The NA for its missteps should be rightly criticized.
However We should be careful about aiding and helping BH.
The NA that you are claiming wont engaged BH was busy yesterday destroyed a BH team in Gwoza.
Everyone is entitled to their views. The reality on the ground is a lot different.
It also does a great disservice to the Men and Women who are fighting.
The CJTF are here to stayThey are armed with the Shotguns that were seized by Customs. They gave proved their worth in blood.
They are not going anywhere nor would or should they be armed with outdated bolt action Rifles when the enemy is using AK47s.
Thank God you are not the one making those decisions.

Yes your aunt must have being involved in the civil war but not as a combatant prolly what the army calls fatigue tools(Supporting role) except you wanna tell us she drove tanks, was in the infantry or artillery( which wasn't possible as of then) even recently that combatant course was approved for female cadets, army don't post them to the frontlines.
That being said, I've seen female cadets train, countless times in NDA there are alot of privileges they're being given unlike there male colleagues.
If you had read my comment carefully, you would have noticed that I'm not against women joining specialized fighting units as long as corners are not being cut. As far as special forces operations is concerned there is no room for feminism, it should be purely on merit.
This is my final take and understand there are somethings I have left out due to classified reasons.
As we Speak there are female Soldiers in infantry. They are not there to do their makeup.
During the first War at Baga. There were female NA casualties. This too me is the strongest reasons for the CONTINUED recruiting of female Soldiers.
A Female NA who was killed in the NE was 25 years old.
She didn't ask for any favors.
Instead when asked , She said if I die , I die.
The other myth. She was educated to the degree level so she wasn't job hunting.
As for SFs let me address this once and for all.
They are needed.
The enemy has employed countless numbers of females not just to act as bomb couriers but to do other dastardly deeds.
Nigeria is behind in this war in recruiting females in this war for SFs Ops
In the Civil War they were ahead.
They literally have catching up to do.

Please the picture in here House is not of her carrying anything or treating fellow soldiers.
There were only 2 pictures she displayed.
One when She made Major.
The other is her at the front.
Firing a Rifle in combat
Like I said a lot of what is being bandied about Female Soldiers in Nigeria has to do with ignorance..
We are also very thankful one thing Nigeria actually got right.
Joining the Armed Forces is voluntary.

I'm so much against bringing feminism into our armed forces, because most atimes these women are giving leverages during training if any woman must be in any special unit then it must be earned and what I mean by that is they should undergo the same strenuous activities as their male counterparts. America which is one of the bedrocks of feminism till date don't have a female in any if their seal teams. Sometimes last year the only woman who underwent training to join the US seal team had to voluntarily withdraw because of the terrible exercises.
In Nigeria the same people hailing the military for bringing women closer to battle will be the first to castigate and throw morale wrenching cusses at the military if a female soldier is captured or executed by BHT.
My Auntie just passed away on Mother's day
( American Mother's day)
She was among Nigeria's First Female officers.
She fought in the Civil War.
She didn't ask for any special favors.
There is this myth in Nigeria that has to do with ignorance that when a female joins the NA they are given special favors they are not.
If we go by factual history , Nigerian Women have been fighting as Soldiers before Nigeria was a Country.
Let's quit acting like it doesn't happen because it is happening.
If a Nigerian woman as is her right fills out the application to join and is selected it is her God given and Constitutional right to do as she pleases.

Are you not a simpleton? How does me, pointing out the fact make me a premium times advocate, I know your type of people, rather than face the hard truth you will give excuses and turn a blind eye instead of the required input to change the outcome positively , high service mongrel, it will interest you to know, I have paid my dues in the northeast, I have lost loved ones fighting there, I have friends that right after NDA, spent years in the north east, I have friends waking up screaming from sleep, I have friends that slept and woke up , strangling their wives, I have friends that cant sleep, unless they consume a bottle of cognac, then are backed out to bed, I have friends I grew up with and trained with still going to face this.....this will be and endless circle, unless status quo is changed.....but big idiot like you, that thinks he is the only patriot here, bloody bigot like you, patriotism isnt blind....... we are losing equipments at an alarming rate, who says I'm not happy about ARA?
You can make your point without being abusive.
We also thank you for your service.
Now read and I also need an apology from you because I wasn't abusive towards you.
The day the video was shown I reached to a flag officer. He was there for three years.
I have been on this blog for a long time.
I have been harshly critical of the NA .
This is one of my biggest bones of contention
I have hated with every fiber in my being the thin skinned vehicle it offers zero protection to our troops.
My friend was given a Ford ranger.
I don't understand how you wouldn't want our men to be protected by more armor., how the first thing out of your mouth is that more equipment for BH.
Tell me how does it feel when a truck drives over an IED instead of an MRAP.
Please answer the question no abuse .
Henry has screamed himself hoarse about MRAPS.
My Childhood friend slept with an AK47 between his legs every night.
He lost men and women
(That's for the idiots who talk sh&t about NA Women soldiers)
He is a lifer.
S/L, Liberia and BH.
He lives with it
Every f!cking day.
I am Dammn sure he would like to see more APC/ More MRAPS.
He also has seen some of his friends arrested/ retired for incompetence.
And what is sleep?
BH insurgency stretches across 3 States and 4 Countries how many FOBs are there?
How many firefights happen?
How many don't even get reported?
Let a FOB experience a setback .
Premium times reports it with breathtaking speed..From an an anonymous Senior Officer
Any Private would of dropped a grenade in the T55( most likely scenario) no only BH had the intelligence to do it .
I share your frustration deeper than you think or no but you don't need to wish or even say it out loud that we don't need equipment to protect our troops because it might fall into BH hands

Stephendewardt
Does not seem to respond when there is good news about Nigeria.
Let there be bad news
Let Premium times who only half the time gets the news right he is on it.
His comments about not caring about other countries losing equipment are asinine.
Because this is war every belligerent loses equipment that is fact regardless of competence or incompetence
The US lost 2 Chinooks in a single operation to possible RPG from the Taliban
Does that mean they don't fly anymore.
I am thankful that Nigeria is now producing the ARA.
If a military commander is competent he would know how to hold / repel a base
It doesn't come down to Premium times reporting an elementary three pronged advance with their embellishing. They were not there.
My point is incompetence can rear its ugly head at the FOB level regardless.
But for him to insinuate Nigeria shouldn't manufacture its own equipment because it might be stolen is ludicrous..How many engagements have been repulsed by the NA on a daily basis ?
That is not reported.
How many times have we seen our boys stand up ?
A setback is a a setback no bones about it.
But his cavalier defeatist attitude is what he is made of .
And no one gives a 's ads about his ex girlfriend who had enough sense to leave his sorry ads

Nigerian Manufactured APCs
When do we congratulate our own?
We highlight and harshly criticize the NA which we rightly .
But We can only make fun and in jest wish for BH to seize the equipment.
The US lost equipment and Men to the Taliban
SANDF lost equipment in the DRC.
I know you meant it in jest but let us learn to praise our own.
Nigeria has to start somewhere.

Abba Kyari will be forming Jack Bauer , taking pictures upandan. If not that his unit is heavily funded with special equipments, I don't see anything extra ordinary he does. If the police formations nation wide are funded and equipped like the team he's heading we would hv made Nigeria a safer place. There are extremely intelligent officers in the police but the tools to work with is not there.
Don't quite get your point and I am being respectful here.
A.K. is just the head of a high profile Anti-Kidnapping unit.
He and his entire unit are just doing there job.
His unit is in the eye of the storm.

There are some Nigerians who are very angry with them and actually try to kill them.
Whether it is A.K. or those who work undercover let us thank them.

Construction phase of Seaward Defence Boat 3 has finally began.

Photo showing the Keel of SDB 3

The construction phase for the Seaward Defence Boat III has commenced at the Naval Dockyard Limited. The areas where the fabrication will take place have been readied while all materials are being moved to site. Similarly, the steel plates are currently been cut into different shapes and dimensions with the plasma cutting machine. The project will start with the construction of the inverted hull as a single unit, while the superstructure would be built as a separate entity. Upon completion of both units, they will be welded together to achieve a single compact unit. The various segments of the superstructure will then be fabricated and welded together.

The project is a milestone in the annals of the Nigerian Navy and it is the third vessel of similar characteristics to be built at the Naval Dockyard Limited. The boat which is 43 metres long is a bold attempt at self-reliance in local construction of naval platforms in the Nigerian Navy. The project has an 18 month completion time frame and is expected to be built in the Twin Docks. It will be powered by diesel engines and armed with appropriate naval guns and missiles when completed.
I like the missile part.

Algeria is clearly a better run country. Economy, Infrastructure and Military. We export more crude and gas than them. Boko-Haram insurgency has killed more people in Nigeria than Algeria. Yet, every person in the political class and military in Nigeria seem really confused.
Better run : YES
Exportation of crude oil gas etc : yes
The Algerian Civil war has estimates as high as 200,000
Not everyone is confused especially in the military and the political class
Counter argument : You have to be given the opportunity to get there first and then be in a position to effect change
Appoint : Sharon Ikeazor Minister of Defence with absolutely no knowledge of Defence related matters drop her there come back two years later you won't recognize the place
Ditto : Col Ali ( rtd)
Ditto : Air Marshall Sadique Abubakar
OGA HENRY It goes beyond money ( it is more of a mindset) and Administrative capabilities to take very tough and and the road less traveled decisions . Air Marshall Sadique effectively got rid of the entire AIR FORCE hierarchy when he took over .
Personally I didn't start making serious money in Nigeria till I shut my immediate family out .
I always ask NIGERIANS are we willing to pay the price ?

Algeria has a proper military. It's incredible, the army regularly carries out large scale brigade level exercises too.

I just can't understand why the Nigerian military is piss poor when compared to Algeria. undecided undecided
ALGERIA spends $10B on their MILITARY ( PROCURMENTWISE) this is the unclassified version
Nigeria spends $2B ( including procurement)
ALGERIA went through a far more bloody insurgency than NIGERIA did ( it wasn't uncommon for 900 people to have their throats slit in one night)
At the beginning of the insurgency ALGERIA was completely unprepared
WHAT changed?
Better leadership at both the Political and Military level
( Some would tell you grimly or the bad officers were either retired or were kia)
ALGERIA saw the side effects of the ARAB spring ( LIBYA/ Egypt)
They have made security a priority ( GUNS OVER BUTTER)
In short they have made it a #1 priority to be the most powerful nation in AFRICA.
Nigeria has not made SECURITY a #1 PRIORTY
Leadership at both the military and political have not demonstrated the go for broke mentality to rid NIGERIA of BH / ISWAP
Nigeria in terms of doing the needful when it comes to procurement is simply not there yet.
Our history has shown
Presidents from CIVILIAN BACKGROUNDS tend to spend more and procure more than Presidents from Military backgrounds
this is a fact.
We remain optimistic when we will get there.

At that level na pure politics. The position is highly political, in Nigeria nobody sends merit oo.
CAS maybe elevated to CDS..
The post of the CDS, COAS, CAS and CNS are selected based on the President 's inclination and serve at his discretion.
Yes they are indeed political.
A serving officer if he serves with distinction can expect to get to the rank of a General
One Star Being Brigadier General.
The route from Brig to Maj Gen.is attainable but is steep .
There are only 2 persons in the NA that have the rank of Lt.Gen (Buratai) (COAS) and Gen (Olonishakin) CDS.
It is expected that both will be retired
They are both within the 35-40 year Mark.
One of the Chiefs will be selected.
Buratai has groomed at least 4 that have been given prominent roles.
Again it will be PMB will have the final word.
The CAS ( Abubakar) will either be retired or be made the CDS..
The CNS will be retired.
The NSA ( Monguno) will be retired.
It is expected that the Defence Minister will be retired.
Expect changes to be announced in June 2019.

Although personally, i wouldn't mind fighting for Nigeria, regardless of her flaws, it's still home, even though I've spent more than half my life away from there, there's still nowhere that can replace it, it's still my home.
My Uncle was conscripted during the Civil War.
If you lived in the Onikan/ Obalende area during the late Sixties.
The NA used to conduct sweeps of miscreants.
Grandmother confirmed it.
Brig.Gen Adekunle also confirmed it.
In 1966 the NA was less than 10,000 Men and Women combined.
By 1970 it was well over 250,000.
I end my discussion with a prayer that:
Nigeria is never invaded.
Amen.

You have your opinion on this, i have mine, let's put it to rest. Mine won't change, no matter how naive anyone sees it
In the 1970s Syria was a model Country.
After its disastrous war with Israel.
Hafez Assad cooled his. ass down.
Then the spring revolution began.
According to Baba Owen
The US gave a gentleman's warning before they started testing their weapons and capability of their SFs
In fact. the Russians also asked nicely so the Syrians could relocate their Mothers.
The Turkish Army at the Border paused to say their prayers as they got out of their Leopard Tanks that were overheating.
Each of them have had their fair share of Collateral damage on the poor wretched Syrians.
I didn't even mention the Israeli Airforce who
conduct target practice on the Iranian Quds.
There this is what an Invasion / War will bring.
I won't even respond to Baba Owen .He just rants into the wind about his pathological. hatred for Nigeria.
Nash .I like millions of other Nigerians will fight for Nigeria.
Not running to Benin Republic
Each man has a choice to face if their Country is invaded .
Some will be cowards
Some will go to war
In Yoruba I will be a Balogun.
One who goes to War.
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by LTGEN: 9:47pm On May 18, 2019
This is an unlikely scenario.
However let me say this .Nationalisim does not win wars.
Some of the same people spouting of here would be mandated to fight.
It is easy to spout of and over analyze every problem Nigeria has.
It is not the same as invading Nigeria.
The US has struggled mightily in Afghanistan in fact they have given up and are secretly trying to make peace with the Taliban.
No the harsh reality of war and the difficulties that it entails would not make Nigeria an easy target.
Conscription does not make one and all a better Soldier .
Either you born a good Soldier or you are not.
The Saudis are an obvious example.
The Qataris on the other hand are known for being very tough .
If Nigeria were invaded for all the wrong reasons
I like millions of would definitely defend Nigeria.
Those who will, will. those who won't won't
In any Country there are traitors
That is a fact
Be it the US, UK " China , Russia or Algeria.
Nigeria is no exception.
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by LTGEN: 6:46pm On May 18, 2019
Oh Baba Owen
The surviving resistance or whatever is left of the Nigerian Army won't ask for your opinion as to whether you don't want to fight for Nigeria
They will simply conscript/ draft your ass.
The Democratic ideas you have now to express yourself will be gone.
Pray Nigeria is never invaded because the aftermath will be extremely bloody for the Countries who allowed themselves to be used as staging grounds for invasion into Nigeria.
And you are blissfully ignorant of the harsh realities.

if Nigeria was invaded the way Iraq was invaded by the UN, and only military personnel/installation and Nigerian government buildings are targeted then I won't give a dam so far it all ends after Nigeria falls and my family members are safe. I will only fight if my family will be affected.

I don't see any West Africa country invading Nigeria.
If a Country invades you.
You won't be safe..
Your family won't be safe.
This is the likely scenario:
They will take liberties with your Mother.
Your Sister your Aunties.
They will then throw you , your dad and your brothers in Prisons like Abu Ghraib
And young little girls like the American Corporal will pose while you are naked and being tortured..Before you go on your usual anti Nigeria rant think very careful about the Horrors of War.
You haven't survived an occupation, nor have you been in one .
Iraq is a mess because of the US.
Same with Ukraine..
Yemen has gone back to the Stone Ages.
The South Sudan is a careful analysis of everything that could go wrong.
Now you can continue your rant.
Mind you We know who would be the first to run to the other side once the real shooting starts.

The documentary highlights how the NAF Regiment Specialty has been repositioned in the last 4 years for effectiveness through capacity building initiatives. Thank you for your continued interest in the Nigerian Air Force.
Very good documentary.
It chronicles where the NAF started from in 2013
No SF
No SOC
No QRW
No QRF.
To 2019
2 NAF commands
SOC infrastructure
The NAF is getting there in the months to come
they will be put in harm's way but they will succeed by the grace of Almighty God.
