Thats where I used to watch the freebies.Anythng new bro?@Ilish: Ma meen, r u still hitting 32.5East Galaxy or Intelsat 802? If so let us know if those freebies are still on. Thank you. Also, I’d like to know the closest satellite to this Galxy 11 which can help me in tracking it with my 1.8m pan. |
Ilish & George_D, Thankx for the clarification |
@George_D, tox, butoneday, kungu and all the other gurus: Please George, tox, butoneday, kungu, and any other guru in the house, help me with this fuzzy vision: Is it possible that the same frequency, polarization and symbol rate can be allocated to two different satellites? Take as an example the recent “new” channels on ew4/7 with parameters: 12303H27500 and the tracking frequency for badr5 with the same parameters: 12303H27500. Can such not distabilise one if in search of a new satellite? Thankx for your anticipated response. |
Is this channel called KG on Eutelsat W3A new or is it a feed? I just scanned and got it at 11163v5713 and also Tanberg Services with tp 12728v30000 with vpid:0101 apid:0102 and ppid:4901 |
@gruka: You have been scammed. fact that you updated with 69 may have tamppered with one of the ICs or the power supply that's why the box is dead. na alaba boys go chop them own now. take am go alaba qwik qwik b'cos person wy sellam for you no go accept am again ooooooo. sorry ooo. |
@Olofofo & George_D: Thank very much for your inputs towards my acquiring a nice sat finding meter. Price wise, I’ll find it difficult getting any of those you guys proposed. However, there is this one called WS International DSF120 at http://shops.godaddy.com/aSavings-com/WS-International-Digital-Satellite-Signal-Meter-DSF120/?ISC=GGLFD1 if it is digital as declared, then I’ll go for it. Picture below:

Good Day all,@ainanimi: Are you sure it was W3A you hit or Sirius? For I guess it was sirius4 @5 east which as many know is very close to EW3A and some brodas even do dropl the 2 birds with one dish. So, give some tps and sr and channels you hit if at all you revealed something new with Sirus which seems to be growing in leaps and bounds ever since NSS7 turn coat and banished nearly all ftas on it. |
to start with, not that many analogue channels on satellites anymore. you might want to get a real satellite meter as those types u talk of are basically good for nailing birds directly above our heads.@Olofofo: thankx very much, chief Olo! please give me an idea of a good but cheap meter one could get. Is this: DSS Satellite Finder Kit from http://sat-sales.com/products.php?cat=13 any good? |
@George_D: Hello Sir! Long time and a Happy and Prosperous New Year to you and the family. Please, I got this question: can one use an analogue satellite finder meter with our digital boxes or are analogue meters for analogue boxes and digital meters for digital boxes? A friend bought the stargold (SG-20SF) satellite finder. On it is written (amongst other things) “For analogue and digital signals”. But, man I wasn’t impressed with the results when I tested it. Sometimes you lock unto a satellite and it doesn’t beep. At other times it beeps even though you’ve not hit a satellite. If analogue finders could be used with digital boxes, which may be really good and cheap? Thankx for your anticipated reply. |
press the audio button on your remote control. make sure the audio track is in 1:english and audio mode stereo(if in d other softwares just press the menu button and exit or press the audio button and switch to audio track 2:english then return to 1:english@don401: Thankx but it didn’t do the trick, man! Anyhow, my friend doesn’t give an asses brain for RDV and in as much as he’s got his audio for all the other pretige channels, that’s what matters. Thankx anyways. Soon as my box arrives I’ll go hunting for Galaxy 11 ‘cos I hear tell it is a very good alternative to EW4/7, if u know a mean! |
@don401: There is a question for you at: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-584479.0.html#msg7517113 Please, endeavor to reply. |
@don401: d 1.11p doesn't ve pic in pic. I dont see anything interested in it except d rdv audio and the biss it comes withHow did you get the audio of RDV working with v1.11p? I've installed it but RDV sounds mute. |
Hey good people!!! Let’s let the main forum have a bit of respite with all our firmware upgrade/downgrade wahala. Bring it ON!!!! Tell all about the latest firmware here and their attributes. I’ll start. Experience with firmware upgrade for SRT4669x. V1.20p gave me a real headache. From time to time, channels get erased or there is difficulty in navigating the satellite tracking menu. Some times you try to track a tp which is green and the screen goes black but it tracks. After that the tp is green but no video nor audio until you put the stb off and on from behind. There isn’t any great difference in the time taken to change from one channel to another compared with the factory setting Positive aspect is that the HE-AAC sound problem for some channels is solved. V1.11p is just about the same like 1.20 although I am yet to experience the erasing of channels. However, when you try to change the language setting, the screen darkens for a short while before coming on back. Then, RDV losses its sound. I want to go the v1.24p way and see how it plays out before deciding which one I’ll keep for the box. Mark you, this sin’t my own box. It belongs to a friend who just acquired it for the ‘bro channels. I was helping out for his lack of audio with the said prestige channels but started running into problems with the upgrades. Smell y’all later! |
@lovala thanks for reply, i have tried that but de problem still remains what do you think thanks***Let’s try this, if it doesn’t work (cos my guess is that the problem arised because of the firmware upgrade) then may be the boys at Alaba will have to eat some of your naira for their services: do a factory reset first, then follow it up with a rerun of the 1.10p. That’s how far I guess I can go. If the problem didn’t arise from the firmware upgrade then all these efforts will result to zero. |
@hisoccer Reload your stb with either 1.10p or 1.11p and tell us if the problem persists |
@gadotor I beg, help a broad out with the 1.20p patch for 69x. this is my e-mail: lovala@yahoo.com @kungu Thankx bro for the clarification. From the map it seems as if us in Yaounde, Cameroon may be able to hit it with 90cm although I guess that 180cm should do the trick. Have a prosperous year my man. |
Please, I need some clarification here. Are those “small brother” channels receivable in the southern and eastern parts of Africa on Galaxy 11 as stated by Kungu (Kenya) or on Intelsat 802 as stated by Ilish (Zambia). |
@Sophieamore1: Be careful o because there are some scammers who place 63 boxes in 69 casings. They tried it out on me, but thankx to my membership here I was able to tell them off! |
Weda pipu tok or no tok, dem channels 4 still go. And if dem b wan leavam 4 up till now na dem sabi why. Pay channel na pay channel. Free na free. Dstv no b fools o! |
u're d man, kinmen2004! Thankx a mill! |
Help out, guys! Just want to confirm from any 69x owner: does updating with the right soft take care of the aac audio prob with "channels" on ew4/7? thankx in advance. its really urgent to know and help some one who just acquired a new 69 box here in my town, Yaounde. |
Someone help me out here: why is it that with quality as high as 92, the feeds on sirius 4.8 either don't come out or freeze like hell and i just can't see any thing? the quality of the feed is 65. |
Thankx Twinskenny, Thankx Ameboperoo: Now, one last thing before I get to my Abuja friend. Recent posts about the price of the 69 hangs around 13k. I would like confirmation and also if any of you’ve got the 69, I’d also like you to help me out with the weight. Why I need these infos? I am in Yaounde and would be sending the money to my former classmate through Western Union or MoneyGram and he’d be sending me the cargo via UPS. From your responses, I’d get an idea of the amount I’ll be sending him for buying and shipping. Thankx once again for your interventions. |
@ Lovala@Freshp: Plz, can you gime me the precise location? I am supposed to send my friend to go and buy it for me and he is not versed with fta equipment. If you have the price at which it is sold, that will be of further help. Thankx in advance. |
@ALL: Please, some one posted on where to buy 4669 in Abuja. I would like to be reminded of the place because I want to send money to a classmate of mind in Abuja to buy and send it to me since my dealer here has scammed me of my cash. I can’t find the post detailing the point of sale of 4669 in Abuja. Help out, please! |
@Pitonz: Thankx a lot man. I've been trying to get in touch with Hoga by telephone to no avail. I just got to him before getting online to realise that he's already posted. Will be meeting with him tomorrow at his job side. take care. |
@okenze2003: I dey wait o: lovala123@gmail.com |
If u re not getting aljazeera sports then u re nt getting badr6,by the way were u able to get fox movies green and what is the signal strenght. In southern part of naija we use to lost all the signal in badr6 during the day except aljazeera sprt using 2.4m pan dish. I ll need to know the channels u re getting and the signal strength and in which time of the day plz dont use badr6 as an example again i need to know the channels u re getting so that we can work from there.@pitonz: Can’t recall all the channels off head now since I stay in Yaounde main city and Hoga (who has the dish) stays in Soa which is about 25km from Yaounde. But, I can recall haven watched Fox Series and Movies; National Geographic (in Arabic), Sudan TV, TV Maroc (a Moroccan TV but not 2M); the Rotana channels; LBC; Sharjah tv, KBS and others with the highest quality at that time of the day (between 4:30pm and 7:30pm) when I left ranging from 56 to 58 amongst the different channels. Hoga is more of a francophone and as such finds it difficult to post. Had it not been that I had my location on my profile he’d not have gotten to contact me. I’ll get in touch with him to get a comprehensive list of the channels tracked and post them here. We were also thinking of getting another brand of lnb to try. The problem we have here is the shortage of variety epecially when it comes to fta equipment. I just came across a ku – band lnb called Stargold for offset dishes with a gain of 70 and a noise reduction of between 0.1 to 0.3db as written on the packaging. I know that the taste of the pudding is in the eating, but another question is that of knowing whether offset lnbs can work well on prime focus dishes? Soon as I get the list of channels from him I’ll let you guys know, right here. But, checking with what is given from Lyngsat, all those channels belong to Badr 6. That is the reason for my making the afore mentioned observations. |
@All: Except you can’t tell if your stb is for real or not, NEVER use firmwares from the official Strong website to upgrade. Persian gig and other sister sites have proven themselves to be living up to expectation, so, just go with what they give us. Although it is said that one shouldn’t fix it if it ain’t broken, I’ll like to note that working with a brand new original 69 box is hell. This is from experience. And I guess upgrading helps to solve most of the problems that come with the new box. I am yet to acquire one from my dealer and I’ll have more to dish out on the 69 box when my own arrives except if my dealer has played a fast one on me. |
@all@Olofofo: Please, more light on how one uses the soft to revive a fried stb. Thankx man! |
Aljazee remains as red as blood man. All the Badr4 tps remain red but badr6 go green even as high as 65. Any tips, 'cos we seem to be stuck. |
@ lovala@Flodel Did you see your faulty box flashing numbers from 1 to 100 while it copied and downloaded. If yes, did your faulty stb go off on its own after the downloading and come back? If yes, then your faulty box is now fine. If NO to both questions, close off both boxes and start all over. It occurred once like that with me at my dealers place. When I took the faulty box home and did the transfer with my own box, it worked. You can even change the good box and use another one. If after all these it doesn’t work, then if you in Lagos, just visit Alaba International market and get their electronicians to check your faulty box. NOTE: Use the same series of decoders to do transfer to transfer. Don’t think you can upgrade say 53x to 63x or 53x with 20x. it won’t work. I hope your box gets busy soonest. Sorry o! @Pito; Sorry my brother. That should be a case of one of your ICs being affected. May be it the solution can be gotten by changing one of such ICs. Some one has posted on that in the forum. Read back and check. I stand to be corrected though! |
