Running a Diesel powered Generator set, continuosly, at home for 24 hours, except if you are super-rich.
Forming Lagos Island big boy by renting expartriate apartments for about N7m per annum, when that amount can get you a good plot of land on the Lagos Mainland and leave you surplus change to start the construction of a very standard bungalow.

Was your decline caused by too much partying or run-s huh huh

I am asking the above questions because if you do not discipline yourself and purge yourself of the above negative tendencies, you will still end up with the same poor grades, no matter how many other degrees you pursue.

A very good effort by our girls; they can come home with their heads held high.
I predict that within the next decade this cup shall be ours if:
1. We follow up on the success attained by reaching this level in the competition through going back to the drawing board to find out why we failed to win the competition.
2. Retention of Coach Dedevbo on the Job and sending him to world class coaching Academies abroad for refreshers coaching class, rather than sacking him as was done to coach Ntiero who got Nigeria to the finals of this same competition in 2010. A coach with much coaching experience in a competition is better than a greenhorn any day.

14. Stole an Uncle's car with my cousin. We were actually told to wash it, but decided to test our driving skills. We succeded in ramming the car into the wooden garage door as we were trying to park the car, but thank God there was no damage to the car or ourselves.
Later at about 19, I learnt to drive well under one month.

I fear that many more youths May, If not properly guided, take The same unfortunate step As my neighbour above .
Kudos to The organisers Of The above event .

Nigeria is a country of absurdities angry

There is total absence of shame in our daily conduct.

I am beginning to think we, as a people, do not have a conscience, which is almost like saying we are near or complete animals with no morals. Really like animals, we depend only on our instinct to survive, thats why we can hail a rogue as a saviour, as long as he he helps us to achieve our basic needs of food, clothing and shelter. angry

DJDOLA: I will rather die than 2 commit suicide
Good thinking, right huh

So sad, the woman must have suffered from Post-Partum depression which sets in for some women after child-birth.

Mental health issues need to be recognized and properly treated in Nigeria.

Lazy officers grin

They are not ashamed to admit that one civilian beat up the two of them.

Well, the officers were out for a good cause and the woman should not have obstructed them from performing their lawful duties.

Immunity Clauses should be upheld for The President and Sitting Governors, but impeachment can be used to remove criminal minded executives from office, after which they can be tried by the law courts.

Politics › Re: Okonjo-iweala, Saharareporters In War Of Words Over Nigerian Economy by lozanni(m): 4:03pm On Jul 02, 2013
The Minister of Finance was very much needed when we were discussing with multi-national Banks Organisation to write off our huge foreign debt. She, Mrs Okonjo-Iweala was able to do this by getting our foreign debtors to write-off our debt in one lump-sum, although critics of this move said that we were actually cheated as some of the debts had been re-scheduled to run for many years and that compounding the lump-sum we paid to them will actually give a higher amount to the foreign debtors at the end of the day.

However, after the above debt write-off arrangement, the minister has been largely redundant and this was initially noticed by President Obasanjo, hence he re-shuffled his cabinet and moved her to different ministry.

I am surprised that President Goodluck Jonathan brought her back and not only made her the Minister of Finance again, but also the Coordinating minister of the economy huh We have since seen how her appointment is properly coordinating the economy, especially now that our main source of foreign exchange earning (Crude-Oil) which earns over 90% of our export earnings is under threat through the discovery of Shale Gas by the USA and China, two of our main crude oil buyers. Shale Gas can be used as an alternative source of energy to crude-oil, yet there is no response to this by the coordinating minister of the economy undecided
Car Talk › Re: Is It Possible For A Car To Be Charmed? by lozanni(m): 3:09pm On Jul 01, 2013
I was told that in a state bordering Lagos, if one of the towing truck operators touches your car, even if its brand new, it will stop working immediately so that they, the towing truck people, can earn some money through towing it to a garage.

The person who narrated the above story to me said, that the next time he saw the towing truck operators, when he was stopped by the police, approaching his car, he had to swear at them and warned them never to ever come near his car !!! smiley

Business › Re: DSTV Disconnecting Subscribers Before Subscription Expires by lozanni(m): 4:56pm On Mar 06, 2013
Hello all,

For the 3rd time in 3 months, DSTV has disconnected me from the service 3 days before the date my subscription is supposed to expire.

When it happened the first time I ignored it. It happened again the second, I called their customer care lines (08039003788 and 012703232) severally but I was never attended to after being on the call for several minutes, however, I complained when I went to renew my subscription and they said they will rectify the problem. Now for the 3rd time, it has happened again. I wish there was a serious competitor and a good alternative to switch to.

I'm sure I'm not the only subscriber experiencing this denial of service, I have read in this forum someone complaining about this. I noticed, this problem started the first month I benefited from their 10% discount promo on subscription renewal before expiration.

Is any other person experiencing this problem? Pls. lets bring this to the attention of their management, I have sent an email since 2 days without any feedback.
angry This was what happened to me yesterday night !!! I had rushed home to watch the Man U. Versus Real Madrid match only to find out that my account had been suspended, five days before the expiration of my subscription angry
Nairaland General › Re: Lagos New Trend Of Traffic Robbery by lozanni(m): 3:05pm On Mar 05, 2013
The way to avoid being robbed on the Oshodi- Apapa Expressway is to keep to the middle lanes when you get to charity bus stop inward Toyota, as some nasty area boys/drug addicts normally stand at the Road divider waiting to pounce on unsuspecting motorists and dispossess them of their money and belongings.

I have witnessed the above incidents on a number of occasions, mostly on Fridays or on the onset of a public holiday.
