In truth, atheism proper is a positive belief and statement that there is no God. The only problem is that there are really only two types of people who can legitimately make that statement: (a) an omniscient person or (b) a fool.

Since the evangelical atheists know that they are not omniscient and since also they don't want to be called the fools that they are, they resort to the chicanery that atheism is merely a lack of belief in Gods -----yes, as with dogs, cows, monkeys etc.
