naijamd: I will be writing step1 next September...You're a medical student or you've graduated? If you're a student, how do you intend to combine the rigours of med school and usmle preparation( knowing the demands of both systems are different) . If you're a doctor, did you have any clinical experience in the united states while you were a student? |
Gifts remain gifts. Exes remain exes. |
Her most treasure thing is her virginity? Really? She deserves no attention. |
The most potent excuse to string guys along. And I've noticed, girls of this sort rarely get serious about relationships. Endless guys to derive attention from. |
Godmother: ^^ You do a blood transfusion. Its what my friend did cos her baby was SS. But the process is really expensive. I don't know if this technique is in Nigeria sha cos she's in the USDid you mean to say allogeneic haemopoietic bone marrow transplant? It's curative but the risks associated with the procedure are quite enormous. Not to talk of the cost. Optimal approach to these things is not to get involved from the onset. No one should bring a child into this world to suffer. |
You took the decision. Move on. You live to love , and not the other way round. Meanwhile, an advise to you all out there. Once you start liking that guy/girl, it wouldn't hurt to ask about their genotype before feelings starts to get serious. We will have one less person to blame God for consequences. |
I won't visit this spa to save my life |
ebsuguy: Since the first step is BMS and path/pham,I intend writing it after 3rd MBOkay. Good luck. |
Not advise. I was hoping you have a way around the demands of both systems |
ebsuguy: Hit the nailI don't understand |
Emzybrown: Pls madam, i hope you dont want to engage me in an E-fight and pls dont incite my fellow colleagues who believe in strike must continue to devour you ma ![]() |
Having stayed in 400 level for 17 months now, today should bring this drama to an end. |
Any Nigerian medical student that is interested in USMLE anytime soon? |
Let's see how this would end |
Ebsuguy, how do you intend to cope with preparing for usmle and the tedious nature of Nigerian medical school system?? |
Alutacontinua, we need to talk. It's important. When you see this post send me a mail ( medicalmatata@gmail.com). Thanks. |
vicksbaba: lol........so u're an online extrovert, offline introvert??I'm just myself anywhere. Online or offline. |
Lagusta: So alutacontinua is not a babeAluta is still mine . We have a date later tonight. Top on the menu is where I'll be singing Shayne Ward's "Beautiful in White" to her. Then we'll have that mushy mushy talk followed by warm, electrifying hugs. ![]() Stay tuned!!! BTW I am also looking for an e-sweetheartI thought the grasses were greener on the other side ![]() |
I-am-Winner:Around. Moving into a new apartment is taking it's toll on me. Dr.'Hesjay:Babes ? I don't even know how to talk to babes ![]() |
I-am-Winner:•Gross Anatomy - Snell's Clinical Anatomy by Regions - Richard S Snell •Histology - BRS Histology ( preferred) -An Atlas ( Juquinera is good. Has text too) •Embryology- BRS Embryology ( I prefer this one) - Langman's Embryology •Physiology - NMS Physiology ( main text) - Guyton •Biochemistry- Vasudevan plus either of Kaplan or BRS Biochemistry - Harper's Biochemistry As for the syllabus, is it for all schools or just your school??.... Thanks..
It's a standard MBBS Pre-clinical syllabus. Not from my school. I still found it VERY useful. Btw.. Happi birthday (veri late, but please pardon me)
Thanks. |
musty001: *slightly opens d door nd peeps into d room*** sets leg ** ![]() |
If you really want medicine, go for it. If MCB now and Medicine later won't favour you age-wise, take JAMB and get in. But 27/28 isn't a bad age to finish med school. I wonder what your worries are. |
Hoyeenz: Uw. Too much physiology and pharmacology. Hope u had fun?Yeah I did. Mad fun. ![]() I'm back to resting membrane potential now ![]() |
Babalola1990: L4-L5 , Piercing through Dura to Arachnoid...Start from skin, subcut. tissue...and so on |
**picks mic..... .....clears throat** I want to use this singular opportunity to express my supraventricular tarchycardic gratitude to every poster in this thread who made today especially special for me.Most worthy of note is my one and only Alutacontinua, :* the long arm of my only X chromosome, to which there is no duplication or deletion , the SA node of my heart- to which no other pacemaker can compare . Thanks sweerie ![]() Worthy of mention is sweet Hoyeenz who sent the precursor signal for the genetic transcription which was translated by taiocol and led to synthesis of alpha and beta subunits of polypeptide chains of proteins which set my birthday in motion. ![]() charleymed is remembered as the cleaving enzyme that hydrolysed the inactive part of the polypeptide chain by his questions into active components. ![]() Not forgetting snave007 for his role as the voltage gated sodium channel to extrude these chains out of the cell. ![]() Cellular protein transport can be energy consuming, so Dr.'Hesjay was the ATP to provide the high energy phosphate bonds. ![]() Just beside the transport channel was labodinho , our ATPase , the rate limiting enzyme in ATP hydrolysis. ![]() Our one and qualified Dr Lagusta was seen supervising the protein transport (in the company of some fine nurses ) while Amb Fitsaint supplied the polypeptide specific anti-protease activity ensuring safe arrival of this protein at the target site. For this protein to execute the signal for which it was manufactured, it needed a specific receptor Dr.Gboy . Protein bound to Dr.Gboy led to activation of an enzyme, Dr_Bode which catalysed the conversion ofJewel Bukky into cyclic tayyibb , a second messenger. The second messenger sends signals for the release of a Fedric ion , which executes the physiologic function for which the protein was coded for. ![]() In summary, I really appreciate you guys and every other member of this thread for yesterday. God bless you all ![]() **drops mic** |
charleymed: yea... R.S.S means Richard .S. Snell, it's thesame book we are talking about, sorry 4 that....i have both clinical anatomy and neuroanatomy.....but i need tips on how to use them, am not satisfied with the way am going right now.You have a syllabus? |
charleymed: Please did you use R.S.S neuroanatomy and anatomy textbooks? If yes i need tips on how to read them very well, cos from mere look of things i think those books are endowed.I used Snell's Clinical Neuroanatomy by Richard Snell and Functional Neuroanatomy: Text and Atlas By Adel K. Afifi, Ronald A. Bergman They were good. Btw, what is R.S.S ? Did u mean to say BRS? |
charleymed: while examining a pathology specimen of nervous tissues under a microscope, the pathologist was able to determine the sex of the individual from whom the tissue had been removed. How would you be able to do this?Easy one. Perfect birthday gift. Ans: Buccal smear. Look for Barr Body a.k.a sex chromatin. If you find one, it's definitely a female. If none found, that's your male. |
