Oil dey your head. Even the judge codedly said that it could have been a passion killing but it wasn't when he said, " except the situation is such that it is sudden and leading to a heating of passion. ". He would have gotten away if he had caught them in the act and did it alone.
You know many Nigerians, don't read and those that do,many still have compression problem....it's as clear as daylight and you don't even need a lawyer to interpret that for you......I learnt this several years back even before I ever dreamt of getting married that you can get killed if you are caught with a married woman and the husband can walk away free.

It was premeditated. He had been issuing threats before. And he equally murdered the man with the help of his friends. There was no even evidence of his claim. No judge would rule otherwise

Provocation does not mean you will walk away freely, you may not just be put to death.

Even manslaughter, which killing someone by mistake, will not get you to walk freely. You may only bargain reduced sentence.
Read the story again....second to the last paragraph, even the honourable judge gave a latent reason for justification of what he did....I had known this several years back when I was much younger...let me help u here

Why will he strike them both? What justifice him striking them,if someone strike your sister to death because she cheated how will you feel? Breaking up whatever is best,As if he has never cheated too
Why should my sister commit adultery....if she wants somebody else, honourably quit the relationship you are in.

If you or anyone u know enjoy going after married women.....just to let you know,it can lead to death and the killer can walk away free....just so you know
Crime › Re: Ekiti Man To Die By Hanging For Killing Wife’s Accused Lover by Lithiumite: 6:01am On Mar 22, 2024
That's why men should never allow women matters stay too long in their heads....if she is cheating, why not walk away....their are a thousand and one more other ladies out there that needs you.

She has even helped your situation by ending your burden on her,she wouldn't be your responsibility anymore .....some men are just way too foolish.

The reason he was jailed was that the murder was premeditated.....if he had been patient enough to plan a way to catch them in the act and he then strikes the man or both to death immediately he catches them,he has a 99% chance of walking away free.

Can someone slap the wig off this horse-faced WHOORE?

Imagine asking men to raise a BASTARD that is essentially a BILLBOARD telling the whole world that your wife not only got diccked down by a strange man but also made you pamper for 9 months while carrying the spawn of said man.

Let's not talk about the boatload of money it costs to raise a child.

Men, listen to this:

Your cheating wife is free to have her ass slapped like a little bitch. But you don't have to suffer the constant slap on the face that is the child of an affair.

The moment you discover a paternity fraud, chase the woman and her child away. If you want a charity case, make your way to an orphanage.

In fact, ALL men should do a DNA test before naming ceremony even if they are married to Virgin Mary.

Also, can someone please slap the wig off this horse-faced WHOORE?
Some situations are far more complicated than you think....there are so many men who are eating breakfast hot hot everyday but cannot open their mouth to tell anyone.

The Red Wedding comes to mind.

Their representative should be invited and buttered like toast bread with promises of amnesty, scholarships and sponsorships. In fact, promise to throw an event to celebrate the dawn of peace.

But every bandit in the gang must be present at the ceremony to receive their share of the dividends of the peace treaty.

Then have them surrounded and gunned down at the ceremony.
I would seek a more drastic approach to kidnapping in this country. Special squads should be established among the security agencies which would be elite and all their operations classified.

Direct fire should be opened on the kidnappers locations even with the hostages still with them, yes there will be collateral damage as the victims too would loose their lives......govt should then compensate the direct families of the victims with that same amount the bandits were requesting.

If this happens a few times,a kidnaper would know he isn't getting anything from kidnapping but death as govt would never negotiate.....banditry would end in no time.

With the butter and cheese approach to this mayhem especially in the north,it's becoming an industry that even the locals are actively involved.

Do you know that if Government was getting 360 to 460 naira for every one dollar earned during Buhari administration, Government is now getting N1500 to N1600 in every one dollar revenue that comes to the federation, and this is at the detriment of the majority of the people, especially the fixed income earners.
The naira value you are exchanging for the dollars isn't a profit for the govt....intact the higher the cost of the dollar for the people, the bigger the problem for the govt .....that's even why govt is saying they cannot continue to subsidise it for those who need it,the way subsidy was removed on petrol is also what happened with the dollar

Exactly or peg it to N1000. Working poor are hangry.. Middle class are hungry and savings eroded. The rich have seen their net worth evaporated. They mega wealthy have lost over 70% of their net worth… so cumulatively in formal and informal sectors, over $100bn has been lost due to Naira floating and subsidy removal… How much have saved? Net zero
Dollar rates are based on demand and supply not govt fiat...if govt fixes a price, they then need to defend it with more naira thereby using scarce resources that should be used for providing critical infrastructure to subsidise dollars for the rich.....poor man noh dey use dollar o.
Where do you want tinubu to get the dollar from to satisfy the humongous appetite of Nigerians....I have stopped a lot of things that I can do without because of high cost so also people should leave dollars alone and seek alternatives if they can.....imagine someone looking for dollars despite the high cost to import meaningless things like bone straight hair or furniture or even tokunbo cars.

Didn't say so.

Let's be clear. Some nitwits are attempting to blame the victims for this. They don't know anything.

The blame for this sits in the citadels of power. It's nothing new.

I cited the French Revolution. Yes all sorts of people died in stages. But you see the fundamental cause? It was pure naked hunger. That's what I am saying. Caused by a rapacious elite.

And any government that instigates hunger deliberately is playing with fire.

There is only so far you can push even a mouse.

Some of you don't sound like you know just how rapaciously this country has been raped.
What happened prior the French Revolution is nothing compared to what we have now....where are the clear cut class difference in Nigeria.....the homeless man envies the one with a flat while that one is envying that with a house while that with a house is angry at that with a mansion and vice versa..... except you didn't experience end Sars firsthand.who suffered? Was it the politicians,or the upper class,it was those down under that suffered the most businesses owned by fellow struggling compatriots. To what end?

A revolution doesn't have to be violent, Niger will evolve with time,it took America and the rest of the developed world hundreds of years to get where they are..... Nigeria is being held back by both internal and externalforces and our problems very complex.

if they can track every dollar, why can't they track round tripping? all that is needed is to pay to credit card for BTA and other invisible items and monitor the spending. and track importers via form M.

All government wanted to do is to make more money out of the Nigerians and it is working but for how long can the citizens endure the accompanying hardship?
What money are you talking about govt making from this Forex lacuna we are all experiencing,I am really at a loss on this.....on your solution to effectively manage our Forex, we will get there gradually.

Listen, lemme educate you a little, a responsible government should have floated the exchange rate, they would have place more items that have local alternatives on ban but Tinubu lifted all the items formerly placed on ban for forex access by the previous administration so that they can buy directly from the government so that government can make more money from the expected increase in demand for forex forgetting that importation of pharmaceutical, agricultural and essential goods used to benefit from the direct access of forex from the IE windows.
There are many ways to checkmate round tripping but instead of doing it, they chose to punish the citizens.
The government is simply incompetent
I agree with you in part, however the unbanning of those 43 items was appropriate in that it would reduce the demand from parallel market and everyone could rely on official sources....on checkmating round tripping,it's not easy for any govt to do....u are talking about institutional corruption even the almighty America hasn't been able to stop drug trade or even smuggling despite their huge resources.

I even opine that the govt hasn't been drastic enough on the racketeers but are using subtle ways to by providing liquidity in the official space through banks and registered BDCs and track every dollar.

There isn't any easy way out of this,if the country seeks to change serious shocks will have to happen in the polity

A good coach knows the strength of his team, you can't play an attacking football when you don't have a good team for that. floating our currency gave room for such manipulation. We don't have enough economic indices to check the excesses of the speculators and likely currency manipulators.
There are times when coaches need to do what's expedient......Nigeria was already tethering on the brink of collapse, there is no more money to continue to pay subsidies and also defend the naira.....what was going on in the fx space was brazen exploitation making the country haemorrhage terribly.

What happened after the currency float was expected and was normal and could happen in any economy,it's for the govt to stand upto it and manage the system properly before it goes burst which I think they are doing though painstakingly.

We were lucky we had a free economy though tethering we escaped the faith of Venezuela.....it could and can still be worse!!

That is not what I asked you.

1. What are those reformation policies?

2. According to you "
The high dollar rates we are seeing is just the after shock of the reformation policies of this govt" .

At the same time you claim that the same dollar rate "was purely artificial and bourne by speculators".

How can both be the reasons for the high rate of dollar?

3. What is the economic reality?
Floating the naira is a major but just one of the policies...... Nigeria at the moment doesn't have the resources to continue to defend the naira thereby leading to removal of subsidy on the dollar.
Cancelling the wide gap between the official and largely informal parallel market thereby removing the dysfunctional arbitrage in that space

Economic reality is you and I refusing to buy the dollar or import at the present high rates thereby enabling us seek substitutes....all those people buying those dollars are just dumping the naira and going to store the dollars in other places which is pure economic sabotage.
