“From all indications, it appears that there is a massive conspiracy against the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria here in Lome, the venue of WAFU B U 17 tournament. This has always been the case but Nigerians generally don’t seem to know this or are in denial of it because of our culture of Africanism. Much of the demonizing of Nigeria in the media now is no longer from predominantly European white sources but from black African sources both on the continent and as part of European/western media (meaning Africans working or employed by these media organizations. I used to be a fanatical Afrocentric but as I have grown up and learned better that blacks/Africans are not the “good guys persecuted” that I believed I’ve come to believe only in Nigeria. The sooner Nigerians learn to cooperate with other Nigerians in preference to others the better. |

He is exhibiting a national characteristic inherited from the Igbo people, which is that of plain speaking. Nigerians generally dislike sneaky individuals/attitudes. And before some of you start bridling, Nigerians inherited fearlessness from the Northerners and love of life and fashion from the Yoruba. We inherited conservatism from our obsession with religion. Nigeria like all nations does posses national characteristics, the pity of it is that some want to do away with these facts in Africa. African nations all have Macro characteristics (National) that differ from one another in addition to their internal micro characteristics (tribal)… |
Hahjascho: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CphQ6IhWFKA See what people are doing in Nigeria. Be it East, West, North or South, progress and growth. Left alone by foreign interference, Nigeria will be the greatest place in Africa. Actually, right now, I would rate only South Africa, Morroco and Algeria as possibly better. My fervent wish for those leaving Nigeria and hurling back insults at the country and people is that they never return to Nigeria. I wish they will discard their Nigerian passports and never mention Nigeria again. The work of Nigerians interested in building Nigeria will be much easier without having to deal with the consequences of the constant negative harping of such individuals. Since Nigeria is such a nightmare for them, they should seek therapy and forget Nigeria; after all, Canada has heavenly health services, including psychiatry. Be a Canadian and concentrate on Canadian issues. No nation is perfect including Canada and since cussing helps solve issues, according to some, I’m sure there are negative things about Canada for which insulting Canada daily will bring about and even better Canada. |
Second twitter responder is wrong. Choosing to remain in Nigeria isn’t dependant on affluence. I have personal experience of this. We've brought over to the Uk several distant relations that live poorly (as poor as majority that live poorly in Nigeria) and they have not liked Britain at all. They all returned. One of them had the option of marrying someone in order to remain in Uk, she too declined and returned to Nigeria. Reading articles by Nigerians complaining of Nigeria and calling Nigeria hell and giving the impression that abroad is heaven, I sometimes wonder if I’m the only Nigerian whose relatives are totally uninterested in Abroad. |
Why Do Foreigners Appreciate Nigerian Masquerades, Artifact More Than Nigerians?I could provide more indept answer but I’ve not the patience and majority wouldn’t want to read through it. The barebones answer is that individuals are inclined to appreciate art. It is in the context of art that contemporary westerners view these Nigeria tribe cultural pieces -for the most part. Contemporary Nigerians enjoy art as much as anyone. Majority of Nigerians enjoy and appreciate art. Indeed Nigerians are possibly the greatest artist in Africa. The difficulty arises since these tribal Nigerian pieces were not created as art by their originators and contemporary Nigerians do not view them as pieces of Art. From this, you may deduce that each work is tribe specific and relates to cultural beliefs and practices of the relevant tribe. For example, where a white or western audience may view as fantastic the great wooden phallus created originally by the primordial Isoko society for the purpose of insulting arrant gods, to an Igbo the same phallus may represent an unworn threat. The igbo, Isoko, Yorba, Ijaw and other tribal societies that make up Nigeria are liable to view each other's tribal works with suspicions since works such as these are recognised by each as representative of unkown cultural practices. |

IllRatherNotSay:Battery farms in some ways mirror Wetmarkets conditions from whence several types of species-hoping viruses have immerged. Besides, I was suggesting, if financially possibly, experimenting with other options such as free-range barn, in addition to the Battery set-up. Pros of Battery Farming 1. Abundant Production No young American can think of a day when there were no eggs on the shelf of the local mart. No young American can recollect a day when there was no meat in the nearest convenience store. Excluding the mad rush during Christmas or natural disasters cutting off roads and supply networks, meat and eggs and mild and other dairy or animal products are available at any hour of the day or night, across the country and even beyond where the United States exports. This degree of abundance would not have been possible without battery farming. Free range chickens for meat and hens giving eggs, cattle raised for milk or meat and other birds or animals that are widely consumed as meat have their advantages but the limitations are far too many. From unpredictable supply to lack of control while breeding and raising the animals, the world of cattle, poultry and animal husbandry in general would be highly unpredictable and uncertain had it not been for battery farming. 2. Abundant Jobs Battery farming has created hundreds and thousands of jobs. It has effectively created millions of jobs around the world. Battery farms are managed professionally. There are scientists conducting research, doctors of medicine, caretakers in various capacities, cleaners, managers and a plethora of jobs in the entire life cycle of the business. From those working in the logistics business to those working in food processing, from those at front end retail to those who strategize at boardrooms in the skyscrapers, there has been a massive growth of jobs in the food industry. 3. Economic Benefits Abundant production doesn’t just help those who are investing in battery farming. It also helps hundreds of companies to emerge with their own products made from the primary ingredient of meats, eggs or milk. Over the last forty years, innumerable companies have emerged with everything from sausages to salamis, patties to nuggets, mayonnaise to different kinds of milk products, ice creams to fresh meat, cured meat to special cuts and the impact is not limited to just those who are into food processing or selling different kinds of packaged foods. There has been a skyrocketing rise of restaurants, cafes, takeaways and specialty chains. Imagine a KFC or Burger Kings, the relatively unknown local brands and the humble diner run by a couple. All these entities are benefited due to the abundant availability of different meats, eggs and milk. From the local trucker to the remote farmer, everyone benefits from battery farming and its growth. 4. Lower Inflation Abundant supply ensures a control over the prices. The cost of meat, milk and eggs has not risen as much in the last few years as it should have. Given the fact that consumption has increased and that there is a steady growth in the population, it should have lead to inflation. But it has not. Many prices have soared in recent memory but that of meats, eggs and milk have not, certainly not to that extent. 5. Good for Science Battery farming as a concept is a product of scientific progress and it is good for science. Today, chickens and turkeys don’t die of diseases that would wipe out all the birds in a given region from time to time. Viral outbreaks, genetic diseases and lifestyle diseases of various birds, cattle and other animals have been defeated by scientists. onyechez: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nqZ3oOhd5k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEKSY5scpt8 I simply meant trying alternative to the battery farming method she uses. Here’s something from Bing Search Engine: Cons of Battery Farming: 1. Suffering of Animals There is enough evidence to prove that animals are not taken care of in battery farms. By denying animals the right to roam around freely, to be on a natural diet, to get the exercise they would naturally get and to live in an uncontrolled environment, one is essentially being cruel. 2. Health Concerns Animals that are not healthy and wouldn’t have otherwise been considered for consumption may be kept normal with medication and may be culled or processed and sold off in the markets with the consumer not knowing anything about the history of the particular source of meat. There could be health concerns as a result. 3. Not Environment Friendly Battery farming has an adverse impact on the environment. Breeding and raising a humongous number of animals in a limited space, growing plenty of food and feeding that to the animals, using enormous amounts of water and controlling the setting in a confined space don’t augur well for the environment. |
She should invest in another large barn to experiment on managing limited ranging chickens in contrast to her current null roaming ones. ![]() |
EyezofGod120:Looks fake. It’s truer to say that Nigerians are great people but the devil made his HQ in the hearts of black people to be going to these extraordinary lengths to create a false impression of Nigeria. |
If possible, sue the backside out of CNN. It’s about time Nigeria began taking International news organisations to tasks over derogatory portrayals of Nigeria. CNN is capable of defending self; they have investigative journalists and whatnot. Africans have long bemoaned the negative portrayal of Africa by these Western media organisations, I’m glad Nigeria , as usual, is leading the way. |
Bad idea. I cried and pleaded against kidnapping when Militants started it and I shall cry against this - for the record. In addition to reasons others have given for why these security outfits springing up all over Nigeria bode worst than the benefits, I’m going to add, in the case of Delta state, the presence of the now dormant Militants outfits. You want to push weapons into the hands of another group of people while you haven’t provably or demonstrably disarmed militants. In addition, every ethnic group will create their own "armed security" since Delta State is like a miniature Nigeria. I suggested once before that Central African conflict that France fed on for decades is winding down and sometimes it looks as if Nigeria is being prepared as the next feeding basket. It just seems as if the chess-like pieces are being put in place. Ordinary Nigerians need to watch these things keenly and kick back against them. One instance of the West’s grate marketing strategy is to create fear before hitting you an unpalatable cure. Sometimes it looks as if Nigerians have been sold fear of Fulani and this fear has soften you for the unpalatable remedy, which is that of these security outfits that are actually nascent warlords armies or will morph into them. The future rapists and murderers of your average man women and children. |
babzo:"Exposing his buttocks, ass or butt", is a Nigerian metaphor meaning, revealing his inner self, private issues. Someone exposing Dangote's bottocks therefore means someone dishing the dirt on Dangote... |
NGpatriot:Start with those that are not Nigerians. Nigerians have every rights to live where they choose in Nigeria. I bet if you can be rid of people from Togo, Ivory Coast, Benin Republic, Ghana, Niger etc that are in Lagos, Lagos would be so decungested some people would no longer need worrying thire misplaced-priority skulls over Nigerians of different ethnicities making thire homes in Lagos. Besides this, every reasonable Nigerian should support the sanitising of Nigeria's towns and cities. We need to move to the next stage. We can no longer exists with lawlessness at least of this type that we can handle. All states should be aiming to fix roads, crate sidewalks, clear roadsides of illigal structures or at least insists on a certain standard for illigal structures to adhere. We need to cover gutters, creat working refuse collections and do on. |
Claudiusdeux:It began in Delta State. The various militants pioneered it with the kidnapping of foreigners associated or working for the major oil companies. I remember clearly, when it began, arguing furiously against others in an Odili Net forum that supported it. Those on the Odili Net forum that supported these kidnapping of foreigners accocited with the Oil firms agreed with the sentiment of the militants that saw these kidnappings as a means of pressuring the government to provide more jobs for Delta communities and mitigate environmental degradation by same oil firms. My argument against this was that others were going to copycat the militants but for personal profit. I couldn't see how these posters on the Odili Net forum that would spend every day labeling Nigerians greedy, corrupt and selfish, how in the same breath they would disagree with me that Nigerians would turn from politically motivated kidnappings to kidnapping for personal financial gain. |
tot:Since he is Nigerian, his views are more than likely compromised by the political party he supports. Too many Nigerians have shown by their actions, that political party is more important to them than Nigeria itself. Such individuals don't care what they say or is said about Nigeria - corroborateble or made up. In thire warped imaginings, all negative news damages the opposition party, the fate of Nigeria as a consequence of any of this is inconsequential to them. |

I find that as a Nigerian visitor in many countries, I'm often asked for money by complete strangers on the streets. It's as if the assumption is that Nigerians are wealthy. However, like I've said, you cannot superimpose your experiences on others and make broad statments such as, using my own experiences, that the world sees Nigerians as wealthy. If you are treated like a scumbag when in another country, it's probably because you look like a scumbag. |
Rodrigo Duterte President of the Philippines is a criminal that needs to be dragged before human rights court at the Haig. |
Filipinos are murderers. |
Nicoswit:Don't arrogantly assume that since you're looked on like a criminal that others suffer same fate. I am Nigerian, well traveled and broadcast my Nigrianess broadly by my clothes. I have never experienced being treated like a criminal. May I suggest that you possibly look and act like a criminal and this is why you draw suspicion? |
It's likelier that they murdered him than that he was a drug gangster killed in shootout with police. Nigeria government officials relevant to resolving the issue should adopt the position that he was murdered. The Filipinos or whatever need to provide reasonable evidence to the contrary. I would urge Nigerians, always act protectively in regards to your own Nigerians against none Nigerians. Nigerians should always be innocent in our eyes when accused abroad untill evidence provide otherwise. |
Control immigration first. |
Security, social media control, effort in areas of ethnic inclusivity, more investment in railways, docs and trans state highways, tax and regulate land laws and acquisitions. |
Happy, healthy and prosperous new year to all of you. God bless Nigeria and Nigerians and may our individual god's protect the soldiers and thire families especially. |
