me. I did not know when she turned and pointed to the kitchen for me to drop the bag of rice.

I could feel my bulge, but I thought it was nothing. She noticed I was sweating so she advised me to sit down, have a drink and cool off. Well, nothing bad with a drink I thought.

While she was in the kitchen, I adjusted myself and sat down. She then came back with a bottle of fruit juice and two glass cups. I pulled the stool beside me for the glasses to be placed on. As she bent down to pour the drink, I became organically disoriented.

Remember those br*asts I earlier said were personally grafted by God? Yes, they were. I practically saw them dangling in front of me, screaming my name for help! As she poured the drink into the glasses and moved from side to side, her very ripe melons were singing Simi’s running to you.

My chairman down there was about to start dancing too when she stood straight, looked at me, and said, ‘John, please don’t be shy. You are not a stranger’.

Shy ke? If only she knew.
She sat down beside me and started to sip her drink while I pretended to do the same. She then asked me to tell her about myself, which I did. As we were talking, she looked at me straight in the eyes. I pretended I did not notice so I just continued to talk. Suddenly, she pulled me towards her and started to kiss me. I was quite surprised but as some class of Lagos boys, I responded.

Some Lagos boys no dey even see when woman give them floodlight talkless of greenlight .

Good morning op

Pls state all ur questions underneath so it get answered by people who reside or work in badagry ..

You are bringing up more questions from people's response ..

Let me answer the questions u have posted so far ..

People commute to the island/ mainland for work using road or ferry..

Some people also commute to Badagry using same means of transportation stated above to work in there.

Badagry got it's fair share of civil servants and professionals that go to work daily on Lagos island/ mainland same as Sango , Ibadan, Ijebu ode , Sagamu , Abeokuta, Ikorodu...

People visit the slave museum especially during holidays and weekends ..

The road might be a limiting factor for now but I know of individuals that have visited it more than once ...

Badagry is known for coconut and fishing plus it's infamous smuggling activities.

It's a boarder town with porous boarders due to corruption..

Smugglers use land and sea to smuggle contrabands into the country ...

Building of a port wouid sit well with the people as it wouid create employment
and business opportunitiess for the people .....

Badagry as a town with it's rich history lacks Federal government projects that make meaningful impact to the people ..

Badagry is blessed with good public schools ..I attended Badagry Grammar school as a boarder it was a mixed school with day and boarding students .

I don't know why the state government ddecided to make it a boarding school only ..

That decision does not sit well with with the inhabitants ....

It's a lovely place to spend the weekend if the road is in perfect condition ..I love whispering palms .

Business › Re: How Much Can Set Up A Standard Men’s Boutique In Ikeja? by lifenajeje(m): 3:27pm On Aug 25, 2021
Hi

To be realistic 6 million won't be enough especially if the rented space have to be redesigned to soothe ur standard ..

Budgeting 6m means ur target market are those who are ready to spend money on clothing's for you to break even and make profit with time ..

For this kind of business u definately won't be using a single standard shop space but double space shops..

Rent would go btw 800k to 1.5 million but I wouid say keep 2m..

U might find somewhere u love but it's not up to ur budget that is y I have asked u to budget 2m..

If the rent falls lower then better for you ..

Budget 2 million for ur interiors

Bros no shout say i say 2 million ..

The rising cost of materials no be here

The bulk would go to the wood partitioning , Glass display, partition and showcase .. wall papers , paint or 3d design.. electricity.

I.e Glass u can get a quote by 7 am for it and by 12 noon u decide to make transfer to the seller you wouid hear

Oga glass don add money ..

Same thing appiies for wood MBF or HCF depending on the type u wish to use ..

Electricity is gonna take up much .
This one wey one wey one coil from Coleman cables is now 9k don't know the lighting design u might use but u need lots of light to illuminate ur boutique.

The electrical fittings too come to mind .

someone mentioned u can get 40 mannequins at 200k
Don't know if the person is an importer oh

Even locally manufactured ones sell above 10k

The ones a client used for his boutique ranges from 28k

Mannequins are of different types and prices vary..

The Remaining 2ilion should be budgeted for clothes shoes and other stuffs

Annoying thing is when u come back from the market and u try to display the arrange the items u might get discourage that u spent that amount but ur boutique is not full..

Pls don't be discourage .

If u have more money go back to the market but if not this is what u wouid do ..

Let's say u got a double shop seal up one to the public and fill up the single shop ..

The other shop would be like work in progress ..this makes ur shop look Fuller in public eyes instead of displaying scanty items in the double space ..

When u have the funds u can open up the other having restocked properly ..

Now to save money I wouid advice u to ask for quote from three vendors

Go to the market and buy the wood and accessories ,, glass , aluminium and electrical fittings yourself ..

Believe me u wouid save a lot of u procure the items urself ..

Use social media to Target sales around u ....

I hope this helps ..

Literature › My New Neighbor’s Wife By Naijassador .....update 1 by lifenajeje(op):
I am John, a regular Lagos guy. I live on the Island, Lekki to be precise. I live in a block of 6 flats with me on the second floor. I live with my uncle, whose family is in the U.K. My Uncle himself is hardly ever around, always going on one business trip or the other. So, I can safely say I live alone.

The flat (apartment) directly opposite ours (on the second floor) has been empty for a while. The family that used to live there moved out some six months ago. This makes staying at home all boring as I do not have neighbors except I decide to go down the stairs (which I hate to do except I am going somewhere). I recently just finished NYSC and am currently at home, so I have very few things to do. I am not the outgoing type, so I rarely hang out with ‘the boys’.

I was at home one day, watching football when I suddenly heard some people talking outside my door. I took a peek through the hole on the door and I saw Mr Nosa , the agent with a couple. Finally, I muttered, someone is interested in the apartment. I just hope they won’t be as noisy as the last occupants. They were quite a handful. I decided to say hello to the soon-to-be neighbors, so I stepped out. On getting outside, I saw this couple. Even though I said hello to three of them, I couldn’t take my eyes off the woman. She was in one word……. Dashing. She is about 5 feet 5 inches tall, medium build with angelic curves. She is well endowed and well put together. Brown eyes with long black hair. Her well-toned skin looks so soft and evenly balanced. She looks like something out of a TV commercial. I couldn’t resist starring at her boobs. The cleavage was well grafted by God.

SUDDENLY, I CAME TO MY SENSES THAT I WAS STRIPPING ANOTHER MAN’S WIFE NAKED WITH MY EYES . FORTUNATELY, HER HUSBAND WAS BUSY DISCUSSING TERMS AND CONDITIONS WITH MR NOSA.

Our eyes met, she smiled and looked away. She later introduced herself as Mrs Enahoro. She extended her hand for a shake I quickly grabbed it because I thought that would be the only opportunity to feel her and probably the closest I would get to her. Hmmm……. how wrong I was.

I won’t call myself a womanizer, but Mrs Enahoro is too beautiful to be ignored. I felt her husband couldn’t have asked God for a more beautiful wife.

Anyway, exactly one week after, they moved in……….and this was the beginning of my ordeal

Nollywood actor, Timini Egbuson, has responded to the dragging he received after his ex called him out for being a predator.
The drama started when the self-proclaimed bad boy tweeted that he is no longer interested in getting to know people.

A tweep then quoted his tweet and wrote, “At least 19-21 year olds will rest”.

His ex-girlfriend, Lydia further quoted the tweet and wrote, “17“.

A series of tweets followed in which she labelled the actor a predator, a “cradle snatcher and an all round terrible person.”

She included in the Twitter thread that Timini slut-shamed her and told her to go kill herself despite knowing that she was suicidal.

The Twitter thread immediately caught the attention of netizens who began to share their opinions on the actor’s alleged preference for ladies in their late teens to early twenties.

Responding to the allegations on Tuesday night in a social media statement, Timini wrote:

Literature › Story Of The Day: Our Whole Life We Disregarded Our Younger Son, And He Found A by lifenajeje(op): 8:03am On Aug 18, 2021
Our younger son was an unwelcomed surprise, and we didn’t give him as much love as we did our older boy. But we learned a harsh lesson many years later

You can’t be pregnant! Chelsea, we already have a child. I don’t want another one!” my husband bellowed.

“I’m so sorry, Samuel. I don’t know how this happened. It’s a huge surprise to me too,” I answered.

“We can’t afford another kid, so go to the doctor and get rid of it,” he told me. I agreed readily. One child was more than enough for our family, and our son, Tyler, was perfect.

“I’m sorry, Mrs. Mercer. It’s just too late to terminate your pregnancy,” the doctor informed me.

“You have to do something! We don’t want this baby. Please help me,” I begged.

“Mrs. Mercer. I can talk you through some options, but termination is not legal at this point. Your pregnancy is too far advanced,” the doctor continued. I listened to his options, but none of them were convincing enough.
