Do you really think that your post makes any sense?

1) First you talk about vision. Vision or goals are good but if you dont have any means to achieve them, the vision is a useless.

2) You talk about God and Moses. The old testament is of little relevance to modern day life. God also told Moses on how to regulate slavery in the old testament.

You're not using your brain. Did you just say that as a slavery apologist? To minimize the evil that was done by Europeans of that time?

1) The were Jewish people who collaborated with the Nazis. Do we blame Jews for the holocaust?

2) Slaves were never a commodity in Nigerian tribes, especially in the south before Europeans came. Neighboring tribes were killed but never enslaved. Where was the need for slaves in West African societies before Eurpeans and Arabs came? A family worked on their own farm - the wives and children joined in the labour. Where was the need for slaves?

3) Do you think it is easy to sell your fellow brothers into slavery? Considering point number 2, how many rich Nigerian slave traders did we hear about and do you think that the FEW who sold slaves did it out of pleasure or fear?



Think before you talk

Religion has not helped Nigeria;

1) Christianity has destroyed our culture in Nigeria. We are not historically a christian country, many young people have no idea of the traditions or religion of our forefathers. I am an atheist but I feel that it is important to know ones culture, at least to be able to explain it to foreigners. For example, we had many sculptures and art of our traditions but now it has dwindled because of christianity. Christianity will call those sculptures idols and idol worshipping while hypocritically putting up statues of Jesus christ on the cross.


2)We are now even more divided with christianity and islam in the south and north. We have seen battles in Kaduna and Jos that have left many people on both sides dead


3) Extremist muslims in the form of Boko Haram are killing Nigerians and also giving Nigeria a bad name internationally. Soon, we will become referred to as a terrorist country if we are not careful.

4) We also have christian pastors who rob the poor masses that come to their churches for hope. They use money from the offering to buy private jets, build mansions and atart businesses. These pastors are like cocaine dealers but the drug is different. They get thousands of church members hooked on hope and salvation while extorting offering money and gifts from them. However, these pastors are smart. They know that they will face condenmation from skeptics and so, once in a while, they do some public charity to show that they help the poor. But then, charity begins at home; why not help your church members who are poor regularly?


5) The worst part bout all of this is that many European and Americans (USA) look at Nigerians as backward country people. Of course, they are partly right and they won't say it directly but we can see the sentiment when they talk about the scientific studies that show the link between religion and intelligence/poverty. They talk about how the poorest countries are the most religious. Furthermore, christianity and islam are two religions that enslaved Nigeria. They are slave trading religions. Islam came first to take slaves from west Africa while Christianity expanded the transatlantic slave trade . Why should we as Nigerians embrace these two foreign religions that enslaved our forefathers? Read the Koran and the Bible and you will see that the religions are focused on Arabs and Jews From Adam to Jesus/Mohammed.


6) Religion can only be a force for good if religious people accept that human beings come first before the belief of God and that their religion is a mixture of good and bad. Religions cause slavery and wars. Why do you still believe that your religion is totally good?

Human beings come before God;

-If a man is dying of starvation and the only food that you can give him within the next few hours is pork. Do you give him pork or let him starve because your God hates pork?

-If you are hanging off a cliff and a devil worshipper or satanist offers to pull you away from falling off the cliff are you going to reject his hand because he is a devil worshipper?

Your religion does not provide any answer to any complex question because the bible is not scientific. Creationism is a lie. Human beings were not created.

cyrexx: i believe christianity and atheism had little to nothing in common, and each one should follow what he really believes. and we should respect each other and not try to convert another person to one's belief system. i am a christian and my belief system has answers to some questions that atheism didn't have (like who created the world and every other complex phenomenon we observe including our great minds we use in reasoning) while atheists are not bound by some of our rules for living since, according to their belief system, there is no judgement, no afterlife, no heaven or hell, no Higher Being etc. i respect that. another thing is that I as a Christian cannot prove 100% that God exists while atheists cannot prove 100% that God does not exist, but we can learn one or two thing to strengthen or reshape our different belief system with MUTUAL RESPECT for each other not try to call anyone a fool. we will never really know who is right or wrong until hundreds of years from now, i think. thats my submission

So, I was playing a videogame and when I finished a particular stage in the videogame, the videogame character that I was using said;

When my aunt heard this, she said that the videogame is devilish! I laughed and told her that she is ten times worse. My aunt is worse because while the videogame character is fiction, she covers herself with the blood of Jesus in prayer every morning before she goes to work. Is she not asking for blood to come unto her? Heck, maybe the videogame character is also calling for the blood of Jesus!

Poverty is not a choice. There are some situations in which a poor person will remain poor unless by some intervention of the goverment or a rich person or charity. There are poor children in the village that dont get education past primary school because of their poor parents- how are they ever going to be rich without external help?

What about manual factory workers who lose their arms or legs in factory accident. Is it really going to be easy for a handicapped person to be rich in Nigeria if he is already poor?

1) There is no prophetic/original year of 360 days in the bible. The bible never advocated 360 years. Recent bible scholars got the idea from other cultures that use 360 day calendar. There are only two sources of the 360 day years;

a)Ancient Mayan, Egyptian, Babylonian and Summerian calenders. Note that all the people in these places were not christians/Jews at all
b) Financial calender which makes stock market and financial calculations easier.

2) The significance of 40 days in our modern day everyday life is almost non-existent.
