@davidylan, 2. Mohammad himself actively discouraged tracing his genealogy and had this to say - from Ibn Sa‘d:You are still not properly fetched about Islam. The hadith is a collection of prophet traditions. Quran is still the most authentic and undiluted source of information. Hadith is considerred sound and healthy if it's in line with Quran such is Bible; a collection of many books. What happen after Jesus almost happen after prophet Muhammad. The hypocryte almost turn false to truth by fabricating so many says of the prophets. Thus, there are hadith collectors prefarably considerred right. Also, many hadiths considerred fabricated (by anti-islam) have been disparaged by the scolars and some considerred not sound. Al-kitab Atabaqat was a collection of different stories from earlier collectors of hadith by ibn Sa'd. Ibn Sa'd was a scolars who never prove himself infallible. Such are the stories from the bible which make it a reprehensible book up till now. Thus, it's unacceptable as the total word of God. As far as Hadith is concern, apologist can come up with thier plagiarizm with no verification. Ishmael indeed settled in the desert of Paran BUT there is clear historical and geographical evidence to prove that Paran was NO WHERE near Mecca but was actually much closer to Egypt! Then, show the geographical evidence. Then I ask you a question, what happened to the child and the mother? What was the source of the water the drink afterwards. what happen to the water source and and what is hapening there now? We muslims refer the place as ZAM-ZAM. And as you said,"historical and geographical" was the place shifted or historical distortion? |
@davidylan Littleb, just a simple proof that the above nonsense you claim as a genealogy is false . . . Jacob had 12 sons not 4.Sorry for my late response. I think your question was answerred. You ask for genealogy of Muhammad and not Jacob or Abraham. I quite agree with you that Jacob had 12 sons and whatever you claim in others, I believe the author might have skipped unimportant elements in the tree to arrive at what we need, which is Muhammad. For the sake of clarity, I think the concentrating point is Muhammad which you are not clear of. Do you believe Abraham(Ibrahim) had a son Ismail which was left in the desert with her mother(Hajar) which lead to Muhammad generation. If you believe this, from your own understanding, where is this desert and what happened there. All those events play an important role in Islam. Do you have anything against that? Quran only shed light that all these prophets are brethren and they were sent with the same message (preaching blief in one God) which is complementing what was earlier revealed. David, I wish you take it upon yourself, google Muhammad genealogy from any historical book and be claer of any different with what I post. However, minor differences in the names and some skipping generation. So clear is the truth unless we don't want to accept it. Allah says in the Quran: We did aforetime send apostles before thee: of them there are some whose story We have related to thee, and some whose story We have not related to thee. It was not (possible) for any apostle to bring a sign except by the leave of Allah. but when the Command of Allah issued, the matter was decided in truth and justice, and there perished, there and then those who stood on Falsehoods. Qr 40:78 Say ye: "We believe in Allah, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) prophets from their Lord: We make no difference between one and another of them: And we bow to Allah (in Islam)." Qr 2:136 Qur'an 4:163-165 163 Lo! We inspire thee (Muhammad) as We inspired Noah and the prophets after him, as We inspired Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the tribes, and Jesus and Job and Jonah and Aaron and Solomon, and as we imparted unto David the Psalms; 164 And messengers We have mentioned unto thee before and messengers We have not mentioned unto thee; and Allah spake directly unto Moses; 165 Messengers of good cheer and off warning, in order that mankind might have no argument against Allah after the messengers. Allah was ever Mighty, Wise. We keep asking the very same question - How is it possible that a muslim can confidently speak about islam without feeling the need to hide under the skirts of christianity? And we keep on answering you there is need to clear truth from falsehood. God is not three, no son and no family. All prophets are messangers from Him, they came to preach monothiesm, believe in one God and not associating partners to Him. The truth was distorted, Jesus is not son of God or God either. He was neither slumber nor crucified. If you think all those will not be mentioned in discussion like this, you are mistaken and there is option, you either in or out. |
@davidllan, why is it imperative that the christian God must be the same as the islamic God? I don't see you haranguing the Sango worshippers on their own definition of God.Whatever your aguement in this matter, we would continue walloing in a loop as far as religious is concern. And that's is the politics of belief. As a muslim, it is very obvious Allah make us to understand, you or any other worshipers will not practice mine and I will not practice yours. Qr.109. However, muslims are oblige to call thier attention to it. Qr. 3:64. , and if they turn back, we should leave them. Moreover, not only muslims are doing this, christian also call muslims to accpet thier faith knows right that they are muslims. So, nnbody forces one to belief, every faith is making her noise. As a muslim my obligation towards christian is like a person sees another suffering from a fatal disease, and he firmly believes that he holds the cure for the disease, and he also claims to have sympathy for the human race, then how is it possible for him to intentionally turn away when called upon to provide a remedy? I believe your own maybe similar, if not stop further arguement, and let people with interest continue. the quran says you are servants, why are you trying to make it general? My bible says i'm a son and joint heirs with Christ, have you seen me trying to force it on you? This is not a matter of forcing believe, it is a presentation for those who care to know. If someone say no, with clear evidence and refuse to accept, so be it. People with better reasoning will accept. Where then is it? Can you please post this "glaring" genealogy? If you belief it, then check this. Otherwise, if your view is different, let us know. www.answering-christianity.com/family_tree.htm Jesus Christ called Himself the Son of God, bled and died on the Cross for my sins (perhaps not urs) . . . does mohammad believe this also? Then prove it, you can quote from Quran if you wish. People want to know the truth, that is why it is debatable. You either in or out. What is it with the muslim and the desperate attempt to prove the bible wrong? Is the quran not enough for their faith?Quran is enough for thier faith. Muslim will desperate to prove bible wrong, if actually it is coz people want to know the truth. Likewise, christian are desperate to prove Quran wrong. And if I may ask you, Is bible wrong or right. I know, your answer will be right. Then, prove it, are you afraid! make it a debate and welcome christian, Muslims, Jewish, Hindus, athiest e.t.c contributions. Then, leave truth seekers to judge.

@jayon, how can islam tackle terror , contribution pleaseI wish you are sincere with your question, probably you will get a better response. Check through my dictionany, if I am correct terror means violent or threat of violence carried out for political purpose. With this, it is very glaring everywhere both internationally and local. Fighting/tackling it is a sociental obligation and not only peculier to muslim or Islamic religion. As a muslim, Islam against terror in whatever form and not only nonislamic but also against humanity, whoever does it has commited a grievous sin against a divine law. Such a person, if caught should be dealt with according to the law. |
@deepzone, I've only heard of one ibo moslem and that is Abdulazeez Ude. all of them are christians even Brigadier Ike nwachuku whose mother is moslem hausa and wife moslem yoruba is still a christian. All these ibo moslems you people are claiming are totally false and inaccurate. Islam is yet to find it's feet in yorubaland(where they make up to 22% of the population), how much less iboland. Na for Nairaland sha.YOu get it wrong, I had my NYSC in eastern part of nigeria and there are central mosques and not only because of hausas. We have Ibo muslims in Owerri and Onitsha. Also, we have an elder (a chief) who is even an executive in national association of muslim welfare. And for yorubaland, it is a nonsense utering to say islam is yet to find his feet, when Islam has been in existence long time in yoruba land before missionary. |
Leave them, they will never. Even if angel should have come from God with signs, they will not. Leave them with thier delusion, clot in thier ear and wool in thier eyes. Even naturally occured, they deny it. If you still care, these are for you, dig it: http://hudabaharoon-miracles(dot)(dot)com/2005/05/allahs-name-everywhere.html http://www.miraclesofislam.com/ http://www.geocities.com/islamimiracles/miracles_of_Allah_Almighty.htm |
@davidylan, I read your conversation with olabowale, I laugh at all these jokes and absurds with diff analogies. Without doubt in mind, God quality is beyond associating a son or family to Him. If father should be use, it is should be in the context that it owns all of us in terms of provisions and protection. Due to this misinterpretation, misconception and confusion, Islam devoid of using such word to qualify God. We are all servants, in this sense: thus gives whoever He wants and deprive whoever. The genealogy of mohammad is very glaring all over the internet, and he has not come to against Jesus(Isa) teaching. Jesus, Muhammad and all other prophet came to preach the same thing; that we worship only one GOD which is supreme, not the angels or them(prophets). Thus, our own call. If we can bring proof from the books and see clearly that this is true, why cant we abide by it. People are becoming muslims all over the world, not the reason that God appear to them in dream or they are affected by miracle or because of muslims attitude, however prominently see the the truth in the words of God after serious comparision. In the earlier stage of Islam, letters were sent to nations to embrace Islam, which they do after confirming in line with previuos revelation to them. We say our God is one, no son(or children). The issue of Jesus is God/son of God has been a transformation or misconception of truth which call for debating and it should start from the books(Bible and Quran). |

Dear justcool, "If a child is killed in such natural disasters it does not mean that God kills innocent children. So many things could be the reason:Brother, there is no point engaging in unnecessary aguement if we are addressing the same issue claiming the same point but present it diff ways. Remember the title of this thread "God perfect design" and I said in my earlier post of our inperfection that we are not in total control of our life. Now look at your diffrent "maybe" in the subject of disasater cause a death to someone. Then who killed? Is it not God? and that of circumtances that will lead to it is also known to him, thus all your "maybe" 1 to 3 is hiden to humanbeing. We may see it as a negligence, but the child could still be at home sleep overnight and not wakeup again in the morning. This is a spiritual understanding which every soul should comprehend. God said, it is Him who killed and it doesn't matter whether you are aged or not. I made reference to Job in my earlier post, and this is kind of trial we are talking about. There some people who have been afflicted with different diseases, poverty or otherwise. They couldn't steadfast and seek for healing from herbalists or even abusing God that why have you done this to me. Thereby committing more sins by mere not grateful to him in their condition. I belief nobody pray for poverty or diseases. However, spritually one must have that belief, trial will surely come, doesn't matter if you worship God or not. God warn us not to disobey Him and He made reference to the like of people who disobey Him in the past, the Noha people, pharao and the likes, they were destroyed. You make reference to children suffering from AIDS also. Of what sins have the children commited. It could be a punishment to their parents or otherwise. They might not have gone through any illegal act before they contacted the virus. What God requires of us in line with spirituality when evil befall us is "from Him we came and to Him is our return". Moreso, be grateful to Him and belief such happen according to His will. That is spiritual understanding of the word CREATION. Not in terms of phillosophy of occurences. Once more, we have to clear ourself from the phrase, "had it been that". Some poeple say this to find the opposite of bad occurences. In whatever case it may be, it is never the fault of God; neither is evil ever willed by God. God is incapable of evil. The fault and the cause of evil is always with man."The evil here is occurences that happen to believers and not to unbelievers. Not someone with no spirituallity in him. A believer could have an accident, even in his own house, on his bed. Have you ever dream before that you fell down from bed. Someone narrated a funny dream to me one day. He found himself enjoying eating and drinking in the midst of people, suddenly, they were laughing out of their comfort, without knowing, he just fell from the bed and got injured. Then, the first question here is who make someone sleep? then who make him dream? then who make him fell? This is a spiritual reasoning of God creation. Ordinarily, one could have said the man sleep out of being exhausted. Thus, the thoery of pastor nwankwo. It is only the unblievers that recognise devil as the control of their affairs. There was a day, I was in a bus, I had an encounter with a lady envangelist, she wanted to preach for me. After knowing allright that I am a muslim, she asked a question; "Who control this world?" God of course. I answerred. She then argue that it is the satan(devil) that control the world. She quoted a verse from the bible. I then begin to explain, first, devil is not in control of anything cause devil act on God permission. I site the example of Job. Also, If devil, then he would have been in control of rain and the likes. However, some devilish humanbeing(ceated by God) exist. They use the favour of God wrongly, including natural resources. They don't care what happen to others. If evil befall those people, they may not remember God to bring them out. They could be more devlish in their thinking. However, the reverse is the case in terms of believer, if evil befall him. He may quickly remember that this is a God trial. Thus, have the belief that its from God. And that is the spiritual creation of God. The call to consensus is thus whatever happen to us as a believer, whether Good or bad, we should belief is from God, Almighty. Not attaching it to one thoery of occurences or circumstances. God still doing everything Perfectly as in the opening of this thread. GOD PERFECT DESIGN. All my spiritual perception is from Quran. I wish you are also quoting from Bible. Thanks. |
@maykelly, Just dont deceive anybody, you can just copy and paste information here with the hope is for people like you. Cant you subject yourself to a natural being who want to clear the truth from flasehood, analyse each subject for debate and be a good plagiarizer. People's understandings have gone far from reading your stories as if you want to write another bible. |
@m_nwankwo This doctrine of temptation was an evil principle and that separated Lucifer from the pure neutral power of God, and hence his downfall. Lucifer thus became a fallen archagel, a satan. Thus God created Lucifer the archangel but didnot create Lucifer the fallen archangel, the satan. Similarly God created human beings but God didnot create evil human beings. Lucifer and evil human beings became evil simply as a result of their free will. Lucifer the fallen archangel thus became the origin of of the evil principle. He also is the Antichrist. He acquired the name Antichrist due to his desparate struggle to prevent the redemptive mission of Jesus, the son of God.Quite right that satan(devil) was not originally his name when he was created. He bacame that through his disobidient. However, you still lack spiritual understanding in comprehending the subjet on discussion. Does that change the subject of creation. If a child disown his father, does that change his biological gene. The CREATOR who create everything, when God created each thing, He determined when it would come into existence and when it would cease to exist. He also determined its qualities and nature. And everything in the universe, the seen and the unseen, is completely subject to the overriding power of God. Nothing can happen outside His Will. A bus driver have just escaped an armed robbery attack at road junction 1. He then tells other drivers still driving to junction 1 that armed rubbers are on junction 1 and advise them to follow alternative routes. The buss driver is aware of the armed robbery at junction 1 but he didnot create the robbery incident. Some drivers follow aternative routess as advised and escaped the armed robbery attack, others ignored the advise of the driver and got robbed or even killed. To assert that the robbery incidence at junction 1, the escape of those who follwed the advice of the bus driver and the death or robbery of those who ignored the advice are the responsiblity of the bus driver, that is the will of the bus driver is inane. Yet you make the same argument with God. God created and maintains creation through his laws.Muslims believe that human beings exercise free will, but that our destiny is also known by God. They are not completely masters of their fates, nor are they puppets subject to the hazards of destiny. God gave humans limited power and great freedom, including the freedom of choice. That autonomy makes each individual accountable for his or her deeds. Just as God created nature and its laws, He made moral laws, and we cannot claim any injustice if we get punished for disobeying or ignoring those moral laws. We cannot know our future and, to a large extent, we cannot control it. But we can make decisions within the limits of what we can control, based on our understanding of the way the world works. If someone chooses to punch his fist into a brick wall, he cannot claim any injustice when it hurts. He knows that the wall exists and that it is hard. That is the reality — the 'laws of nature' he has to deal with. Yet the ultimate reality is that God could make the wall disappear just before one’s fist reaches it. Thus your analogy of bus driver here is yet to complete, the others follows another routes could still be robbed if they are destined to be robbed. He allows everything to happen base on His permission vs destiny, and He is well aware of the reason which is veiled to you. Now just provide your own evidence that God created diseases.I can now see that your own spiritual conception is "whatever is good is from God and if bad is from satan or human being". Does satan share authority with God? If devil created diseases, then he should have capacity to create mosquito that causes malaria. Your spiritual concept is relative to your perception as if human being are the one moulding their life. Have you ever wonder how Job was tested, was satan not permitted by God. If God's will satan cannot have any capacity on him. However, through steadfastness, he gain all he had lost. The concept of creation, indicates that we must belief in whatever happen as a destiny and seek harmony with God rules of human nature and nature at large, and consciously submit to His will. Destiny as conceived by Islam, does not take away our freedom of choice and action as to happen whether disease, illhealth or healthy. It is our willful choice of those actions from our inherent possibilities that are in harmony with God’s will and not satan. Satan's will is to lead you astray till eternal destruction, however is with God permission. Satan does not bring any element of creation but just a modification of God created being and not by his mighty power. |
@justcool Also God did not create diseases, neither do God use diseases to "check and balance" his creation. In all that God created, only LOVE, and JUSTICE are to be found. LOVE and JUSTICE are what God's "checks and balances." Diseases arise when man fails to take care of his body the way it is designed to be cared for, and as a result of man feeding and breathing poisons, and also as a result of mans neglect of his body, ie lack of exercise and proper hygiene. Also wrong usage of the body(ie overdevelopment of the intellect, promiscuity and etc.) is also detrimental to health. It is this failure of man over many years that allowed all the diseases on earth today to arise, including birth defects and etc.Dear Justcool, you are still not getting it. This is not the point of argument, LOVE and JUSTICE are not even created objects. They are God attributes. In Islam we say Al-Wadud(God of Love) and Al-Adl(the just) and that of creator is Al-Khaliq. No one bear such attributes saves God. If you are talking of His love, kind and just it's incomparable. Then creator, who has the capacity to create, tell me, nobody except Him. To your attention. Trials is from God which can be of any form. Can you read the story of Job and see what you can draw from it. If someone eat poison or intoxicate himself and became ill or mental disorder. It is a circumstance which God has forewarn us. Nevertheless, one circumstance will lead us to our destiny. And that's why prayer and steadfast is needed in order to pass all these tests. Have you ever seen a colapse building in which everybody in there died except an infant who does not even know how to protect himself or an accident. All these are circumstances of trails(dieases or poverty) which doesn't depends whether you know God or not, you will pass only if you are steadfast and prayerful. Above all, all these occurrences are from GOD, circumstances differ. THE CREATOR. |
m_nwankwo How can a perfect God create diseases. In your conception, god will set trials to know those who will pass. If god does that, what will satan do.Do you belief God created satan, or where did satan came from from your own understanding. Does it work on its own or with God permission? Then, tell us the attributes of satan and the power he has to create. I have already said in all my posts that misapplication of the power of God led to diseases. Ionising radiations for instance is a gradation of the power of God. In itself, these ionizaing radiations are neutral but its application by man can be good or bad. Applied properly it will lead to biomedical imaging as is evident in X-rays, CT scans etc. Apllied wrongly or overexposure it will result in cancers. I will leave out for the moment an exploration of the germ theory of diseases. We are not talking of circumstances. God is well aware of different circumstance that will lead to any event that happen to mankind, both natural and artificial. If somebody had been bitten by mosquitoes and resulted to malaria, one would be thinking in his mind if he has protected himself it wouldn't have happen. However, God wills it like that. If not, it will not occur. Bear it in your mind that it is the same God created you that created Mosquito as well providing means at wchich each satisfy his/its needs. Have you ever think of diff natural occurrences that leads to famine or diseases, earthquake, volcanic eruption, lightning et.c. All these are circmtances which God aware of. Brother, this is no theory of occurrences. Undilluted belief one needs is that God is the CREATOR, and has the name implies he creates and no one else has such attribute even satan or your demigods. If you believe in divine power and God revelations, provide proof that diseases or illhealth created by humanbeing or satan as you comprehend it. Besides hell was not created by God but was formed by misapplication of the power of God by man. Hell is therefore a human institution, not the work of God.Where is the hell located? When was it formed? Was it before man or after? |
Brother Nwanwo, the purpose of life is to pass the many many tests that we must undergo during our sojourn here on this earth. If we pass these examinations or trials, then there will be eternal rewards, but woe to us if we should fail them. Among the many possible tests, one of the examinations that we can be tested with is our health. Either good or bad is from God. Similar to this is poverty and wealth. God made us to understand It is He who is our Creator and it is He in His Perfection and Wisdom (as well as with all His other attributes) who 'runs the show'. Absolutely nothing can occur without His permission. When He, in His perfect wisdom, decrees good health for us, then we will be healthy. When He in His perfect wisdom decrees ill health for us, then we will suffer from illness. Good health is truly a wonderful blessing and we should be grateful when God decrees that for us. It is an honour. But then ill health is also a marvellous blessing. If a sick person can still remain grateful to God through the course of his or her sufferings, trials and tests of illness, and still not oppose his or her destiny and endure patiently, then there will be many rewards and recompenses for them. Their sufferings will be rewarded with spiritual honours and gifts of forgiveness. Therefore, we shouldn't be wayward about God's creations. He designs everything. |
@m_nwankwo The idea that God created diseases negates the nature of God. Diseases came into existence as a result of the fall of man, that is as a result of sinAre you telling us that God has the same nature as humanbeing? Where the diseases came from? If not God, who? Kindly provide more proofs. any ref. to back your claim? |
Thanks my brother Olabowale, May Almighty God reward you for the great works. For those who care to know, Quran clear it all. Some don't even know their existence is part of God perfect design. If He had willed it, they could have come down from the womb dead. God is acting according to His name. THE CREATOR, create whatever He likes. |
@malama, I dont mean to ague for just sake of it, however to call our attention to proper understanding of God's words. You can wear anything you like as long as you wish, but quite clears the truth from falsehood. God's laws never changed. It is a consensus that's good both of us, so we can serve him in one voice. Thanks. |
How are we sure the inscription was not artificial impressed on the meat as a marketing strategy by the restaurant owner As the result of the meat being inscribed with "Allah" on it has been purely commercial. the restuarant owner now has thousands of customers trooping to his restaurant. Or is there any religious reason on why Allah would want to inscribe his name on a piece of meat that would be eaten??Even all the following are artificial as well; 1. On the cloud 2. On the tree branch 3. On water melon 4. On apple 5. Inside tomato 6. On plant, fish, bread and so on http://hudabaharoon-miracles..com/2005/05/allahs-name-everywhere.html http://www.miraclesofislam.com/ http://www.geocities.com/islamimiracles/miracles_of_Allah_Almighty.htm |
@frenchman The professor claimed that the signs on the original version was mixed up with the syriac language, in terms of the dots and signs that came with it, which makes sense so to spaek. A dot or sign in a language could change the meaning. In yoruba language, ole and ole means differen things with the dots.Hello brother, dont be confused. Quran was not re-edited talkless of having any version. Moreso, meaning changes as you move from one language to another. the man is using syriac in order to suit his intent. The prof claimed the purported 77 virgins meant grape when the correct notation/sign is added to it.First, there no specific verse in the Quran mention 77 virgins. The word is 'HURU' meaning lovely companions. Infact, that is one of the miraculous revelation of the Quran. Allah uses the perfect word in order not to generate confusion. And if you claim grape, can one marry grape? Allah says in the garden with lovely companion that no eyes has ever seen. In another verse, lovely companion that are virgin(pure). Which is for both males and females. Don't let us be deceived my brothers, peoples mind have been polluted with all these sayings. Can't you take a copy of Quran youself and start reading. However my brother, the commentary is only referring to detail explanation and some sayings of the prophet relating to each ayat. This explanation varies among scolars, it is subjected to errors and no one amongst them ever proof himself infallible. And this is where the number of virgins came in. I beg if Islam is not clear to you, take Quran, it is muslim manual for thier daily living. |
@davidylan, why is Mohammad not predicted ONCE in the quran but you have to sift through the very bible you claim is corrupt to find prophecies of him?Dear david, your question is very clear and to every person who has read the history can quickly answer. Bible has been in existence for long before Quran. And thus Quran was reveal to Muhammad. This is quite logical, you can only have prediction in what is before your existence and not within. Quran make reference to the books before and future occurrence. Google the history of Prophet Muhammad and you shall be clearoff. What next? |
@Jagoon, So if Ibrahim is also known as Abraham, it means the God of the Jews, Muslims and Christians is one and the same person. Why all this rancour amongst us since we worship the same God?? My submission is that most of our religions have been adulterated by men, even the recorcds we have in the Torah, Quoran and the bible might also have human angles to it and that is what accounts for all this differences in our various religions.Mr Jagoon, yes, it is one God. But men adulterated the divinity . As we are of diff community, from generatnx to genextn God knows and He wills it as descr. "If Allah so willed, He would have made all of you a single community, but He lets whom He wills go astray and takes whom He wills to the right path; and surely you will be questioned about what you used to do". Qr 16:93. The claim to consensus is for all to belief in this one God and refrain from all aspects of associating partners to Him. |
@cayon I was surfing in the Islam for Muslims section and it is so quiet there that one can hear a pin drop.Yes, it is like that coz muslims serve God in one accord. There is divine procedures for each activity which is general all over the world. So, why difference opinnion since there is manual for major activities in thier religion. Muslims base thier exposition on the Quran and the minor differences occur base on the tradition of the prophet. Moreover, the true traditions are to be followed in as much as it is derived from the Holy Quran. In the Christian section, we are always ready to curse each other out for difference of opinion.Allah has forewarned muslims of this: As for those who divide their religion and break up into sects, you have no part of them in the least. Their affair is with Allah; He will in the end tell them the truth of all that they did." (6:159) "And surely this brotherhood of your is a single brotherhood, and I am your Lord and Cherisher. Therefore fear Me and no other. But people have broken their religion into sects, each group rejoicing in that which is with them. But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time." (23:52-54) "Turn back in repentance to Him, and fear Him. Establish regular prayers, and be not among those who ascribe partners to God -- those who split up their religion, and become mere sects, each party rejoicing in that which is with itself!" (30:31-32) @Jagoon I would correct you, the reason the muslim section is more quiet than the other section is because muslim youths have found other ways to express themselves like terrorism, arson, oprresive, jihadist and other militant forms of expressions. Rather than intellectual forums like the were they would not be able to contribute meaningfully because while their mates were getting properly educated in western schools, they were busy learning kewu. That's what you hear from the media. Consequently, your reasoning is reflecting the intellect in you. Scale it ursef. @davidylan The vast majority of them don't really understand the quran and have nothing besides over-used talking points they learnt fromthe ImaamPastor david, have you ever raised a question in line with Islam that we dont have proof from the Quran? We couldn't if we have not learn it proper. The average muslim has been raised NEVER to question his religion even in the face of glaring errors. Then, no discussion further. If one belief there exist errors in one's faith, then it is relevant to thier disunity and argument. |
Religious means a way of life. We need a religion because we need a perfect way of life that encompasses everything. Moreso, what Almighty God requires of us is to practice a way of life and channell all its activities towards worshiping Him alone and not associating partners to him. This perfect way of life has thus being explained in divine revelation from God and thereby explain to humanbeing from time time since day one Adam was created. One perfect way of life means total submission to His will and judgement and remember Him in wahtever one does. Worship is there for us to remember Him. And it is in this remembrance that we achieve that consciousness. Because it is when we forget God, that devil causes us to disobey God and fall into sin. This life is a test. A test for us that will we worship God, or will we forget Him. |
@malama Thanx for confirming that u are not a Christian-no wonder u were spinning a lot of 'misyarns'( u have shown with clarity that u have no knowledge of what we Christians profess and what the Law is all about)hmm hmm! I am I? Maybe I can start learning. My aplologetic belief of bluring scripturist may be clearly explained. When I write 'Law' I mean Mosaic Law.When 'law' is written,it refers to the common law as it applies to state/country etc.We Christians do not do wot we like outside the law, because a country/state/county/village/local council is governed by the law and we are to be law-abiding. As Christians,we are not under the Law because Jesus has freed us from it.Consequently, because we love God and Man,we will not kill, steal lie against one another, dress indecently etc( u don't need an angel to tell u that). God does not require us to follow the Law(it is more than the Decalogue) since He has redeemed us from itThen, you can make it open and diff btw mosaic laws and other laws. The ones you are to obey and the ones you are not. The one you cleaned with blood and others that are not. Maybe from that, I can begin to tell you my own understanding from the bible. |
@davidylan trousers. good or bad in the mosque? If you want detail answers open a new a thread and give it a separate title. Read the title to yourself! |
@rubi If one lives in USA where the temperature is sometimes negative during winter one do not have choice than to wear it.Then the intention is differ. not quoting it has been abrogated by blood of Jesus. Frankly speaking, the laws have been there since ever before Jesus and the demand on us is to obey it. We only apply wisdom to its uses and applications and not transgresses. If lady must wear trousers, then questions arises as how she wear it? of what kind? silk/wool etc., at where? does it shows her sexiest shapes and the like. above all, of what purpose, i.e intention. We should not be fooling ourself and claim it to religion proof. |
@malama Jesus did all that was required of the Law but I really can't remember Him saying that I as His daughter have to fulfill the Law.Then, if that above is confirmed, then evrybody can do whatever he/she likes out of the law. However, I quite disagree with you. In all honesty, have u been able to do all the Law says? There are 613 of them o!Where have u been doing your burnt offerings/votive offerings etc?I am sorry, I couldn't buy from that deception because I am not a christian. However, a religion shouldn't be a tool of moral degeneration rather a balanced moral prescription covering all aspect of life. Coz God law have been there to check our transgresses and quickly draw ourself back. To keep all laws is a divine battle which every soul must challenge itself insignifficant of how difficult it is. Cannot keep it doesn't mean that we should totally encourage it. When Jesus died, the curtain of the Temple was torn.Wot does that signify to u as a Christian ( I presume u are 1)?I don't buy that because I am not a christian. |
In the book of Acts, while the Church was being established (ACTS CHAP 15:1-30 ),a sect of believing Pharisees said that it was necessary to circumcise believing Gentiles and to command them to keep the Law of Moses ( v.5).This argument was the basis of the first ecumenical council in Jerusalem . The Apostles resolved that Gentiles should ', abstain from pollution of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.' ( Acts 15: 20). The Apostles realised that the Law was burdensome and even themselves Jews could not keep the Law,and that there was no point telling Gentiles to keep it.The argument is baseless since it fundamental core think tat was originated from paul. Then, all gentiles can continue fornicating and the likes. Those who advocate that women should not wear trousers usually thrive well in Nigeria, but change their minds when they come to the UK/US or any other cold country because the cold makes them have this volte-face .Because we are religious and moreso our culture does not encourages it. lo! You can prefer to go arround in US/UK unclothedness and nobody concern about it. Likewise, extensively, the likeness of such madness has gradually find its way to Nigeria. |
@malama It is true that wearing the other sex's garments is condemned in the Bible, but we have to note that it is part of the Mosaic Law.The Law was given to the Israelites and does not apply to Gentiles( you and I)What will you do with Jesus statement that he had not come to destory any law but to fulfull. please explain yourself, the mosaic law! because those who carry a placard saying 'Women should not wear trousers' are myopicMyopic as those who encourage it, including tight jeans and sexy pants, displaying all God endowment in them. The death of Jesus on the cross was to redeem us from sin and free us from the Law.Any1 who understands the message of the Cross should not put himself/herself or cause someone else to be under the Law again. Then, we can all continue to wallow in sins. Kindly explain yourself further! |
From so many claims of this man, I belief one need to have a rethink if actually he has gain anything spiritual for being an hammadist. Not even think that hamadist doesn't pray behind any other Imams and likes. However, Ghulam Hamad claimed so many things to himself that can make one be a Kafir if one beliefs in him. Moreso, some amongst the present hamadist denounce being a proper hamad follower but only bearing the names. We dont belief them, we tell them that's an act of hypocryte and insincerity. They keep the name to get support from British govt, even in Ghulam hamad books, he praises Brithis govt. more than prophet. Here are some of his claims: 1. And finally the question remains: Who is the Imam of the Age in these times, whom Allah has made it obligatory for the Muslim masses, the ascetics, and the recipients of dreams and inspirations to follow? Therefore, without fear, I now announce that through the grace and gift of God the Most High: I am the Imam of the age. And in me, God the Most High has vested all the necessary signs and conditions and has raised me at the head of this century, of which fifteen years have already elapsed. from Zaruratul Imam by Ghulam Hamad 2.Revelation from Allah: “God of great blessings, High and Pure, has exalted your dignity more than that of your family; from now on, the mention of your ancestors will be cut off and God will begin with you.” Similarly He gave me the following good news: “I shall bless you, and bless you greatly, so much so that kings shall seek blessings from your garments”. from Kitaab Al-Bariya: A brief sketch of my life by Ghulam Hamad 3.Then, when the thirteenth century came to a close and the fourteenth century was about to dawn,1 God the Most High informed me by revelation: You are the Mujaddid of this century. And there came a revelation from God: “God taught you the Quran and made known its true meanings to you, so that you may warn of bad consequences a people who fell in errors because of generations of neglect and lack of admonition, and so that manifest becomes the path of those culprits who do not want to accept the true path even after receiving the guidance. Tell them: I have been commissioned by God and I am the first of those who submit.” from Kitaab Al-Bariya: A brief sketch of my life by Ghulam Hamad 4. Jesus has died and not coming back any long. frequent in most of his books. 5. He is a reformer, received divine revelation from Allah on perfect way of praying, being mujahdid e.t.c. During his life, he was fought by many scolars on all his calims, but the man continnously claim his superiority on them all by writing books and gaining people attention with his movement plus british support being that his father had work for british before he died. My dear brothers and sisters, Islam is in totality and not mixture. There are some Hamadist amongst with very good programs catering fro welfare and the likes. We should not be deceive with all these, coz if somebody worship egungun and still perform Salat, he's still non muslim. Maa salam. |

Answers 1. What is Islam? The word "Islam" means peace and submission. Peace means to be at peace with yourself and your surroundings and submission means submission to the will of God. A broader meaning of the word "Islam" is to achieve peace by submitting to the will of God. This is a unique religion with a name which signifies a moral attitude and a way of life. Judaism takes its name from the tribe of Juda, Christianity from Jesus Christ, Buddhism from Goutam Buddha and Hinduism from Indus River. However, Muslims derive their identity from the message of Islam, rather than the person of Muhammed (P), thus should not be called "Muhammadans". 2. Who is Allah? Allah is the Arabic word for "one God". Allah is not God of Muslims only. He is God of all creations, because He is their Creator and Sustainer. 3. Who is a Muslim? The word "Muslim" means one who submits to the will of God. This is done by declaring that "there is no god except one God and Muhammad is the messenger of God." In a broader sense, anyone who willingly submits to the will of God is a Muslim. Thus, all the prophets preceding the prophet Muhammad are considered Muslims. The Quran specifically mentions Abraham who lived long before Moses and Christ that, "he was not a Jew or a Christian but a Muslim," because, he had submitted to the will of God. Thus there are Muslims who are not submitting at all to the will of God and there are Muslims who are doing their best to live an Islamic life. One cannot judge Islam by looking at those individuals who have a Muslim name but in their actions, they are not living or behaving as Muslims. The extent of being a Muslim can be according to the degree to which one is submitting to the will of God, in his beliefs and his actions. 4. Who was Muhammad? (P) In brief, Muhammad (Peace be upon him) was born in a noble tribe of Mecca in Arabia in the year 570 AD. His ancestry goes back to Prophet Ishmael (P), son of Prophet Abraham (P). His father died before his birth and his mother died when he was six. He did not attend a formal school since he was raised first by a nurse as it was the custom those days, and then by his grandfather and uncle. As a young man, he was known as a righteous person who used to meditate in a cave. At age 40, he was given the prophethood when the angel, Gabriel, appeared in the cave. Subsequently, the revelations came over 23 years and were compiled in the form of a book called the Quran which Muslims consider as the final and the last word of God. The Quran has been preserved, unchanged, in its original form and confirms the truth in the Torah, the psalms and the Gospel. 5. Do Muslims worship Muhammad? (P) No. Muslims do not worship Muhammad (P) or any other prophets. Muslims believe in all prophets including Adam, Noah, Abraham, David, Solomon, Moses and Jesus. Muslims believe that Muhammad (P) was the last of the prophets. They believe that God alone is to be worshiped, not any human being. 6. What do Muslims think of Jesus? (P) Muslims think highly of Jesus (P) and his worthy mother, Mary. The Quran tells us that Jesus was born of a miraculous birth without a father. "Lo! The likeness of Jesus with Allah is the likeness of Adam. He created him of dust, and then He said unto him: Be and he is" (Quran 3.59). He was given many miracles as a prophet. These include speaking soon after his birth in defense of his mother's piety. God's other gifts to him included healing the blind and the sick, reviving the dead, making a bird out of clay and most importantly, the message he was carrying. These miracles were given to him by God to establish him as a prophet. According to the Quran, he was not crucified but was raised into Heaven. (Quran, Chapter Maryam) 7. Do Muslims have many sects? Muslims have no sects. In Islam, there are two major schools of thought, the Shia and the Sunni. Both have many things in common. They follow the same book - Quran. They follow the same prophet Muhammad (P). Both offer their prayers five time a day. Both fast in the month of Ramadan. They both go for hajj, pilgrimage to Mecca. Those who follow Prophet Muhammad (P), in accordance with his sayings and actions, are called Sunni and those who in addition follow the sayings and views of Ali (Muhammad's son-in- law), as the rightful successor to Prophet Muhammad (P), are called Shia. Shia means a partisan (party of Ali) and it started more as a political party to help Ali in his conflict with his political adversaries. Most Shias live in Iran and Iraq while the rest of the Muslim world is mostly Sunni. Shias comprise about 16-percent of the Muslim population. 8. What are the pillars of Islam? There are five major pillars of Islam which are the articles of faith. These pillars are 1) the belief (Iman) in one God and that Muhammad (P) is His messenger, 2) prayer (Salat) which are prescribed five times a day, 3) fasting (Siyam) which is required in the month of Ramadan, 4) charity (Zakat) which is the poor-due on the wealth of the rich and 5) hajj which is the pilgrimage to Mecca once in a lifetime if one can afford it physically and financially. All the pillars should be of equal height and strength in a building in order to give the building its due shape and proportions. It is not possible that one would do hajj without observing fasting or without practicing regular prayers. Now think of a building which has pillars only. It would not be called a building. In order to make it a building, it has to have a roof, it has to have walls, it has to have doors and windows. These things in Islam are the moral codes of Islam such as honesty, truthfulness, steadfastness and many other human moral qualities. Thus in order to be a Muslim, one should not only be practicing the pillars of Islam but should also have the highest possible attribute for being a good human being. Only then the building is completed and looks beautiful. 9. What is the purpose of worship in Islam? The purpose of worship in Islam is to be God conscious. Thus the worship, whether it is prayer, fasting, or charity, is a means to achieve God consciousness so that when one becomes conscious of God, in thought and in action, he is in a better position to receive His bounties both in this world and the hereafter. 10. Do Muslims believe in the hereafter? God is Just and manifest His justice, He established the system of accountability. Those who do good will be rewarded and those who do wrong will be punished accordingly. Thus, He created Heaven and Hell and there are admission criteria for both. Muslims believe that the present life is a temporary one. It is a test and if we pass the test, we will be given a life of permanent pleasure in the company of good people in Heaven. 11. Will the good actions of the non-believers be wasted? No. The Quran clearly says that, "anyone who has an atom's worth of goodness will see it and anyone who has done an atom's worth of evil will also see it" (Quran 99:7- . By that it is meant that those who are non- believers but have done good will be rewarded in this world for their good deed. On the other hand, those who do good if they are Muslims, they will be rewarded not only in this world but also in the world hereafter. However, the final Judgment is up to God himself. (Quran 2:62)12. What is the dress code for Muslims? Islam emphasizes modesty. No person should be perceived as a sex object. There are certain guidelines both for men and women that their dress should neither be too thin nor too tight to reveal body forms. For men, they must at least cover the area from the knee to navel and for women, their dress should cover all areas except the hands and face. The veil is not essential. 13. What are the dietary prohibitions in Islam? Muslims are told in the Quran not to eat pork or pork products, meat of the animals who died before being slaughtered or the carnivorous animals (as they eat dead animals), nor drink blood or intoxicants such as wine or use any illicit drugs. 14. What is Jihad? The word "Jihad" means struggle, or to be specific, striving in the cause of God. Any struggle done in day-to-day life to please God can be considered Jihad. One of the highest levels of Jihad is to stand up to a tyrant and speak a word of truth. Control of the self from wrong doings is also a great Jihad. One of the forms of Jihad is to take up arms in defense of Islam or a Muslim country when Islam is attacked. This kind of Jihad has to be declared by the religious leadership or by a Muslim head of state who is following the Quran and Sunnah. 15. What is the Islamic Year? The Islamic year started from the migration (Hijra) of Prophet Muhammad (P) from Mecca to Medina in 622 AD. It is a lunar year of 354 days. The first month is called Muharram. 1996 AD is in Islamic year 1416 AH. 16. What are the major Islamic festivals? Idul Fitre, marks the end of fasting in the month of Ramadan and is celebrated with public prayers, feasts and exchange of gifts. Idul Adha marks the end of the Hajj or the annual pilgrimage to Mecca. After the public prayers, those who can afford, sacrifice a lamb or a goat to signify Prophet Abraham's obedience to God, shown by his readiness to sacrifice his son Ishmael. 17. What is Sharia? Sharia is the comprehensive Muslim law derived form two sources, a) the Quran b) the Sunnah or traditions of Prophet Muhammad (P). It covers every aspect of daily individual and collective living. The purpose of Islamic laws are protection of individuals' basic human rights to include right to life, property, political and religious freedom and safeguarding the rights of women and minorities. The low crime rate in Muslim societies is due to the application of the Islamic laws. 18. Was Islam spread by the sword? According to the Quran, "There is no compulsion in religion" (2:256), thus, no one can be forced to become a Muslim. While it is true that in many places where Muslim armies went to liberate people or the land, they did carry the sword as that was the weapon used at that time. However, Islam did not spread by the sword because in many places where there are Muslims now, in the Far East like Indonesia, in China, and many parts of Africa, there are no records of any Muslim armies going there. To say that Islam was spread by the sword would be to say that Christianity was spread by guns, F-16's and atomic bombs, etc., which is not true. Christianity spread by the missionary works of Christians. Ten-percent of all Arabs are Christians. The "Sword of Islam" could not convert all the non-Muslim minorities in Muslim countries. In India, where Muslims ruled for 700 years, they are still a minority. In the USA., Islam is the fastest growing religion and has 6 million followers without any sword around. 19. Does Islam promote violence and terrorism? No. Islam is religion of peace and submission and stresses on the sanctity of human life. A verse in the Quran says, [Chapter 5, verse 32], that "anyone who saves one life, it is as if he has saved the whole of mankind and anyone who has killed another person (except in lieu of murder or mischief on earth) it is as if he has killed the whole of mankind." Islam condemns all the violence which happened in the Crusades, in Spain, in WW II, or by acts of people like the Rev. Jim Jones, David Koresh, Dr. Baruch Goldstein, or the atrocities committed in Bosniaby the Christian Serbs. Anyone who is doing violence is not practicing his religion at that time. However, sometimes violence is a human response of oppressed people as it happens in Palestine. Although this is wrong, they think of this as a way to get attention. There is a lot of terrorism and violence in areas where there is no Muslim presence. For example, in Ireland, South Africa, Latin America, and Sri Lanka. Sometimes the violence is due to a struggle between those who have with those who do not have, or between those who are oppressed with those who are oppressors. We need to find out why people become terrorists. Unfortunately, the Palestinians who are doing violence are called terrorists, but not the armed Israeli settlers when they do the same sometimes even against their own people. As it turned out to be in the Oklahoma City bombing, sometime Muslims are prematurely blamed even if the terrorism is committed by non-Muslims. Sometimes those who want Peace and those who oppose Peace can be of the same religion. 20. What is "Islamic Fundamentalism"? There is no concept of "Fundamentalism" in Islam. The western media has coined this term to brand those Muslims who wish to return to the basic fundamental principles of Islam and mould their lives accordingly. Islam is a religion of moderation and a practicing God fearing Muslim can neither be a fanatic nor an extremist. 21. Does Islam promote polygamy? No, polygamy in Islam is a permission not an injunction. Historically, all the prophets except Jesus, who was not married, had more than one wife. For Muslim men to have more than one wife is a permission which is given to them in the Quran, not to satisfy lust, but for the welfare of the widows and the orphans of the wars. In the pre-Islamic period, men used to have many wives. One person had 11 wives and when he became Muslim, he asked the Prophet Muhammad (P), "What should I do with so many wives?" and he said, "Divorce all except the four." The Quran says, "you can marry 2 or 3 and up to 4 women if you can be equally just with each of them" (4:3). Since it is very difficult to be equally just with all wives, in practice, most of the Muslim men do not have more than one wife. Prophet Muhammad (P) himself from age 24 to 50 was married to only one woman, Khadija. In the western society, some men who have one wife have many extramarital affairs. Thus, a survey was published in "USA. Today" (April 4, 1988 Section D) which asked 4,700 mistresses what they would like their status to be. They said that "they preferred being a second wife rather than the 'other woman' because they did not have the legal rights, nor did they have the financial equality of the legally married wives, and it appeared that they were being used by these men." 22. Does Islam oppress women? No. On the contrary, Islam elevated the status of women 1,400 years ago by giving them the right to divorce, the right to have financial independence and support and the right to be identified as dignified women (Hijab) when in the rest of the world, including Europe, women had no such rights. Women are equal to men in all acts of piety (Quran 33:32). Islam allows women to keep their maiden name after marriage, their earned money and spend it as they wish, and ask men to be their protector as women on the street can be molested. Prophet Muhammad (P) told Muslim men, "the best among you is the one who is best to his family." Not Islam, but some Muslim men, do oppress women today. This is because of their cultural habits or their ignorance about their religion. Female Genital Mutilations has nothing to do with Islam. It is a pre Islamic African Custom, practiced by non Muslims including coptic Christians as well. 23. Is Islam intolerant of other religious minorities? Islam recognizes the rights of the minority. To ensure their welfare and safety, Muslim rulers initiated a tax (Jazia) on them. Prophet Muhammad (P) forbade Muslim armies to destroy churches and synagogues. Caliph Umer did not even allow them to pray inside a church. Jews were welcomed and flourished in Muslim Spain even when they were persecuted in the rest of Europe. They consider that part of their history as the Golden Era. In Muslim countries, Christians live in prosperity, hold government positions and attend their church. Christian missionaries are allowed to establish and operate their schools and hospitals. However, the same religious tolerance is not always available to Muslim minorities as seen in the past during Spanish inquisition and the crusades, or as seen now by the events in Bosnia, Israel and India. Muslims do recognize that sometimes the actions of a ruler does not reflect the teachings of his religion. 24. What is the Islamic view on- a. Dating and Premarital sex: Islam does not approve of intimate mixing of the sexes, and forbids premarital or extramarital sex. Islam encourages marriage as a shield to such temptations and as a means of having mutual love, mercy and peace. b. Abortion: Islam considers abortion as murder and does not permit it except to save the mother's life (Quran 17:23-31, 6:15 1). c. Homosexuality and AIDS: Islam categorically opposes homosexuality and considers it a sin. However, Muslim physicians are advised to care for AIDS patients with compassion just as they would for other patients. d. Euthanasia and Suicide: Islam is opposed to both suicide and euthanasia. Muslims do not believe in heroic measures to prolong the misery in a terminally ill patient. e. Organ transplantation: Islam stresses upon saving lives (Quran 5:32); thus, transplantation in general would be considered permissible provided a donor consent is available. The sale of the organ is not allowed. 25. How should Muslims treat Jews and Christians? The Quran calls them "People of the Book", i.e., those who received Divine scriptures before Muhammad (P). Muslims are told to treat them with respect and justice and do not fight with them unless they initiate hostilities or ridicule their faith. The Muslims ultimate hope is that they all will join them in worshipping one God and submit to His will. "Say (O Muhammad): O people of the Book (Jews and Christians) come to an agreement between us and you, that we shall worship none but Allah, and that we shall take no partners with Him, and none of us shall take others for Lords beside Allah. And if they turn away, then say: Bear witness that we are those who have surrendered (unto Him)." (Quran 3:64) What about Hindus, Bahai, Buddhists and members of other religions? They should also be treated with love, respect, and understanding to make them recipients of Invitations to Islam. http://www.islam-usa.com/25ques.html |
. By that it is meant that those who are non- believers but have done good will be rewarded in this world for their good deed. On the other hand, those who do good if they are Muslims, they will be rewarded not only in this world but also in the world hereafter. However, the final Judgment is up to God himself. (Quran 2:62)
